Network Access Manager and WiFi

                   I have a computer that is a member of a domain.  The computer has Network Access Manager and Cisco Secure Mobility Client VPN  modules loaded.  I have the computer setup to authenticate to the network before it connects to the domain.  This is working fine.
When a user brings their computer home, they are unable to connect to their wireless network.  I tried adding some wifi authentication in Network Access Manager, but that did not fix the issue.  I am still going to do some reading up on this issue, but I was hoping that somebody could give me some input if they have any experience?
I need for people to be able to authenticate to the network when they are at work, and VPN when they are at home.

You mean you have start before feature (SBL) enabled and its working fine as long as you're at work. I guess I have seen this before. 
What I read in an internal enhancement request that Cisco AnyConnect 3.0 Start Before Logon (SBL) does not work with user created personal networks.  NAM establishes connections with user created network profiles only after user logon, and consequently there will be no network connectivity at the time Start Before Logon executes.
What version of NAM are you using?

  • AnyConnect Network Access Manager and Windows 10

    Hello,
    I'm currently testing Windows 10 for a client that use AnyConnect NAM (without VPN) to manage his wired and wireless corporate networks.
    After some tests with the latest 3.1 version, it seems that NAM is breaking something in Windows 10 Tech Preview.
    Immediately after the installation, trying to start an application as an Administrator doesn't allow me to enter user credentials anymore and at the logon screen, I can only use a Microsoft Account. I'm unable to enter my Domain credentials.
    Any idea on how to prevent this?

    For info, newest version 3.1.07021 fixed the problem.
    NAM is now working correctly on Windows 10 Tech Preview.

  • Win x64 K8N Neo4 SLI--How do I uninstall Nvidia Network Access Manager?

    I'm trying to get completely out of the Nvidia firewall I made the mistake of installing.  I uninstalled all Nvidia drivers, but control program/add-delete programs shows a Nvidia Network Access Manager and a Nvidia Mixer.  Clicking on remove does nothing.  Just ignores me.  I turned off virus, Windows Firewall, closed all programs but I can't get rid of the dumb thing.
    Anybody figure out how to do it?

    Ctl Program/Add remove programs & going to Uninstall Nvidia drivers gives the option to uninstall components, but either checking all or just the ethernet componenet still leaves Nvidia Network Access Manager remaining. Clicking on uninstall does nothing; apparently there's no way to get rid of it

  • 3dmark 03 and network access manager

    I did a reformat today and when I went to bench my rig with 3dmark 03 the program crashed just after the Battle of Proxicon (or whatever its called, 2nd test). The only thing different that I had installed after the reformat (it was working ok before reformat btw) was the network access manager, so I uninstalled it and now 3dmark works again.
    Anyone else had similar issues with the network access manager or any idea why it would crash 3dmark?

  • AnyConnect + Network Access Manager (NAM) + Certificate

    Hello,
    I want to use Network Access Manager with Anyconnect.
    I configured a WiFi network with EAP-TLS authentication.
    The certificate used for EAP-TLS has the following EKU:
    - clientAuth (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.2)
    - emailProtection (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.4)
    - msSmartcardLogin (1.3.6.1.4.1.311.20.2.2)
    It works with Microsoft Wireless Zero Configuration.
    With NAM, I have this error "No valid certificates available. Please insert a smart card or install a valid certificate"
    If I remove msSmartcardLogin EKU, it works with NAM.
    I can't remove this EKU because Smart card logon is used.
    Why msSmartcardLogin EKU generates this error?
    How can I resolve it?

    I am having the same issue, but have noticed that every now and then the NAM will fail to detect the certificate 3 times then suddently in the NAM event log there will be a message that saying "“Enumerating certificate store 'user personal'.” and it would  retrieve the local certificate for authentication.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem? and knows the fix?

  • Network Access Manager - Service (Secure Mobility Client)

    We are currently working on Deploying the Secure Mobility Client.
    1. We are looking at the ability to stop the Network Acess Manager without Admin rights, According to the Cisco Documentation on this:
    "Stopping and Starting the Network Access Manager"
    Users with local administrator privileges can start and stop the Network  Access Manager. Users without local administrator privileges cannot  start and stop the Network Access Manager without using the service  password defined in the Authentication panel of the profile editor.
    Question: I am unable to find the said option in the Authentication panel in the profile editor
    2. Since we will be using NAM for all of our computers, and since some users will not be using the VPN, we will need to push out profiles to the users (This is easy however we are concerned about updates and getting those pushed). A collegue shared that he head at Cisco Live2011 that there is an option in NAM to update it's profiles by connecting to the VPN-Headend without actually authenticating and logging into the VPN.
    I know if a user connects to the VPN Headend we can update the profiles on NAM/VPN etc... however without them connecting I'm not sure if there is any way to do so?

    There is nothing to be done with your anyconnnect client.... if needed changes needs to ne done at VPN FW/Router where your anyconnect connection is established..... here i guess your corporate office is having this VPN server.....
    They have configured it as tunnel all mode... means all traffic will be taken through VPN... see from your output preferred default route is pointed to 192.168.0.101, which is a vpn gateway....
    If needed anyconnect vpn configuration needs to be changed from tunnel all to split-tunnel....

    My motherboard documentation mentions that the board supports the Nvidia network access manager firewall.  I have not yet installed the software for it.  Is it a hardware firewall?
    I have used ZoneAlarm for a couple of years, and have found it both simple and effective.  How does the NAM compare?

    i was wondering the same thing.....my board is sitting next to my desk, thursday is my day off so hopefully i can get her built than, but i was reading the book and noticed this too, i know it has something to do with the built in firewall...but otherwise not sure whatesle there is to it, i run norton internet secuirty for 3 years now with issues (built in firewall) so i suppose even with the nvidia active firewall i will still install norton of course for antivirus....

  • What changes does Network Access Manager have to do into Windows to work fine?

    We are deploying the Network Access Manager in Windows machines to work in 802.1x cenario with CISCO ISE.  In some machines NAM doesn't work well. What Windows 7 features does NAM module have to interact with Operational System?

    We solved the issues with a custom package made with WISE and we deployed it with Microsoft SCCM.
    SCCM works with a System Account to install applications and we deduced that issues happened because the account privileges to install AnyConnect in some machines was not enough.

  • Using Network Access Manager to manage VPN connections

    Can Network Access Manager be used to manage Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility VPN connections?

    Does Nvidia have any kind of technical support for their drivers?  I could not find anything on their site.  I can not figure out why the Network Access Manager will not load in IE for me.  My WindowsXP and IE are completely up-to-date.  I can access the Network Access Manager in the Firefox browser, but the profiles will not change.
    Under Personal Firewall->Basic Configuration, I cannot switch my profile.  It takes me to the "    Please Wait Configuration settings are being applied" screen, with the progress meter, but nothing ever happens, even if I leave it sitting for 30 minutes.  I noticed there are error messages on that screen: "Error in ProfileCustom1Base Set : Invalid selection. Please choose a valid selection" and "Error in ProfileCustom2Base Set : Invalid selection. Please choose a valid selection"   The error messages appear regardless of which profile I'm attempting to use: low, off, high, medium, custom1-3.
    This is really bugging me, because I want to use the firewall, but I cannot open ports for programs I want to use.
    If someone knows a contact email for Nvidia, please let me know.

    I configurate EAP_FAST in Cisco ISE and want wired users authenticate from ISE. I install Network Access Manager Profile Editor and Cisco Anyconnect Security Mobility Client on PC. I configure Network Access Manager  when i want to save as that I did not see the . \newConfigFiles folder. Then I did that: Organize’, ‘Folder and Search Options’, ‘Show hidden files, folders, and drives. but in this case i did see the network access manager folder.
    I need a to install Cisco’s AnyConnect Network Access Manager (NAM) on PC. HOW  I get this soft? I have a smartnet for ISE. 
    Which email address(to cisco) i must be write to get this soft?

    You can download the Network Access Manager module from CCO.  This link should work if you have a CCO account.

    The file name will be similar to anyconnect-win-3.1.05160-pre-deploy-k9.iso.  Just unzip the ISO with 7zip or Winrar and you will see the NAM msi file  anyconnect-nam-win-3.1.05149-k9.msi.

  • Network Access Manager - Switch to Custom Profile

    Hi,
    I'm trying to open some ports using the web-interface for the firewall Network Access Manager.  When I go to open ports, it says to switch to one of the custom profiles.  I select the profile, click on apply and I see 'Please Wait' and 'Configuration Settings Are Being Applied' messages.  The problem is, nothing ever happens.  It just sits there.  So I can never actually change any of the port settings, which is not very good.   Anyone seen this problem?
    Oh yah,  I was never able to even view the Network Access Manager front-end until I switched from IE to Firefox ... never would have thought something like that would be broken in IE.

  • Network access manager gone crazy?

    Hey network techies out there. Why in the log for Network access manager is it consistently filling with block of port 137,  and 138? Does this happen on other computers too? I am connected to a 100 base T network at school and I have file and printer sharing off.
    Secondly, in the administrative properties tab and then the version area...does everyones else say it can't find nCLI.exe?

Yesterday,I could.Given that you have provided nothing in the way of usable information to isolate the problem I can only suggest restarting your directory server (assuming it hasn't crashed) then restarting the web-container hosting Access Manager and see if that fixes the problem.
    If not, you will have to look further into the web-server logs and the directory server logs to see why the problem is occurring.
