Network alert symbol.

Suddenly this morning, I have an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle over my network icon in my task bar. I only have one computer, so I shouldn't need a network. How do I remove the alert symbol?

Error on Network alert

Hi,
When i navigate through /sapapo/pov1 for the product view and click the network alert each time i click on the network alert icon the alert message gets increment, but through /sapapo/rrp3 it is not so. What could be the reason for network alert increment.

Go to Mail's Accounts preference pane and delete the iCloud account. Close Mail, reopen and add the iCloud account back.

Photo Book: Alert Symbol/Deleting Blank Pages?

1. What does it mean when there's a small yellow alert symbol (a yellow triangle) in the upper right corner of my image?
2. How do I delete blank pages from the end of my photo book? I've created too many...

It means your photo is below 180 dpi

The reaults for "Yellow Triangle" includes the following
If you see a low-resolution alert
A digital photo is made up of millions of individual dots of color, called “pixels.” A photo’s “resolution” is the number of dots per inch (dpi) that it contains. The higher the resolution, the more dots per inch. Some photos look jagged or blurry when printed if their resolution is too low.
When you include low-resolution photos in a book, calendar, card, or print order, an alert symbol marks those photos.
To improve a photo’s print quality:
Choose a smaller print size. In a book or calendar layout, you can do this by increasing the number of photos per page.
If you previously cropped the photo, revert to its original version, and then crop off a smaller portion, or leave it uncropped.
If you positioned a photo within its frame by zooming in on it, zoom out of the photo.
If you continue to see a low-resolution alert after trying these methods, you can still order prints of the image or include it in your book, calendar, or card, but it may not print as clearly as your other photos.

Network Alerts

Network Magic v5.5 is reporting 3 network alerts. All 4 pertain to security and identify that I am not running a anti virus, anti spyware, or a firewall. All three are currently on through Kaspersky. I have verified that they are running. I am using Windows 7. I have done a fresh install of Network Magic, I have rebooted the PC and re-performed the scan on the network alert page. Any suggestions?

It may be a change to the program that prevents NM from detecting it. This issue normally has t be fixed in an update so hopefully one is coming that will fix this.
My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008

Generate voice call on reception of network alert

Hello All,
We have multiple networks monitoring tools Cisco & non Cisco including Prime Infra...
We have the following requirement and don't know if it is easilly doable.
We've tried some tools available out there but the result was not very good.
We want to generate calls (we have a full Cisco UC network) on reception of networks alerts.
Is there any way/trick of doing it ?
If anyone has tried something like this and wants to share, that would be really helpfull.

I have this exact issue and yes, if I have my 3G off I can make calls - don't need to re-try even once. As soon as I turn it on again, it might take me 10-15 redials until I get connected!!!

Listen again on BBC iPlayer causes "network unavailable" symbol

Hello,
I can listen live to BBC through iPlayer. However, when I listen to the archived programmes, after a period of operating normally, the "network unavailable" symbol appears.
Sometimes, closing Firefox clears the problem. But most of the time, it's necessary to restart Windows or reset the Orange livebox.
A secondary problem is that I can no longer access video media (youtube etc.). The video starts to play but jumps back to the beginning before displaying an error message.
Adobe Flash Player is present as an add on.
I didn't use to have these problems on older versions of Firefox.
Has anyone any suggestions as to why these problems occur?

I am sorry to hear that sometimes the network becomes unavailable and that youtube does not play video media.
First please try [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]] and troubleshoot by disabling each of your extensions by setting each to "ask to active" on the about:addons page. Does this minimize the issue when you try to access the media when the plugin is set to ask to activate?
Do you use a firewall? Please reconfigure the Firewall for Firefox and the plugin container.

Network preferences: symbol and text swapped

Hello,
On our new MacBook Pro with Mavericks the Wi-Fi symbol and Ethernet symbol are swapped with the text. After the word Wi-Fi the icon Ethernet is displayed and after the word Ethernet the icon Wi-Fi is displayed.
How can this be put in correct order ?

I was actually chatting with Apple Support about exactly this problem when I found the answer while simultaneously digging around on the Internet. This discussion at the MacRumors forum has the answer:

Because you can't have two things named the same thing, I started by naming the actual Ethernet service "cow". Then I correctly renamed "Wi-Fi", then I correctly renamed "Ethernet".
In my case, this oddity showed up after migrating data from an older Mavericks Mac. Reinstalling and even Combo updating Mavericks changed nothing regarding this situation. Simply swap the service names back!

Unbreakable Linux Network Alert Icon - How to register?

I just installed the Unbreakable Linux and when tried to use the up2date I get a message requesting to active my environment but I don't have a CSI as I'm an Oracle employee. Does anyone know how can I make it work?

I tried to subscribe to Unbreakable Linux Network with my company's CSI supplied to us through our Oracle partnership; I work for an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner. I have used my CSI for MetaLink registration and Service Requests, but it is not working when I try to register for "up2date" (error: "CSI is not valid").
Should my company's CSI work?

Mobile network symbol displays Chinese characters whilst in China instead of English

The network carrier symbol in the status area displays in Chinese characters instead of English whilst travelling in China so that I have to go to the settings to see which carrier is selected. The phone is set to English in the region format and I have never had this on my previous Blackberry. Is it a setting or a firmware issue?

Yup, only if your iOS device is set to English. Then yes, good Pinyin (and even some English!) shows up. I guess my only complaint now (in English) is that you really have to zoom in to see the smaller streets compared to how Google Maps showed them.
The Hanzi is still an issue, though, in at least some other languages. I prefer English but some others in my household prefer Spanish, and when the language is set to Spanish, Hanzi shows up everywhere.

Customzed Symbol for Alert

Can we change the symbol on the alert. I know that it can show i(Note),X(Stop),!(Caution) symbols. One of the requirement is One of my client is asking for the ? symbol instead of these symbols.

No, you cannot change the generic form alerts' symbols.
But you can always built your own alerts or use a PJC to to customize them.

What is the "Timeframe" area?
A clip in an Event, or a whole Event has lost track of it's originals.
Did you delete anything in an Event that you were using in a Timeilne?

Email and SMS alert issues

My phone is the Blackberry Curve 8530
1. I have two e-mail accounts set up on my phone. One the one, the red * alert symbol always shows up on that email account's folder, but for the other one the red * alert symbol for new messages shows up on the separate "messages" folder... how do i fix this?
2. I keep randomly receving the message alert symbol (the red *) on my SMS folder, but I click it and i don't have any new messages and all of my messages are read... what's the deal here?

Wireless and cable network working together

How do I set up an apple network to allow wireless and ethernet to work simultaneously for different purposes. At our current location we have internet access through a wireless hub but are networking all computers through ethernet. I need to seperate the data stream to allow internet and email to see the Wireless network and have the data link go through the ethernet. Does anyone know the method to follow to get this to work??

Why are you wanting the two networks to be isolated?
But like Like Linc said,
Put the priority of the adapters accordingly
System Preferences > Network > (gear symbol next to the '-' sign) Set Service Order
Wifi
Ethernet

An alert that doesn't exist keeps on popping up on my calendar... how do I get rid of it?

Every time I go to iCloud.com, a the little red alert symbol pops up on my iCalendar, even though I do not have an event with an alert. If I do happen to have an event with an alert, I can't find it, and so I can't make the alert symbol go away. This is not necessarily a huge problem, but it is starting to get very, very annoying. Please help.

If you're running Windows, go into it and run chkdsk or another tool on the Windows partition, drive, or image.

IMac G4 dropped off network

Hello,
I have a home business network set-up where I do my creative work on an iMac G4 and Mac Book and use a cheap box PC as a print server for my wide format and large colour laser printer. The PC, iMac and laser printer are connected to a Lynksys WRT54GS by ethernet and the MacBook to the router via wireless g.
Everything has been going great with all machines able to see, print and fileshare with each other. The other day, having done nothing special to the machine or new programs loaded, the iMAc convinced itself it is off the network.
In the Status tab of Network prefs, I am told that an ethernet cable is not connected, yet the MacBook can still mount the User/Computer volume ofthe iMac (but can not see the hard drive as a sharable volume). So the ethernet connection has not failed. Running diagnostics bangs into the "your ethernet cable is not plugged in".
From the PC side - it can see the MacBook and vice versa but tells me I do not have sufficient permissions or password (whatever) to mount the iMac drive.
Investigating the entire Network prefs pane, it seems that all settings are normal - IP addresses, etc.
When I tried to print to the ethernet printer, I was told by the iMac that "Appletalk is not enabled" (it is).
Any thoughts on this one?

airport (snow) network with g3 ibook, intel imac and
g4 imac. g4 was tuned off for couple days and will
now not see home wireless network. airport symbol
appears gray and it shows up in system profile, so i
think it is functioning. in addition, the other
computers, as well as this problematic g4 imac have
always picked up 3 or 4 other neighborhood networks.
but now this g4 imac will not see any of these other
networks when the other 2 computers do.
i have tried the airport admin utilities and network
assistant in preferences with not luck. the fact
this computer is not seeing any of the networks that
the other 2 are picking up makes me think this is a
hardware problem ( card, wire). before i take it
appart, are there any recommendations. thanks.
I also have an airport (snow) network with G3 iBook, intel iMac and G4 iMac. I also have been able to pick up 3 or 4 neighborhood networks with all three computers. After a recent power outage, my G4 was no longer able to see any of the networks (my intel imac and ibook G3) automatically reconnected to my home network. My G4 cannot seem to see the airport. I have run airport admin utilities and network assistant (diagnostics and assist me) with no luck. Can anyone help us?
