Network Card connection lost

Dears,
I have very weird problem , i have hp server prolaint Dl 380 G8 each driver is update,i have installed hyper v with 6 VMS,
any way the network card on the hyper V server suddenly becoming unreachable by clients, till i disable it and re enable it
i have tried to alter the following :
1-removing the driver and re install it
2-changing the duplex speed to 1 gig as my switch is 1 gig instead of auto detection
please any suggestion will be appreciated ...Thank you

It depends on the operating system. For W2008R2 you should use drivers from HP. For WS2012/R2 there is a good support from within operatiing system.
If this does not help, addres your attention to HP support/forum.

2 network cards in Windows 8.1 but can't set the correct one to Private

Hi, I already asked this question in the community forum but was re-directed here as you guys know more about multiple network cards in Windows 8.
I'm using Windows 8.1 with 2 network cards. One for my internal LAN (will call this my secure LAN which has a static IP) and one for connection to the internet (Internet LAN which is DHCP). Both networks are totally physically seperate. This is for a combination
of speed and security purposes (lot of internet traffic on the internet LAN and I want that card locked down to prevent file sharing on it)
By default, both of the cards have their network properties set to public. To date I have not found any way to set the secure LAN card to private and the Internet card to public. If I enable file sharing in the private bit of "advanced settings" and
go to the Metro settings (whatever the fancy name is) under PC Settings/Network/Connections, there is only a generic "network" icon shown (rather than 2 netowrk icons, one for each card). When clicked, this correlates to the network card connected
to the internet. I can make this card public or private by changing the "Find devices and Content" switch on or off but this does not impact the card connected to the secure LAN. I tried disabling the Internet card and re running the setup (which
this time configured the secure LAN card) which I think did allow me to change it to private but as soon as the internet LAN card was re-enabled it reverted to that one being private and my secure LAN to public.
so - The config I am left with is the wrong way round (ie the internet card set to private and my private LAN card set to public!)
Similarly, I tried using regedit. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles\ <Profile ID> I can change the REG_DWORD to 1 or 0 but this only impacts the private / public settings of the card connected to the
internet.
I am guessing that Windows is kind of combining these 2 cards into 1 network profile and there is some priority thing going on that it gives priority to the card connected to the internet in terms of config?
Anyone got any ideas on how to force one card to private and the other to public?

This is caused by the default security policy which blocks file sharing with unidentified networks by making them public. (How it determines unidentified networks is another interesting question). To allow file sharing, you have to change the local
security policy to allow unidentified networks to be private.

Actually, none of the options will do what you are looking for it to do. That is because, this application only monitors the traffic from the device it is hosted on. That would also mean that you would have to run a copy on each computer that will access the Internet on your network; note their individual usages, and then, combine them to get an idea of the total usage.
However, if you are only interested in the amount of Wi-Fi traffic that only your computer is seeing, then the "AirPort Network Card" option would be the correct choice.

ARC3: RFS network connection lost at host 'stdbhost'

Hi there,
having oracle 8.1.7.4 64 bit on Aix 4.3.3 replicating on a twin machine.
While archiving many logs within few minutes i'm having this error:
ARC3: RFS network connection lost at host 'stdbhost'
ARC3: Error 3113 creating standby archivelog file at host 'STDBIDIP.IDI.IT'
ARC3: Error 3113 creating archivelog file 'stdbhost'
Then after few seconds it retries and succeded. My clause in the primary db is:
SERVICE=stdbhost OPTIONAL REOPEN=180
The problem is that sometimes it does not succeed so i loose some archives and there's a gap sequence. Unfortunately i loose some archives that after the backup of the primary are deleted so i can't apply get them. The only way is to restore those files. But i can't every time do this!
My database was replicating from about two months without problems. Then we activate it for test and now i rebuilt it but now having problems i mentioned above.
I have followed the same procedure.
I was guessing why i'm getting that error. How can it be solved? I see that on the primary site sometimes more than one archive processes are activated. I was wondering if on the standby site on rfs process was enough to handle all archives arriving at the same time. If not is it possible to activate more rfs'?Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

I am willing to bet it is not linksys. Most likely it is your service provider blocking p2p.
This is a major battle with service providers. If you do some research on this you will see what I am talking about.

I dont' see a system state "ethernet active" do I create this? I'm on CSA version 5.1.0.103. I have a system state called network which has the description of All users who are logged on via a network connection. Is that the same thing you mean? Then how do I create the rule? I get to where I have a NAC rule but I'm not for sure what to choose after that.

PCI wireless card connected to network but safari says not connected to net

Hi everyone
I moved my computer and had to change from wired ethernet to wifi. I installed a ralink PCI card in my MDD G4 dual 867. It sees the network and connects but Safari doesn't know it is on a network. What am I missing? I also have to connect manually every bootup. How do I setup autostart? My wireless router is a D-link DIR-615. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi David,
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
Then... Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Then Apply
DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.

Logged on to my network and says connection lost won't let me open web pages ?

Ipad 2 logs on to network then when i open safari i get message that safari can't open because of lost connect while other computers still work ?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

InDesign network connection lost.

Hello all,
I've got a serious problem with my InDesign. When I edit or create documents in InDesign it randomly says (after 5 - 10 minutes) "The network connecion was lost for the file '...indd' or the file was modified by another process.
Here is a screenshot of the error message
After I click on OK, InDesign shut's down. When I reopen InDesign nothing is lost usually, and then after 5 - 10 minutes the same problem.
I've allready tried several thins to solve this problem;
- I tried a wierd connection but that diddnt solve the problem (Usually im working wireless)
- I did make sure that I was the only one wokring with these folders. So nobody els could modify or edit the files.
- Cancel to recover the document after InDesign shuts down also diddnt solve the problem.
- When working home, the same problem occurs
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this frustrating problem?
The mac I work on is a MacBook Pro form mid 2010.
Running os X 10.7.2 (aka lion)

Sorry forgot to mention.
Were working here with a simple domain network ( 10 - 12 users in the domain )
We have one file server, thats were the InDesign documents are saved.
And we got one email sever.
This is mainly a windows network, we got 2 macs connected. (where my macbook is 1 of the 2)
I connect with my macbook to the file server via smb://servername
Never had a problem with that, worked 100% fine for the last year.
And this problem doesnt occur with other files that are stored on the file server (Think of Photoshop documents and Illustrator documents)

Though i checked a lot of forums, but didn't find out how to solve this problem.

[SOLVED] Lost MAC address on network card

It seems that my wired ethernet card has lost its MAC address. Some information/output:

Adding a line
#ifconfig eth0 hw ether <random-address-here>
to the startup-scripts makes it possible to use the nic, but it seems like a very temporary solution.
I don't know what can have caused this. Maybe the winter cold here in Norway erased some part of the nic's ROM?
- Does anybody have any idea how I can remedy this?
- Do I have to send the laptop in for repair to get it restored?

Using "ipconfig /all" on windows showed the same zeroed mac address, so I guess the problem isn't (wasn't) linux-specific.
I left the pc in my locker at school last night and when I started it up again this morning the mac had mysteriously returned! Maybe the university leprechaun was bored yesterday.

I have try make a restore and open again my cellular data but the problem is still there, after I try to restart my iphone then can use my cellular data, but after few hour ago I still confront the same problem too.

I'm getting a "Network connection lost" error shortly after the installation of a downloaded app is started. The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted.
I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same.
I've noticed other threads on this forum about a somewhat similar issue but no real solution appears in any of them.
My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.
Are there any working solutions for this very annoying error?
Or do i have to wait for Symbian Clara (or whatever name they give it) to be installed?

Performing hard reset will set the phone to its default setting. You may have to check the settings of your phone again. To define the your access points, go to settings> connectivity> settings> network destinations> Internet> options> new access point> Automatically check for available access point> yes. You can choose GPRS connection first and then run the same steps and then set up your WLAN.

I downloaded KillerSuite + drivers and I cant even install it.. What do you recommend I do?
I tried fixing the issue for 10 hours and still no progress.
My friends tell me maybe the network adapter is broken.
Any suggestions anyone? Reset BIOS? Update BIOS? What Should I DO?
I had the new computer for 1 week and the internet connection just stopped working 3 at night...

had the same problem. windows doesn't see the network card in device manager. what I did is disconnect completely my power cord from my psu , press the cmos clear button and wait 5 min. I reconnect my power cable and power on my pc and voila my network card was recognized by windows has a Ethernet controller. Then I installed the killer driver suite and it work ok. Be sure that you enable your network card in the bios.

Two network cards configuration

I have problem with my network - I have two network cards and it seems they can't live both but I need them both so:
1st card (rtl8139) is connected to cable modem and gets ip by DHCP (eth0="dhcp" in rc.conf)
2nd card (nv forcedeth) is connected to router and gets ip by DHCP too (eth1="dhcp")
When I start them both -> 1st and 2nd card gets good IP by DHCP but when I want to ping google.com for example packet is lost.
What I want ? I want to use my eth0 (1st card) for internet and my 2nd card for local network.

My resolv.conf is 192.168.1.1 but I need DNS from 1st interface -> how to do this?

Messy setup IMO, but anyway....
Your faulty resolv.conf is the reason you can't ping google. Edit it manually as required, and then use the -R flag in /etc/conf.d/dhcpcd to prevent it being overwritten. DHCP on both interfaces will probably cause routing issues as well, in which case you will need the -G flag.
