Network Carrier of Iphone 4...??

Hi i got a iphone4 by my Friend's help from UK,
Now I want to Know the Network carrier of my iphone 4 to get it unlocked. IMEI NO:- 13*************88.

No one here would know, ask your "friend", or call AppleCare in the UK.
Won't do you any good though, as UK carriers, that offer unlocking, won't do so unless you are a customer that uses or has used the phone on their network...obviously not you.
Your best bet is to send it back to your "friend", & have him/her get it unlocked for you.
Good luck.

• I have no idea which network/carrier my Iphone is locked to

I purchased an Iphone 3GS last week on eBay but I have no idea which carrier the phone is locked to. I've tried Orange and Virgin, neither work.
I've tried contacting the person who sold it to me, but he doesn't know, either, because apparently a friend gave it to him. (I'm going to ask him to ask his friend, but I'm not holding out much hope) He "thinks" that it's o2, so I ordered a sim card from o2, but then again, I'm not entirely sure it'll work.
Is there any way to find out which carrier your iphone is locked to? I've tried live chat twice, but that's not been helpful.
I'm stuck on this screen:
"No SIM card installed
Insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock
to activate iphone"
Thanks a lot.

There is no way to tell which network an iPhone is locked to except by inserting different SIMs or asking the original buyer.
Some websites claim to be able to tell you locked status by the iPhone model number, but the information has proved to be incorrect in lots of cases.
A lot of eBay iPhones are US models, locked to AT&T with no way to unlock them.
But why buy an iPhone if you didn't know whether it would be any use to you?

• IPhone 4S has no signal bars but shows the network carriers name and the 3G icon but just doesn't have no siganl bars

Hi my iPhone 4S has no signal bars but shows the network carriers name and the 3G icon but just doesn't have no siganl bars but it was working fine till today then all of a sudden lost signal what do i do any help much appreciated

I've been experiencing with the same problem lately. Have you tried getting a new sim card?
With the new sim it seems to work well for a few days and then it goes back to the same problem. The warranty on my phone just ended about a month ago, and I've never dropped it and no water damage either. When I do a erase all and reset, it seems to work for a few days again and comes back to the same issue. I've deleted all my apps and been using the phone just as a phone and txting device. New IOS update doesn't seem to change this issue either. I've been getting by with doing a network reset and turning it off and on a few times a day.
Anyone have any solution? Much appreciated!

• HT201699 My carrier is Straight Talk (using ATT network) and they require the user to enter the APN settings in order to access their data network. My Iphone 4s is factory unlocked but I can not get to the Cellular Data Network tab to enter the settings?

My carrier is Straight Talk (using ATT network) and they require the user to enter the APN settings in order to access their data network. My Iphone 4s is factory unlocked but I can not get to the Cellular Data Network tab to enter the settings?

Yes ATT hides the APN settings so when you try to use a st sim it automatically reads on AT&T network so the APN settings are hidden and cannot be accessed however you can go to apn.straighttalk.com on you'r phone and select APN/data settings then select AT&T then iPhone and a screen will pop up asking if you would like to install the profile for whatever reason it's not verified but works fine. You can also go to www.unlockit.co.nz and set up a straight talk APN profile that is verified not sure exactly what that means but both work to get the data working on the phone for straight talk but it does not make the MMS work. There are a couple other methods I have read about one is on howardforums using ibackupbot to manually change the files on the phone I haven't been able to get mine to stick using that method but other people have and there is a sim swap method to trick the phone to reveal APN settings using a tmobile sim I have not tried this but other people have with success. The last two methods mentioned will make both data and MMS work

• What is the difference between the three network carriers and if i am to use iPhone 5 in Bangladesh, which network carrier should i choose?

I had one confusion about the network carrier of which one to chose. Actually I do not know the difference between them. Are they related to some sort of sim cards? I would be grateful if anyone could help me to get away this confusion.

Unless we are in Bangladesh, nobody here can really help you with this. If you purchased the phone there, you need to do that research for yourself. You are the one who is there and on the spot so noone else can really help you with that.
You need to contact the available carriers in your area and see what the differences are for yourself.
The phone companies supply you with the appropriate sim cards when you take out a contract with them.
Also, where did you purchase the phone from in the first place and is it an unlocked phone? If the phone is not unlocked, then it won't work.

• Network carrier name not changing after using another sim

Hi,
My mobile was activated by the store representative later when I insert my Sim card the network carrier name shows the one used at the store.
Moreover my phone is working normal with phone calls and SMS.
How can I change the network name back to my home network? Please help...
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhan

Hi Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo. But before you do this. Leave your iphone on aeroplane mode for 30 seconds Then see if network name has change if you only got iphone today it may be to morrow before it changes. Cheers Brian

This should show you what network it's on
this will only show the active network that the iPhone is connected to at that point in time
If the iPhone is locked to a network that does not correspond to the sim the iPhone will not work

Contact the wireless carrier to which the iPhone is currently locked
and ask if they unlock iPhones and if you qualify.

• If i update my ipad3 4G over wifi, would the network carrier eg.(T-mobile) would be locked.

If i update my ipad3 4G over wifi, would the network carrier eg.(T-mobile) be locked, because i had that problem long time ago when i updated my iphone 3G.
please help me with this question because i cant be without my ipad3 4G.
I WANT TO UPDATE NOW!
thanks
Bock.

If it was factory unlocked or carrier unlocked officially then no. If it was unlocked by any other means then yes it will probably get relocked as the update will resotre the OS and any changes made to it that are not legitimate would get reverted.

• I would like to know which carrier my iPhone is locked to

Hello Apple support,
After many attemps to contact you I landed here, so here is my question.
I recently bought an iPhone 4 over the internet which was locked and not yet activated.
Therefor I need to find out which carrier my iPhone is locked to so I can finally start using this thing, I will not provide my IMEI number in public for security reasons.
So is it possible to check my Carrier lock status by my IMEI / serial number? Because I think it is AT&T yet I am not sure, and I can't check it because I live in Belgium where I cannot get a hold of an AT&T sim card. The owner told me it was a dutch phone so it had to be locked with T-Mobile yet they don't seem to recognize the IMEI. The model number is MC318LL LL is coded for America as I seem to have heard.
Please do help me because I have made MANY attempts finding this out!
Many thanks in advance,
Jan

This is a user to user help forum only.
This cannot be determined by users with the info provided, and I'm not sure if Apple would give you this info over the phone if you called AppleCare in the U.S. - for security and privacy reasons.
You need to get this info from the seller. If the seller is unable to give you this info or the correct info, return it to the seller for payment credit and purchase an iPhone in your country from an official retailer and you will have less problems or no problems including not having to hack the iPhone to unlock it which removes all the built-in security making it insecure as with an Android phone.

• WHEN I USED TO CONNECT INTERNET FROM MY IPHONE 4S PERSONAL HOTSPOT VIA USB, AN ICON IN THE NETWORK PREFERENCE NAMED "IPHONE" GETS OPENED.... BUT NOW THIS IS NOT HAPPENING AND I AM NOT ABLE TO CONNECCT PERSONAL HOTSPOT VIA USB CABLE. PLEASE HELP ME OUT

Please don't shout! Using all uppercase means shouting on the internet. If your keyboard is stuck please say so, otherwise people will think you are being obnoxious.
Now the first question is, when you are saying connecting to personal hotspot, have you always been using the iPhone to connect to the internet? Are you someplace where the only place to connect is available via tethering to the iPhone's celluar network? Or do you have other options?
