Network connection setting MTU9000 and sleep mode

Hi, does somebody recognised a problem when connected via ethernet with an MTU setting of 9000 or 4500 (jumbo frames) when waking from sleep ?
my finder "freezes" with an spinning wheel of death when connecting to an share, till i change the network settings or restart the machine.
i connect to an NAS which runs only useable speeds with jumbo frames, my switch and the NAS supports jumboframes-9000, but i think its an MacOs issue....

  • Network connection keeps changing after sleep mode

I bought a brand new iMac for my mom just over 2 months ago and have been having internet connection problems. Sleep is set manually going under Apple and hitting sleep.  Every time it's woken up after sleep the internet connection is gone and has to keep manually being switched to our network name which is quite frustrating.  Tried this fix found on an old link on here: http://osxdaily.com/2011/11/06/lion-wi-fi-problems-solution-mac/?utm_source=feed burner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+osxdaily+%28OS+X+Daily%29&utm_conten t=FaceBook
and it didn't work. All the threads I found were from 2010 or 2012. Just wondering if there is a recent fix on here.

  • Imac keeps losing wireless network connection when awoken from sleep mode

I recently did a archive and install on my Imac and I am still trying to get the kinks out.
Since I did the archive and install, my Imac loses it connection to our wireless router. I assume it isn't renewing its DHCP lease. In order to get a connection again, I have to restart my cable modem and my wireless router.
My network settings are set to join preferred networks by default. My default preferred network is listed and the security parameters have been fulfilled. I am set up to use DHCP in Imac preferences.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, See if this helps...
    Go to System Preferences
    Click Network
    Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
    Select your access point.
Remove your access point with the little minus sign. Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry.
Add it in again after a reboot.

  • I have a WD Passport HD attached to my Mac. When it was last connected it went into sleep mode and ran out of battery. Now I cannot find my HD in Finder and Disk Utilities is telling me it cannot repair the HD. Any ideas on how to recover my data?

I have a WD Passport HD attached to my Mac. When it was last connected it went into sleep mode and ran out of battery. Now I cannot find my HD in Finder and Disk Utilities is telling me it cannot repair the HD. I can see the HD but the volume part is greyed out. Any ideas on how to recover my data?

There are other methodologies of scanning a HD
which involve data extraction, but loss of metadata is often the result if the directory is corrupt.
Metadata is the info on what the data IS.
Like having all your papers thrown in the air, its all there, but just a giant mess.
This is why you always always must have several external HD redundancies of your data.  One isnt enough, neither is two really.

Was that your only copy of your priceless data?  Just that one external HD?

  • I know my network connection is fine and I've checked all the cables and that the tv is set to the correct source, but even though Apple Tv is on and responds with beeps when I hit the button, I see nothing on the screen. What do I do next?

I know my network connection is fine and I've checked all the cable connections and my television is set to the correct input, but even though the remote beeps when I hit the button, I see nothing on the screen. The troubleshooting section in the setup guide says to make sure that Apple Tv is connected to my network by choosing Settings>General>Network. How do I do this? What do I need to do to get everything back? I've been using the Apple tv for a while now, and suddenly it's doing this.

  • Airport doesn't locate my network after coming out of sleep mode

Hi, seems that my imac has a hard time connecting with my network when coming out of sleep mode. Even when I choose the proper network, it still asks for my password (even thought it's populated in teh password field) and when I choose OK, it still times out quite often. Eventually if I turn it off and on or restart comp, it comes up OK.
I'm a little afraid to repair permissions as I have a HP C7280 all in one that the general school of thought is don't repair permissions as Leopard thinks they need repair, but in fact are OK and when "repaired" stop the machine from working properly. It took me a while to get it going in the first place, I dont want to break it again! Any ideas?? Thanks, Dan

  • Server connections are lost after sleep mode with Mavericks.

Ever since I "upgraded" to Mavericks, when I "wake" my iMac after putting it in Sleep mode, the network connections have disconnected and I have to re-connect all of them (6) every day. This never happened with Mountain Lion or any other previous version of OS X. Is there a fix for this?

I've also noticed this problem. Brand new MBP with Mavericks, goes to sleep, on wakeup all my network drives are disconnected, as is Outlook 2011. None of them recover gracefully - I have to manually reconnect. Aggravating..

  • 2nd Computer Requires a Manual Wireless Network Connection Setting on Powerup

2nd Computer Requires a Manual Wireless Network Connection Setting on Powerup
On power-up, my 2nd computer, a 3 yo IBM R51, requires that I open the Network Connections window, then set the Wireless Network Connection Properties under the Wireless Network Tab, clicking on "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings", before the automatic connection launches to the WRT150N v1.1 router signal.
I just bought the router and have the latest firmware.
My primary computer does not require the above settings change every time.
Is there a selection I can make so this is automatic on power-up or restart of my 2nd computer?

It was already set to automatic on both extended and standard tabs.
For a good measure, I set it to disable, applied, then reset it to automatic and applied again. Still does same thing.
I notice that if I double click on the small icon for the Intel ProWireless Network Card, I get a Wireless Connection Status Window.
This window has a Wireless Settings section where it seems to have a possibly obsolete "Current Location Profile" called ssnetwork (the name of my old network on my old D-Link router that I just changed out for the Linksys.
Anyway, the Network Name (SSID) field is now blank but when it first came up, it had the new name of the network I'm using.
Do you know how I access this "Current Location Profile" so I can edit it and possibly enter my new network name?
There is a button at the bottom of the screen called "Modify WLAN Settings" that I click but nothing launches when I do so.
Now that I manually did the connection setting, my network name appears in the "Current Location Profile."

  • Network connecting setting in VM

The below issue could be duplicated in VM. But this issue is about signed name. If there are any suggestion or solution, this is very very appreciated.
There is a windows service exe (vc6 code) which will call some COM interface (.net code, signed name dll file).
    Scenario 1:
    1) The network connection of the virtual machine settings is Host-only.
    2) The COM dll is signed name file.
It costs lots of time (more than 1 minitues) to create com instance.
    Scenario 2:
    1) The network connection of the virtual machine settings is Host-only.
    2) The COM dll is un-signed name file.
It costs less than 1 second to create com instance.
    Scenario 3:
    1) The network connection of the virtual machine settings is Bridged.  And the host computer had never had access to Internet.
    2) The COM dll is signed name or un-signed name.
It costs less than 1 second to create com instance.
What's the relationship between network connection setting and signed name?
    Thanks Very Much!

    Any words?
    Thanks

My internet connection is working fine. I suspect it is related to my anti-virus upgrade.
    Any ideas?

Definitely try disabling anti virus software then try iTunes.
