Network Connection Timeout..after its downloaded.

This is ******* me off. I spend a useless $10 to babysit my computer because these morons running the servers can't seem to fix them. It amazes me that this happens EVERYTIME a new update is released and they fail to fix the problem. This is why the Zune is far superior. Anyway, I'm stuck with my piece of junk iPod and I made the mistake of buying the 3.0 update. Everytime it fully downloads, but at the end it says "Could not sync to iPod, network connection timed out." Or something like that.
my firewall is off.
antivirus on low settings.
process manager off.
brand new installed itunes.
ipod is connected.
network connection works.
network connection is not slow, nor is it timing out in real time.
error code: err= -3259
ipod is 2nd Gen
enough space on hard drive by far
Ive now tried to download this sht on four occasions, hours apart. this is getting ridiculous. I would call support but they are probably bogged down and I will probably have to pay to talk to some guy who barely speaks english. woopie.
So, in conclusion. Give me my update or give me a refund. I've been more than patient. Or, if someone has a solution to this problem, help me out!

Hi Jared...same happened to me last night. Were you able to fix the problem? Anybody???

  • Network Connection Timeout when "Chkng for available downloads" from iTunes

I have been struggling with this problem for weeks and have spent a significant amount of time trying to diagnose and fix without success.
When I select “Check for Available Downloads” through iTunes, I receive a “Network Connection Timeout” message and iTunes fails to download any information. It does ask me to validate my access with a password before it fails.
This problem initially occurred after I purchased the iTunes Plus updates for my music library. It backlogged about 70 updates that are now sitting in the queue to be downloaded to my local iTunes library. However, since I made that purchase, I have not successfully been able to do any downloads from the iTunes store. I suspect that the volume of items in the queue is related to the problem (as a trigger or the cause).
I have also tried to buy a single song. Although the purchase is successful (it charges my card and adds the song to the download queue), it doesn’t successfully download the song. I cannot, at this time, even get to a point where I can display a list of the queue for download. It always fails when trying to access that available download queue.
Podcast downloads still work fine through iTunes. I have never had problems with the store before and have done very large downloads (e.g. audio books) in the past. I have had no changes to my configuration leading up to this problem.
I am running a relatively new computer with a clean install of Windows 7, plenty of memory and very fast processors. I’ve got high capacity DSL. The connection is wired from the router into my network card (not wireless).
I have tried a number of things as noted below and the problem still occurs:
    1. Confirmed access to internet, and ability to download from other web sites without timeout
    2. Confirmed my ability to access the iTunes store, change my personal information, browse songs
    3. Confirmed ability to download podcasts
    4. Deactivated my windows firewall, antivirus and Net nanny content protection.
    5. Deactivated the router firewall, and placed my PC in the DMZ of the router (which means that it should be wide open to the external network).
    6. Swapped out the DSL modem for a different DSL modem and completely removed the router from the configuration.
    7. Checked my drivers on the network card and made sure they are up to date.
    8. Ran Windows 7 network diagnostics – no problems detected
    9. Ran iTunes network diagnostics – no problems detected
    10. Uninstalled all software related to iTunes and reinstalled most current versions (iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjur, etc.)
    Thoughts?

    have the same problem...still waiting

  • "network connection timeout" while downloading file or updating software

    Hello!
I have a MacBook pro with Lion 10.7.5 and I recently notices the error msg "network connection timeout" poping up everytime I download a file larger than 200mb or do an update on garageband!!! I use VPN at home (student) and downloading stuff goes smoothly on my windows computer. I do not have any sort of anivitus installed on my Mac, nor have I its firewall turned on!! I have tried downloading with both Safari and Chrome and get the same error with both. I have also used both cable and wifi, but no difference whatsoever!!  Any suggestion or help would be much appreciated!!! thank you!

Thanks for the advice. I already upgraded my own iPhone 3GS and yes there seems to be a big drain on my batt life.
What I'm more concerned for my friend is the updates in future future for her iPhone, say a better iOS 5 version?
Why is there such a connection time error when she tries to update via iTunes?

  • I have been unable to download the iphone software v5.1.  I keep getting the timing out message.  Is there someway to set my network connections to allow the download?  Can I get the update some other way?

The Huntress is correct, I have missed that you have an iPhone 3G
Usually iTunes will tell you in that case, that iOS 4.2.1 the newest version for your phone.
If you don't have an iPhone 3G, network connections timing out can be a security software problem:

  • How do I launch the application after its downloaded?

I just downloaded photoshop CC and illustrator CC and i cant figure out how to open them to start using them. I press the link after its downloaded and it just takes me to the website were it says download trial.

    Hi AMEspinoza9208,
As suggested by station_two navigate to Application and look for software or you may simply write the software name on the spotlight and application will show up.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
    - Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.

  • Connection Timeout after updating to 10.6.6

    Dear Friends
I've got Macbook Pro mid 2010, when I was on 10.6.5 there was no problem connecting to Wi-Fi but after the magic update, I always got "Connection Timeout". another thing to add, I can connect to any network via windows 7 I installed on my macbook.

My two cents is that I have had some type of network problem since install Snow Leopard. I even went back wiped drive and did clean install. Seems their is a problem but not sure if its multiple problems or just one. Safari seems to load pages at a crawl at times. I did several speed tests and found the WIFI connection noticeably slower (about half) compared to my Windows Vista computers running WIFI. Even though my MacBook has N version connection and the Vista ones G.
I have tried different DNS servers and nothing seems to help. The router is the second one I tried. I had a Linksys wrt54 then bought a Belkin F5d8236-4 and both have no effect on the problem. Even a different browser did not help. I have simply determined that Apple needs to fix something in Snow leopard.

  • Network Connection Timed Out when downloading from...

I have only had BT broadband for a few months but am regretting it due to the huge number of dropouts I have - lose connection many times daily which is a big pain as I rely on this for my work.
One specific problem that has reared its head recently is if I try to download latest iphone upgrade from Itunes then after about 30 seconds it fails with "Network Connection Timed Out' and the connection breaks. This happens every time I try.
Also sometimes when I access sites I get TCP Network Error.
I know these problems are to do with the BTHub Router because if I switch to using my old Netgear Router which is still running on another line in the house (I need the backup as BT fails so often) then all works fine.
Can anybody help - or should I just throw it all away and try another provider?

Hi can youplease do the following
1 Bt quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 you should hear no noise any thing heard should be reported to Bt faults on 151 but do not mention broadband when you call once any noise is removed broadband should improve
2 run a Bt speed test speedtester.bt.com andpost back here the results in full
3 obtain your full hub stats byentering 192.168.1.254 into to your browser address bar and navigating to connection and post the full details back here then someone will be able to offer more help about your connection

  • Connection timeout after upgrade to 10.6

    Hi!
I am unable to connect to any wireless network via airport after i upgraded to 10.6. (both open and WEP ones).
When trying to connect i immediately get "connection timeout". By trying again i see airport trying to connect, after 5 secs i get "connection timeout again".
    I have tried the following:
    - delete all preferred networks from the list
    - delete all airport passwords from keychains
    - turn off/on airport
    - restart computer
Nothing worked so far for me. However when i went to a friends place today i experienced the same problem. I deleted the keychain entry, did a restart and all of a sudden i was connected.
Having tried all of the above in different combinations i still have no clue.
    thanks for your help,
    dawandeh
ps: currently i use an external usb wlanadapter which connects without any problems to all the networks i tested.

  • Lan connection timeout after ASA reload

    hi guys
    i have 2 asa 5520 HA .
    i have a problem ..
whenever reload this asa my lan users for tcp and udp and icmp  connection is time out , and i force restart users pc , and after restart ok ...
but without restart my connection timeout
    please help .

    Hi,
It seems to suggest somekind of problem between the ASA firewalls as the "comm failure" is listed.
What does the "show failover" command show?
Have you checked both the GigabitEthernet0/2 and GigabitEthernet0/3 links on both units and the network between the ASA units through those interfaces? I think you should go through those interfaces and the network segment between the ASAs and confirm that there is a working Failover/Statefull link between the ASAs.
Did you log into the Standby ASA and check the output of "show conn". If you got connections active through the Active ASA and the Standby ASA does not have anything in its connection table then you have a problem with the Failover setup.

  • Connection timeout after 7.6.4

I recently updated my time capsule to version 7.6.4.  Immediately after that my MacBook would not connect to my network and constantly says connection timeout.  I have reset the SMC have rebooted everything at least twice.  I have reset the settings in the time capsule and created a new network.  I have also downgraded back to 7.6.3.  All to no avail.  The MacBook is a 2.4 Ghz intel core 2 duo.  The time capsule is about 3 years old. I should also mention that my ipad and iPhones will connect to the time capsule.
I have also purchased a new time capsule and the MacBook connects to it flawlessly.  I am at a loss as to what to do.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Do the setup in full isolation from the network.. using ethernet.
Start with downgrading to 7.6.1  which really is better than either of the later firmware as far as wireless was concerned.
Factory reset the TC. This is important to completely remove the old setup.
Setup wireless but I am not sure how you are mixing wireless here.. if you have a new TC.. are you roaming or extending the network.. or using two entirely different wireless setups??
I would ensure that your wireless is simply working on a channel different to the new TC.. and the only way to do that is for you to set it manually.. Auto can mess this up by selecting adjacent channels. It does not work perfectly.
Use wireless names that are short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Different to your previous setup if you were already following this rule.
Set up a different name for 5ghz so you can control both 100%
    Set wireless channels .. for 2.4ghz try 11, 6, 1 in turn.
For 5ghz set to say 40 and again 150.. a few channels either side of that.. but recognise the new AC will use a lot of channels .. you need to be very far  away from the channels it is using .. 80mhz is used by AC.
The Apple website is much worse after Maintenance than before.. it now says it has failed to post and try again.. voila.. two posts.. sorry.. this is entirely Apple's idea of a fix.

  • When trying to update iPhone 4 to IOS 4.3, keep getting  "network connection timeout" message.  Help!

Using iTunes and my iPhone 4 IOS 4.1 I keep getting a "network connection timed out" message.  At a lost on what to due.
    Any help appreciated.

HUGELY FRUSTRATING!! Getting a "network connection timed out" error after waiting three hours for the download to complete is unacceptable.  Had this problem running Windows 7 on an HP wireless laptop, IE 8, and Microsoft Security Essentials as my anti-virus.  I had  just updated my iTunes to the latest version so I didn't want to wipe out the whole thing and re-download as some boards suggested (I'd also tried that last year on another computer that did the same thing on an iPod update - didn't work).  I also did not want to totally disable my anti-virus program.
After reading many discussions online about the problem, here's what worked for me on the first try.  You need to add some Apple and Verisign addresses to your Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer:
In Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options, Security tab.  Click on Trusted sites, then click the Sites button. I also unchecked the "disable server verification (https) for all sites in this zone" box (under the box that will show your trusted sites).  Here's what I added.  (The underlining here is not mine - done by this site reading my entries as internet addresses.  They won't underline  when you enter them in trusted sites):
    http://albert.apple.com
    http://ax.itunes.apple.com
    http://deimos3.apple.com
    http://evintl-ocsp.verisign.com
    http://evsecure-ocsp.verisign.com
    http://gs.apple.com
    http://itunes.apple.com
    http://phobos.apple.com
Worked like a charm!!  This list was culled from several posts from several different discussion forums. I then closed out IE, restarted my computer (just in case :-) ),and updated through iTunes without a problem!

  • Airport does not detect wireless network; it says problem = [network]"connection timeout"

It is not a problem of signal strength, and my Airport detects other networks. It used to detect the network I want to connect to, for two years. It suddenly stopped detecting the network (which is WPA Personal password-protected). When I select choose other network and type in the password, it won't connect to it claiming "connection timeout."
This happened before. Then after several days, Airport was able to detect and connect to the network I want. Now it again won't detect the network, and this seems permanent short of taking measures to address the problem. Should I try connecting manually to the network, and hodo I got about that? Thank you to anyone out there ho might be able to help.

i have a macmini (OS 10.5) and use a belkin wireless router. When I turn on Mac address filtering on the router I have an Intermittent problem. The airport does not recognize the wireless network. On the network preferences panel there is a message that the airport is using a self assigned IP address. sometimes the message says the airport has no IP address. If I turn off the Mac address filtering and use a WAP password only the network is recognised and connects without a problem. How do I resolve this? I dont have the problem with a iBook using system 10.4. Is turning off the Mac address filtering secur?

I tried completely uninstalling Itunes and Bonjor est. (all Apple software) and downloaded a new copy and installed it.
I tried turning off my fire wall completely.
None of my other internet accessing software is having any problems.
