Network Controller for Lenovo N100 3000 0768-EJU running XP PRO

I am sorry to bug people with this but I am SO frustrated with this.  I have tried everything I can including what I think to have been to load all drivers from the support site.  I cannot get my networking to work and keep getting the message that the network controller is not installed.  I cannot find the drivers to satisfy this thing and get my networking going.  Can someone possibly tell me exactly what to do to solve this and show me the exact driver I need.
I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks in advance for being there to help me!

Hi.  I'm having the same problem with mine - only mine is an 0768 -4ju.  I installed ubuntu 10.4, so that it double boots and am able to access the wireless without a problem as long as I am in ubuntu.  but windows refuses to recognize many of my drivers that it needs,  even though i have done everything to install them.
lenovo wanted the power management app installed to test my battery, which it now says is not installed - go figure.
I can give you the links and info on how to do it.
I basically installed it within windows to get it to work.
Hope this helps.

• No driver detected for network controller for - Pavilion dv6-6188ca

I had to reinstall windows 7 pro OS as my notebook I it was not able to boot up.  I did not use recovery CDs.  I used windows 7 pro install CD and with a valid product key, Now everything works except for wireless LAN.
Under device manager I have yellow mark for network controller and says driver not found. I tried all drivers listed for this model from HP support site but without any luck. (there are 8 network driver listed for this model on HP support site)  Moreover there is no specific driver listed as "Network controller" on HP site.  My notebook uses Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and 2070 Blutooth 2.1 adaptor (combined). Bluethooth is working fine as it is able to see other blutooth devices in the vicinity.
How I can I fix this? Where can I  find the  driver for the network controller for this device? Any help would be highly appreciated. I havn't tried to connect through LAN and let windows look for appropriate driver for this notebook.

• BIOS Update for Lenovo N200 3000 0769-ASU

Hello,
I want to upgrade my hard drive but I must upgrade my BIOS, but I cannot find a BIOS Update for Lenovo N200 3000 0769-ASU with Windows 7, any help or assistance is appreciated.

Sorry for replying to an old post but I found one of theese laptops a couple of days ago where I work. (I work at a recycle station/place/something)
I decided that I wanted to try and fix it since it suffers from the issue discussed here.
I have about 15 yrs experiance with fixing computers and about 3 years with laptops and my repair succes rate is rather high.
But this laptop is a piece of very bad and **bleep**ty workmanship - The whole upper part of the mainboard is toast - the part that is just under the connection to the batteri is badly burned.
I will upload some pictures shortly, and give a detailed workaround if I get it fixed
cheers

• Thinkpad T43p (2668-G4G) Network Controller and Biometric Coprocessor issues on Win XP Pro install

Hi all,
I am new the the forum but I guess its time time to recognise my defeat and send out a distress signal: Mayday Mayday Mayday...
INTRO
My original HDD (Hitachi 7,200 rpm IDE) crashed a few days ago so I repaced it with a WD 160GB drive (5,400 rpm).  I always get a firmware message on start up and I could only partition 130GB (not the full 160GB).  This I have read from various forums is a common problem with the Thinkpads and that it wont really affect the performance of my T43p... any comments?
THE REAL PROBLEM
I then restored the laptop with Win XP Pro and SP2+SP3 and all relevant updates (I have done this on numerous times and once before with this T43p without problems) and then setup all the Lenovo Drivers I could find pertaining to this model [2668-G4G]. I've got everything up and running EXCEPT the Wifi.  I've tried everything but just cant get it to work.  I used System Update, I tried downloading and installing in different order, I've removed the Access Connections etc. etc.  None of the Drivers on the Lenovo website seem to work for me.  I even tried using older versions of the Drivers, which I compiled on a CD last time I restored my T43p but even that doesn't work.  When I check the Device Manager there are always two yellow alert signes referring to Biometric Coprocessor and Network Controller.
Has anybody had these problems before and managed to resolve them?
The HDD issue is not as crucial I guess but if anybody has a solution to that I'd be greatful.

• Bios Error/USB error Lenovo N100 3000

Hey Guys,
Seems I'm just having bad luck with computers this week.  I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 Series Laptop that I believe did a rollback on the original BIOS version.   I've tried to find the error/solution online to no avail but here goes.
The computer currently only starts up and performs a self test and states the following error
Keyboard Initialized....
Mouse failed to Initialize...
Error 0701: USB Over Current On HC/Port - Bus:00H Dev :1DH Fun:01H / Port:00H
Error 0701: USB Over Current On HC/Port - Bus:00H Dev :1DH Fun:02H / Port:00H
Press F1 For Setup, Press F12 For Boot Device Selection Menu
Well, F1 takes me into the Bios, all looks well. It says to enter System Settings press F1 and you can review the bios/boot sequence etc. And F12 Does nothing.
The current BIOS (63ET62WW) should be on Version 3.11 for Windows Vista Home Edition but currently only shows the original 1.08 version.
I am also unable to enter my startup recovery "program" via the Lenovo Care partition to just do a system recover or repair.  I don't even have the options to start up in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, Last Known good Configuration, or  Start windows normally.
What I speculate is that I should be able to "flash" the bios (i know very little about computers and am worried i might kill the system).  Unfortunately Lenovo's website has an executable file that is the Bios Update Utility that runs in windows.  Obviously since I can't get to the desktop this program is rendered useless.  I looked around the net to see if I could extract the files and put them on a boot cd.  (Don't know if thats even possible)  Another thing to note is there are alot of files that I extracted and am unsure which are essential vs. only for the update utility tool.
This is the link for my specific device as something to reference
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-67008.html
On the website the most recent Version of the bios 3.12 is for XP only just as a heads up so i scrolled to the bottom to see previous bios updates...
Thanks in advance for your help.

My message says after booting:
Mouse initialized.
ERROR
0701: USB Over Current On HC/Port - Bus:00H Dev: 1DH Fun:01H / Port:00H
ERROR
0701: USB Over Current On HC/Port - Bus:00H Dev: 1DH Fun:02H / Port:00H
Press F1 for setup (which works and takes me to Bios version 1.08
Press F12 for boot devices (nothing happens)
Also pressing the Lenovo button does not work.
I had a tamper virus which took a hold of my computer and applications. I tried to do a restore from the Lenovo Care and this is the message I now get. I may have had a USB pen drive plugged in when this re-store took place.
I've tried booting from the XP windows disc but the cd drive doesn't kick all the way in.
How can I get my computer back????
Plse help

• Frequent Shutdown of Lenovo n100 3000 laptop

Hi,
I have had a lenovo 3000 N100 for the last 3 years. For the first year it worked pretty well, but since the last year it seems to shutdown frequently on its own. Just before it shuts down I can hear the fan whirring furiously. It seems its a heating problem but I could be wrong. I was wondering if others also faced something similar and if there is a solution to this?
Thanks for your help.
Regards

Turn your laptop over.
Remove the battery.
Remove the cover over the CPU heatsink/fan. (upper right)
Blow out any dust/debris with compressed air.
Dust builds up in the fins of the heatsink, and may cause overheating.

• Network Controller driver for T42p not working

We have a T42p (type 2373-HTU) that had a new copy of WinXP Pro installed on it, wired network is working but wireless is NOT working.
In Device Manager, the network adaptor is showing up as working and it is (Intel PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection) working fine on a wired connection.  The Bluetooth works when you Fn-F5 it on. My problem is that the Network Controller has the infamous yellow question mark on it and I have been through every single driver on the Lenova site for this particular laptop (2373-HTU) and none of them work.  I did follow the install instructions and still have the same problem.  I assume this is why the wireless networking is not working. I do have an icon in Control Panel for Wireless Network setup wizard. There is no off/on switch for wireless on this model. I have been in the BIOS and there is no way to turn wireless off/on in there either.  As far as I know ... this particular model does have a wireless card installed.

Welcome to the forum! These were the original specs of your T42p:
P M 745, 1GB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD, 15 UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner(slim), Intel 802.11b wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, 9 cell Li-Ion Batt, WinXP Pro
The driver, presuming you're running XP:
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/1rwc89ww.exe
After downloading and extracting the driver, you must go into C>Drivers>Win>Wlanint and run the setup file from there.
Quite a few users have reported issues with Intel 2100B card under XP SP3. You may want to consider getting a newer card, they are quite inexpensive nowadays.
Good luck and keep us posted.

• No network controller driver for Portege R500 (Windows XP)

Hello
I don't quite understand why Toshiba does not provide the necessary drivers to make a new Portege R500 WLAN work. I have absolutely no wireless networking capability, as if the switch was turned off, and I have a yellow question mark in the Windows Device Manager ("Other devices", "Network Controller"). Windows does not find a driver on the two restoration CDs and trying to install everything from http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads doesn't help neither.
Has anybody managed to find drivers to correct this "Network Controller" problem for an R500 under Windows XP? Maybe my unit has a hardware defect, because I can't believe that WLAN support for XP is not provided out of the box or at the very least by downloading files on the Toshiba support site
Thank you
Olivier

Hello
Reading your posting one thing is strange for me. Can you please explain to me what you mean with: Windows does not find a driver on the two restoration CDs.???
As far as I know restoration CD/DVD is not a kind of driver collection but recovery image that you can use for clean operating system installation. Can you please tell me which restoration (recovery) CDs you have? Are both of them for one operating system or you got one for Vista and other for WXP.
I have checked Toshiba support page and there is listed WLAN driver version 11.5.0.32 / 9.0.4.37. Download it and unzip the driver files and before you start installation check readme.txt file at first.
By the way, for WXP installation please use Installations Instructions document and follow listed installations order.

• Network controller and pci device driver missing for Toshiba Sattelite c55t b5109

After resetting windows 8.1, I only my ethernet works and I cant turn my wifi. I looked in the device manger, and under "unknown devices" are listed Network Controller and PCI Device with yellow alerts near them. I know that these are related to the wireless card, but everytime I try to update them they say that there is no driver for them.
These are their hardware id's:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5229&CC_FF0000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5229&CC_FF00
PLEASE HELP!!!!

search your laptop for the Toshiba application installer, open it and use it to install your Wireles lan driver.
The application installer is easier than guessing which one you need from your support page.
OR
Your support page is here - http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200008391
You can select the drivers tab then down the page on the left hand side select Windows 8.1 64 bit to narrow down the drivers for your operating system. Then also select Wifi and the available drivers will be displayed.
If you are getting a corrupted system after a reset your hard drive may be failing or your recovery partition may have been corrupted .  Create your recovery media if you have not done so already.

If you are using Windows Vista go to All Programs/Palm and click on the folder and select Hot Sync Manager and then try to sync with the USB cable. If you are using the Windows XP go to Start/Programs/Palm/Hot Sync Manager and then try to sync. If you don’t have the palm folder at all on your PC you have to install it. Here is the link http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/33219_en.html that version 4.2.1 will be working for your device Zire 72.
