NETWORK CONTROLLER PROBLEM IBM R50E, SYSTEM MODEL 1834EA6

DOES ANYBODY KNOW, WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER WITH THIS MODEL? THANKS...

Hi
I found the link I used through my history page.
remember i am using windows 2000 operating system and this worked for me.
If it doesnt work you could try similar toshiba models for the sdformat drivers, i found some under toshiba satelite pro-try different ones- you might get lucky- i did alot of trial and error to get mine working.
Anyway i got the file from toshiba ca website on this link, cant remember how i got there:
http://209.167.114.38/support/download/files_downloads/s2410/s241bxsd.exe
I unzipped the file then ran the .exe file, once this was done the base system came up as :
toshiba sd card controller type a
Then I selected it to update drivers and selected the s241bxsd folder and it found the .inf file
the sd card works a treat- picks up the sdcard as a removable drive.
Good luck.

  • T41 has Network Controller problem

I was given a T41 2373-7JU that I loaded with XP Pro. My problem is it will not  connect to the internet via it's browser. In Device Manager it shows a Network Controller problem and I've been unable to correct this no matter how many different drivers I've tried. Also, how do I tell if there's an internal  wireless card inside?  It did connect to the internet earlier today using my USB adaptor but now I can't even do that anymore. I've tried a dozen or so solutions without any success so where should I go from here?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Following are the drivers you need for Ethernet and wifi card (and yes, as per support page there's an internal card installed in your system):-
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62922
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-42683
To install the drivers successfully, you need to run the .exe setups from C:\Drivers.... for each device after the first setup completes.
For ethernet, the setup is in C:\DRIVERS\Win\ETHERNET\PRO1000\Win32 and for wifi C:\DRIVERS\WLLANCSC.
    Hope this helps.

  • T42 Ethernet and Network controller problems

I am fairly new to computers and obtained a T42 for my grandson. Please bear with me as I am rather Techno challenged and battled now for 2 days getting internet connection. Had to do a clean XP SP2 installation and landed up with a host of Other devices issues with Yellow Question marks. Have downloaded most drivers from http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads with various success. Need serious help here please.
In Device manager I am sitting with two unresolved issues under Other Devices
    Ethernet Controller PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_167D&SUBSYS_05771014&REV11\4&111A1FD8&0&00E0
    AND
    Network Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4224&SUSYS_1011808&REV_05\4&AD1B67F&0&10F0
I have downloaded various drivers but still cannot get them to work. Not sure which of the drivers to use.
    In another forum somebody replied
The Intel PRO/1000 is an ethernet controller. Once you get that installed and establish a network connection, you can download and install MS dotnetfx and Lenovo System Update which will download and install all the other drivers automatically. Or just download them yourself and manually install them.
Not very helpful as I could not figure ou thow to install as the drivers that I downloaded did not fix this and no further help from them when I questioned this
Please if someone here will give us some step by step directions. The model is 2373-L77 if that will help

Checked the "DEV_" # on www.pcidatabase.com
upper: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet driver (it seems, you have a T43-System Board in your T42 or you have a T43).
lower: 802.11a/b/g WLan adapter driver (Intel 2915 Wireless LAN adapter)
Please find the installation instructions on the linked pages. Executing the downloaded packages extracts them only to C:\DRIVERS\WIN\xxx.
Starting there you'll need to execute the setup as described on the download page.

  • NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller problem

Hi, I am a new user of Solaris and Linux and I am having a problem with my internet connection under solaris.... i was reading other messages in the forum and apparently solaris doesn't detect my network adapter because when i run ifconfig -a it only shows lo0....
I went to nvidia.com but the drivers on their website are only for the graphics card... where can i get the requiered drivers (and how do i install them under solaris) for my internet connection to work???
i have a NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller and connect to the internet using road runner trough a router...
    thanks...
    Javisam376

Hi, I am a new user of Solaris and Linux and and I am having a problem with my internet connection under solaris...<snip>
    Javisam376
    Hi,
Same problem here Javisam376, but I am on an AMD x64 platform, and wondered if that might be the reason why the Solaris Express Developer Edition was unable to see the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller, so I wonder which platform you're on (32 or 64-bits?) A general Google search for "Solaris NVIDIA nForce Networking problem" gave a fair number of hits, so the problem, seems well known, but no solutions were suggested by anybody, as far as I could see(!?)
But it seems the Linux community has the same problem, since I found this posting on LinuxQuestions.org (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=471094):
"I just finished installing Red Hat 9 on my machine, which is running off of an AMD/NVIDIA nForce2 chipset mobo that has integrated ethernet. I was trying to set up my network connection, but was unable to locate the nvida ethernet controller in the Network app/Network Configuration Wizard. So I went on to nvidia's site and downloaded the x86 linux driver (using my other machine) and used a cd to pop it into the other comp... Saved it to the desktop,
    then terminaled: sh NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0310-pkg1.run.
It took me through a setup screen where I 'installed a audio and ethernet driver'. I checked the Network wiz again, still no entry for it. So I randomly clicked the hardware browser, and IT lists the 'nForce2 Ethernet Controller' under network devices, but I can't configure it from this screen. Anyway, I would seriously appreciate any help with this. I need to get internet access on this machine quick, so this is drivin' me crazy."

  • No network controller driver for Portege R500 (Windows XP)

    Hello
I don't quite understand why Toshiba does not provide the necessary drivers to make a new Portege R500 WLAN work. I have absolutely no wireless networking capability, as if the switch was turned off, and I have a yellow question mark in the Windows Device Manager ("Other devices", "Network Controller"). Windows does not find a driver on the two restoration CDs and trying to install everything from http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads doesn't help neither.
Has anybody managed to find drivers to correct this "Network Controller" problem for an R500 under Windows XP? Maybe my unit has a hardware defect, because I can't believe that WLAN support for XP is not provided out of the box or at the very least by downloading files on the Toshiba support site
    Thank you
    Olivier

    Hello
Reading your posting one thing is strange for me. Can you please explain to me what you mean with: Windows does not find a driver on the two restoration CDs.???
As far as I know restoration CD/DVD is not a kind of driver collection but recovery image that you can use for clean operating system installation. Can you please tell me which restoration (recovery) CDs you have? Are both of them for one operating system or you got one for Vista and other for WXP.
I have checked Toshiba support page and there is listed WLAN driver version 11.5.0.32 / 9.0.4.37. Download it and unzip the driver files and before you start installation check readme.txt file at first.
By the way, for WXP installation please use Installations Instructions document and follow listed installations order.

  • Thinkpad T43p (2668-G4G) Network Controller and Biometric Coprocessor issues on Win XP Pro install

    Hi all,
I am new the the forum but I guess its time time to recognise my defeat and send out a distress signal: Mayday Mayday Mayday...
    INTRO
My original HDD (Hitachi 7,200 rpm IDE) crashed a few days ago so I repaced it with a WD 160GB drive (5,400 rpm).  I always get a firmware message on start up and I could only partition 130GB (not the full 160GB).  This I have read from various forums is a common problem with the Thinkpads and that it wont really affect the performance of my T43p... any comments?
    THE REAL PROBLEM
I then restored the laptop with Win XP Pro and SP2+SP3 and all relevant updates (I have done this on numerous times and once before with this T43p without problems) and then setup all the Lenovo Drivers I could find pertaining to this model [2668-G4G]. I've got everything up and running EXCEPT the Wifi.  I've tried everything but just cant get it to work.  I used System Update, I tried downloading and installing in different order, I've removed the Access Connections etc. etc.  None of the Drivers on the Lenovo website seem to work for me.  I even tried using older versions of the Drivers, which I compiled on a CD last time I restored my T43p but even that doesn't work.  When I check the Device Manager there are always two yellow alert signes referring to Biometric Coprocessor and Network Controller.
Has anybody had these problems before and managed to resolve them?
The HDD issue is not as crucial I guess but if anybody has a solution to that I'd be greatful.

    Thanks,

I had already written a book and I did not want to bombard people with more information, but in my previous research I did come across the major issues with the NVIDIA card.  I also was well aware that Apple offered a replacement program that ended in December of 2012.  I was going to add that in my original post, but I discounted that theory because I put my faith in the so called "Apple Genius" when I made my second trip to the Apple Store.  I brought the NVIDIA card issue to his attention and asked him if he thought that may be the problem, but he said no.  He said if it was the NVIDIA card that the screen would be completely black and there would be no startup chime.  When I experienced the screen issues I thought it was a problem with the NVIDIA card or the logic board.  I asked myself, how can a flawed hard drive cause the screen to act funny.
nbar and Rick Warren, I thank you both for your help and insight; people like you are the real "Apple Geniuses."  I was hoping there was a way I could wipe the hard drive before I dumped the computer or attempted to sell it.  I guess I will look into purchasing a new machine when I have the funds.  Again...thank you both!

  • Weird Problems with K9A2 System

    Can Someone Help Me?
I recently built a new system and have had nothing but problems.  See system config in signature (Left off OCZ PRO Xtreme 1000W Power Supply With 4 12 Vrails at a max of 26 Amps each or 82 Amp all together and a 5 Volt rail at 30 Amps Max.) After putting it all (except the seagate 250 IDE drive), system would not even enter post. After strippin memory down to just 2 GB system finally entered post (although my memory were the same models from G.Skill one set was older and one set was new they had different voltages old required 1.9-2.0 while the newer worked at the default 1.8 voltage all timing and specs besides voltage were the same). I entered the bios setup and set my Memory voltage to 1.95 (What I had been runnin the older memory in my old system). Inserted all the memory back in and system booted right up to allow me to install my OS (Vista Home Premium 64-bit).
After the OS installed the system started having all kinds of wierd clitches/problems at one point it locked up and neither reset button nor the power button would work. After unplugging the power I noticed that the M connector for the front case switches was a little loose. I decided to just plug wires directly into board instead of using th M connector. Now my buttons worked again. I then proceded back into the bios and checked my voltages in the hardware monitor of the bios.  All voltages looked to be fine with only an ocassional voltage fluctuation in the 5V line from 4.97 to 4.92 Volts and the 12V line was a little high 12.4 Volts. However, after booting back into vista and installing Everest Ultimate Edition it detected the that the 5 Volt line was only at 4.67 Volts. But was not fluctuating at all.
After installing the drivers for my system and proceding to install my anti-virus software the system started freaking out the mouse started lagging and sometimes not responding at all and the keyboard worked intermittently.  I decided to remove the M connectors from these as well and that solved that problem.  Upon rebooting the system and trying to install the Anti-Virus software again the system started telling me that I had just plugged in something to the audio connector.  I had not so I just ignored it and continued to install my anti-virus.  (the audio connector alert popped up 4X while I was finishing the installation of the software.  I decided to test the audo so I but a DVD in and and watched the whole movie sound worked fine and no more pop ups about the audio connector until I started to install more software.  During the next install of software the screen went black and the DVD and Hard Drive LED stopped flashing. It stayed this way for about 10 Min. I decided to hit the reset button and the system would not enter post again.
Once again I started to pull the Memeory It finnally worked after removing the new memory that I had just bought but none of my Maxtor hard drives were recognized and I started smelling smoke. ( Strange only the Maxtor drives went out, all had the interface boards and one chip on each drive fried.  After disconnecting these drives and replacing the maxtor 120 GB IDE drive that had fried with a Seagate 250 GB IDE drive and reinstalling everyting onto it since the maxtor was my boot drive the system started up and was running fine except for the occasioal audio connector popup I finished Installing the rest of my software and everything was running good.  So I assumed the problems were due to faulty ram. I contacted NewEgg and arranges for an RMA  on the memory went shipped the memory back to NewEgg came back and started to move file some file to my NAS200 After about 4 hours the system locked up again (It had been almost 36 hours since I had had anyother problems with the system and it had not been turned off the whole time. All temps were good CPU was at 29C and GPU was at 46C system temp was 31C according to my Everest Ultimate so I didn't think it was a heat related issue)
Upon restarting my computer I got a message that a recent overclocking attempt had failed (I did not try to overclock!!) After going back into Bios and resetting all my settings the computer would not post agian. I tried to clear the CMOS with the jumper just to make sure that there wasn't any coruption inthe CMOS. Still no Luck. Pulled out one stick of the older ram and it booted but very slow. I went to a local parts dealer and bought some extremely over prived memory just so I could get my system back to 2 GB because I had video edditing software that didn't work very good on 1 GB. After installing no post again. So I started testing each stick of memory that I had in DIMM 1 they all worked but anytime I insert one into DIMM 2 it would not boot.  Finnally I but 2 sticks into DIMM 3&4 and It started up and ran good. I decided to set my bios Unganged option to enabled and put memory back into DIMM 1 No luck would not post. I removed the memory from DIMM 1 and computer has worked ever fine except for an error coming out from sleep mode. (Never had a computer that didn't have a problem with that) I even updated the BIOS to 1.5 which was suppose to fix the wakeup problem.
So here is what I have I can use Dimm 1 by itself or I can use DIMM 3&4 but not both together.  I'm about to buy a Power Supply (single 12V rail at 40 Amps and a 5V rail at 50 Amps) because I think that the 12 V reading as 12.4 and the 5 Volts reading as 4.67 in Everest Ultimate and 4.97 volts in Bios might have something to do with some of my problems.  I did not check the Memory that I RMA'd by them selves on DIMM 3&4.  I think that they may have been good now.
Can the 5V line registering the way it is 4.97 Bios/4.67 in Windows cause DIMM 2 to not function and create the lockups or can the socket or board be bad and that be what is causing this problem?  And Should I RMA the motherboard back or just purchase a different motherboard?
System is pretty Stable as it is now with the voltages as they are.  I really wantt to be able to put my new memory that I get back from NewEgg in and have my 4 GB of memory.

OK I have removed the mother board and and checked for grounding issue or any damage from the fried hard drives board looks good did not find any grounding issues in the case.  One thing I did not check was that I was using a Startech SATA to IDE converter to connect the the IDE drives that I didn't have the connectors on the board or.
I did some research before buying them and made sure to get one with a plastic box around the pcb  due to so many people compaining that their's would short to the hard drive case.  Since the loss of the HDD I didn't need the adapter so I quit Using it.
when I did my research on the adapter I found that many people had said that their HDD got hoter when using the adapter I guess my HDD just couldn't handle it.  The Drive that I had connected with it was about 6 years old and I had been having intermittent problems with the connector not making a good connection when it was in my old system. (Anytime I would shut the power off for a long period of time and the HDD had a chance to cool down I would have to unplug and reconnect the ide cable from that drive.)
I didn't think that the problem would continue as I was moving it to an new case, motherboard, and cable.
And it just so happened that the drives that fried were all connected the the sata controller in the SB600 chip.  My two SATA drives that survied the fire were on the Promise T3 controller.  So I guess it is possible that the adapter/HDD configuration I had with the SATA to IDE caused some sort of feedback into the Motherboard's SATA controller and back into the oter HDD on that Controller.  I have checked all SATA ports since this happened and they all still work so I'm assuming that it did not damage the chip.
As far as the memory  situattion I don't see how the HDD frying could have damaged the Memory unless there is some special connectin between DIMM2 and the SATA controller that doesn't exist with the other DIMM slots. and if it had somehow effected the memory controller to cause this problem I would assume it would have done alot more damage to the cpu than just the memory controller part. So I think I'll try to RMA a new motherboard, if ZippZoomFly will let me this long after getting the board I've had it for about 3.5 weeks waiting on the other parts for the new system) and see what happens.
As for the memory, itself they are not mixed brands or models.  I bought one set about a year ago when I purchased my X2 6000 processor and they have worked great as long as I kept the voltage above  1.9 V.  The new memory has the same model # as the old but the label on them states the same timings and only a different voltage range.  So as long as they voltage was set to within the range of both sets they should work exactly the same.  I did notice that the board would only detect 3.25 GB instead of 4 GB, and I was prepared for this. Every Motherboard I have ever owned, no matter who the Manufacturer was, has had this problem.  However Vista reported the memory correctly.
I guess if the new motherboard exhibits the same memory problem with not letting me use all  slots then i'll buy a 2X2GB set

  • PCI Device and Network Controller uninstalled

Having problems with downloading a pci device and network controller driver for presario cq57? Need help. my hardware id is PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_3577103C&REV_01

    Hi:
You need to install the Realtek Card Reader driver from your notebook's support and driver page for the PCI device.
Please  do the following so I can find out what model wireless card your model uses...
Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category, and click on the Network Controller needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the network controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that begin with PCI\VEN.
