Network error on downloading ios 5.1

I have been trying to upgrade my iPhone 4s since iOS 5.1 was released. However when the software is downloading an error message that says network connection is not available or network timed out comes up and software stops. I tried several computers it did not help. I tried it on a mac i also got the same message. I then tried to upgrade my iPad I got the same error. I am using a Huawei K3765 3G are to connect on the Vodacom network in south Africa. Can somebody help?

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0.3

I have an iPad that is currently on iOS 7.0, I am trying to update to 7.0.3 using the OTA update. I keep getting an error reading "Software Update Failed an error occurred downloading iOS 7.0.3" We have 1100 iPad Retinas and I have only seen this problem on 1 iPad.
These devices came to us pre-enrolled in JAMF's MDM "Casper" using the supervision of apple configurator. These were configurated on a device that we do not have access to and they are set to not allow connection from another Mac so iTunes update is out of the question.
I have attempted the update on several different networks and still no luck. I know it is not Apples servers this time as it has been weeks since the new OS was released and it hasn't failed on any other devices.
It goes all the way through the download and then fails when it says "Preparing". Any ideas of something to try?

What to do after receiving error messages:
A. via mobile:
"Software update failed
An error occurred downloading iOS 8.0"
B. via iTunes...won't even proceed... saying my connection Timed out
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone*** 's
The network connection was reset.
Make sure your network settings are correct
and your network connection is active, or try again later."
Note:
- My connection was working perfectly well during those numerous attempts (probably more than 50 times).
- iPad was updated after 7 attempts

We dont know yet if he is doing it from the phone itself!
If you do from the phone try from iTunes and vice versa.

Software Update Failed An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0

I can't seem to update my iPad mini. Looks like the release of iOS 7 just came out and it's not letting me update. I keep getting a message "Software Update Failed An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0".
Can anyone from apple tell me why I'm getting this message? And how to resolve it.

I've been trying for 2 weeks to update my iPhone 4S (7.0.6) to iOS 7.1 OTA but it fails all the time...telling me software update failed An error occurred downloading iOS 7.1. ..I need some support pls!!

The problem occurres after the downloading is complete and when its in "Preparing Update" procedure and specfically in its last progress (near the end). Suddenly a message pop ups saying that "Software Update Failed" \n "An error occured downloading iOS 7.1."
I've restarted the update process for the 20 th time!!! and reset my iphone twice to factory settings, but still nothing change, same error occures...

Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you can't update the iOS device. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

I can not get the phone to update the OS? I tried different wifi points, and still no luck. I tried this at least 6 times with the same result. It looks to download, and then says it is 'preparing' for a while, and then it pukes out the message "Software Update Failed An error occurred downloading iOS 8.1.3". Anyone know how to resolve this? Did you try updating with the iPad directly?
You need Wi-Fi connection and power supply from the wall socket.
Or through the computer iTunes?
If computer iTunes, make sure your anti-virus and firewall are off before you try.
