Network/IP camera (Toshiba IK WB15A)

How or can I configure a network camera (Toshiba IK WB15A) to stream/broadcast to my flash media server 3.51?  Thanks in advance?

I am not sure if you can connect to a network camera using flash. Flash needs the camera to be connected to the physical system. When cam is connected to the system you can get the feed from cam using Camera.get() API.
How do you access the camera feed on a computer irrespective of Flash.
Please let me know?
Thanks

  • What changed in Firefox versions 15,16 & 17 while viewing network security cameras?

I have been viewing my network Axis security camera's over my local area network for years with Firefox. After update version 15, I can only view the image for a few seconds before I have to reload the page because the image will disappear. The camera's server stays up, but the video image is gone, and telling me to reload page. After a reload it comes back in. Sometimes it will only last 5 sec's, other times between 30 & 60 sec's. If I downgrade to version 14.0.1, it all works fine like it should again. Am I doomed to use this version now forever? Or is there a way to tweak the newer version to let me view the video image longer?
Camera's video image is in Motion JPEG format and I have the latest Java & flash installed. I also have tried Firefox with all plugins disabled and it still don't help. I have 64 bit Windows 7 for operating system.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • (Slow Network): iSight camera not working in iChat since Leopard upgrade

I have a different type of iChat video issue. My Power Mac G4, 867 MHz, 1 GB DRAM is a supported Mac for the Leopard upgrade. I've successfully installed OS 10.5.
Also my Power Mac meets the iChat Conferencing Requirements for 1-on-1 Video Chat per the OS 10.5 system requirements and the application note here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301050
My iSight camera is connected via Firewire to an Apple Cinema Display, which feeds back to the Power Mac G4.
    1) When I boot from my 10.3.9 Carbon Copy Cloner backup my iSight works in iChat (at least locally to see myself) without any issue. Green light comes on and shows me locally on video and audio sound bars. Before the OS upgrade the iSight worked fine for live video conferences with iChat 2.1.3 under Mac OS 10.3.9
    2) Running OS 10.5 when I go to iChat 4.0's preferences video pane the following message is waiting "This computer does not support video conferencing."
    3) With Leopard iChat 4.0 the Connector Doctor under "capabilities" says "(Slow Network)" for 1-on-1 Video Chat and won't even show video locally or turn on the iSight's green light.

    Fixed!
My Power Mac Quicksilver G4, 867 MHz. problem with (Slow Network) in the iChat Connection Doctor, no video preview or video iChat since upgrading to OS 10.5 Leopard and iChat 4.0 has been solved with the following posted towards the end of the thread below. I can finally see my video preview with iChat 4.0 and have also video chatted successfully with one other user.

  • How do I find IP address of Network WiFi Camera?

I bought a wireless network camera to provide remote viewing of a part of my property. I set it up quickly using my AEBS and had no problem viewing the video on my local network (10.0.1.X addresses).
I'd like to use the camera on the internet. I access the net via a WiFi "hotspot" that covers my house/property. It seems if I could only figure out what IP address my ISP assigns to my netcam, I could assign it to my dynamic dns provider and all would be well -- but I can't figure out how to do this.
    Any suggestions?
I've set up the camera to log in, and then pinged from xxx.xxx.xxx.10 to 140 on my ISP address pool, but can't get my webcam webserver to show up.
    Thanks

Thanks. You've given me a better synopsis than what I've found browsing the web. But on my camera I can configure it with the login creditials for my PPPoE service, so I just assumed it would authenticate with the remote wireless access point and get an IP like my computer does.
The camera is a TRENDnet TV-IP200W, which has a built in web server, as you say. It also has accomodation for the dynamic DNS service in the system configuration page on the camera "system" page. But, as I say, after I set all that up, I can't ever get back to the camera to tell if it really took or not.
I resort to plugging into the Ethernet port and the default IP address which gets me right in...I can reset the camera IP to something other than the default and get to it using my ethernet or local wireless -- so it seems to get the word on DHCP assignment.
Regarding port forwarding. Not sure how to deal with this. If I had an idea how to make my AEBS act as a bridge or remote base for the WiFi, things would go more smoothly, but I've not figured that one out in a couple of years.
This leaves me with a camera on a 10.0.1.X network needing to pass images/video to a network with a 66.84.90.XXX address scheme. The overlapping part being either my imac, the camera, or my AEBS if I could work that magic.
Appreciate your brain cell application thus far.

  • IP/Network Camera Support ?

    Hello All
Could anyone please tell me whether Flash player supports IP
/ Network based cameras ? I have been trying to configure but I
couldn't find any other API other than Camera.get().
Is there any other way of configuring such cameras ? Does
future release of Flash support IP based cameras?
Please share your thoughts on this.
    Many thanks,
    -Sakthik

There was a discussion about this over on Flashcomguru not so
long ago. What you need is an IP camera with an embedded webserver
and the FLash VM. The FLash VM can act as a Flash client, which
would allow you to make the netconnection.
If you hppen to find an appropriately equipped IP cam, please
post about it here. I"m, sure there's others who'd like to know
    about it.

  • Wireless Network Camera

Hi there, i'm in need of some help.
I need to set up a wireless network camera for some home security.
I've been recommended some software called Security Spy, i just need a cost effective indoor camera which is pointing outside through he window. Ideally it needs to have motion detection, but to be honest I really don't know that much about them and I'm getting desperate. Can anyone point me in the right direction of someone who sells Mac network compatible cameras please, any help or advice will be massively appreciated thank you all.

    evocam isn't bad...
it uses your inbult isight cam or a web cam
you can set up either static shots or constant video feed over http:// or even ftp
otherwise there are lots of IT/electronic companies that sell basic IP cameras ~AU$200 pretty easy to set up and often come with software based motion detection

  • Need help configuring Aiport Extreme A1034 to optimize network signal.

Greetings, I am a very loyal mac user from back in the days of the Quadra 650. I have torn apart and fixed most macs for the last 13, but I must say configuring this wireless network has got me stumped. Any help would be gladly appreciated.
I went from a ibook 1 Ghz with a plastic case to a aluminum powerbook g4 1.67 to find out that the metal case greatly diminished the computers ability to receive a wifi signal from my Rv park. I then decided to buy an Airport Extreme A1034 that has the antenna port and then bought a Hawking 15db directional antenna. My intention was to have the Airport Base station receive the 802.11b wifi signal sent out from the office of the RV park through the Hawking antenna, and then have the base station take that signal it received and send that high speed wifi signal to the airport card in my Powerbook G4. Sounds simple enough, I thought it would be. I have found that using Airport set up assistant doesn't give me that option. I then proceeded to get into the workings of the Airport Admin Utility. I have found myself ready to pull my hair out trying to configure the 6 different tabs being, Airport , Internet, Network, Port Mapping, Access control, and WDS.
I do know that everything in the Airport tab is correct. The big problem I think is between the Internet, Network and WDS tabs. It seems that the Airport base station was basically made to have a high speed connection plugged into it via ethernet and then the base station broadcasts to host computers such as my PowerBook G4. My initial thought was to connect via Airport WDS in the internet tab and then set my powerbook to connect directly to the base station through the airport card. I read up on this via Apples Designing Airport networks that came on the Airport installation CD. It talked in detail about setting up the WDS tab to do something like I want but it still involves a hard wired ethernet connection at the start of it. I have also played around extensively with the Network control panel and the sharing control panel , I thought about turning the airport card inside my powerbook into a software or virtual base station and then try some sort of WDS relay. Through all this I had the Airport extreme go none responsive on me and not letting me log in. That's another story of 10 hours of **** fixing it, but i did. Even the reset button stopped working for a while. As of now I can access everything everywhere. I also have ALL the IP addresses Hardware(MAC) address, subnet masks and router addresses for every location in this proposed wireless chain. I just need someone to end this stressful nightmare. They say you learn through trial and error, that is how I learned most of my computer skills over the decades, that and Applecare certified tech training many years ago, But it doesn't help anyone if I stick a large knife through my base station. I can provide a phone number if your willing to call. My email is [email protected] . If your in the San Diego area, I can get ya free passes to the nudist colony where I live, if your in for a new adventure in turn for setting up this network for me. Check out http://www.deanzasprings.com . its where I live.
    Rich

    1. First, can someone confirm that the Extreme card be used as a WDS main base?
Sorry, but no you cannot use the AirPort Extreme card in a WDS as either a main, relay or remote base station. It does not support this function.

  • Can you open a closed network?

I can no longer access the secure wi fi network set up on my Mac Pro, and must use  the (insecure) network that came with my router. The regular network name doesn't show as an available network, but I know it is still there because both the name and security type appear  when I click "advanced" on System Preferences/Network. I have apparently changed my regular network to "closed" by accident.
I have tried unsuccessfully to sign in as "other network", providing security type and passwork, but it doesn't work.
I need a way to open this closed network. Is this possible?  How?
If it is impossible, what must I do to start over?

I have apparently changed my regular network to "closed" by accident.
Or the network is no longer available, temporarly shut down, or you were purposely locked out.  Contact the network admin.

  • Problems setting up Time Machine using a network drive

I am having problems setting up TimeMachine on my Mac Mini to work with a WD MyBookLive network drive.  The network drive came with a TimeMachineBackup shared folder preconfigured.  When I first connected the drive to the router and turned on TimeMachine, the TimeMachineBackups appeared as an option when I did "Select Backup Disk" from TimeMachine Preferences.
I managed to successfully connect to the drive and start a backup running.  However the backup hit a problem and I started getting an error that the "disk was already in use".  I therefore tried to remove the disk to try and start again.  Hoever when I now do go into "Select Backup Disk" from TimeMachine Preferences the shared folder on the drive no longer apperas and I only get the option to serach for an Time Capsule.
If I go into Finder, the MyBookLive shows up as a connected Device with all its shared folders showing (including the TimeMachineBackup folder)  and my Mac is definitely connected to the drive.  How do I get the Drive & TimeCapsuleBackup shared folder to reappear in TimeMachine Preferences so that I can select it as the destination for my backups?

Check around the forum, you are one of very very many. It doesn't matter what WD say, do you see a Certified by Apple notice on it?

  • Read posts but still can't resolve my mac/pc networking issues :(

    Hi everyone,
I'll get right to it. I have a G4 10.4.7 imac which I've had hooked up to Westell Wirespeed dsl modem (allows up to 253 users when networked, Verizon provided modem and dsl service) via ethernet. Yesterday, I bought new a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4074 Notebook. 802.11 a/b/g enabled. Today, I bought a Lynksis Wireless-G broadband router in order to set up a little network.
Problem - I connected the Lynksis to the Westell modem and my imac to the to one of the four ethernet ports on the back of the Lynksis. I turned on my notebook, for the first time, did the set up wizard for the notebook. Then I did the Lynksis set up wizard for wireless connection to the internet (notebook wireless button was switched to the "on" position). I'm able to get signal on the notebook but I'm not able to completely connect (can't access the internet or web pages).
    AND
My imac won't connect at all while set up as I described above.
The Lynksis does describe specifically PC compatibility but not Mac. I didn't think that would matter as I'm connecting the imac via ethernet cable to the Lynksis.
My limited connection on the notebook also is not a secure connection. I'm limited on my PC knowledge and even though I haven't looked into this issue, I think that should be easy to make secure but I would also appreciate your input on correcting the security of the connection (just in case it's not as easy as I think). The Lynksis has a one touch "secure easy set-up" button on the front of it, but I'm obviously missing something(s) because I don't have a secure connection.
    I'd appreciate your help guy's.
    Thanks.
    Vanessa

From your description is that you've got both the Westell and the LinkSys acting as a NAT device.
Since the Westell modem allows you to have up to 253 devices on it's 'internal' network it's clear that it's using NAT (Network Address Translation) to share a single IP address from your ISP amongst those 253 devices.
Now what you've done is added a LinkSys router into the loop using one of those 253 addresses. The default setup for the LinkSys is to do the same thing - take a single IP address from an upstream device (in this case the Westell modem) and share it amongst another 253 devices using NAT. That's likely to be your problem.
You would be far better off configuring the LinkSys as a simple bridge rather than a router - that way it simply links the wireless network (including the Toshiba laptop) with the wired network (which includes the Westell, the iMac, and any other devices on the network).
In this setup the Westell will continue to use NAT and essentially control the network, and everything should work much better.
Check the LinkSys documentation for details on how to turn on its bridging mode.

  • Unable to add HP Laserjet 4250 printer to my network

I've obtained an HP LaserJet 4250 printer to add to my home network. Plugged in the network cable, came up as an option on my "add printer" list. Clicked, was recognized, added to menu. When I try to print, item hangs in the print que and nothing happens. Printing out settings page from the printer, it appears the printer has an IP address not on my network! How to change the address. BTW, how do I find a list of IP addresses assigned by by Airport Extreme? It no longer seems to be an option in Airport Utility (v6.2)!
Using Mountain Lion (OS 10.8.3), iMac, Airport Extreme/Time Machine connected to Netgear ProSafe Gigabit switch.

Download the latest Driver and install it could solve the problem.
