Network magic can't find my router

I'm using WAG320N  with network pro 5.5 was working alright
yesterday it asked me to upgrade / buy new version  or install old version 5.5 again.
I followed step to install again , then software can't find my router even internet / network worked alright but only Network Magic doesn't work since re-install
what's wrong with it?
do I have to re-install everytime NM has upgrade? it's annoying

  • NETWORK MAGIC DOESN'T FIND ROUTER AT ALL

Just decidced to upgrade from WRT310N to E4200 model now i can use my network magic at all which has a way better interface and meny map than that of the menu system for the E4200 ...
is Network Magic compatble at all with the E4200 model ???

Hi, MSE was released after NM 5.5.  Wait till the next update for full support.
    My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008
Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.

  • Network Magic can't even solve it's own licensing problem?

What's the deal with NM and Cisco?
So I try and install NM and it reports it can't connect to it's own licensing server..  Brilliant.
Then I try to open a ticket and it tells me I need to download the .2 version of the app and does not open the ticket...
So I follow the link, download and install and yes, I guessed it, it's the same non .2 version... Brilliant..
    Very not impressive folks...
    What is the deal?

  • Removed a connection from network map, can not find again

I removed a home computer from the network map, intending to block access. While I did achieve that, I am now trying to remove the block and allow the computer to reconnect. There seems to be no way possible to do this. Everywhere I search has told me to simply remove the intruder status from the network map, but the computer I'm trying to unblock does not show up on the map whatsoever. I've reinstalled my router, and that affected nothing. Is there another way to completely revert the router to factory default? Or is there some piece in the software that could fix this that I am not seeing? The computer's OS is Vista-32bit (that can not connect).
    Thanks for your help,
    Steve.

  • My iphone can not find my router

    Hi!
What am I doing wrong. My Iphone can not find my wireless router and I know, that I write the password correctly, when it's asking for it.
It comes back with the message: Can not establish connection to router.
    Please help me.
    Regards
    Lonni

This is happening to me too (sorry I am not an answer)
Mine worked fine and then I begun to notice that the wifi had dropped. I initially could reconnect in wifi settings but now it says 'not connected' and is stuck in a loop of looking for a wifi but not ever finding one.
I have tired rebooting and reset network settings, I even bought a new up to date router.  The router powers another iphone in the house asn various outher apple gadgets like ipads so I doubt the router is at fault.
I am begining to suspect a hardware problem, I hope not as it is out of warranty
    Any ideas?

  • How can I find the router number for airport extreme card?

I am trying (unsuccessfully) to wirelessly connect my PlayStation 3 to my iMac Duo using the built in Airport Extreme Card.
Can someone please tell me how to find the router number for the built-in Airport? I am using OSX 10.4.9. The wireless card type on my Mac info is "Airport Extreme (Ox14E4, Ox89)".
    Thanks in advance.

Since the iMac is using OS X's Internet Sharing, the iMac is acting as a router. The router IP address created by the iMac is dependent on the IP address assigned to the iMac. The first 2 numbers are the same but the last 2 are .2.1.
    For instance:
If your iMac is getting an IP address of 192.168.0.200 your Mac's router IP address will be 192.168.2.1
Similarly, if your iMac is getting an IP address of 10.0.1.200 your Mac's router IP address will be 10.0.2.1
    So
    Open Network Utility.
Click on "Info". Under "Please select a network interface for information" select "Network Interface (en0)" to see what IP address the iMac has been assigned.
Click on "Info". Under "Please select a network interface for information" select "Network Interface (en1)" to see what IP address the iMac is using as the router address on the wireless interface.

  • AirPort Utility can't find Netgear router OR new AirPort Express

    Hello,
I couldn't find my situation fully addressed in older posts, so I'm posting one myself.
I am trying to EXTEND my current network with a newly purchased AirPort Express. My equipment is as follows:
Comcast modem connected via ethernet cable to...
    Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 R7000 dual-band router
One three-year-old Mac Mini running Lion
One newer MacBook Pro running Mavericks
Two iPhone 4S, latest software updated as of Nov. 2014
Two-year-old iPad, latest software updated as of Nov. 2014
Newly purchased AirPort Express as of Nov. 2014
We have a large house with an office at the extreme end resulting in a week signal, so I need to extend my network. The Netgear router sends a strong signal otherwise, and ALL devices are working properly and are fully connected to the WIFI network.
    So here is the problem:
I've tried many, many times to connect the APE using AP Utility with only two successful connections, but these connections were to "Join Existing Network" not to extend that network, but I selected this option as it seemed closest to what I want to do since "extension" of network was not an option. Then I see that I can edit the APE within AP Utility. I've done so, resetting the unit as a network extender, and the two times I tried this I sat waiting for five minutes for the thing to update only to get an error message. At this junction I could do nothing but remove the APE in AP Utility by "forgetting" it. No other options were available that I could see.
Now, the two times I've done the above, were two times within 20+ attempts to get AirPort Utility to even see the darn thing. I've tried placing the APE near the Netgear router, moderately close (other side of room) and even at the far end of the house, and neither the APE or the Netgear router were ever found in the AP Utility save the two incidences mentioned above. I've scoured the net, rechecked all connections and performed all troubleshooting procedures I can find to no avail. All I get is a flashing amber light and no connection
A: Why won't AirPort Utility find my Netgear Router?
B: Why won't AirPort utility find my AirPort Express?
C: Why, on the two occasions the AP Utility did find the APE, did it not give me the option anywhere to set it up as an EXTENDER to the current network?
D: Is there any other way to add the APE to my network as desired without using AP Utility? (I do have the Negear Genie app, but I don't see options for adding a device for network extension so far)
I'm at wits end. Can anyone help?
Oh, and I've tried using AP Utility on both Macs listed above with the same results.
    Thanks for your help!

A: Why won't AirPort Utility find my Netgear Router?
AirPort Utility works only with an Apple router, as does the utility for a Netgear work only with a Netgear router.
B: Why won't AirPort utility find my AirPort Express?
Any of 3-4 common reasons. We'll have to work on troubleshooting that.
C: Why, on the two occasions the AP Utility did find the APE, did it not give me the option anywhere to set it up as an EXTENDER to the current network?
Apple designed the wireless "extend" feature on their routers to only work with other Apple routers.
D: Is there any other way to add the APE to my network as desired without using AP Utility?
    No
Not sure how you want to proceed at this point. It might be possible to use the AirPort Express to extend the Netgear network if you connect it using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection back to the Netgear router.
If you cannot run the Ethernet cable, your best bet by far is to use another Netgear extender or repeater, which would likely be compatible with your Netgear router.

  • AirPort Admin can't find Linksys Router

Someone gave me a Linksys BEFW11S4 "Wireless Access Point Router with 4-Port Switch", which appears to be roughly equivalent to an original (802.11b) AirPort Base Station. It's as ugly as most Windoze hardware, but I figure it might be useful to someone.
I don't understand much about networking tech, but find that when I start it up (1) my AirPort menu sees a network named "linksys" which it can connect to (it's now checked, and I'm connected to the Internet through it and a DSL modem connected to it), but (b) it doesn't appear in AirPort Admin Utility, so I can't configure it (name the network, change password, etc.). Can anyone elucidate?
    PowerBook G4 17" 1.5GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   1GB RAM, 80GB HD, DVD-RAM SuperDrive

It won't come up up in Airport Admin Utility. To configure the router launch a browser. Typically Linksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as the admin address for their routers. Once there, use admin as the password to gain access. If it won't let you in you will need to reset the router to factory default settings. Check the Linksys web site for the router manual.

  • Fax Setup Problem: Networked MacBook can't find HP 2160 Fax

I have a recent MacBook Intel Duo OS X (10.4.10) that I have connected to base station via Airport. (Airport Extreme Base station, works fine for everything else) Base station is connected to cable modem (WAN) and Intel iMac is connected to base station via Ethernet cable. Network works fine.
I have an HP 2160 All-in-One Printer/Fax/Scanner connected to base station via USB. I just installed HP's bloated driver package on my Airport networked MacBook.
I can print fine via Airport networked MacBook, but I can't get the MacBook to find the fax (on printer setup) to allow me to send a fax via the HP 2160. The HP 2160 works fine as stand-alone fax (it's hooked up to phone line, has it's own internal fax modem).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Two issues going on at once:
Drivers - OS X has two kinds of drivers; Carbon and CUPS. HP provides Carbon, USB-only drivers with printers that only have a USB connection (Yes, this is different from Windows, where a driver is a driver). Yet the standard comm protocols are provided by CUPS. You need CUPS drivers to use the CUPS network protocols. Search here to see if there's an open source CUPS driver for your model (you may need to find a "similar" model driver):
    http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/macosx
Then, to review the Windows Printing procedure, look at this:

  • Laptop can not find the router.

Yeah. First of all I'm not so technical so... sorry. Fancy internet talk and such would most likely confuse me.
First of all, I bought a WRT54G2 router. The Staples employee assured me that I'd be able to connect me and my sister's laptops to the internet.
I setting it up exactly as was instructed by the CD-Rom, yet when I go to my laptop and "View Available Wireless Networks", the router does not appear on the list. Despite this though, I've managed to connect my Nintendo DS to the internet. So... where does the problem lie, and what should I do?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop/laptop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...
Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • TS1398 OS 7: can't use a WIFI network cause can't find "accept cookies"

I just installed OS7 in my iphone.
After that the WIFI network in my hotel is not working anymore. It displays the following message:
    - "you would not be able to log in until you enable cookies in your web browser"
The problem is that if I go to <settings> and then to <safari>, the menu only has option to BLOCK cookies, not ACCEPT. Thus I choose BLOCK/NEVER but still I receive the same message after trying again.
So: Do you know in OS7 where is the menu to accept cookies? (it is not in the SETTINGS/SAFARI menu).

I had the same problem with my iphone 5s's running 7.0.3 and 7.0.4  ...but the solution i found is that the wireless routers may need to be updated.
My mother has an older router and i could not connect either phone to her wifi, i have a new router and when i tried connecting  both phones to the wifi it worked..
So the simple solution may be to either get a newer wireless router or upgrade the software on the one you have.
    Hope this helps.
