Network Monitoring Software to Graph Voice

Hi . We are using Third party software like solarwinds and mrtg that gives us interface level bandwidth graphs.
What we want to achieve is, that we want to visualize different color graphs that shows how much bandwidth is consumed by voice and how much bandwidth is consumed by data on our WAN interface.
Lets say Total bandwidth currently used on a DS3 interface is 20Mbps and 12Mbps is data and 8 Mbps is voice, so we want to see both graphs.
is there any NMS that can provide such level of graphing or reports?

Hi Ahmad,
never worked on WhatUpGold ,however this tool might work for you..

  • I need free network analyzer software for my mac. we are trying to monitor what software may be running which is causing our internet to fail, although the internet is still coming into our modem.what is recommended?

My internet keeps 'tripping' at or around the same period time each day.  We have already replaced our modem from our internet provider and we bought a new airport extreme router. We do not believe these were the cause, although we have now ruled them out as a cause.  Everytime the internet fails, our internet provider company tells us that there is still plenty of signal coming into our house. There is something going on inside we believe, and a technician set up our Network Utility to run a continuous ping test to capture information about when it 'trips' againn.  Yesterday, it happened again, and when he checked the data out, he said he is sure there is something 'running in the background' on my IMac.  He advised me to download a free Network Analyzer so he could further investigate what is was that was causing the problem, so I need a free network analyzer software for my Mac. The issue has been going on for a long time, so it is not the new operating system, Lion. This morning, we changed the radio channel from 'auto' to 'manual' and set a new channel, hoping that might help. We are trying to find out what program may be running (even a tiny one in the background) which is causing our internet to fail, although the internet is still coming into our modem. What is free downloadable product is recommended?

Will Activity Monitor and/or Network Utility, both already in the Utilities folder on your Mac, help in trying to diagnose the problem.
If you are connecting via wifi what encryption are you using? If you're using the Exteme I doubt that you are using WEP, but worth checking as it seems Macs don't like it and work better using WPA.

I have been looking over the realease notes for each product trying to draw some conclusion on which titles support or dont support certain products.
Has anyone used these and can give a quick answer for when you would use each and if there are any gotchas or limits to watch out for?
It looks like Prime is a paid for product but will any of the free solutions (CNA, CCP, CCA) work with all enterprise level products (2950, 2960, 3560, 3750, 4948, 4900 4500 switches and 1800, 1900, 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900 routers) or do you have to use Prime to get a product that will mange these devices?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Cisco camera and SB monitoring software compatibility

    Hi all,
We are currently looking into Dome Day/Night Outdoor security cameras and the small business ones may not fit our needs.  I have done some research and found CIVS-IPC-2630V.
Would this camera be compatible with the small business monitoring software SWVMS16?
    Thank you.

Hi, My name is Eric Moyers. I am a Network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center.
Unfortunately none of the Enterprise Camera's are compatible with the Small Business Video Monitoring Software.
If using the Basic version, only Cisco Small Business Cameras are recognized. (WVC210, WVC/PVC2300, PVC300, VC220 and VC240) There are some new cameras in development, but there is no timeframe for availability yet.
If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  • Lookin for a NMS such as CiscoWorks network management software

    hi everybody
I 'm lookin' for CiscoWorks network management software or equivalent on support section on cisco website support.
I want it to configure snmp on my catalyst 2950 and get some results likes input and output traffic rate on my catalyst, all trafic generated by equipment connected on my catalyst with some detailes likes equipement ip, input and output trafic rate, graph and son on.
I don't find it on the cisco website so I think they'll have an equivalent on the website but I don't know.
If someone has an idea or a link...
    Thank you

    Hi Serge,
Are looking to obtain software that you can install and use, or are you looking for documentation for software you already have?
One type of network management software freely available is MRTG, it will produce graphs of network traffic, a very handy utility:
    http://www.mrtg.com/
Another freeware NMS, if I'm not mistaken, is Nagios:
    http://www.nagios.org/products/nagiospowered/
We do have some software available for device configuration also (depending on the device). Perhaps the Cisco Netowrk Assistant? You can navigate there from http://www.cisco.com . Choose Support, and under Otion 2, choose "Download Software". Then select "Netowrk Management", "Routing and Switching Management", and "Cisco Network Assistant". Follow the navigation, and you should be able to have a tool to help configure your devices.
    Cheers,

  • Monitor software wouldn't detect WVC54GCA

    Guys, I'm really frustrated here.
I just got WVC54GCA today. Configured it. And it worked fine for about an hour. I could see the video on Monitor software and on camera web address. Than I could only access video through internal camera web site under it's IP address but the Monitor software delieverd on the CD wouldn;t detect the camera at all.
I had to restart the computer. Now Monitor doesn;t see the camera, I can't enter camera through web nor is it visible in my network devices.
When I restarted the device I noticed that on my router (WAG200G) it appeared with new IP address and the previous IP address is still there in the DHCP client table. Despite the fact that it is visible in DHCP table I still can;t connect to neither IP addresses of the camera nor is it visible in my Network under Windows.
    Nothing works now.
I thought that this is one of those things that you configure and forget about.
Please help if you know how to.
    Cheers,
    Swimmer
P.S. Quick update. I have disconnected the camera again and powered it back on. Now I can access the video through web but Monitor software wouldn't detect the camera.
    P.S. 1.
I noticed now that everything went back to nromal when I moved the camera closer to the router. When I first connected it it was getting signal from the router. Than I moved it elswere when I'm using Linksys range expander and everything gradually stoped working. Now when I moved it back closer to the router it works again. My understanding was that range expander should not interfere with hardware like that. I'm using all sorts of wireless devices and never had problem like this.
Message Edited by Swimmer on 09-02-2009 12:49 PM

Yup.  You should set the ip address manually on your router and forward the port manually on your router.  I've forwarded ports 1024, 554 (for remote streaming) and 5000 to the static ip on my camera; works like a charm.
Port forwarding is on the Applications and Gaming tab on my WRT54G2 and the static ip assignment is on the Basic Settings tab on the camera.
On the camera, change the configuration type to Fixed IP Address and give the camera an ip address outside the range of the dhcp on the router.  For instance, my router's dhcp range is 192.168.1.100 to 149; any address outside this range is fine for a static ip address.
You may want to configure the range extender that way, too, to ensure that the IP's don't get changed when the router's dhcp address lease expires.
Check this out and let me know if it works...I have mine set up this way and I have zero issues with the camera falling off the network now.

  • Wireless network monitor says I'm not connected to internet, but I am?

    Hi,
I have a WRT54G v6 and a WUSB54GC. I can connect to the inter just fine and for the most part the linksys  wireless network monitor says I'm connected to the access point and internet. The problem is occasionally it will says that I'm connected to the access point but the internet when I really am and I can browse the web just fine. I get the not connected to internet msg for a few minutes then it just goes back to connected. Any ideas?

    Hi...
I think here the issue may be that the utility and the internet connection are not getting synchronised. The operating system on your computer is it win XP? If it is win xp, u can use the windows wireless software to manage to your wireless network. In order to use the windows wireless zero configuration, right click on the linksys icon at the bottom right hand corner of the task bar, select the option that says "use windows wireless ....".
The linksys icon will be grayed and windows will be managing the wireless network. Connect to your wireless network and you should be able to go online.

  • Wireless Network monitor cause holes in Desktop

On my computer I have dancers that periodically dance on my desktop. It is live action video as opposed to animated cartoons.
When the Wireless Network monitor is running it cuts a hole in the center of the screen rendering any animated object/person transparent right where the square whole is. BAsically its seems to be cutting a whole through what I guess is a DirectX overlay. Its definately the Wireless monitor as this does not happen when it is NOT running. Anyone else run into this and is there a solution? Ifact it cuts a whole into everything for a moment. I just opened Nero and the square hole was visibly retaining image data of the previous window for just a moment. its just that its easily seen when the screen needs to redraw

You can install the adapter without the wireless network monitor. Try these steps Uninstall the drivers for the Adapter from start >> All programs ....
    >> Insert the Setup CD in the cd drive>> Click on Exit when the
Linksys welcome screen appears>>Click on start. Unplug & replug adapter ...>> There should be a "" Found New Hardware Wizard ""
that pops up on your screen>> Click on “Install software
automatically “, and then click on next. Once the installation is
complete>> Right click on the wireless network connection icon in the
system tray besides the clock >>Click on view wireless networks and
then connect to your network name.

    Hi James,
I did some quick searching today and can't find Mac filtering software. I'll ask around and see if I can round up a posse.
Investigate the multiple user function in OS9. That way, at least the software--if it exists-- would only be active when the kids are logged in to their account. Or you might be able to set up times that each account can be on the computer.
Ask your ISP if they have any filtering/blocking tools at the server end. Ours does.
Look at your browser. I know IE has built-in filtering tools, but they don't let you see sites visited if the kid figures out how to erase the history.
Best internet filter--Mom and Dad, when possible. I know that's seldom 100% possible. What worked for use was this: the kids knew I was techie type; their friends called me the "Ancient Geek." I liked it. I told the kids I'd know if they had been to "bad sites." Knowing that I could take the mysterious Mac apart, make it better, and put it back together impressed them. They assumed I could find out anything related to the computer. In a way, I could.

  • IPads banned from Princeton network baring software upgrade..

Basically, My ipad appears to be a giant ipod with no internet : / Princeton university network has basically banned the devices from the network.
It would appear that they won't let ipads back onto the network until apple fixes the the software issue they are referring to below:
    "Apple iPad Network Connectivity Issues
Status: Start Time: End Time: Last Update:
    Alert In Progress 4/8/2010 10:13am
    Details:
Network monitoring has shown that many iPad devices are causing a problem on the campus network. These devices are continuing to use an IP address they have been leased well beyond the time they should. This behavior causes a disruption on the campus network.
At this time, we have seen this behavior from the majority of iPad devices connected to the campus network. We believe this is a bug within the iPad operating system. OIT has reported this bug to Apple in hopes that they will be able to provide a fix for this issue.
Until a fix is provided by Apple, OIT recommends not connecting your iPad device to the campus network as it is extremely likely it will malfunction. iPad devices that malfunction in this manner while connected to the campus network may need to be blocked to maintain the stability and reliability of campus network services.
    Services Affected:
    Apple iPad
Does anyone have an idea as to how long something like this might take to fix? Or if there might be a fix?

I read the article that deggie posted:
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/134941/ciscosays_network_gear_caused_duke_iphoneflooding.html
The article says that network was being hosed by an ARP storm, which is a very common network problem. It can be caused by any improperly behaving device on the network. Google 'ARP storm' if you want to read more about it.
I'm a retired Cisco router guy. If Cisco says that their software bug caused it, you should believe them.
Here is a document about a Cisco ARP storm vulnerability that they fixed in about the same timeframe as the reports about the ARP storms on iPhones:
