Network Offline on a C6380

I've searched to find a couple of mentions of offline messages in this area already, but none of them answered my question.  So, here it is:
I have a C6380 printer that has been working fine for about 8 months.  The set up is wireless and have anywhere from 2 to 3 computers connected to the network at any given time.  2 systems have Vista and one has XP.  All of them have the software installed.
Recently, when we go to print, the response comes back that the printer is offline.  I've tried to reset it by power off/on the printer, my hub, both, the computers, everything at the same time and nothing seems to bring it back.  I then checked the network settings on the printer and reset the SSID and WEP key.  This brings it back to functioning again.  However, two days later, the system is offline again.  When the key was reentered again, the printer came back online and seems to be fine again.
Any suggestions as to the cause and possible solution for this issue???

You may want to set a static IP address for the printer.  From any one of your computers:
Type the printer's IP address into a browser (the IP address can be found on a Network Config Page printed from the front of the printer).
Choose Networking, then either wired or wireless depending on your connection (on the left side), then the IP4v tab.
Choose Manual IP.  Enter the IP address of the printer, 255.255.255.0 for the subnet and your router's IP for both gateway and the first DNS server (leave the second empty).  Your router's IP is likely the same as your printer's except the last number is a '1'.
Click Apply.
Now, I would change from WEP to WPA or WPA2 encryption.  WEP is easily broken these days and will cause you more headaches than it is worth.  Need help?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

For forum: re: Tools>Options>Network>Offline Web Content and User Data, (Help) says in part, '..If you have previously blocked a website from storing data for offline use..', If this refers to the times I have 'denied' a web service from storing data on my machine, then something is wrong. I have 'denied' many such requests, yet there is nothing in the box (Exceptions) 'Offline Data'. Why is there nothing in the box, and/or how do I manually add a service to the 'blocked' box? For me, this is a real problem as I have spent as much as 5 minutes clicking on the little 'Deny' box in the request before it goes away and allows me to watch the video I wanted to watch (the little 'request' box sits right in the middle of the video box, blocking viewing of the video). Is this a problem with Adobe Flash Player Settings (whos 'request' box it appears to belong to) or a problem with the Firefox> Tools (Local Storage) settings? (a picture of this 'request box' available on request)

Note that Offline Web Content is different then local DOM storage and is only used on a few websites that run an application like the mega.co.nz website.

  • Windows 8 Printer over network offline -HP

    Hello
I am using windows 8 in my office.I have installed HP Laserjet 1020 on one system and I have shared it.
Now on another PC i have installed it as a network  shared printer.
But the problem is it shows offline after reboot.Sometimes though it work but it shows offline in another machine not in local machine to which printer is attached.
I have downloaded latest driver for my printer but still same issue

    Hi,
Since this issue happened when you reboot the computer, I consider that the driver is not loaded propertly.
I suggest we disable fast boot feature in Windows 8 to see what’s going on:

Then let’s uncheck the power management on your network adapter:
    Open Network and Sharing Center.
Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties .
    Click Configure .
On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
If the issue still persists, please help to collect event log on the computer with shared printer and upload here for further research.

  • Offline Files - Where is the "Work Online" Button in File Explorer (when connected to company network)?

I have windows 8.1 Pro.  I connected a network drive and was able to set up some of the contents as available offline.  When I connect to the VPN, however, and go into file explorer - for that drive, it indicates the state as "Offline (background

  • Issue with offline availability of roaming profiles in Server 2012

I've recently stood up a Windows 2012 R2 server. I set up folder redirection using the guidelines
here and roaming profiles using Group Policy. All is well except for the fact that if the client is physically disconnected from the network then the profile isn't available.
I've set up folder redirection/roaming profiles on many different version of Windows Server and this is the first time I can remember that the files weren't available offline without further intervention from me. Is there some new setting or default on 2012
R2 that I'm running afoul of?
I note the following screen on the share properties but don't want to go at it until I know more
Location of image in case of no display
Sunt ludi et ioci dum aliquis oculo nocet.

    Shaon,
No problem at all, I'm delighted that someone is answering at all! :-)
The answers to your points/questions are as follows:
    1. The issue persists after a reboot
    2. All computers in the OU are experiencing this issue along with all users affected by these group policy items
    3. There is only one group policy applied here and in relation to the three items you've mentioned:
Action on server disconnect [Not configured]
Non-default server disconnect actions [Not configured]
Do not automatically make redirected folders available offline [Not visible]
All the relevant group policy objects (on the server) are at their default "Not configured" value. I've filtered by Windows 7 and Windows 8 as I have nothing below that. I've checked both locations viz.:
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files
    User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files
The same is true for Local Computer Policy, all are set to "Not configured". In Explorer on the client under the Easy Access option all of the salient settings are greyed out.

As above, I have also tried downloading a later version, also tried downloading Google Chrome, none work. I have tried using my laptop at several different wifi connections in USA and Firefox does not work on any. So it is not a wifi set up problem in our home in USA. I am running X.P and I.E 6. When I downloaded I.E 8 that would not work either, so I had to re set the laptop back to a date a week ago.

  • Problem to make able Offline File Windows 7

Hi, I need your help to solve this problem whit the offline files.
This is the step-by-step of what i done:
I opened the control panel in windows 7
I Clicked on the sync center icon
I Clicked on the manage offline files link
I Clicked on the enable offline files button
    I Restarted the pc
But it doesn’t work out: when I go back to the start on the control panel I find the button “Enable Offline Files” instead of the “Disable  Offline Files”.
Can someone tell me why? I need to know what I do wrong.
    Tks

    Hi,
Did you enable offline files by using an administrator account? Just a confirmation, thanks for your understanding.
In addition, would you please let me know whether the problematic Windows 7 client computer joined to a domain?
If it’s in domain environment, please contact your administrator and confirm if disable “Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature” policy setting (the path in GPME: Computer Configuration-> Policies-> Administrative Templates->
Network-> Offline Files). If disable this policy setting, Offline Files is disabled and users cannot enable it.
Please also refer to following TechNet article and check if can help you.

  • Provision offline files in Windows 8.x

    Hi there,
I stumbled across a problem. I want to make certain folders offline available for all users. For this I am using the Group Policy setting "Administratively assigned offline files" under "Administrative Templates / Network / Offline Files". Unfortunately,
both, the user part setting and the computer part setting, do not work.
All paths are specified as UNC paths in the "name" column of the provided table in the Group Policy Editor.
Any suggestions, how to get this working?
    ----------------------- Greetings from Germany, Martin

    Hi,
I made a test in our testing enviroment. It works fine when enable this policy. Both my test account could access Offline Files.
Therefore, please check your group policy setting. Make sure sharing folder path correct.

  • Disable Offline Files

Am trying to devise a package to push to W2K (fully-patched) workstations
that will disable Offline Files (in Windows Explorer, Tools - Folder
Options - Offline Files tab - uncheck Enable Offline Files). It turns out
that it is not an easy, quick reghack. Additionally, we "lock down" our
users, users are USERS and not administrator-equivalent. We are using
client 4.91 with mixed SP1 and SP2. We use ZEN 3.2 SP3. Server is NetWare
    6.5 SP?
The following regkeys are part of the disabling process:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Applets\SysTray]
    "Services"=dword:00000017
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\NetCache]
    "DefCacheSize"=dword:00000415
    "Enabled"=dword:00000000
However, just using those keys don't disable the feature (if you enter
these, it doesn't disable the function - the function stays retained).
I found the following additional information:
C:\Winnt\CSC is a hidden directory, and when you Enable Offline Files, 2
"system" files are created (if they didn't exist) - 00000001 and 00000002.
You can delete 00000002 anytime, but not 00000001 unless you disable
Offline Files. You can not delete 00000001 unless you disable Offline Files.
I can easily push out a reghack for just about any other program with no
issues, but this is something else (and, nevertheless, frustrating).
Problem: Just inserting the regkeys manually, clicking on the REG file, or
pushing the keys via ZEN, does NOT disable the Offline Files option.
QUESTION: Has anyone used ZEN to successfully push out a method to disable
Offline Files, and if yes, what is needed to disable that functionality?
    Thank you.

    Use a Group Policy:
    \Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files\Allow
or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature

  • Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature

Hi all! I am having an issue with Offline files on some new Windows 8.1 clients we have deployed. We wish to have Offline Files disabled for these machines, but using the GPO Setting "Computer config>Policies>Administrative Templates>Network>Offline
Files>All or Disallow the use of the Offline Files feature" is not working as described. We have used this setting as far back as XP and to my knowledge it has always worked. However, on these client systems the setting does disable the button to enable/disable
offline files but does not actually disable offline files itself. The explanation of the setting has this to say:
If you disable this policy setting, Offline Files is disabled and users cannot enable it.
Why isn't this working in Windows 8.1? Thanks!

    Hi Matt,
Based on your description, have we restarted the computer? As stated in the explanation sector of the setting, changes to this policy setting do not take effect until the affected computer is restarted.

  • Windows Offline Files / Sync Center - 99GB?? bug?

Currently have a laptop connected to a domain where the user's My Documents folder is set up in Sync Center... while the laptop is on the network everything is fine and dandy, however once the user disconnects a good portion of the files and folder show
a gray X indicating that they haven't sync'd over a local copy. When going into the 'Disk usage' tab for Sync Center, everything shows as 99GB used, 99GB available and the drive size is 999GB. If I do a manual sync I see that it fails due to not enough offline
cache space. Attempts to change it with the 'Change size' button have failed as nothing shows up when I click on that button. Free disk space shows up as roughly 24GB free and Windows Scan Disk reveals nothing wrong with the drive. Help!

    Hi,
Did this issue occur before ? Did the machines in the domain share the same issue with you?
1.If the issue occured occasionally, I recommend you to  manually re-initialize the offline files database/client-side cache following this link:
