Hey there,
Over the last few months I have been having an issue losing connection to certain IP addresses. I have contacted the company (Riot Games) in charge of hosting the server on the IP addresses and have been e-mailing them frequently trying certain fixes they have suggested. I haven't had much luck with the fixes my end so I was wondering what could be done your end to help resolve the problem. I am not trying to play the “blame game” either. I don’t mind whose fault the problem is, I just want it located so I can get it fixed. And since I have tried everything I can do from my network and Riot Games have tried several things their end, the final option is to contact my ISP.
So far to try and correct the issue, I have tried the following fixes;
- A full re-install and repair of the game I have a problem with.
- Performing a clean boot of windows, disabling all non-essential start-up programs.
- I have disabled all my firewalls and antivirus programs.
- I have opened up all the ports on the Home Hub 3.0 to allow full access the to IP addresses I need to connect to.
- I have removed all third party software which can interfere with internet connections, such as Pando Media Booster, uTorrent, Hamachi etc.
- I always run the game as administrator.
- I have up to date firmware for my network card.
- I've tried using a different router.
- I switched to public DNS.
- No other computer or device is turned on or using the internet connection wired, or wireless when I get the connection problem.
- I have increased the priority on all 3 of the .exe applications which are used to run the game.
- It seems to happen on random days and times, however a few cases where I have noticed it happen more often are at around 16:00 UK time and 23:00.
- I have tried flushing the DNS resolver cache when the problem happens.

I’m sorry I’ve had to include all this information in a forum post however there is no e-mail address I could find to contact you regardingTech Support. Plus on the two occasions I’ve called the Tech Support, I’ve been palmed off and they have refused to take any of information I can provide, instead offering to obtain the information themselves at a £20 fee.

If you just click the small x in the tab you are currently viewing, it will close only that tab. I think you are clicking the x in upper right hand corner of the screen which closes all open tabs as you described.

Why don't all my contacts and calendar events on my iMac (version 10.7.4) stream onto iCloud? For instance, there are 470 entries in my address book but only 270 on iCloud. And not all my appointments in iCal are transferred either.
I have the same problem transfering Address book on iMac to contacts on iPhone (old version 3G - on iCloud). this is a hard wired connectionMight you have 200 entries in On My Mac groups and some of your appointments in On My Mac calendars?

There is a third-party program called Attachment Tamer that will do that for you. In the Terminal, you can type this:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
Also note that while Attachment Tamer does some things with the encoding that makes certain email clients display the item as an attachment, what shows up at the receiver's end is solely dependent on their email client and its settings. -
In that process I lost my LR4 catalogs I was able to redownload the program but the catalogs are not there and not all of those pictures are on my external hard drive because same said teen decided they were going to borrow my external hard drive without telling me and "made room" on it. Is there a way to recover my catalogs? Please tell me there is because I was in the middle of working on a session when I had to wipe my drive and I would REALLY like to not have to go back and reshoot it. Any help would be wonderful!
It depends on how you wiped your drive. Depending on how you did it, only the directory was erased and the data can be found with drive recovery software. Some are free, although there is a small charge for most of them (~$30). You can usually download a trial version that shows if it will work and you have to pay to be able to save the found files. Use Google to search for the software. Different programs work differently and can find different things.

They got pushed to another page of the Home screen. Scroll from left to right to find them. You can then move them to where you want them.

Why do only some photos appear in iCloud folder on my PC and not all taken on iPhone appear on iPad either? All settings seem correct and new photos now seem to be appearing on all devices, but not all older or recent photos, even if taken at same time. All advice greatly appreciated.
First, to access documents you must use an app designed for that specific Document type. So Pages will not be able to open PDFs. The Documents app by Readdle can handle PDFs though. In the latter case, you'd open the app, click the menu icon at its top left, and click Open to go to your iCloud Drive. With Pages, if you had files outside the main Pages folder, click + then iCloud and navigate to the file's location.

When you say not all your calendar info is being copied over, do you mean individual appointments?
On each i-Device, open the calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom, and make sure all the calendars in the list are checked so they will show. Or tap Show All Calendars at the top. See if that helps. -

Photo Stream will only transfer photos taken in the last thirty days.

You can select only the albums that you want to sync in the photos tab of iTunes when you sync your iPad. If you are using iPhoto it is very easy. Simply select iPhoto in the Sync Photos From heading and then select the albums that you want to sync.
If you are using iTunes 11 - enable the side bar by going to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes Menu. This explains how to sync photos.

I've downloaded the new 5.0 update and not all the new features are there. Just the newsstand, reminders and videos icons plus icloud. Everything else is the same as before. What should I do now? It says I have the latest update. ???
Hummmm, you might not be missing anything... From what I understand, really the only new visible add-on apps type programs are Newstand and Reminders. The Notification Center seems to be about how your info and alerts are pushed to your screen and you control that thru the phone settings>General>Notifications, the panel is accessed by swiping downward from the top of your screen. Weird I know, should be more obvious. Enjoy!
Don't forget, you can now use the volume button on the side of your phone to take photos. I really like this!

I bought an album and not all the songs came up listed under the artist name. They came up as separate songs and not as part of an album. How do I fix this?

You have to locate the album in itunes. Highlight each track, hold the ctrl button and left click each one.
Do a right-click on the highlighted blue, select get info, say yes to editing multiple tracks.
Hit the options tab, change "part of a compliation" to yes, select ok on the bottom right.
Resync ipod. This should fix it on your ipod after the resync.

After I downloaded the latest update firefox as I knew it disappeared. The opening screen no longer shows the fox logo. The search box on the toolbar lists as conduit search. And I am finding that not all my bookmarks still work. Example-I have to go to att to access my mail. That is fine if that is the way it is supposed to work but if so I would like to know how to change my home screen--or at least the first thing I see when firefox opens to the att site as I generally use my computer for email. I am also accustomed to using google search and as I am a crazy old cat lady I am not really ready to change the way I am familiar with my computer.
Ideally, could I get the fox picture screen with the google search and the ability to click on the bookmark labeled mail back on my computer???

Thanks, Dawnhello dawn, please be aware that there are malicious websites out there which will trigger fake update notices/popups which try to trick you into downloading software bundled with adware. please never click on such websites or execute such files on offer - updates are handled automatically by firefox and you don't have to download any file for it (you can always manually check if you're up-to-date by going to ''firefox > help > about firefox'').
please try these steps to regain your firefox:
# [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
# afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
# go to the windows control panel and remove all software recently installed where you don't know which purpose it has or otherwise looks suspicious.
# finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
