network path could not be found. Check your spelling or try a different path.

Hi everyone,
I am having problems with Office programs not saving on a network drive. It is displaying this error: <network path> could not be found. Check your spelling or try a different path.
This happens on subfolders only, so if I try saving a file to the root folder, it works. But as soon as I want to save it to a subfolder this happens.
In this sub folder I can find .TMP file and an empty, 0kb Word/Exel file with that name. If I do the save process again, it only asks me to replace the file and save is done no problem. Shared folder is on SBS 2011 and client computers are running Windows
7. It happens to any version of Office (2007, 2010 and 2013).
Can you help me out guys?
Thank you
Vlastimir Sindelic

We are facing the same exact problem but let me give more details to our issue that we are facing. Few users of ours use to access a shared drive (mapped on their computers) and open any file without any problem. Now, when they
try to open a file they are getting the error message "u:\shared\file.ext cannot be found. Check your spelling, or try a different path". After doing some investigation it seems that this error is really saying that someone has the file open. Users
got this error message only if the file is opened by another user. They will be able to open it as soon as the other user closes it. It's suppose to give a notification of "read only" rather than giving this error message "file name" cannot
be found. Check your spelling, or try a different path".
If we manually browse to the path and open the file which is already opened by another user we get the error message we expect to see "read only" message. It's just that when we go from a mapped path the error is "u:\shared\file.ext
cannot be found. Check your spelling, or try a different path" which is not a true error. This is related to office we have already tested that out but have not been able to fix. Please advise.

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Time capsule error: Time Machine could not be configured. The built-in network interface could not be found.

Trying to install a new time capsule. I get access to the time capsule via Finder and I am able to surf the web. When trying to chose backup disk, it allows me to chose the Time Capsule from the list and type my password. I then get the following error message:Time Machine could not be configured. The built-in network interface could not be found.
    What now?

i've been able to do one single time machine back up. tried to backup today and i am getting the "time machine could not be configured. the built-in network interface blah blah blah" crap.
Besides this "me, too" complaint with no information, what have you done about it?
    Have you tried this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3275#5
    What is your backup destination?
What sort of Mac do you have (please update your profile)?

  • "The built-in network interface could not be found"

I'm trying to do a new setup of time machine on my wife's macbook air running 10.5.6 to a hard disk connected via USB. When I try to configure Time Machine (previously unconfigured) to use the disk I get the error "Time Machine could not be configured. The built-in network interface could not be found."
A quick google found only fixes for hackintoshes adding .kext's which I'm not going to try. Any suggestions.

    Never mind, the fix is,
    1. from the finder menu GO to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    2. copy the file NetworkInterfaces.plist to your deskop as a backup
    3. Delete the file NetworkInterfaces.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. You will need to authenticate as an administrative user.
    4. Reboot.
    5. Now you should be able to configure Time Machine to use the disk

Do I have to reconfigure something in Itunes to point to the correct address?

What version of iTunes are you using?  The latest is 10.6.3. In iTunes, choose Help -> About iTunes to check the version number. If it's lower than 10.6.3, download the latest version from here.

  • Preview Error: "no endpoint listening at net.pipe ... incorrect address or SOAP action ... could not be found on your local machine"

    Hi
I am developing SSRS reports, suddenly now I am getting this error when I try to preview a report in the VS 2010 shell:
"This is a designer preview error, "There was no endpoint listening at  net.pipe://localhost/PreviewProcessngServcie11108/ReportProcessng that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerExcelption,
if present, for more details. The pipe endpoint 'net.pipe://localhost/PreviewProcessing11108/ReportProcessing' could not be found on your local machine"
The error has come out of the blue, reports which I used to be able to preview, I can't preview anymore.
Anybody knows what to do to make it work again?

I tried to apply Mike Yin' answer on this thread

    Suggestion 1:
Press WinKey+R , input “services.msc” in the Run box, and press enter.
In the local services list, find the “Net.Pipe Listener Adapter”.
If it is stopped, start it. If it is started, restart it.
I found that “Net.Pipe Listener Adapter” was not enabled, so I enabled it and started/restarted it. Now it works again :)

    Hi,
I was trying to work out a User exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_002 to predetermine a customer in the sales order.Something went wrong and I deactivated and delected the project I created in CMOD.

    Hi,
I have also tried the same in my IDES system, its working fine and can you check the following steps,
    - Create a project in CMOD and Goto Enhancement assignments and assign "V45A0002".
    - Now click on the Components, You will have the FM "EXIT_SAPMV45A_002", navigate and goto the FM and You will find the Include "ZXVVAU04".
    - Create the Include and write you code to populate KUNNR based on the Import parameter and E_KUNNR is an Export parameter.
The data declarations of the FM also available for the Include.
If you still have the error in activating the Include, then goto FM and open up the Display Object List, right click on the FM and Activate.
    Thanks, Raj

  • All songs on networked folder "could not be found", though not moved

Last night my computer froze while iTunes was in the process of running the script "Put This In That".
This morning I rebooted my computer by having to hold down the power button and then restarting.
Ever since all this iTunes cannot find ANY of my 80GBs of music.
    Here is my situation:
    - MacBook Pro; iTunes database/xml file resides in it's default location in my music folder.
    - Network Attached Storage device (a DNS-323) holds over 80 GB music in a folder named "iTunes 081102", all of which was being managed by iTunes just fine up til this morning. The "iTunes Music folder location" is set to point to "Volume_1:iTunes 081102:", which is the location of the above folder on the Network Attached Storage. This is the way it was set yesterday, and the way it is still set today.
When I try to play any song I get the standard message "The song... could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
I actually tried to this once, hoping like some other software I use that it would use this as a guide to find everything else, but no such luck.
If I go to "Get Info" for a song and go the Summary tab, under "Where:" all it says is "Not available".
The thing is NOTHING HAS MOVED. Everything is in the EXACT SAME LOCATION as it's always been.
So how do I tell iTunes to "go fetch"?
Is this an issue because I'm using iTunes on a laptop, and for half of my day the files aren't available?
I don't want to reimport, because then I will loose all my ratings and meta-data.

  • Library Lost - Please HeIp I tried updating my old ipod & now all 10,000 songs in my library have an ! next to them and I get the error message "song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found" on every song I try to play

Please help - this morning I tried updating one of my old ipods for my wife (this ipod hasn't been updated in 2-3 years).  I plugged it into my pc, it was recognized and the software updated.  I created a new playlist and tied to sync the ipod.  This ipod had never been used on this pc/itunes since the pc is only 2 years old.  When I tried to sync the ipod it stated that it would have to erase all the old songs on the ipod prior to syncing.  I clicked ok and it proceeded to wipe out the old ipod and sync the new playlist (~1000 songs).  When the sync was complete there were only 6 songs from the new playlist (all purchased this morning from itunes) on the ipod and to my horror all ~10,000 song on my pc in itunes now have a ! next to them.  Only my recent purchases from itunes do not.  When I click on a song with the ! I get the error message "the song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found."  How do I correct this issue - I am scared to hook my ipads or other ipods to my pc for fear of losing everything?!?!?  I spent 100s of hours burning the 10,000 songs from my cd collection and do not want to have to do it again.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

If you have a system with DHCP assigned IP addresses, check if you have the LoopBack Adapter installed. It is necessary when the instalation is done on this kind of systems. You also need to know if the adapter is used as the primary netword adapter.
    I hope it helps.
