Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model?
Try the following: on the WIndows 7 machine go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, Local Printer, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, then click on Windows Update and then select the proper printer from the list..

  • Hp running windows 8 will not print black on printer's

I have a hp running windows 8 and two different brand printers both will not print in black when hooked up to this computer. One is a hp photosmart and the other a lexmark. Both with cleaned heads and full cartridges. Both will scan using black or test page will print black, but will only print in color from the computer. If i change black text to blue or another color it prints but not black. My best guess is some setting on the computer thats causing this seeing how two different printers will not print black on this computer but will on other computers

What is the HP Photosmart printer model?

  • HP 2575 Photosmart on Windows XP will not printing

The printer will not print documents saved on my computer but will print emails. When the print screen appears it says UBS001 in the "Where" when trying to print documents saved on the computer but this is blank printing emails. Don't know if this is the problem, if so how do I resolve????

    Hi burnie2012,
You may want to download and run the HP Print and Scan doctor. It will help to diagnose and fix many printing issues like the one you are having.
Let us know if this helps.

  • Safari 5.0 on Windows 7 will not print .jpg files

I cannot get Safari 5/Windows 7 to print .jpg files! There is no problem with .png or .gif images. These are not protected .jpgs or anything - regular, inline images in an HTML file. Is this a bug? How can I report/request this "feature"?

Simply downgrading to 5.05 will not solve the constant log out issue, the problem is in Apple shared component after the 5.1 update. Your shared component gets updated with the 5.1 update and will not downgrade if you simply uninstall safari 5.1 and replace it with safari 5.05, you'll also need to uninstall the shared compenent.
From the control panel, first uninstall safari 5.1 and then uninstall Apple shared components. Then install 5.05, this will also install older version of the Apple shared component.
WARNING: Uninstalling Apple shared component will affect iTunes and Quicktime. You may need to reinstall them as well.

  • Windows 8 will not print pdf

Message is  "you don't have any devices that can receive any content from adobe reader"  the printer works fine with everything else.   HELP

Starting from version 1.1, Adobe Reader Touch supports Printing.  So I would guess that there's something wrong with your printer settings/configuration.
Just to make sure that you have the version that supports Printing, please do the following.
With Adobe Reader Touch running, bring up the Settings Charm.  (Press Windows Logo key + letter 'i' or swipe from the right edge and select Settings.)
    Select About.
Check the version and build numbers.
Please note that the version of Adobe Reader Touch must be 1.1 or later.  The latest version is 1.2 as of July 9, 2013.
FAQ: How to update Adobe Reader Touch to the latest version
Based on the error message that you mentioned above, I suspect that your printer or printer driver is not installed correctly.
Please see the Microsoft help pages for Install a printer and Fix printer problems.
If the page above does not help, you can go to the Microsoft user forums page, select your Windows version, and ask questions.
You can also try printing from other Windows Store apps (e.g. Photo, Maps) to see if it works.  If you are having the printing problem only with Adobe Reader Touch, please get back to us on the same discussion page here.
    Good luck!

  • Firefox 3.6.9 / Windows 7 will not print using font specified with @font-face - any workarounds?

I've seen a few mentions of this problem around the interwebs, but can't find a resolution. I used [http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator fontsquirrel's font-face generator] to prepare different versions of a font for cross-browser display. Screen presentation in almost all browsers is fine, and almost all browsers print the embedded font as well - except for Firefox/PC (3.6.9/Windows 7).
I have tried inline styles, styles inside of the head, and external stylesheets, all with and without media type print. What can I do?

    Hi John,
Can u try the work around mentioned in the below link
    http://notsomany.wordpress.com/2010/03/30/jinitiator-working-on-windows-7/
Also some times IE8 can block the webutil_file_transfer.
AS_to_Client if "protected mode" is ON for the security zone your forms url is in (look in the statusbar in IE ->
internet, trusted site, ... -> protected mode: On/Off)
    Regards

  • Photosmart 6520 e Windows 7 printer says it is connected to network, but will not print.

I've followed all suggestions in troubleshooting both from manual and on line.  Shut off firewall, unplugged, plugged waited.  Nothing changes.  All printouts from the printer say connected, but will not print and computer detection of the printer says cannot be located.  Help!!

Glad you were able to find the problem. I am sure that the Print and Scan Doctor would have come to the same conclusion Thanks for sharing what the cause was...I am sure others will benefit from it if they also have this issue.

  • OfficeJet 4500 will not print two sided over network

I'm running on Windows 7 with an OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z over WiFi.  Printer works great except that it will not print two sided.  We've used a non-WiFi 4500 to print two sided before.  With the new printer the first pages print and the pop-up shows on the laptop (prompt to flip paper over) but nothing happens.  The second pages never print.
I've run all of the HP print and network diagnostics.  Everything appears to be OK.

The solution below was found on the sticky post at the top of this board "Fixes and Workarounds from HP"
I think the patch below only applies if you have the original printer software installed, I assume this issue was fixed in later versions of the printer software, Read the patch information carefully.

  • My new Officejet Pro 8500a on a Windows XP machine will not print from the Internet.

I just purchased and installed an Officejet Pro 8500a all-in-one and everything seems to work fine except that the maachine will not print from the internet.  I use Windows XP home and and the Firefox browser.  The printer is connected directly to the computer, and is not directly connected to the Internet or any other network.

The Officejet 8500 printers take individual ink cartridges (IIC); that machine requires that all cartridges be installed to ensure that the printhead does not get damaged. Ink is used in the printer not just for printing, but maintain the printer and the printhead. One can reduce the amount of color ink the printer uses by changing the printer settings to Grayscale or use black ink only. Page 34 of the user manual shows how one can change those settings when printing documents. For further information on how ink is used in the printer; one can look as this page here where it goes into detail on the different ways that ink is used in the printer.
I would just replace the color cartridge that the printer indicates needs replacing when the machine alerts you to low ink. I would not replace all colors at once when only one is in need of replacing.
    I hope that this helps.

  • Will not Print to network printer

I have a A665-S6086 laptop on a small work network.  Yesterday, magically, it stopped printing to both network printers.  It recognizes the printers, says they are online, but will not print.  No error messages given.  Tried printing from Word, .pdf, and internet.
Laptop uses Windows 7.  Computer that the printers are attached to has Windows 7 and it prints fine.
I have tried reinstalling drivers, deleting and reinstalling printers, etc.  If I connect a printer directly to laptop it prints.
    Any suggestions?

Hi All printers are different. I suggest you contact the printer manufacture. Do you have the installation disc that came with the printer?? Try installing the printer on all computers that do not work?? Also unplug the printer for 20 seconds. Some times I have to unplug my HP to get it to work wireless. It's kind a like rebooting your PC

  • Windows 7 64 bit, changed wireless modem, now c4500 all in one will not print.

I had to have my wireless modem changed and now my 2 laptops will not print. 1). windows 7 64 bit.  2) windows xp, version 2002 service pack 3. The new wireless modem is from ATT u-verse 2wire892. I tried reinstalling on the windows 7 laptop and it tells me can't be installed on that operating system. I had it there before. I ran a Wireless Network Test Report and under the network name it still has the old net name not the new one, how do I change that?

Found diagnostic utility at hp support.  Though I lost all jobs in the queue, printer is again working.  YEAH!

  • Help! My printer will not print since installing Windows 7 upgrade.

I currently have an HP4580 All in one wireless printer that will not print.  Nothing goes to the queue.  I have done all the HP troubleshooting, including uninstalling and reinstalling the device.  Everything shows that it is working properly and is recognized on the network.  I have run out of ideas.  Can anybody help me?

Is this the Deskjet F4580, the Officejet J4580 or the Photosmart C4580?  I would suggest going to the HP site and downloading the proper driver and updates for Windows 7.  Before installing the new software uninstall the previous version.

  • HP Laserjet 4100 on network will not print

Since I’ve installed Snow Leopard, I have not been able to print with my HP Laserjet 4100.
My set-up: new 24” iMac, many hard drives and more. Two devices: HP Color Laserjet 5550 and HP Officejet J5750 are connected to the iMac through a USB Hub. Although initially scanning did not work with the J5750, I was able to make that work once additional drivers were downloaded from HP. Both work fine.
I also have an older HP Laserjet 4100 which has been my steady workhorse for years. It only has Ethernet and serial port outlets. It is connected to an AT&T 2-Wired Ethernet Hub/DSL Modem (model 2701HG-B) that is connected to the iMac.
I’ve contacted HP and Apple about this problem. None of the three people I worked with at Apple could help and the HP representative was unsure if they could help but that it would cost me $40 to find out. According to HP website, since Apple Talk no longer exists, we are required to input the IP for the device. For the 4100, the IP address is 10.0.1.100. I tried this two ways: in the “Add Printer” window under “IP,” inputted as the IPP, and inputted as the HP Jetdirect Socket (as per the HP instructions). When this is done, the printer shows up when you give a print command. However, it does not show up in the “Add Printer” window under “default” or anywhere else.
Status: If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable directly to the back of the iMac, the “Supply” level indicates the true level of toner in the 4100. However, it will not print. If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable to the Ethernet hub, the supply level does not show nor can I print.
    Any suggestions?

I am struggling with the same problem. I have two HP 4100dtn printers on ethernet. Each has a manually assigned IP address. I can set up the printer(s) just fine in the Print & Fax Preference and Snow Leopard finds the printer just fine when I enter the IP address and chooses the correct HP Driver.
When I try to print, my print job appears in the queue as expected, than an error appears that something about a "bad command". Sorry, I'm home right now and don't have direct access to the printer so I can't give you the precise language of the message, but the gist of the message is that the system tried to connect to the printer to send the print data but the printer does not know how to respond to the command that was sent.
It's as if the firmware in the 4100 just doesn't have something in it's lexicon that Snow Leopard needs. The HP web site is no help. One page I found says the printer is supported (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01664444&jumpid=regR1002USEN ) and another page I found says that it is not supported (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01879014&jumpid=regR1002USEN). The HP on line chat won't let me log in and hold a chat with HP unless I know the Serial Number of the printer, which I don't have here at home.
    More to follow tomorrow.
    Anyone have any ideas?
