Networking a LaserJet CP1510

Hi there,
I really need some help on this one so if anyone has any ideas I would be grateful.
We have the above printer installed on a home network which is setup as follows:
Main Modem router: DHCP enabled range 2 - 100
Wired connection to router used as switch: DHCP disabled - fixed IP connected devices PC (port 102), printer (port 103).
The printer prints when initally installed on either the PC or Laptop, however once the PC/Laptop is restarted the next print request does not reach the printer and no print is produced.
The printer has a fixed IP and everything in the Networking tab of the web GUI seems to be in place, I can ping the printer so I am at a loss as to why it is not working.
Any one got any ideas on this.
Thanks in advance.

Check the driver properties for the printer and ensure that the Port is set up correctly.  You could also try printing directly to the MAC address, then you wouldn't need to worry about static IP's

  • Networked HP Laserjet M2727 out of toner error

I keep getting a printer out of toner error message when I try to print to a networked HP Laserjet m2727.  The printer is connected to a D-Link router.  Other PCs on the network can print just fine to the same printer.

The PCs are running windows.  The printer is connected to the router via ethernet.  I'm connected wirelessly to the router.  The problem started when I updated the firmware on the M2727nf last week.

  • Can't print to networked hp laserjet 1320tn

hi there. so i have printer driver updates using apple software update, but haven't been able to print to a networked hp laserjet 1320tn since upgrading snow leopard to 10.6.2. it keeps "looking for printer;" this printer queue worked on 10.6.1. if i install the printer (a second queue) by ip address, trying to print to it keeps saying the address is "busy."

ping is successful, and AFAIK the address is static. web interface gives me the following info for the printer in question:
Status: Processing - "Looking for printer..."
Description: hp LaserJet 1320 series (5E7534)
    Location: 192.168.34.5
Driver: HP LaserJet 1320 series (grayscale, 2-sided printing)
    Connection: mdns://hp%20LaserJet%201320%20series%20(5E7534).printer.tcp.local.
    i'm completely stumped here.

  • Networked HP Laserjet 1022 only prints one copy at a time!!

Hi, I am using a HP Laserjet 1022 printer connected to a Windows Network. Although the exact driver is not listed I get around using the closest driver in the list. Under Tiger everything was fine, after upgrading to Leopard I can only print one copy of a document at a time. When I put any number of copies in the box only one copy is printed.
    Thank you in advance.

read this thread here and my solutions about the 1020.
The driver is also for 1022.
Works great with leopard and 1020, needs to work perfect with leopard and 1022.
Download and do as I describe.

  • Networking color laserjet 3800 printer with Windows 7 OS

I have a color laserjet 3800 that is networked in an office of 5 computers using Windows XP pro OS.  I just purchased a HP pavilion Slimline Windows 7 64 bit OS computer.  The networking and printer networking set up was a breeze until it came to connecting the 3800.  I have downloaded the PCL 5, 6 and universal drivers.  When I go to add printer as a network printer and choose the 3800 it gives an error of not being able to find a driver.  I tried to manually find the driver but it does not find a match in PCL 5, 6 or universal driver.  The link below clearly shows the 3800 to be compatible with windows 7, but I cannot get it work.
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=HP%20Col...
The network absolutely sees the printer and lets it be chosen but does not let it get installed on the windows 7 machine.
    Thank you for any assistance.

My HP Laserjet 4100n is no longer accessible over my wired/wireless network from my iMac and Macbooks.  This is new since I upgraded to OSX 10.6.8.  The printer works fine from my old windows laptop.  Thanks in advance for any help.

appears that apple has changed SMB code, and now its not possible login from windows on mac.
i installed snow leopard and now works fine.
apple is capable to make it run paying new license of smb code, but isnted of this, apple has created new protocol smbx and now, all others need to adapt your code to apple..
bad movement.. i am thinking sell imac and no back to apple anymore..

  • Can't print across network with LaserJet 1220

I'm trying to print across our home wireless network  from my Windows 7 64-bit computer to a LaserJet 1220 connected to a Windows XP 32-bit computer.  My computer sees the printer in the network, but when I try to install it on my computer, it searches the web for a driver but can't find one.  There must be a way to get this to work.  Any ideas?

    How about this?

  • Can't install networked HP LaserJet 3055 on HP Mini

Not a resolution issue. HP mini 1101; Windows XP home SP3. Virus protection and Firewalls off.
HP LaserJet 3055 All-in-one is hard-wired (Ethernet) into wireless router. Mini accessing network wirelessly, and is able to see Internet and other computers on network. Successfully installed printer (using CD) on two desktop computers on the network, both running XP Pro (one wireless and one hard-wired to the router).
Since I don't have a CD drive, I downloaded lj3050x-309x-PCL6-pnp-win-en.exe. I ran the file and installation failed. It kept telling me to make sure the printer is on and connected to the network (yes, and yes).
I downloaded lj3050x-309x-PCL6-pd-win-en.exe and tried to manually install. Wizard can't find the printer (installing as network printer). I ask it to browse, but it only sees Microsoft Windows Network and the sub-item WORKGROUP. Instead of browsing, I type the name of the printer, but it doesn't recognize it.
Printer's name is "Henry". I typed "HP LaserJet 3055 Series PCL 6", "Henry - HP LaserJet 3055 Series PCL 6"  (both with and without spaces and/or underscores), and the IP address of the printer... nothing.
Is there a specific way to type the name of the printer, or a different address I'm supposed to use? Any other ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi @Memphis-Cat
It would help if you could post a little more detail. Can you print from NotePad? What happens when you try?
If I understand correctly, you have the printer installed but can not print, is this correct. If you are having difficulty with the install itself, please download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
Also, the Print and Scan Doctor should give you the option to choose your default printer, can you please run it again and let me know the outcome?
Please  let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Unable to use scan with networked HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP using Mac OSX, but able to print.

    Thanks for any help.
I'm using an HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP.
It is networked wirelessly via an Apple Extreme and prints just fine over the network but will not scan.
Yet, it scans just fine when I move the printer's USB cable from the Extreme directly to the MacBook Pro (a bit of a hassel).
When I try to scan over the wireless network, I'm able to go through the scan driver interface and see the printer, but when I click on "Scan", I recieve this error message:
    "Scanner communication cannot be established."
"HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP is currently unavailabe.  Ensure cables are connected.. etc."
I'm running OSX 10.8.3 on an old MacBook Pro (2008)

Hello, DP Photo, sounds like a scanning issue with the software. To start I want you to completely remove the software and then reinstall the programming from the packages available on the website I am going to link you to below. Use the full-feature software if available.

  • Networking a Laserjet 5si through two routers.

We have on our home network an HP Laserjet 5si (with the network adaptor) which we use as our primary printer. Lately, the main router (a D-Link Di604 out of which all 3 computers on our network leave) has broken, we have another router to replace it, but whilst the internet and networking works fine through this new router, the printer does not. The printer is in a second D-Link router (a wireless one, unsure of model) which comes out the 4th spare port on the first router. The PS3 also on this router works fine with the new setup. I seem to recall that setting up the printer in the first place was quite a difficult task as we had no instructions and just worked it out as we went along. With the new router, the printer cannot be found by any of our computers, even if I tell it the printers local IP address. How can we set the router up to work through this router configuration?
    Thanks,
    Pablo.

  • We have a HP Color LaserJet CP1510 printer, how do you re-set the language when it's set in foreign?

Our HP Printer CP1510 got set to a foreign language, haven't a clue what it is, and since we can't read it to figure out what it says we don't know which buttons to push to get it set back to English.  Has anyone else encountered this?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Thanks for the post.  I've included a link below that may assist in getting this printer back to a factory state and allow you to reconfigure.  Please note, bottom paragraph regarding the IP address after the reset.  Good Luck!

  • Problem with networking HP Laserjet 1100 with Leopard with new Intel iMac

I have an HP Laserjet 1100 that I have used with my old iMac running Panther. I had used the HPIJS drivers in the past with the HP Laserjet 5 driver selected. It worked flawlessly. I use IPP to connect to the printer via a printer server.
I have purchased a new iMac which is Intel based and runs Leopard. I am having a lot of trouble getting this printer to work with it. I went to the website referenced above and installed Ghostscript, Foomatic RIP and then finally HPIJS. As I add the printer, it gave me the option to select an HP Laserjet 1100 printer (from the HPIJS set). When I add the IP address, it says it is valid. When I try to print, there is no response; the job just times out. I had the same problem with the Gutenprint driver that was installed with Leopard.
Finally, I tried the HP Laserjet 6 from the HPIJS driver set. It had the word "recommended" next to it which was intriguing. It too did not work.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Steve Kirchner

I'm afraid that Ghostscript, etc. are PPC only applications and any printer plug-ins they install will not work on an Intel Mac. You should uninstall all the third-party stuff you've installed for the printer, then only use the included printer driver installed by OS X unless HP has a universal binary driver compatible with OS X and Intel Macs. You might try using LPD rather than IPP for the printer.
