Networking disabled with most recent iTunes install
I am running Windows Vista 64-bit on a Toshiba Satellite P305D. I have been trying to update to the latest version of iTunes. Once the Apple network adapters and serial bus controllers are installed, my networking is disabled. I have a Marvell Yukon ethernet card and an Atheros network adapter. Right-click on the system tray icon for the networking and running diagnose and repair gives the message that the Marvell has "hardware or driver issues." Reinstalling the drivers for both devices did not fix the problem and only a system restore has worked to get it back. I also have the same problem when trying to uninstall Apple mobile device support. With some work I have managed to uninstall Quicktime and iTunes without issue. No error messages show up and iTunes works well following the install.
Any suggestions?

Itunes won't connect, status bar goes about half way and stops, then times out. I have tried all fixes posted, you name it, I have done it. Running Vista and current version of Itunes. Can connect to Internet with any other app. Using Firefox, their latest version if that matters.
I have seen this is an on going problem throughout the Itunes community. All I can say is 'Bad Form Apple, Bad form.'One more odd thing. The itunes diagnostics believes my windows firewall is on which is it not (believe me I've checked/double checked etc) AND believes itunes is not enable in windows firewall which it is, if ever I turned WF on. How can itunes get this wrong? I mean, if itunes believes its being blocked, maybe that's why I'm being blocked...has anyone heard of this?

After installing the most recent iTunes update/version iTunes will no longer run on my PC (Windows 7). I receive multiple error windows with the Microsoft error code R6034. Microsoft's Help site states that this error occurs when a driver attempts to access the C++ library without a "Manifest". I do not know what a manifest is, but apparently any attempt to directly access the C++ library is not permitted. The site instructs the viewer to contact the application developer.

I have downloaded the most recent itunes on my new computer with windows 8 but when I attempt to get in I get this message "The itunes library.itl file is locked, ona locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." How do i fix this?
Repair iTunes Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.
If you've brought over the library from another computer you may also want to remove any "mystery" identities (S<string of dashes & digts>) that have come over from the old computer...

When you see it in Firefox - do the thumbnail populate the grid? See attached populated and un-populated.

I want to upgrade the software (currently I have Mac OS X 10.6.4) but when the mac is downloading the new version i get an error message and is not possible get the most updated software: Mac OS X 10.6.8 or either the most recent itunes why?!?!?!
Then you either have a network problem or a hardware problem or a corrupted hard drive. You might try:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
You can also try downloading from another computer on a different network connection. -
My most recent iTunes library is now greyed out
My most recent iTunes library is now greyed out when I try to select it when opening iTunes with the option key. I had just made a backup (different name) now I can't open the original. Other previous iTunes libraries are available but some are also greyed out and cannot be selected. Other questions about this all seem to refer to the song files themselves which are fine in my case, I have 15000 songs so I have many playlists that i don't want to have to recreate. Thanks for your time.
I recalled after I posted this that the correct term for this is subdued and not greyed out. I tried a solution provided in another link to highlight the file name and choose open. A window came up showing that I was opening iTunes for the first time so my library file seems to be from a previous version (I was using 10.7). Howerver, another window comes up showing that the file cant be opened because it was made with a newer version of iTunes. Is there any trick to solving this files identity crisis? Thanks again.

I have an iPod 5th gen. My audiobook playlists disappeared. They show as "on this device" in iTunes, but I cannot locate them on the device. Even the audiobook tab has disappeared. This happed after the most recent iTunes update.
- Delete all AB and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Audio Book (if present) and delete
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

All I was wondering if anyone was having issues with Lightrooms beta and pointing devices… while I’m sure the Wacom Introus4 is dying in Lightroom I can’t verify that my Mouse is as well.
I’m using the most recent Beta of Lightroom and Wacom Tablet Driver 615-3a… I’m sure the issue dosent reside with another program because the tablet only stops working in Lightroom. Basically I loose all tablet functionality until I reboot whin I attempt to access the Film Strip… I’ve repeated a few times and with each it dies…Unfortunately, although you are getting problems with your Wacom and Lr, the solution for the short term is to re-install an older driver for the tablet until Wacom come up with a new update to fix the prolem. This has been a long running problem for users when operating Lr with Wacom tablets.
(I offer this solution not from personal experience, but from what other tablet users have reported in previous threads, and there have been several). -
I just found my old ipod touch (i think 1st generation) and would like to let my toddler use it instead of my phone. I am trying to download apps but it say I need to update to 4.3 but it won't let me update. I have the most recent itunes. any idea why? I saw a thread saying to purchase the newest software (that was posted a few years ago) I paid 4.95 for the software and it's still saying it can't be updated. Am I just SOL??
The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

I have a 3rd gen iPod touch and I downloaded the most recent itunes, ever since I did, only the first song syncs to the ipod. As soon as it gets to the second, it still says its syncing. However, nothing happens. How do I fix this? I have restored and updated the ipod. I have the new iTunes. I have restarted my computer checked the connection and everything.
