Networking Into A PC Office

Hey all,
I am a die hard mac home user. At my new job, they have a windows network and have given me a dell laptop. However, they have allowed me to play with the possibility of using a macbook on their network (and if it works, they will pay for my macbook's purchase).
I know I can run windows on it, but just would prefer to work in a native mac OS. Thats not a problem day to day except recognizing the network and printing have become difficult to surmount issues.
From the get go, the computer plugged right into the network and worked with the office exchange server and allowed me to cruise the internet, however its had a tough time actually functioing as part of the office file network.
We finally, after a couple of days of brining our outside tech consultants in, managed to let me save and retrieve files from our network in a rather complicated workaround. However, I still can't print to any of our network printers (or even find them).
Is there a simple way to do this? I am still new here and don't want to waste more money on the outside tech consultants. If its not a simple matter of plug and go, then I will just be resigned to using the Dell (bah!!! curses!!!) but I really would like if someone could direct me to an easy fix.

Since you're the only Mac user in a Windows environment I would encourage you to look into either ADMitMac or Dave from http://www.thursby.com.
My reasonsing is this: For about $100 you get a tool that your Windows folks will probably understand better how to configure than trying to find workarounds for the Mac OS's SMB client. And you'll get support from a well established company.
Yes, you can use the built-in SMB client on Mac OS X, but it has problems that Dave and ADMitMac have already dealt with. Plus you'll participate in the network as if you're a Windows computer, which I'm sure your admins will appreciate. And you won't need to make any software or settings changes on your Windows servers.
It's a little extra cost to you but worth the time and frustration you'll save.

Like when open a drawing pdf which is inserted into Excel(office 365) as an object, some lines, dimensions with remark can not be displayed and only few graph can be displayed.
But if the drawing is a separate PDF file, not inserted into Excel(office 365)as an object, the Adobe XI reader can always open it with all graphs, figures, texts, lines etc. smoothly.

Please explain in full detal what you are trying to do and what happens when you try. I don't understand what you mean by "displacing a pdf (file?)".

A Sprint iPhone uses CDMA when in the US. The SIM is used only when not in the US.
To use it in the US, you have to have Sprint activate it, but it is unlikely they will activate in on your company's account.

How to copy the table datas into an open office excel file .

I have a form which contains several pages . Each page contains some tables in it . How can we copy each table datas into an open office execl files ??
I mean there will be several excel files each file corresponds to a particular table in the form. I am using LiveCycle Designer ES 2 . in Windows XP.

Here is a screenshot of exporting the form data to XML:
I have not imported XML into Excel, but I know that Excel 2007 has tools for this in the Developer tab. I don't have Excel 2007 on this machine, so I can't get screenshots. However using Acrobat you can merge the XML file into a spreadsheet, using the same menu Forms > Manage Form Data > Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet.
In addition you can set up a data connection to the spreadsheet. However this will only work in a Windows environment and you need to share the OLEDB data connection with all users. In addition if you Reader Enable the form with Acrobat, the data connection will not work.
So on balance if you want to get data to a spreadsheet I would recommend export XML.

Integrating a Domain controller into a small office setup

So this is where I am:
I am trying to integrate a windows 2012 server which I can use as my domain controller in our office and run active directory from it, then eventually group policy, wsus, microsoft deployments and windows deployment toolkits etc.
However because our current Mitel 3300 phone system sets the phone DHCP I don't want to mess the current network arrangement up.
This is the internal structure:
Our internet router's IP address 172.16.21.1
Mitel 3300 Box IP address 192.168.10.10
Default gateway 192.168.0.1
So our IP phones sit on the subnet of 192.168.10.xxx and our PC's grab IP's such as 192.168.0.xxx up to 192.168.0.254.
What should I set my DHCP settings on the Domain controller to see the PC's on the current network, and or the DNS settings as I am fairly new to this.
If I havent explained anything properly please let me know and I will provide more info, thanks.

Are phone and computer both DHCP clients i.e. no have static addresses?
In server 2012 r2 DHCP you have the ability to rules so the phones can get ip addresses from the phone system and the computers can get ip addresses for the Domain controller.
Are you sure the phone system is DHCP for both and not your firewall? with two network adapters? or phone system one and firewall another dhcp?
typically if you phone system is giving out DHCP it would need two ip addresses and interfaces to be able to host both subnets.

ASA5505 I cannot reach to an outside network from a branch office

My customer has a HQ office and many Branch offices. In the HQ there is an ASA5510 configured as a default gateway, From HQ customer must access to internet (everythig works fine), from Inside LAN should reach to anyway including special services like Credit Card service provider and others (it works fine). From Branch offices must reach Inside LAN hosts (it works fine), from Branch Offices must reach DMZ (it works fine), from branch offices should reach CC Service provider and here's the point of this Q, From almost all branch offices they reach CCSP fine but branch offices where an ASA5505 is installed (Offices that reach CCSP have a RV042 installed or a TPlink ER6120 installed) but offices with ASA just can ping to LAN side of CCSP's router.
I think ASA5505 conf is an opened door configuration. Here's the 5505 configuration and also attached the network diagram. Some one can help please

Are the branch offices connected to the HQ through some ISP MPLS network since I do not see any L2L VPN configurations on the ASA5505?
I presume this is the case. Since you say that the connections between Branch Office (with ASA5505) and HQ LAN work fine it should tell us that there should be no routing problems between those networks.
The diagram possibly also suggests that all the Branch Office connections come to your HQ network through the same Router at the edge so if other Branc Offices connections CCSP work then there should be no routing problem between the Branch Offices and the CCSP (atleast regarding your part of the network)
Now, some questions.
Does the ISR Router forward traffic destined to CCSP directly to the Router at 192.168.2.249 ?
Does the Router with the connection to the CCSP use the Internet to reach the CCSP or is there somekind of dedicated connection between these networks?
If the Router towards CCSP uses Internet then does it lack some NAT configurations for the source network 192.168.27.0/24? Does it perhaps lack a route towards the network 192.168.27.0/24? Or is there any possible errors in the configurations (wrong gateway IP or network mask somewhere?)
Is there any ACLs configured on the Router that has the connection to the CCSP that might block traffic?
Does the CCSP have all the required routing information to pass traffic towards the network 192.168.27.0/24? (If were talking about a dedicated connection and not traffic through the Internet) Have they allowed traffic from the mentioned network 192.168.27.0/24 to their servers/network?
Have you taken "packet-tracer" output from the ASA5505 to confirm that the ASA configurations allow the traffic and dont drop it for some reason?
For example
packet-tracer input inside tcp 192.168.27.100 12345 193.168.1.100 80
You can modify the IP addresses (source/destination) and the used destination port and protocol to match the connections that are actually attempted.
Have you monitored the connections on the ASA when users attempt them? This should atleast tell you why they are failing or give a hint. You could also configure traffic capture on the ASA5505 if you wanted to make sure if any traffic was coming from the CCSP towards this ASA (return traffic for connection attempt)

Query networking into hostile windows environment

I have been getting kernel panics on shutdown of my new Imac 24 since i got it out of the box.
Additionally I have had a disintegrating experience with Airport.
At first was working fine and i could connect to net etc.
Then problems connectng, etc.
To the point where i cannot even see the hardware in system profile anymore.
The crash reports after the KPs implicate the Airport kexts.
I did a archive and install - no love.
I used pacifist and extracted and installed airport drivers etc. Restarted.
Voila I could see Airport ... yay. shutdown - no KP. Yay.
Restart, no Airport, and KPs again.
My theory
I am in an area thick with wireless networks.
Something i did trying to connect to something has corrupted and continues to corrupt my Airport drivers every startup.
Is this a possibility?
I am fine using the ethernet into the network.
I am contemplating taking the machine back to apple when i have finished the job i am doing here.

Strangest thing!
2 months after this problem occurring everyday
to the point where I dont even think about it
I noticed that the crash reports were no longer appearing at startup
and the hard shutdown was no longer required
and voila the airport card is visible again
IT HAS FIXED ITSELF
I have no idea how this could be
the machine has not been online, I had stopped doing diagnostic/repair attempts some weeks ago.
could repeated startups work their way through the OS and eventually repair the code?
I do think it is still the hardware behaving erratically
any thoughts

Implementing real time networking into existing app

Its been some time since I have delved into the depths of networking. Hopefully someone can direct me in the right direction.
I have a desktop application with a MySQL backend. The application manages athletes, events, competitions etc for an athletics club. We can currently run the application on a machine hosting the MySQL database. From here we can connect a second machine with a separate instance of the application, connected to the MySQL database on the previous host machine.
Records can be simultaneously added or modified in parallel on both machines. Unfortunately if a record is created for example on the host machine A, machine B (connected to the MySQL database on host A via a network) does not detect this modification until machine B does an action to update the current screen. In which case the new record is visually shown.
What I would like to implement in the cleanest way into this current application is real time networking. So that when a record is updated on any machine connected to the host (including the host). That a signal is sent to each client connected to the host to update current contents in application if required.
What relevant material would you recommend I cover?
Would simple sockets do the trick?

Mac InDesign CS6 crashes when adding files with links to Windows network into book

Our Mac network is unstable, so I tested linking InDesign CS6 files (on my Mac's hard drive) to .jpg files on our company's very stable Windows network rather to the same .jpg files on our Mac network. I tested with 4 simple, small InDesign files. When these 4 files were linked to images on a storage drive on our Mac network, I could drag all 4 files into a book and export the book to PDF. But when linked to the same images on the Windows network, while each file would open fine with no errors, and while I could generate a PDF from each individual file, the moment I dragged the 4 files into a book, InDesign crashed, generating pages of information in the crash report form.
I have no problem making 500 page manuals on my hard drive, comprised of about 50 InDesign files, with links to THOUSANDS of image files on a storage drive on our Mac network. Is there some trick to making a book with files linked to images on a Windows network? If there is no simple answer, who could I call to set us up so this will work?

I recently upgraded to OS 10.6.8 and it paused network printer, now whole office cannot print. Help

All Macs in the office recently updated to the new 10.6.8 OS and now the network printer (a XEROX machine) has been paused so that no print jobs sent to it from any computer are processed. The machine itself still works (can copy, scan, fax, etc.) on its own, but new OS system is preventing anyone from sending jobs to it. Any suggestions?

FOund solution as follows:
Go to the Finder, choose the Go menu, choose Go to Folder, enter or copy /usr/libexec/cups/backend/ the click Go and the "backend" folder will open in the Finder. With that folder open, Enter Time Machine, and go back in time until prior to the update, click on the LPD file and Restore it. I chose to keep both the original and the backup when Time Machine prompted, that way I end up with both files just in case.

Turn Two Networks into One?

I need help. I have two Macs on airport, both running 10.4.4, the old cube is ethernet connected to the airport base station, the other, G5 iMac, is wireless. Now I've added airtunes, but to make airtunes work, a separate network was created. So to use Safari, I use one network that goes on the web but won't let airtunes run, and when I change to the other network then airtunes runs on the home stereo, but I can't get on the web. I can't figure out what I messed up, but it can't be that hard to make one network function for both Safari and Airtunes?
Can anyone tell me what I messed up and how I might be able to fix it?

Cant add canon iP2700 series (by network) into my Macbookpro

I need a little help from u guys, so here is the case:
Currently i use MacBookPro 13in with retina, and i work in a office where major use windows PC and printers. the case is My Mac cannot use the printer (Canon iP2770) while I can used it if I boot my windows8 in my Mac the same mac - dual booting (simple run the ip address).
I've tried searching for a solution in this forum, and found 2 solutions, (1) I tried using a manual input for IP Address in "Printer & Scanner" as suggested (but the printer cant be added, due to problem occurs, as it said) Then (2) I tried the "advanced" menu such as: URL: smb://IPAddress/sharename or smb://server/server/sharename ( I use "smb://xxx.xxx.x.xxx/printer%20name" --> xxx.xxx.x.xxx is the printer ip address). but still the problem occurs (I've downloaded and installed Canon Original Driver from the manufacturer website), the printer was successfuly added to the system if I used the "advanced menu" but it cant be use to print "any" document, it always Stop/Pause (in the printer menu).
Please anybody can help me, i barely frustrated T_T
