    Hi @OHIMATAS,
I see by your post that you are unable to network the printer to the Windows XP computer, but the Windows 7 computer is connected. I can help you with this.
Make sure the Windows XP computer is connected to the correct network name, not a Guest network either.
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address.
    Printing a Configuration Page.
Try and access the printer's Embedded Web Server on the Windows XP computer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
    Did it load the webpage?
If you can't access the printer's EWS, then check the IP address on the computer to see if the first 3 sets of numbers match the printer's IP. They have to match to be on the same network.
Go to start, type run in the search box, type in cmd, then type ipconfig.
    Check the IPV4 address.
Now check the IPV4 address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?
    Try and ping the printer.
In the same window, type ping printers IP address (space between ping and IP address)
    What are the results?
Run the add printer wizard through printers and faxes, if you were able to access the printer's EWS.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • Any fix for the PC based network printer communication issue with Mavericks?

Any fix for the PC based network printer communication issue with Mavericks?

I just signed up for FIOS and am not experiencing your problem (had enough other ones instead).
Go to mail preferences ~ click on a mail account ~ click on the advanced tab. The only settings that worked for me were: port 110 SSL OFF, authentication: Authenticated POP (APOP). If I remember correctly when I first set this up another window opened and I typed in my password and never had to do that again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't create VLAN's with Cisco Network Assistant

    Hello everyone
I have a problem with my newest Switch, a WS-C2960X-48TS-L
Normaly I can programm all my Switches with Cisco Network Assistant. But now I have a problem with creating VLAN's. I can create them, safe them but after a refresh, all the new VLAN's are gone!
I updated the CNA to the newest Build 6.0 and updated the Switch to 15.2(2)E, but nothing helps!
Over the CLI I can do everything, but this is not a option for me! To programm sometimes a switch CNA is perfect for me! If it works!!
    Thanks
    Tobi

yes I can programm the vlan's over CLI. That's works. I have not tested this if its really works, but the VLAN's are programmed.
hmm I checked the STP / VTP settings with a second identical Switch, but there are no differents. Made a backup of one Switch and restore on the other One, but I'm still not able to create VLAN's.
however, I contacted my vendor today, he tell me that it shouldt be a problem to take back the switch.
    Best regards

  • Can anyone tell me how to install a network printer driver without having the network printer online?

Can anyone tell me how to install a network printer driver without having the network printer online? It doesn't matter what manufactors make the network printers. Is a netwaork printer(with network card) has to have that printer on line to be able to install
the driver? This is the point of my question!
I've ask a same type of question previously, but I can't either get good answer nor reply on the response.

    DP
The computer (and driver) have to handshake with the printer, QED it has to be either online or physically connected and if it is physically connected it wont work on the network so yes it does.

  • How to get Network Printing to work with Brother!!

So i have my BROTHER DCP-7020 printer connected to my Windows machine and i've been sharing the printer on the network with my old iMac 24' which prints perfectly. Now i have the 27' imac and i have no idea why it won't do printing via network, plugging in USB works fine, i've installed the driver but it doesn't look like it did anything. It just worked on my 24' without any hassle, it gets detected in the "Printer Settings" automatically and i dont recall doing anything to get it to work before.
Can anyone give me some tips of why it won't print and what I need to do in order to get network printing to work on my new Mac?
By the way BOTH MACHINE runs SNOW LEOPARD.

  • SCOM network discovery & port stitching with Cisco UCS & Hyper-V and/or VMware

Before we have our network engineers reconfigure their infrastructure to allow network discovery from SCOM, does anyone know whether or not SCOM will include the virtual switches (Hyper-V or VMware), the UCS fabric interconnects, and the hosted virtual machines in the network vicinity dashboard if you enable network monitoring in SCOM? We're hoping to have monitoring visibility of all network components end-to-end in SCOM, but I've not been able to find any useful information online as to how SCOM network discovery/monitoring handles infrastructure like UCS.

The PF Vnic within UCS Manager has one vlan attached and is tagged native. The Fabric Network Set has a matching network segment with the same vlan ID. I removed the pin group. The port profile according to the SCVMM documentation needs to be set to "Sla only" which removes the options for vlans within the port profile. I've tried adjusting Host Network IO Performance as well with no luck. System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012R2 still throws the same two errors. One thing to note is we are trying to do this thru SCVMM and not Hyper-V on the host itself.
I opened a TAC case and there is one known bug for

There is no workaround for the issue currently.

  • Best networked printer for a MAC based network?

I may regret asking this :"), but what is the best network printer to use on a MAC based network? I have been the victim on the bloatware HP drivers for years, and am really sick of them. But what do I purge this nightmare for? Canon (like the MX860) looks interesting and is multifunction (a requirement). Lexmark seems to making a comeback, and Brother as well. Epson has seemed to do OK as well. Who has the most reliable drivers for the OSX platform, updates them the most regularly, and seems to actually care about Apple (as opposed to pandering to the Windows crowd almost exclusively).?
    Comments?
    Dan O

I did my homework for network printer/scanner/fax and came up with the Brother Color Laser MFC-9840 CDW. It's got every button and whistle, and they all work on a Mac or PC network. You can scan from the machine and pick which Mac to send the scan to, or scan from a Mac. Sheet feeder works for fax and scan, real duplex printing. All works on Leopard. They have lower models which will also work, but without the Color, or Wireless (which we don't use).
I've seen great on-going driver development with the latest operating systems...

  • Trying to access Mac networked printer from laptop with Windows XP

    Hi
I'm stuck: I have printer sharing enabled on my G5, printer is connected to my router; from system pref/print & fax/ my URL for the printer is as follows:
    mdns://myprinter+serial#.printer.tcp.local.
    Windows wants this format
    http://printservername/Printers/sharename/.printer
I've tried any number of permutations, and can't get the printer to show up in the printer wizard. I installed the software/drivers in the PC for the specific printer.
I'm just not a PC user, and can't figure this out!

Find the IP address of the mac in Network Prefs.
Find the Mac's queue name for that printer in Print & Fax > highlight printer > Get Info (Show Info).
On the PC, add new printer, and add the printer exactly as you were trying, filling in IP address for "printserver_name" and queue name for "share_name." Don't need the "/.printer" part. For driver, you'll need to choose a postscript printer model driver, even if that printer isn't a postscript one. The Mac will translate the postscript to the printer's language. Apple Color Laserwriter xx/xx worked well for me.

  • Network interface cards tested with cisco agent desktop and CTI Toolkit Desktop Silent Monitor

    Hi Guys,
My Customer is testing the Silent Monitoring, but, not is working. He is using the NIC Intel 82579LM, version 17.4 - 64 bits. I read the documentation the link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/voicesw/custcosw/ps5693/ps14/prod_system_requirements0900aecd800e3149.pdf
but, the reference is to version 7.1.3. My Customer work with UCCX and CUCM version 8.6. Are there one specific documentation about this version? The link don´t show the NIC tested by my Customer
    Thank You,
    Best Regards,
    Wilson

    Hi
I've done lots of deployments of this on UCCX, and still haven't found a NIC that doesn't work. I'm sure there are some, but they appear to be very rare.
If you can sniff the UDP when a call is in progress, it can work. If you can't, then it's usually down to configuration - e.g. non-phone-connected PCs, span-to-PC-port, PC vvvlan access, etc etc.

  • LAN network design - Core/access with Cisco 6513

    Hi,
I have been tasked with setting up a new branch office, with 100+ users, a stack of servers (1Gb-based) and some wireless access points, WAN block (ASA 5520 and a couple of routers.)
At the moment, port requirement is around 400.
As there's not enough space and it's only a single floor office, I'm thinking to go ahead with one of Cisco 6500 models, specifically Catalyst 6513-E, as a core and access switch. This way, there won't be any need to try to install 48-port switches around the small office area.
I'm not too sure about the pricing at the moment. It may be a better/cheaper option to go with a couple of 3750s as core/aggregation and 2960s for access switch installed all in the same rack. If I go with small switches, it would be roughly x7 48-port access switches and one stack of two 3750s, which gives about 450-60.
I believe I won't utilise half of the capacity if I go ahead with 6513, however my manager wants to minimise the overhead managing this branch office hence this all-in-all one switch option has resurfaced.
Is there anyone using this kind of similar setup in the environment? If so, can you please share your opinions?
Also, would there be a huge difference in terms of pricing?

I was just going over 4510R+E for a potential winner; It seems to have 10 slots, which gives me about 390 Gig ports, with two dual sups. Given that a single sup 8E can provide throughput as below table, I should think about going forward with a single sup.
Given that most users will be on 100Mbps at peak time and all other miscellaneous traffic, it would come down to around 20Gbps.

  • Networking load balancing - problem with backup network

The thing is, that if I setup hosts in cluster to use backup Network, the vitual IP and FQDN will not answer. If I utilize domain Network for clustering, it works okay. I´m not sure, what is the best way to configure it when using NLB. My backup Network
is configured to use different vLAN and tcp/ip settings have only IP and subnet mask. Gateway adress is not in use.
I have been playing with fail-over cluster which is different technology, and there backup Network is different from production Network, locating in different vLAN so the connector between 2 nodes is totally different that production/domain Network.
But with NLB, this seems not working.

  • How to clear the dhcp leases in Cisco Network Registrar

    Hello,
I have a setup with Cisco Network Registrar. We have a few scoops with the lease time set to forever. Now I want to reconfigure the scoops to have a 24h hour leasetime. But before this I would like to clear all the current leases. I have problems doing this. I have tried to delete the scoop and then create a new but the old leases is still there. Does anyone have any ides?

I did not get it to work. I had to delete each lease in the subnet manually. I suggest you use the batch command to do it.
Just go to the local/bin folder where the cnr is installed and issue the following:
    nrcmd -N username -P password -b <"PATH TO FILE"
Just make a textfile with the commands you want to run as a batch like:
    lease 10.28.4.1 force-available
You need to do one row for each ip.

  • Cisco Networking Academy IT Education

It turns out that even paradise needs computer skills. Right now, Mauritius, an idyllic island
nation in the Indian Ocean, is banking on technology expertise to give its economy a kick start—
and the Cisco® Networking Academy® is playing an important role in its plans.
The country intends to introduce Networking Academy training in order to satisfy the domestic
demand for networking skills and provide qualified technical personnel for a burgeoning business
    process outsourcing (BPO) industry.
BPO has become one of the great engines of economic change in Mauritius since two of its economic
mainstays, the sugar cane and textiles industries, have come under threat.
Sugar cane production has been affected in recent years by a fall in global prices for sugar and
the removal of import protection; and the textiles industry faces increasingly fierce overseas
    competition.
BPO offers an economic lifeline because it plays to two of the island's important strengths. One
is that Mauritians are native English and French speakers, and so can easily staff call centers
and help-lines for clients in Europe.
"Once the 15 networking academies are established, I see a major growth in the number of
    networking graduates."
    — Alfie Hamid, Cisco Networking Academy area manager
The second is that state education in Mauritius is of a high standard and free to all at any
level. The result is a highly literate and well-educated population, an ideal basis for developing
    an IT-orientated economy.
Taking these factors into account, the Mauritian government has set about positioning the island
as an attractive location for IT companies by setting up an appropriate legal framework,
liberalizing telecommunications and improving the infrastructure, amongst other measures.
Consequently, the country's IT industry has increased by an average 25 percent year-on-year in the
last five years, with more than 350 companies operating in BPO, IT-enabled services, software
development, multimedia, call centers, hardware, consultancy, training and Web development.
Companies that have opened operations in Mauritius include Accenture, Cisco, France Telecom,
Hinduja Group, HP, IBM, Infosys, Microsoft and Oracle.
This influx of foreign businesses has led to an exponentially growing demand for IT skills and
increasingly higher salaries, which has resulted in local IT academics leaving their university
posts for better-paid jobs in the private sector.
The collaboration with Cisco should ease this shortage of skills by helping to create a range of
    new IT training facilities.
It is the result of a government conference called "Export of Human Resource Development
Services", held in the capital of Port Louis, and has the blessing of the Mauritius Ministry of
Finance, Board of Investment and Joint Economic Council.
Other participants at the conference included the United Nations Development Programme, the
Commonwealth Secretariat and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO), as well as Cisco and Orange Business Services.
The decision to link up with Cisco was swift and decisive, says Alfie Hamid, Networking Academy
area academy manager: "Unlike other governments that simply talk about investment in IT skills,
here in Mauritius actions speak louder than words."
As well as being a speaker at the conference, Hamid was instrumental in developing the agreement,
along with Alen Venkatasami, a Cisco national account manager in Mauritius.
The collaboration with Cisco entails the opening of 15 new Networking Academies offering Cisco IT
Essentials courses, based in state secondary schools, while the University of Mauritius
concentrates on training potential IT professionals to CCNP® level as a regional academy.
In addition, the newly established Mauritius University of Technology will teach to CCNA® level.
Skills training will be free and open to all. Additionally, scholarships will be available for
each student enrolled on CCNP courses at the University of Mauritius.
Investment to support the program will come from a variety of public and private sources, with the
Ministry of Finance backing the University of Mauritius academy to the tune of USD$75,000.
The creation of new Academies is not the only government investment in IT training; the
administration has also created a mobile "cyber caravan", a coach filled with PCs that is used to
introduce people in remote locations to computers, echoing a similar initiative in Egypt.
And further public sector investment in IT has resulted from the government's creation of the
island's first cyber-city, near to the University of Mauritius.
The city, located scant kilometers from Port Louis, will have satellite links and a connection to
a fiber-optic backbone linking Portugal, South Africa and Malaysia.
It is designed to provide services including computing on demand, data centers and server farms
for Web hosting, e-commerce and financial transactions. The city has already been tipped as an
ideal location for disaster recovery services, given Mauritius's remote location.
All this spells a rosy future for a nation which, according to Mark Twain, served as the template
for heaven. Hamid says: "Once the 15 Networking Academies are established, I see a major growth in
    the number of networking graduates.
"This will increase the advanced IT skills base in the country and help contribute to an increase
in economic growth and foreign direct investment in the country."

No, there's not any supported way to do what you're asking with CNA. Its configuration options are pretty limited - modify port configurations on a discovered community member and upgrade software.
The sort of thing you're looking to do is more of a feature built into Cisco Prime LMS (currently), Prime Infrastructure (2.0 - out next month), or by using Smart Install.
