Networking problem - after repeated visits websites become unreachable.

Here's the situation. I am already using SL for a week now, the 10A432 build which now has been released as the retail.
When I am browsing, using Firefox 3.5.2 or the latest Safari, and I use i.e. Google several times in a row to find stuff on the net, it will after some time refuse to connect to Google or whatever website you used repeatedly. Like, I switch to Bing, it works for, lets say 10 searches in short time and the, the same problem. But Google starts working again. Portals like news-portals with lots of links give me the same problem: open 10-12 of these links and then pages will no longer load: the server is unavailable.
All settings are ok and unchanged from the Leopard OS-installation. I upgraded , it went perfect and seemed flawless.
Except this. Anybody else with similar problems ??
It's installed on my Mac Mini Core 2 Duo [2008]. Took max. 20 minutes, installing from USB stick, Systemfolder is only 3.94 GB.

HI,
For Safari. From the Safari Menu Bar, select Safari/Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Look in ~/Library/Internet Plugins and ~/Library/Input Mangers. If are any files in those folders, drag that to the Trash.
If none of the above helps... quit Safari if it's open and locate this file.
com.apple.Safari.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file to the Desktop. Launch Safari. If it functions as it should, then that .plist file is corrupted. Go to Safari/Preferences from the Menu Bar and make note of your preference settings, then drag that .plist file to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
For Firefox...
From the Firefox Menu, click Tools/Clear Recent History and see if that helps.
If not, go to Firefox/Preferences. Select the Advanced tab, then select the Network tab. Click the "Clear Now" button.
If you haven't done so, try Open DNS Click the computer icon and follow the instructions.

• Networking problem after a zone is created and installed

Hi all,
I've got a networking problem after a zone was created and installed on a Solaris 10 box. The box was configured with two NICs, one (e1000g0) with a public IP address, the other one (e1000g1) with a private IP address and connected to a local switch. All worked fine so far.
Then I created a local zone with shared networking (e1000g1). The zone has a private IP address which is in the same subnet as e1000g1 on the global zone. After some time, I noticed that I could not access (ssh, ping) the global zone. Then after some time, the global zone became available. The problem happened quite frequently.
Also I observed that: 1) When the global zone was unavailable from outside, it was available (ssh, ping) from another box within the same subnet (e1000g0); 2) If I shutdown e1000g1, the problem was gone.
Any idea what caused this problem?
Many thanks,
Xiaobo

It was a route problem.

what cause searching network problem after updating iphone 6 from iOS 8.1.2 TO iOS 8.1.3?

SSince Apple does not support downgrading the iOS I suggest you start a new question that gives a good title to a specific problem. Then in the body of the thread describe the problem in detail, tell us what steps you have tried so far to correct the problem, what happened, and what error messages you received.

• Battery & network problems after upgrade to ios 5.1.1

The day I upgraded my iPhone 3g to iOS 5.1.1 It started to given me Battery and Network problem.
Battery Problem Details :
1. Battery life last for only 2 to 3hrs after being full charged (i.e. to 100%)
2. If i use the phone example try to use a App or browse a website in 1 min the battery life drops down by 20 to 30 %
Network Problem Details :
1. I keep lossing network connection
2. I have to go to setting and choose it manually each time. Keeping it on Auto doesn't work
Note when my phone was on iOS 5.0.1 it use to work without any of these issue
Please Help

My network problem has been resolved after i did a Reset (all Setting) but the battery life is still a problem.
I have read on other post that 5.1.1 has caused many user battery life issue. I have tried the resolution that people are saying resolved their issue i.e. to drain the battery and then charge it to 100% leaving in on Charge for more 1.5 hrs but this too did n't work for me.
I did a Restore and Reset and other trouble shooting step but none has help till now.
Hope Apple is listening.

• Iphone 4 network problems after 5.1.1 -

I'm wondering if others are having problems after updating to IOS 5.1.1. My Iphone 4 is constantly jumping from having 5 bars to 1, then saying it has no service for hours. I have gotten numerous messages saying MMS requires your phone number, after trying to enter my phone number it wouldn't save. A message saying that no calls can be made and the phone needs to be restored popped up, I restored the phone and the same problems still occur.

Restore it as a new device. Do NOT restore your backup. It's possible something there is corrupt and keeps coming back when you restore.
Set it up as new and test it out. See how it bahaves. If it's OK, re-install your apps (again, do not restore the backup, just re-install them) and sync your media over.
If it's not better after restoring it as a new phone, make an appointment at the genius bar.

• Network problems after update; system reinstall not fixing it.

Hello, first post here ^^
Sorry if I write with a bit of engrish. I'm very tired ^^"
My brother's laptop, a Portuguese Classmate PC (aka "Magalhães", version MG2 -- unfortunately, I can't find the corresponding international version, but have a picture) doesn't has any network at all, be it wired or wireless, with the updates of 3/August/2011 installed. I think the problem is udev.
I have no problems when using an installation media, at least for wired network.
Even after reinstalling, I still have no network.
Wired
The problem with wired, is that the eth0 interface is gone. Have tried network and NetworkManager, and it's just gone. In the output of ifconfig I only have the loopback interface (and would have wlan0, if I had the firmware for the wireless card installed).
Wired problem solved! Sorry, I actually searched the Internet for a solution and couldn't find anything useful, and only now noticed there's already a thread here about it. I should have searched this forum, instead of the Internet... sorry!
Wireless
Previously, I only had to install the rtl8192se chipset drivers from AUR.
But now, with the latest updates, the kernel (or the udev, I don't know which it is)was constantly giving me errors through tty, regarding to wifi. It could scan for networks, but not connect. I have tried with WPA and no security, result was the same.

• Network problem after new OSX update download

Greetings!
I've had a new (late 06) Intel 24" iMac networked wirelessly to my older iMac/cable modem/D-Link router very successfully since October. No problems and seamless set-up through the D-Link online wizard software.
Saturday I noticed an OSX upgrade to 10.4.8 (211mg) and went ahead and did the download on the wireless (Intel) iMac.
Upon restart, however, I have not been able to reconnect to my network. Airport is ON, but choosing my network name returns an error message. I have also attempted to reboot both cable modem and router, and reentered the D-Link wizard to both doublecheck the old network, and set up a new network, but saving these settings seems to fail by not recognizing the device, the router.
One of the error messages (on the wireless iMac) claims that my "settings have been changed by another application" (or to that effect) but does not give any clue as to how to determine what or where.
Also, since attempting to start from scrtch with the router, I no longer seem to get a full signal from the airport -- in Internet Connect, I no longer see a nice row of blue signal lights.
As you may be able to tell, I am new to networking, and the D-Link setup had helped make it simple -- tht is, I bumbled my way through it and was pleased with how well it worked. Now, after the OS update, not having the network is annoying -- and potentilly disastrous, as I need this machine online by Saturday.
Anyone able to give me a gentle hand, or nudge in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
Bill
PS- Mac user since 1991! Wireless network user since only late October!

Hi again,
Sorry, BDAqua, I didn't see your note. I don't quite understand the last line of your suggestion -- a number greater than the number of CPUs? Not sure what you mean...
Phil, thanks for your note, too.
I believe the answer to your first question is 802.11g -- this is what it was set to.
After trying again to connect, using my old passwords, I was able to see the blue signal strength barss, and the Airport icon flashed on and off a few times, but ultimately the connection attempt failed again every time I tried it.
At this point, I'm no longer confident that my router is sending out a recognizable signal -- is this possible?
Also, in the dialog box in which available networks are usually shown (which has not happened since my original connection in October), today I was faced with a choice I hadn't seen before: 2WIRE736 -- is this likely to be someone else's network (a neighbor's)? I was wondering -- I'd never seen that one before. However, my own network names do not show up for choosing, and when I use Internet Connect to request them (and add WPA Personal and passwords), the connection appears to fail immediately.
At this point, should I attempt an OSX reinstall? Or has something I described made some sense for you?
Again, still very appreciative of all your help and patience with my ignorance.
Bill

• Network Problem After Creating Database

Hi,
We install Oracle 11g on Windows 2008 server. Everything is working fine till the installation of Oracle software. After creating the database when we restart server the network cable shows a unplug for 20 miniutes.
If we disable all the Oracle service than everything goes fine.
Please Suggest.
Thanks and Regards
Sarfaraz Zomberkar

This is an interesting problem. Please provide a little more information.
* When you state Oracle 11g, exactly which release version: 11.1.0.6, 11.1.0.7, 11.2.0.1, or 11.2.0.2 - did you install the 32 bit Database software or the 64 bit Database software?
* Which options were selected during the installation, and did you tell the installer to create a database during the installation?
* Exactly which Windows 2008 server version: R1 or R2 - and is the operating system 32 bit or 64 bit?
* How much memory is in the Windows server?
* How many network cables are connected between the server and a network switch(es) - you will probably need to look at the back of the server to determine this answer?
* What are the exact names of the Oracle services that you had to shut down - most likely, the Startup Type of those services are set to "Automatic"
* Have the appropriate network person take a look at the log of errors on the network switch that is connected to the server - there is a chance that the network switch sensed a problem, such as excessive transmission errors, and shut down the network port to prevent a broadcast storm or a similar problem.
* Have the appropriate person check the Windows event logs. Do those logs identify the reason why the network port went down?

• Airport and network problems after recent update

I want to know if someone is aware of what went wrong with the latest OS updates, all my computers forget my local wireless connection and sometimes I'm connected to my co-workers unprotected red. Airport just won't do its job.
This issue is really frustrating since several applications like Flash for example give you and error when saving a file after reconnecting to your network after a network loss.
If someone knows how to work this around to stop this annoying behavior please advise, I'm sure I am not the only one experiencing this.
Regards

Dear Eyewake,
I have had the same problem recently, after QuickTime 7.1.1 upgrade. The only way I can now get wireless access is to leave the network unprotected at factory settings. At least one other person posting to this discussion list has this problem in the last week, but no replies.
Do you know where else we can try to get help?

• Z1 bluetooth and network problem after updating to 1.136

Hi,
Last week I updated my phone via PC companion when it notified me a new system update was available. The update took me from Android 4.2.2 to 4.3, and the biuld number is now 14.2.A.1.136.
I use my phone with a SmartWatch 2 all the time, and a SBH20 bluetooth headset in my car. Before the update everything worked fine, but now I have issues with bluetooth connectivity. My SmartWatch 2 randomly disconnects and reconnects to the phone, and so does the headset. In the watch, specifically the Whatsapp notification app by LIS software stopped getting notifications most of the time, although every once in a while it does. The SBH20 also randomly disconnects and sometimes it takes minutes to reconnect by itself. I already unpaired and paired again both devices, even reset the SmartWatch, and the problem persists.
But the most recurrent issue is that the phone repeatedly notifies me to "Sign in to network"... and has problems connecting to the 4G and even to wi-fi networks, meaning that sometimes I don't get any data at all for who knows how long, because it happens randomly.
One thing that seems to me is that every time i lose my bluetooth connections it's because (or at the same time) of whatever happens that triggers the "Sign in to network" notification.
I was really happy of having purchased the whole package of phone, watch and headset, please help me with this.
Leonardo

This is the responses I go from Sony "Customer DON'T Care....." regarding bluetooth issues -
"We can advise Sony Xperia do not test our products with other manufacturer’s devices and so we can not confirm the two devices are compatible.
As the handset has been updated this does indicate it is running different software which means the Bluetooth will have also been updated. Sadly, as Sony Xperia does not test our products with third party Bluetooth devices we will not have been able to foresee the change with your specific device.
We could only suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the device for any further assistance as there is nothing further we could advise.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
It is not that the software does not work it is the fact that we have updated the bluetooth drivers withing the update you have which no longer makes the bluetooth compatable with your car kit, if you ahve not contacted the car manufacturer already then I would suggest contacting them and seeing if there are any updates needed to the car kit."
Mmmmmm... so it seems that they DO NOT test any O/S upgrades against anything.....
It seems strange that both Samsung(S3 running 4.3)  and HTC M* (running 4.4.2) both work perfectly with my car audio system and the "developers" at Sony cant... either that or they just do not care... The smart money is on the latter... My z1 is THE WORST PHONE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF OWNING....

• Network problem after waking from sleep

I have a home network. All of the computers are Win XP except this Macbook. I have them all networked through a Workgroup which works just fine. The mac has no problems finding and connecting to the Windows computers but frequently after putting the Mac to sleep and then waking it up it no longer connects to the windows work stations unless I turn Airport off and then turn it back on..
It shouldnt be like this..any way of fixing it?

Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.

Hello
On this way it is not easy to give you some proper answer. Like Jasmin said it is very important that you use the same installation order like Toshiba. There is no difference between WXP Home and Pro. The other stuff that must be installed should be installed in right order.
In your case you want to make peer-to-peer connection. I hope that you know the procedure how to do this.
Bye

* In this application, we specify all communication via the command line. In
* a real application, we would expect that information about the other sites
* in the system would be maintained in some sort of configuration file. The
* critical part of this interface is that we assume at startup that we can
* find out
*      1) what our Berkeley DB home environment is,
*      2) what host/port we wish to listen on for connections; and
*      3) an optional list of other sites we should attempt to connect to.
* These pieces of information are expressed by the following flags.
* -h home (required; h stands for home directory)
* -l host:port (required; l stands for local)
* -C or -M (optional; start up as client or master)
* -r host:port (optional; r stands for remote; any number of these may be
*     specified)
* -R host:port (optional; R stands for remote peer; only one of these may
* be specified)
* -a all|quorum (optional; a stands for ack policy)
* -b (optional; b stands for bulk)
* -n nsites (optional; number of sites in replication group; defaults to 0
*     to try to dynamically compute nsites)
* -p priority (optional; defaults to 100)
* -v (optional; v stands for verbose)

• Wireless Network problems after running VZ Speed Optimizer

Good Day and thanks for reading!
This issue may sound improbable but, please hear me out. To begin my network has 2 Windows 7 x64 PCs connected to the modem/router via Ethernet, a wireless laptop, a wireless PS3, 2 android smart phones and a tablet running on Wifi. (usually not all at the same time)
Everything had been working properly until I recently did a clean (re)install of Windows on one of the PCs with a wired connection. After getting back to the desktop I did a couple required updates installed Norton 360 then downloaded and ran the Verizon Speed Optimizer (http://my.verizon.com/services/speedoptimizer/fios/).
This was the first time I'd ever ran the vz speed optimizer, I only did it on a whim.. I figured it couldn't hurt. The program only took a second to complete and everything seemed normal at first; internet speeds seemed as fast as normal.
It wasn't until next day I noticed all the wireless devices in the house started having connectivity issues whenever that PC was running; even at idle. The PS3 would drop the PSN connection regularly and take forever to reconnect, the tablet and phones download speeds were unusable and also intermittent.  I could shut down that PC, restart the tablet/PS3/etc and have them working normally.
After a little research I ended up re-running the optimizer program and at the end clicked 'undo settings to defaults' hoping that would resolve the issue.  Afterwards I unplugged the modem for 60 seconds hoping a reset would put everything back to normal but it hasn't..  When that PC is running, everything else on the network has constant connectivity issues.
Is it possible the speed optimizer program did something to the wireless settings of the modem, or somehow gave that one Windows PC dominance over the network? I was under the impression the optimizer would change a couple local settings on that machine. I can't think of a reason why it would effect the entire network, (most evident on  the wireless devices).
Any ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I promised I would post a solution to this if found so..
As I set up my wireless laptop next to the wired PC in preparation to call Verizon tech support, I remembered a handy app I had on my phone.. Wifi Analyzer.
I checked the range of wireless signals the the app picked up and low-and-behold, there were two new wifi signals of decent strength operating in the same channel (1) that I was set up in!  (I hadn't checked this since I first set up my router over a year ago and the apartment building next door is always getting new people)
This was totally unacceptable!  The app showed that channel 11 had only a single, very weak signal in the area and recommended I switch to that.  After logging into the router and doing so, it was as if all the wireless tech in my house was instantly given new life!
I could once again be downloading a game from Steam on a wired PC, steaming netflix on the wireless PS3, watching a YouTube video on my phone, all while the wireless laptop was downloading (way too many) windows updates.
Solution:  Regularly monitor the amount of congestion in the channel your wireless is operating in. This is especially important if your reside in or near a rental/leasing property that often has people moving in and out.
Changing the wifi channel on your router is easy, fast and not scary at all. It could save you a lot of headaches.
