Networks and activities attached to statistical WBS

Hi,
I have a statistical WBS which is attached to networks, and activities. It looks like in standard SAP, the networks and activities cannot be made statistical. So the networks and activities carries actual cost (after posting). Is there a way in SAP to make this actual cost in network and activity as statistical? Or do you think that we need to settle the cost somewhere?

As I stated before, I also know that networks, and activities cannot be statistical. My question is what would be the solution in this case? Anyway, we've decided to make all objects as statistical WBS elements to resolve the issue. Closing the thread.

CJ20n - No authorization to display network and activities

Hi Gurus,
I am facing an authorization issue with network and activities.
When a network was called in transaction in CN23, it looks okay and displayed network and activities accurately.
When I opened the PROJECT in CJ20N and expand it to reach that network and activity. There network and activities are apprearing in RED, means I am not authorized to view them. Where as when I opened the WBS element in CJ20n to which Network and activites are linked, there again I found everything looks Okay.
So the problem only occurs when I am trying to expand project structure through project definition. In this case all networks and activities with in the project are appearing in Red color(no authorization).
Does anyone has ever come across this situation? Please share your thoughts ?

This eror is related to ACL in network profile.
Please check that "No ACL" is selected in network profile configuration. If yes, you can execute transaction CNACLD- Delete Access Control List entry to see if any user id is set up for ACL for the project or network. If so, select all and delete them.
It should work with this solution.

Tables for PS Networks and Activities ?

Hi all
I'm working in some development for create a PS report for Projects. I investigated the structure is   Project-WBS-Network-Activity
I know the table for Project is PROJ and the table for WBS is PRPS, but i don't know what tables are used for Networks and Activities.
Does somebody know these tables ?

I was checking the tables AFKO and AFVC, but i did not found some fields,
1. Field APLZL does not exists in table AFKO, there is only a field APLZT. So, how can go from AFKO to AFVC ??
2. Field SUMNE does not exists in table AFVC, there is only the field SUMNR, so how can i find if some record
is Network or Activity ??
3. About table AFKO, i search with field PRONR = Project;
   but how can i link the Networks(Orders) with their
   corresponding WBS ???

Restriction of time posting within CATS and PS networks and activities

Hello to you all,
Prior to post this message, I've tried to check if there was any existing topic which could help, so sorry if this was the case...
I'd like to know if there was any possibility within SAP standard functions to restrict possibilities of time posting within CATS on PS networks and activities.
Actually I'd like to know if it could be possible that a user can only post times on Networks / Activites which he has been given authorizations?
Is there anything existing within the customizing or maybe authorization objects which can be managed, or nothing in standard SAP and so a specific development would be required?

I am not that expert on PS, but from CATS point of view you can validate the Time sheet with CATS0003 or CATS0006
You could do something like:
CLEAR i_messages.
LOOP AT CHECK_TABLE
IF CHECKTABLE-<Field you want to validate>.
      i_messages-msgty    = 'E'.
      i_messages-msgid    = <>
      i_messages-msgno    = <>
      i_messages-pernr    = check_table-pernr.

Usage of Version 0 in Networks and activities.

Currently we are using plan version 0 in CO for our approved plans. Once the planning cycle is completed, we then lock this version. If we want to implement networks and activies, does it have to be only version 0 that can be used for this. If so why ?
If not, where do you configure the other version for this purpose.

Version 0 has to be activated anyway, as it also serves for actual postings. However, the planning could be done on other versions, if you prefer to activate them.

Assigning hours directly to a WBS without Network and activities

I am setting up a Capital project without the use of activities and Networks. Thus confirmation will be assigned to WBS.
Can hours confirmations form CATS be assigned directly to the WBS without the use of Activities?
As I understand you need to set up the Data entry profiles

Hi Johnny,
Yes, set up a data entry profile which accepts the WBSE as receiver, create a simple HR personnel number & start your postings. It is this simple.
You can test the same in your dev system. use CAT2 / CATS_APPR_LITE / CATA Tcodes.
Find the actuals on WBSE in standard reports.

Statistical WBS and Network

Dear All,
We have budget control activated on cost centers via the use of PSM. We now want to use Project System module to execute a project for which cost will be charged onto a cost center. An option already investigated is that of using statistical WBS, which provides two advantages:
1) No hassle of periodic settlement to cost center as cost is updated simultaneously.
2) Budget control remains in-tact because any cost posted (statistically, i.e. type '11') on a wbs will be posted (actually, i.e. type '4') on the cost center for which budget would be checked.
My problem arises when we try to use networks. It is my understanding that network orders cannot be made statistical and therefore any cost posted to them (either direct journal entry or via PO, GR/IR) is done actually (i.e. type '4') and not statistically. No actual entry is posted on the cost center, and I have to manually run the settlement on the network. This settlement process than automatically posts the cost to wbs which eventually goes as actual cost to the cost center. However this case has two major problems:
1) Increased overhead of periodic settlement for the network
2) No budget control as cost posted on the network can exceed budget available on the cost center (the budget error would only arise when settling the network).
My prime objective is for the budget control to remain in-tact for which i need an option of automatic cost posting from the network to the cost center as soon as it is posted (something possible for statistical wbs).
Any help in this regards would be highly appreciated.

Display Columns from WBS and Activities in the same Report

Does anyone know how to display Columns from a WBS and an Activity together so that they can be output to Excel?
I need WBS Code, Actual Start, Actual Finish and Performance % Complete from the WBS and Activity Codes from Activities.
I can produce them in a report but this gives me all the activities in a heirarchical format which then necessitates deleting the activity lines in Excel
The Performance % complete which I want is available in Activities at the Summary Level but the Activity Codes are not at this level
I could put the Activity Codes in as Project Codes at the WBS level but this will require a lot of maintenance
Maybe someone knows an easy way to do this?

Your request interested me so I gave it the old college try. There are several ways to go about this task but here's one that is fairly quick and easy.
I carefully read your description of what you need from P6. I've built a test layout using the fields that you outlined. Here's what I came up with. This should bypass the issue of having to create a P6 export. My solution is to build a customized layout in P6 and copy that info and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet.+
Open P6
Open neccessary projects & open a new layout containing these columns:
....Project, WBS,Activity ID, Activity Name, Perf. %, & (any codes or user defined codes)
Group & Sort by: Project, WBS
....*Display Options* = "Show Group Totals" & "Show Summaries Only", Choose "OK"
....*Edit*, Select, All, Copy
Open Excel
....Paste Highlighted data into your new worksheet.
Hope this helps but it's usually hard to understand exactly what you need unless I can view your data,

Different user status profile for network header and activities

Hi everyone!
Is there any way to define different user status profile at network header level and at network activity level? As far as I know, it is only possible to enter a user profile at network type level, and both netwok headers and activities use the same statuses. Does it work this way?

I've gone through the OPSC, but the thing is that here you define a user status profile at network plant level. But I need to define it at network activity level.
The reason why I need this is because we have types of activities. We use network activities for client activities, for internal activities, to identify and follow-up risk management, etc. Each group of activities -since they have different usages- has different user status associated. But as I don't have any way to assign different user status profiles, all the activities have the same statuses, although they will only use some of them.

PS Issue Business Area and Profit Center - differing in WBS to Network

my team has used COPY NETWORK option and copied a network under WBS in Project Builder (CJ20N), It has observed that org elements of WBS and Network, Acticity are differing.
Now there are thounds of records of the same, (Org Elements differing in WBS to Network).
Can you sugest me is there any option to resolve the issue and settlement can be made correctly

Hi
Once actual postings are made on object (like network or WBS element) you cannot change CO elements (profit center, business area). Those will be disabled. However if no postings happen then you can edit those data.
If postings already happened and you are not able to change the fields, you can create new network and activity under same WBS element and can transfer the cost (line item wise) through FI (I belive F-02 or FB50 transactions). Please check with your FI counter part once.

PS-Relationship between the system status in wbs elements and activities.

Relationship between the system status in wbs elements and activities.
We have the following requeriment with the system status in PS. We have a project with complete technically status and we want to undo the complete technically status in one activity without changing the complete technically status in the WBS element or the project.
The reason is that after putting the complete technically status, users have to change the values in the P.O. We don´t want "open" all the project and we only need to "open" the activity where the P.O. are in.
Is that possible? How is connected the system status between activities, wbs elements and the project son I can change the status in the below step without changing the higher steps?

Yes, you have put it rather correctly.
We use WBS elements for booking and posting time (client requirement). So what I am looking for is WBS Elements with the system status TERL (Time and Expense Released).
I talked of the deletion flag also, because a WBS element flagged for deletion can't be used. It's one of the criteria to screen the WBS elements.

Statistical wbs and assets

I am aware that statistical wbs do not settle. However, someone told me that it is possible for a statistical wbs to direct post to an asset. I believe they said the asset number was part of the wbs number. But I don't remember all of the specifics. Is anyone familiar with this?

Statistical WBS elements-Budgeting and Use

Hi Guys,
Need some KT from you all regarding Statistical WBS Elements.My queries are
1.Can a statistical WBS element be budgeted? If yes how are the Budget distributed to those below.
2..If a level 2 WBS is marked statistical and it has 3 WBS under it which are Acc asignment element then how is the budget distributed.
3.can you provide some good example of the use of Statistical WBS element?

Hi Shourya,
1. As mentioned above Statistical WBS can be budgeted like any operative project and the budget can further be divided into lower level WBS elements and Availaility Control can be activated on these.
2. Again as stated above the budget distribution is normal. For ex- If a level 2 WBS is statistical and level 2's underneath that are real WBS.
3. We can use the Statistical WBS for capital projects. For ex- We can assign a Statistical WBS in Master record of AUC for Availability control of budget for Capital spending. And then when we create a PO with Account Assignment category A with same AUC, budget control (Availability control) is activated through the statistical WBS.
Someone might ask but why we want to use WBS for budget control why not I/O? It's because it provides more visibility over different departments (divided by structure). And via this process we can see all our PO's on AUC directly from Asset Explorer (AW01N).

Change screen field network and upload additional wbs network activity

Dear All,
1st. How can i change the screen field company code in network header (assignment tab) to input or required. I tried OPUA but it doesnt show company code. In default it shows that network header (company code) in display mode.
2nd. How can i add additional WBS,network and activity using additional enhancement for easy use method. Or in other word, is there any enhancement program..not cj20n / cj20?
