Networks aren't recognized

I've always been able to get wireless in my room, but since yesterday I haven't been able to get any wireless in there whatsoever. It's not even just my wireless network that goes out. Now when I head from the living room into my room, which is just a few feet away, all of the wireless networks go out, including the ones from floors above. Anyone know why this is happening?

Actually now I think that might be a router problem. I think it was the router getting ready to freak out. I've had this problem before but I have no idea how I rectified it. I can access internet through the modem but not through the router. When the router is connected it looks like this:

The orange light is flashing, which is what tells me there's something wrong with it and it's not just me. It's supposed to be solid green. I tried unplugging it, resetting it, all that stuff, but I don't know what's wrong with it.

USB drives aren't recognized in Windows after Yosemite update.

On my Windows partition, my flash drives aren't recognized anymore. I've tried installing the Windows Support Software. That doesn't seem to do it.

1. Your hardware seems to be functional since OSX can see USBs.
2. Do you have iTunes installed on the Windows side?
3. Can you remove all Apple software and just install the Bootcamp drivers, nothing else and test?
4. This is what I see on my Yosemite DP6 (not GA version) and have a USB2 plugged in which is detected.

DVD Recordable Disc Aren't Recognized - HELP

HELP! As the title suggests DVD Recordable Disc aren't recognized by my PowerBook.
Music CDs - Work
DVDs (R2 and R1) - Work
CD-R - Work
CD-RW - Work
But.. DVD+(or)-R won't work.
The disc spins in the drive as if reading, then spins again. But nothing appears in the desktop. It doesn't ejects, it just stops spinning in the drive.
I've backed up TV downloaded from iTunes, but accidentally done something to the file which caused it play without sound.

Yeah, sorry it does it have a superdrive, i should have mentioned that in the first post.
Blank DVDs are recognised. I just don't understand why these one won't.
I know they were working fine before the new year, as i wiped my computer, and then added all the back-up.

Acpi events aren't recognized at startup

Hi forum!
Since 3 weeks my acpi events aren't recognized anymore after startup, no apci_listen and no event-handler-output. I've got to manually type "systemctl restart acpid" to get them working again. What could be the problem? Journallog: http://pastebin.com/5f03T2wh

We might have the same issue, though restarting acpid doesn't change anything for me. I've tried different kernels and tried to find out if any package was updated when it started happening, but couldn't find anything. I've opened a bug report for the kernel here:

That bug has the following effects on my computer:
- Backlight keys not working
- Wireless key not working
- Doesn't detect the change when plugging out the battery cord, KDE/upower can't see that the computer is on battery
- CPU frequency isn't lowered automatically anymore when my PC gets too hot, and it just shuts down due to overheating

My daughters iPod touch won't sync, says apps aren't recognized, nothing syncs though

iPod touch won't sync at all. Only message is that some apps aren't recognized. If I reset, will it sync? Or will she have a blank iPod because the "apps aren't recognized"?

Use the communities search box in the upper right of this page and searc for: "the apps can't be determined". Use the quote makes and make sure the wording matches what the error message says.
You will then find the previous discussions with the same error. I do not remember the solution.

Installing network printer and downloaded print drivers aren't recognized.

I downloaded drivers for the Canon ImagePRESS C1 and they seem to install just fine. However, when I install the network printer the driver is not listed anywhere. Even when I choose "Other" and point to the device folder the files are greyed out, and I can't select the driver. I've tried updates and resetting the print system an still no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are three printer options (at least here in Oz there is) available for the imagePRESS C1. There is the internal Canon printer board and two external print controllers - the imagePASS-T1 and the imagePRESS-Q1, which is what we have connected to our C1. Each of these print controllers have different drivers so you need to determine which one you have first. If you are not sure, then check with someone or have a look at the C1. If it has a white metal box hanging on the back of the copier with some network cables, then you have the T1. If there is a PC case connected to the copier then you have the Q1. If the network cable connects from the wall straight to a network card on the back left side of the machine, then you have the internal Canon board.
For the two imagePASS controllers, you can download the driver from the print controller, by opening its internal web page (type the copiers IP address into your web browser to access). These queues for these drivers are added via IP > HP Jetdirect-Socket and you should find the driver by searching for either T1 or C1 in the Print using menu.
If you have the Canon board, then how you create the printer queue depends on which driver you have downloaded. Could you tell me the driver name and version so I can explain the method of adding the printer queue.

I have home sharing on two computers (both have lost tab on iTunes) and they both are recognized. Why aren't files etc. visable?

I have the same problem, except i use a linksys router instead of an airport. My G5 and Imac can no longer see each other on the wireless network. Internet works fine. I have posted this problem before and most suggestions have been like "you have to turn on file sharing". well DUH. I wonder if one of the recent updates has caused this?

Photosmart 7520 on wireless network no longer recognized by laptop

The printer was fully functional on my wireless network, accessible by phone, tablet & laptop. Now it is not recognized by the laptop but still usable by other devices through the wireless network. The laptop is Windows 7 professional. The laptop and printer are both on the same (only) wireless network. I uninstalled the printer and driver from the laptop, temporarily disabled Norton Antivirus, then tried to install a new driver but installation failed. I repeated the entire process again, with the same results. What else should I try?

I noticed that your HP Photosmart 7520 that is on a wireless network, is no longer recognized by your laptop. I am sorry to hear about this, but I am happy to help!

MSI X99S GAMING 7 - slow booting; HDD aren´t recognized in BIOS

My rig:
- i7 5930k
- X99S Gaming 7 (BIOS h90)
- PALIT GTX 980 Super Jetstream
- OCZ revodrive 3 x2 240 GByte (System disk)
- Corsair Force 3 120 GByte (game disk)
- 2x SAMSUNG HD501LJ 500 GByte (SATA 3GB/s)
- 1 LG Electronics BH16NS40
- 16 GByte Corsair Vengeance LPX schwarz DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-2666, CL15-17-17-35 (CMK16GX4M4A2666C15)
- 1000W power supply
- ANTEC P193 case
- G19 Keyboard
- MX518 Mouse.
I assembled it yesterday and during the first booting sequence it restarted 3 times.
After that it took 5 minutes to be on the Windows Desktop. Furthermore I recognized that all the HDDs and the optical drive weren´t available.
I tried to activate them in the Windows System - with no result. Than I checked the BIOS, they weren´t present there.
At the end i checked the HDDs only with the power supply, they booted. As soon as I connect them with the SATA cable they stand still - no spin up hear-able.
Now The BluRay and the HDDs are disconnected, the booting sequence is a Little bit faster (still 3 minutes).
In the BIOS I only activated the XMP-Profile für the RAM and I changed the booting sequence for the REVODRIVE.
May someone has any hint for me, how to deal with this Problem - but as I stated at the very beginning: it sounds similar to me.

Your third try you got the Revodrive, corsair, and optical running? Meaning that you could boot multiple times and have it all work correctly?
I hate saying it, but if you aren't going to be descriptive, we aren't going to be very much help.
For what it's worth, I'm starting to think that the Revodrive and the motherboard do not work well together.
Personally, I would also consider contacting MSI directly about the issue. They might be able to issue a new BIOS that improves compatibility.

Help with new Airport Extreme (and network name) not recognizing Time Capsule and other Airports in the home

I had a Time Capsule running in an AV Cabinet and it made too much noise as it backed up and ruined soft/quiet music passages (and created far too much warmth as well). So, I visited the local Apple store and the guy I met worked through a few solutions with me. I decided on an Airport Extreme for the audio cabinet, and would move the Time Capsule to another room where it would not create noise interference.
So, I have the Airport up and running perfectly well. I changed my wireless network name and password.
I cannot get the Airport Express and Time Capsule to show up on my network. They both just blink that brown/orange color on the front. When I go to the Airport Utility, it does not pick up the Time Capsule or Airport Express. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in and scanning for devices, but dont know what else to do. Are they still looking for my old network? Is there a way to reset them??

I've tried the option key on both--the AEBS offers 14 options, including Automatic, while the TC offers 8 options, and no Automatic. The AEBS lists (among others) 802.11 a/n-b/g compatible, 802.11 a-b/g compatible, or 802.11 n (5 GHz)-b/g compatible. The TC offers 802.11.n (b/g compatible), 802.11n only (2.4 GHz), and 802.11n only (5 GHz), among others...
I had already followed the instructions in the link you supplied, except that the wireless options don't quite match...
I am currently trying 802.11n (5GHz)-b/g compatible on the AEBS and 802.11 (5GHz) on the TC, which gives me a rate of 270 on my n devices and 54 on my g devices, according to the Airport Utility.
This might be the best I can do, without buying a new TC. Thanks for any advice you can give...

My home wi-fi network no longer recognized by Iphone 4

Ever since I got my iPhone 4, it has worked fine with my home wi-fi network which is hosted on an Airport Extreme. Today it started dropping the network and now won't find it at all, or any of the other networks close by me. My iPad, MacBook and a PC laptop all find the network with no problem.
When I take the iPhone to other wi-fi connections nearby, it finds them and connects just fine.
I have turned the phone on & off several times, reset 'Network Settings' several times, turned the Airport Extreme off & on, all to no avail. I haven't added any new wireless phones or other electrical equipment to the house. I haven't tried a complete reset and restore of he phone as yet.
Could another router or electrical equipment nearby be causing a problem?

Anyway, the issue isn't 'ravin' - they're back on line and no problem. I'm on channel 11 and no problem since yesterday morning. This did happen once before, some time ago, but it affected my whole wf-fi system, not just the iPhones. Again, it lasted about a day and then mysteriously disappeared. I do live in an area where construction is going on; maybe a piece of equipment is occasionally used which causes interference???
Probably one of those mysteries that will never be solved!

My old Audio Files on my iPhone 3G aren't recognized by the newest version of iTunes

I just recently upgraded iTunes to the latest version (10 if I'm not mistaken.) My iPhone 3G's phone service has been discontinued, but I still use it as an iPod. My audio files come from all over the place. Some from Limewire, and some I have bought from iTunes. I use iTunes on my Acer laptop, but my old desktop was what I used Limewire on. I backed up all my audio files to iTunes, and the only files it recognized was the files I bought from iTunes (I used the iTunes app to buy all of these.) For some reason, i recognizes all my files on the "On This iPhone" section, but I can't seem to find a way to back anything up from there. Is there any way to get these files backed up onto iTunes on my laptop?

CR2 files aren't recognized by CS3.

Shooting with a Canon 5dMarkii. Windows 7; Photoshop CS3. When I try to open RAW (CR2) files, I get a message that the file type can't be recognized. I've not had this problem before. My "updates" says that everything is current. Help?

Your camera is newer than the last available update to PS-CS3, so you either need to buy CS6, sign up for PS-CC or use the free DNG Converter to make DNGs out of your CR2s that can be opened in your ancient Camera Raw plug-in for CS3. Another path which requires more of a workflow change would be to purchase Lightroom 5, and use Edit in Photoshop CS3 with LR Adjustments when you need to do final edits in Photoshop. The newer toning options available in LR5/CS6/CC are better than those in Camera Raw 4.x in CS3 so it’s worth the upgrade if you can. Be sure to do a trial to make sure your computer can handle the newer software.
