NEVER delete your "originals" folder and ALWAYS back up--now I need advice!

Don't even ask. Well, actually, I'll just quickly explain. I was following some directions in a recent-ish copy of MacAddict magazine, and I might have deleted some of what is in iphoto's "Originals" folder. I was trying to delete original photos (unturned-around, un-edited etc.) and it turns out that the structure of the 5.0 iphoto library is slightly different from 6.0 library. I started opening photos in my library and getting the grey question-mark screen and freaked out.
Okay. So this is by far the silliest, most stupid thing I ever did. Don't even give me grief, I feel dumb enough as it is.
BUT I do back everything up regularly (I even keep 2 copies of my hard drive backed up every week)! However, I only recently upgraded to 6.0. My most recent back up was useless (it was last night, deleted photos were already gone) but the one from last week is perfect!! I have my entire iphoto folder, pre-deletion, but also pre-6.0 update. So it is all iphoto 5 file structure.
How do I import that old library into iphoto 6.0? Without wiping my whole iphoto database out entirely (I loaded a few hundred photos from my camera onto iphoto today). I don't want to screw this up, so I want to be very careful about how I go about this.

Do you want to just resurrect your library from last week as your primary library? If so, move to your Pictures library and launch iPhoto. It will open and convert it over to the V6 format. That's all you need to do.
However, if you have pictures in your current library that you don't have in the older backup, then you can do the following:
1 - open you current library and assemble the new photos that are not in the backup into a new roll or album, either will do.
2 - quit iPhoto and rename the current library to anything other than "iPhoto Library".
3 - copy your week old library folder into your Pictures library.
4 - launch iPhoto. It will open the newly arrived backup library and update it to V6.
5 - quit iPhoto.
6 - download and run iPhoto Library Manager, selecting the two libraries you have.
7 - click on the renamed library and select the rolls or albums that are displayed that represent the photos that are not in the week old library (the one named "iPhoto Library".
8 - drag those items onto the other library's icon to copy those files, complete with keywords, etc. into it.
The free version of iPLM will only copy 20 photos at a time so if you have lots more you'll need to get the paid version.
Once the transfer is complete launch iPhoto and check out your primary library. If all is well and there you can delete the renamed library folder. Good luck.
