Never ending automatic repair loop

I'm working on a client's HP ENVY TouchSmart 4-1215dx Ultrabook that is stuck in a never-ending automatic repair loop. I have done a system diag...all passed . Tried multiple ways to get into BIOS to do a repair from a USB stick made from another OS 8....but can't get into BIOS to change the boot. Tried F11 to do factoy resest....just puts me back into the loop.  I have a feeling my client downloaded a bad 8.1. Considering pulling the HDD and using my desktop to at least try and save her personal data....Please help!

That would be the best thing to first do and then use the recovery media of which you will now have to order since the O/S seems corrupted beyond repairs. This way you can be sure the recovery media will restore it back to factory install and hopefully they will not do this again til they will consult first before upgrading the O/S.

  • Yoga 2 Pro Windows 8.1 stuck in automatic repair loop

So my Yoga 2 Pro is stuck in the (in)famous Windows 8 Automatic Repair Loop, and I'm not sue how to fix it now. I unfortunately neglected to create a Recovery USB stick, so what are my options without it?
I've already tried booting the computer with the Novo button and choosing System Recovery, but at that point the system goes right back into the Automatic Repair loop. I'd strongly prefer to back up my data before resintalling Windows if that's an option--is it possible to stick the SSD into another computer to do so?
Also, would a USB recovery disc created by someone else with a Y2P be useable on my system? I don't need the full partition image since the one already on mine should suffice. I'm also unsure of my system's Windows 8 Product Key, where can I get that if/when I do need to reinstall Windows?
Thanks for any help, it's greatly appreciated.

    First and foremost, good luck:
    Method 1:
Wait for the machine to boot into the 'Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC' error message.
    Click the 'Advanced Options' button
    Open cmd and type:
    bootrec /fixMBR
    bootrec /Fixboot
    bootrec /rebuildBCD
    and also
    chkdsk /r c:
    chkdsk /r d:
    Method 2:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNKEsOF7e4M
Method 3 (copied from a youtube comment):
    1. Turn on the computer.
    2.  Wait for the machine to boot into the 'Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC' error message.
    3.  Click the 'Advanced Options' button
    4.  Click the 'Troubleshoot' button
    5.  Click the 'Advanced options' button
    6.  Click the 'Startup Settings' button
    7.  Wait for the system to reboot into the 'Startup Settings' menu (is the same menu for safe mode)
    8.  Select the 'Disable early launch anti-malware protection' option. (Press '8')
    9.  If this worked for you, you should now boot into windows.
    10. Now you can shutdown your system and it should hopefully work first time the next time you start the system.

  • Lenovo G780 stuck in Automatic Repair Loop after Windows 8 update

My recent Windows 8 update stuck my computer into an infinite automatic repair loop which results in a blue screen amd the process repeats itself. I tried the OneKey restore feature and the system recovery feature just hangs then it goes back to the same loop issue with rebooting. I called Lenovo for recovery discs since I don't have any any but my concern is does it matter if I mentioned whether I had a 32 or 64 bit OS? I told her to make sure it was for a Windows 8 system amd she just said it works for the G780 models. I'm just hoping these discs work.for a 64 bit system

It should work. Support cannot send you recovery disks if you didn't provide them your serial number. They can check the correct pre-installed OS from your serial number so I'm sure they're sending out the correct disks.

  • Server 2012 R2 Essentials stuck in Automatic repair loop on every reboot

We are running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials on a brand new Dell PowerEdge T110. Nothing new has been installed or are we running any special software. This server is a doing DHCP, Domain Controller and DNS. It is also intergrating the Office365.
I am assuming a windows update did this but i cannot pinpoint when exactly this happened and which update since it was a couple months ago. But everytime we try to reboot this server it goes to that Windows 2012 repair screen and asks us if we want to troubleshoot.
I am able to break this loop by going into safe more and then rebooting but this doesnt fix it, it only allows us to then boot windows normally once after that. But this can only be done when we are onsite and not remotely so we havent rebooted this server
or ran new windows updates in quite some time.
Any help or input would be appreciated.
    Thank You

  • Hp 2000 preparing automatic repair loop

I recently purchased the notebook and do not have a windows 8 disk and cannot do anything from the InsydeH20 setup utility version F.37.  How can i get it to boot up?

I see that you are stuck in an automatic repair loop. From all my research it appears that you do need either an installation disc or a recovery disc. If you can get into into safe mode then you can try this Microsoft Answers link but with it being Windows 8 you need to get to the OS to trigger safe mode

  • Automatic Repair Loop

When I turn my computer on, the Automatic Repair screen comes up. I have tried almost all of the Advanced Options and nothing has worked. I DO NOT want my data deleted! I have hundreds of photos that are not backed up anywhere else. I also cannot find my disc that came with the computer (which could be used for recovery I'm assuming). Can I somehow fix this on my own or will I need to take it to a professional?
Not very happy with this, looks like it has been a problem for a lot of customers.

The latest critical update from Microsoft (7/20/2015) seems to have created this automatic repair loop. Widows 8 came installed - I upgraded to 8.1. The only suggestion provided by HP that I have not tried is to get Windows disks and try to boot the computer from them and use the system repair tool. How successful is this? How do I get the appropriate software?

  • HP Pavillion TS Laptop stuck in "preparing automatic repair" loop.

My HP laptop has run perfectly up until now.
When I turn the device on, it tells me that it's "preparing automatic repair" and it stays there, I've waited for hours on end but it doesn't seem to really be doing anything. All the f# keys work perfectly except f11, the one I need to use to attempt to restore the OS to a date when it actually worked. While it'd be neat if all my data could be recovered, it's not required. Thanks for helping.

  • Satellite C850 stuck in automatic repair loop

    Hey Everyone,
So I have a issue that really causng me problems.
Many times, my laptop goes to the blue screen of death and restarts.
This time, it randomly said "your PC did not start correctly" shut down and went directly to automatic repair.
Now, Im not able to get it to start properly. It keeps restarting and every time it goes to options such as doing system recovery, start-up repair, start-up setting, restarting etc. it just keeps looping with no way out. The problem is, my laptop is telling me I don't have an administrator account on it so I am unable to do any of the advanced options.
I really need to get my computer to work because I have files on it  that I need. recovering those files is my number 1 priority.
Please, help. I would realy appreciate it.
    Thanks

Ok so in the first picture
it shows what happens when i click system restore. What its displaying there is, i have no administrator account. So at the bottom it displays "Forgot your password or dont see your account?" I click on that to see if i can find my account,  instead it tell me to restart (as you can see in the second picture)
which just loops and brings me back to the beginning.
     In the third picture
it shows what happens when i click Command Prompt. What its displaying there is, i have no administrator account. So at the bottom it displays "Forgot your password or dont see your account?" I click on that to see if i can find my account,  instead it tell me to restart (as you can see in the fourth picture)
which just loops and brings me back to the beginning. So both System restore and command prompt just loop after being clicked.
Then there is Start-up Setting. Here when i click it, it displays the options shown in picture 5.
Then after clicking any of the f1 threw f10 options it restarts and goes back to the beginning.
Any more questions feel free to ask. If you still dont understand i shall try to make a video.

  • Bsod after bios update 1.4 - 1.5 + Windows automatic repair loops

After i updated my bios with liveupdate5 my computer started acting up with endless automatic repairs for w8.1 and random bsods for w7. Changing bios settings and restoring defaults does not solve the issue :-/
Is it possible to revert back to the 1.4 somehow?

Quote from: RemusM on 07-March-14, 21:50:06
v1.5 was released 3 months ago.
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H87MG43.html#/?div=BIOS
Did you clear the CMOS (and reload the default settings) after the BIOS update?
hm true, weird how they just now was displayed in the live update. No, I havent done any type of manual cmos clearing, but it would seem that the live update takes care of that as far as the instructions goes.
Patching back to 1.4 without any light in the tunnel. The computer still does no longer boot futher than the windowslogo before bsod. Reinstalling windows does not help :-/

  • Windows 8.1 update attempt bricked the machine in bootloop and now automatic repair loop

Hi, I attempted the windows 8.1 update w. failure.
    =============1st part============
the machine is stuck in bootloop initially, searched the forum and tried several things like the "recovery" options and making a install USB drive to do repairs.  Nothing worked.
Even use the bcdedit commands and other /fixmbr stuff.
I have a Dell Inspiron 14z w. Intel Storage Technology.  So I even went into the BIOS to disable it to use Legacy stuff w. disable Intel Storage Techology.
Any common sense workable help would be appreciated.
    =============2nd part============
I was able to get into the System Restore option, selected a restore point but failure again when the C: drive selection stated "You must enable system protection on this drive" and can't proceed.

    Hi,
About this problem, it seems like there is not any method can fix it, Windows encounter problem during Windows upgrade first boot, Windows 8.1 already installed but new system configuration failed. This is problem why you use install USB drive to repair
    but failed.
In my opinion, it's hard to fix it, the worst result is you may need to reinstall you system. While here is some methods you still can have a try.
    1. Boot into System repair mode as you said. find Command Prompt option.
    2. Open Command Prompt mode, type Bootrec.exe and press
    Enter.
    3. Try to use the command below to fix system.
    bootrec /FixBoot
    bootrec /ScanOs
    bootrec /RebuildBcd

  • ISync and the never ending dashboard widget loop

Ok, I'm only trying to iSync two macs... I have all the same widgets on both...
I will delete a widget from Mac number one, I get an iSync notification on Mac number two, that one widget is to be removed...
    Great huh?
Now back to the first mac. I get a notification that iSync wants to add a widget (surprise it is the same widget I deleted)...
On to mac 2... Now I get a notification that iSync wants to add a widget (surprise again it is the same widget)...
So if I have iSync enabled I cannot delete a widget. They just keep coming back...
I've already had to give iSync a database enema to make the contacts and calendar sync again (they had just stopped one day for some unknown reason). Now I have to figure out how the heck to delete a widget and make it stay deleted.
Anybody had a similar issue? Ideas anyone?

You're unlikely to get an answer in here. Your issue is not related to iSync - it's related to *.Mac Sync*, and the correct forum for that is here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=957
(iSync is for syncing Contacts and Calendars to supported mobile phones and PDAs - it does not sync computers or to .Mac).

  • Never Ending Authorize loop

I'm now running into the never ending authorization loop.
I've found the KB Article and have followed all of the steps, but am still not able to get passed it.
I am noticing however that there are some discrepancies, even when I attempt to login to this site.
My Apple ID doesn't follow an e-mail address format [email protected] When I go to authorize however, by default, the system puts in the @xxx.com extension. I remove it and the system tells me that the computer is already authorized.
    I'm using Windows7 x64 with iTunes 9.0.2.25 and a 3rd Generation Nano.
I've sent an e-mail in to Apple for guidance, but am looking for any other ideas.

Here is some additional information that I find questionable / lead me to believe that this is a bug in the system.
As I continue to look through the list of files that are "Not Authorized" I find that some of them are files, I didn't purchase through the iTunes store, but rather music that was imported via a CD from my collection.
    What's going on Apple?!?!
