Never ending import session?

I am trying to import 2746 items from my iPhone 5 to my Aperture 3.5.1 library. When I import direct via Aperture, it eventually shows all 2746 items in the new project but the spinning "importing" wheel at the bottom never stops and thus, the application can't shut down and I can't restart the Mac Mini without force quitting. So, I tried importing via Image Capture and have that export to Aperture, same issue. So I simply moved all items from my iPhone via Image Capture to a folder on my desktop and then went to Aperture and imported that folder, same results. In every case, the importing wheel stops at 50% yet all of the items SEEM to be listed in the new project.
Any idea as to what I might be doing wrong and/or what I might be able to do to fix it?
Thanks!

Probably not doing anything wrong. Aperture has some tasks it needs to do after the import like create previews and thumbnails for the images.
With an import of 2746 this could take a while.
The way Aperture works is once the actual import is done the images are made available to you to begin working on and the other tasks are carried out in the background. This is one reason why right after a big import Aperture might seem a bit sluggish, it is doing a lot of additional work in the background.
You should leave Aperture up and running until it is finished if you can. However if you have to shutdown the app it will pick up where it left off when you reopen it.

One thing to keep in mind here with all the import attempts you have done and the force quitting of Aperture you might have put the library in a less then good state. I recommend that you run a library repair before you try the import again. Hold the command and option keys down and select Repair from the menu. When that is done try the import again.

    My icalendar is on a never ending importing how do I get it to stop!

    Items purchased in an account a permanently associated with that account.  You cannot split accounts nor merge them.  You can log in with your family account and download items that way.  In the long run though, especially if you are using other Apple devices, you may encounter problems with authorization.  You should look into making new purchases with your own ID.

  • Never-Ending transcoding/importing? Here's the fix.

    Symptom:
    Transcoding keeps getting to 99% or so, and reverting back to 75% and continuing Ad Infinitum in a seeming never-ending loop.
    Problem:
    The registry is corrupted.
    Solution:
    1. Close all programs.
    2. Run Regedit.
    3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Adobe -> Common.
    4. Delete "Media Cache".
    5. Restart computer.
    Another possible culprit has proved to be an application called "FindSounds Palette" and it should be uninstalled completely using the following method:
    Uninstall "Find Sounds Palette" (FS Palette).
    Delete the two registry key folders for "Comparisonics".
    Uninstall Encore CS3.
    Delete Registry Keys for Encore.
    Restart.
    Re-Install Encore CS3.
    Re-Install Encore 3.0.1 update.
    Restart.

    Never should have been a question - sorry.

  • Mappings never ends

    Dear All,
    We are using 10.2 version of OWB and we have around 80 mappings in one module daily we are running the mappings parallel through control center for the time consuming (manually). but one mapping still running normally it takes 1:30 to 2:00 hrs time to finish but some times it is taken almost 5 to 6 hrs some times it never end. at that situation we stopped the mapping.but while we check the target table data is coming perfect.
    Let me know the cause of this and how to salve it.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    When you kill the mapping from the Control Center the DB session which was triggered by mapping won't kill , you may see the session still running from Session Browser or any other way. This may be the reason you see the data in the Target table. to test this you may start regular running mapping and kill it from CC and observe the session from Database and you may see the data in the target table too.
    This may be one possibility. I am not saying what others say is wrong . I had experienced this issue before and i had to tune my code to get the mapping run consistent.

  • Uploading never ends

    my uploading to ANY site NEVER ends!!! tis problem only Firefox experiences!!! it doesn't matter what site I upload to Firefox displays a uploading and never stops for eternity!!! I tried an extension called 'upload progress' to see what the slowness is, and when it gets to 100% I NEVER get redirected to the next step in the upload progress!!! Facebook, Forums, image sites, everything I upload to experiences this issue on Firefox

    Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
    #Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
    #After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
    #Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer#w_uninstall-firefox|Uninstall Firefox]] article.
    '''IMPORTANT:''' On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do '''not''' check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox [[Profiles|user profile data]] will be removed from your computer.
    After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
    * '''(On 32-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
    * '''(On 64-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox''
    #Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
    #In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
    #Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
    #* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the '''Program Files''' folder to open it.
    #* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the '''Program Files (x86)''' folder.
    #Look for a '''Mozilla Firefox''' folder. If you find one, right-click it and select ''Delete'' and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
    Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    #Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    #Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Have a wonderful day!

  • Maintenance Mode never ends

    I want to put a scom gruop into Maintenance. The Management Server is not member of it.
    When I use the following Powershell Script with SCOM 2012....
    Import-Module OperationsManager
    $Instance = Get-SCOMGroup -displayname "<Group>"
    $Time = ((Get-Date).AddMinutes(90))
    Start-SCOMMaintenanceMode -Instance $Instance -EndTime $Time -Comment "Automatic WSUS Updates" -Reason "PlannedOperatingSystemReconfiguration"
    ....the Maintenance mode never ends. I have to stop the mode manually. When I use the SCOM Console everything is fine.

    In my environment, it works but may be in some delay. Moreover, you can use get-scommaintenancemode to watch whether the maintenace mode and schedule end time is correct.

  • Http Request never ends

    Hi,
    Well I had a few minutes on my hand and decided to build a simple socket application that handles a browser request with a hello. Then I decided to complicate that a little and to actually send back what I receive. However the while loop that checked the input from the browser never ends (that is I never get a 1 from inputStream.read() method).
    Could someone please explain me why this happens? And how this could be solved? I mean how to detect that the request is over and it is time to respond. (In other words how can I base my response according to the request if I never know when the request is over!).
    Here is the code I used import java.io.BufferedInputStream;
    import java.io.BufferedOutputStream;
    import java.net.ServerSocket;
    import java.net.Socket;
    public class Test7 {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
      try {
       ServerSocket serverSocket = new ServerSocket(9989);
       while(true){
        Socket socket = serverSocket.accept();
        new Thread(new SimpleHttpHandler(socket)).run();
      catch (Exception e) {
       e.printStackTrace();
    class SimpleHttpHandler implements Runnable{

       BufferedInputStream inputStream = new BufferedInputStream(
         this.client.getInputStream()
       int in = 0;
       while((in = inputStream.read()) != -1){
        System.out.print((char)in);
        outputStream.write(in);
       outputStream.close();
       outputStream.flush();
      catch(Exception e){

    So you can't read RFC but can read forums? :)Can you imagine reading documentation about something by continuously minimizing and maximizing the browser window? (which I do when at work so to attract less attention) :)
    Well if you want simplest way then just send header,
    data and close connection that's enough.Thanks :) I understand that now :)

  • Csimport that never ends

    Good morning,
    I am trying to import an ics calendar.
    This calendar has been export with csexport.
    The csexport takes a few seconds.
    But the csimport never ends (after several hours).
    There are 8000 events.
    A truss an the process show almost no nothing except:
    truss -p 16176
    brk(0x01B92320) = 0
    brk(0x01BA4320) = 0
    brk(0x01BB6320) = 0
    brk(0x01BC8320) = 0
    brk(0x01BDA320) = 0
    brk(0x01BEC320) = 0
    I have open call 70642348 because I am stuck.
    Would you know what I could do else to to import this ics file
    or to trace the problem?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    I do not have other system, but I can provide you the ics file.
    You should immediatly see my problem.
    What I have find out also is that if I export with csexport rather than uwc,
    I do not have this problem although the files are very similar.It might be good to provide both .ics files on the Sun support call -- the calendar exported from uwc, and exported using csexport.
    Thanks.

  • [Help]: Web-Report is refreshed never end.

    Dear Collegues.
    Hi guys ...
    In the web-report,,, i intend to make the report can extend some Info Object automatically & programmatically.
    Hence, i use web-API & javascript to make it happened. How ??
    In the web-designer; especially in HTML part, i create javascript & web-API code:
    <script>
    function test() {
      SAPBWOpenURL("<SAP_BW_URL DATA_PROVIDER='ZCVP_CON' CMD='EXPAND' IOBJNM='ZBRSLSPR' AXIS='Y'>");
    test();
    </script>
    I add this before the row of code : </BODY>
    Virtually, this line of code worked (It can expand the InfoObject/Characteristi/Key Figure that i want to) .. But..
    The report Web-Report is Refreshed never ending.
    <b>Could somebody tell me how to make some function is run only once ??</b>
    Should i check the session/something?? For Example the catche.
    Could somebody give me the clues how to make it happened ??
    If any of you little bit don't understand with my explanation & questions, p/s don't hesitate to ask me to make it clear.
    Kind Regards,
    Niel

    Hi Deepu,
    Basically, we're gonna make the process automatically run therefore i didn't use button/link to make it.
    Do you have any idea how to make the function run once???
    Because if we refer on ASP programming, it has condition to make sure some function is run only once.
    Many Tks Deepu.
    Kind regards,
    Niel.

  • Never Ending Authorize loop

    I'm now running into the never ending authorization loop.
    I've found the KB Article and have followed all of the steps, but am still not able to get passed it.
    I am noticing however that there are some discrepancies, even when I attempt to login to this site.
    My Apple ID doesn't follow an e-mail address format [email protected] When I go to authorize however, by default, the system puts in the @xxx.com extension. I remove it and the system tells me that the computer is already authorized.
    I'm using Windows7 x64 with iTunes 9.0.2.25 and a 3rd Generation Nano.
    I've sent an e-mail in to Apple for guidance, but am looking for any other ideas.

    Here is some additional information that I find questionable / lead me to believe that this is a bug in the system.
    As I continue to look through the list of files that are "Not Authorized" I find that some of them are files, I didn't purchase through the iTunes store, but rather music that was imported via a CD from my collection.
    What's going on Apple?!?!

  • AdamSync from AD to LDS goes into a continuous never ending loop... can't figure this out.

    I THINK I've got this thing configured up to the point where it should be able to sync.  The XML config is set to just grab a single OU with roughly 12 accounts in it.

    Are there any error messages from the event log?
    Here is a KB article which describes a similar issue below I suggest you refer to:

  • A never ending multiplayer game?

    Hi
    I want to make a 2d spaceship multiplayer game (applet). The game should have lots of human controlled spaceships (and maybe some computer controlled spaceships if there are no human players). Each time a new user starts a game in its web browser, a new spaceship will appear in the game. The user will play until his spaceship is shot by another player. A shot spaceship will disappear from the game, and the player may choose to start a new game with a new spaceship. But the game on the server should never end. Each user will play in the same game on the server (but there may be a maximum number of players).
    Is it possible to make a game that never ends? Which requirements apply to the server? Is it possible to use a normal web server (you have only FTP access to the server computer)?

    this is a fast extract from my files, when you run Gclient the server will be launched and 2 clients will be opend, the red boxes are players
    using the mouse you move the box, the change of location is propagate thru the server.

  • FCPX never ending transcoding after Mavericks?

    Hello folks,
    Saw some of the other threads about problems with FCPX and Mavericks.  Fortunately, everything has been fine for me... up to this point.  I didn't see this discussed yet so I figured I'd post my issue in it's own thread.
    I've been trying to import some files (AVCHD) as usual for ongoing projects.  I copy the files and transcode them to optimized media.  Never had a problem before.  It seems to copy all the files fine, but seemingly never stops transcoding.  I've been trying to import two different projects... about 4-5 hours of footage each... and it's been two days now and the transcoding never ends!  Typically one such project takes about real time to import and transcode (4-5 hours, if not faster, never really timed it).  I'd begin an export in the morning and come back after lunch and it would always be done.
    That is no longer the case it seems.
    Has anyone else experience the same issue?  I just installed any and all updates available (nothing for FCPX however), restarted my computer and FCPX, and am trying again.  Hopefully the footage ingests fine this time.  But for the sake of losing more time and getting more frustrated, I'm hoping someone out there has a solution to this in the event the same problem persists for me.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Matt

    Hi Russ,
    Thanks for taking the time to respond.  You've been extremely helpful in the past!   As an update... I started the import around 7pm last night (EST).  This morning, at 5am, it was still importing and transcoding... but it looked like it was at least working.  After restarting last night, I tried to import and transcode a single short clip before doing the full import and that was easily successful.
    When I get to the import prompt, I only check off "Copy files to Final Cut Events folder" and "Create optimized media".   This workflow has been great for me.  I turn off background rendering and don't even render 2 hour long projects with heavily edited footage before exporting to m4v master files (which turn out just fine without the rendering).  That's beside the point though.
    Back on track, when I open the Background Tasks, of course the transcoding is going.  The Importing Media is stuck on 99%.  Not sure if that's normal or not... never really paid attention to that in the past.   The Rendering says it's creating audio waveforms.  Again, not sure if that's normal or not.
    In Activity Monitor, I might have found a problem.  It seems FCPX is only using around 0.5% of CPU during the import.  No other program is running really except for Activity Monitor, which would leapfrog FCPX in how much of the CPU it's using at time.  At the bottom, it says my computer is around 98-99% idle!  That all raises an eyebrow to say the least.  I'm not a computer whiz when it comes to the technical aspect of how my system might be performing and I have admittedly not tried an import on another machine yet (I have three iMac's).  So it may just be an issue with this one machine.
    It's a 2011 model year running a 2.93 quad, i7.  At least I'm pretty sure of that.  I'm on a corporate event now typing away from another one of my iMac's and won't even know if the import and transcoding back at home is successful until I get back in tonight around 6:30 or so.
    Even if it is, there's definitely something going on with how long it's taking.  What's typically a 4-5 hour process (est) was still ingesting 10 hours later.

  • Updated my iPhone 5 to ios7, in the App store after installing updates I now have a never ending list of the Apps I've updated.  How do I get rid of the list after they've been updated?  In the previous version I did not have an annoying permanent list.

    iOS 7 allows you to have your apps update automatically. Therefore, the list of what has been updated stays so that you can see what was updated, when and what the release notes say. It has been suggested that they list has a limit, much like Recents. Currently, there is no way for the user to delete the entries manually. Just try not to look at them.

  • Loading plsql_proxy.jar takes so long..never ends

    Hello people,
    I´m deploying a proxy cliente using command,
    jpub -u SCOTT/SCOTT -sysuser SCOTT/SCOTT -proxywsdl=any_wsdl -endpoint=any
    then the executing process stay in Load plsql_proxy.jar for a long time. it looks like never ends.
    plsql_wrapper.sql
    plsql_dropper.sql
    plsql_grant.sql
    plsql_revoke.sql
    Executing plsql_dropper.sql
    Executing plsql_wrapper.sql
    loading sqlj/lib/dbwsclient.jar (about 5 minutes)...
    Loading plsql_proxy.jar......................
    the execution process looks like stopped at this here and doesn´t throw any exception.
    I´ll be grateful the soon answer.
    Rodius
    anybody knows how long takes the proxy client generation process?

    I have this issue also, with images from my D70 (~6 megapixels) ... no solution, except that when it happens, quitting and re-launching Aperture seems to clear it up for a while, at least until it happens again.
    Given that you have almost twice the RAM and four times the CPU cores that I have, I suspect this is a software issue, and not one of insufficient hardware resources.  :-)
