Never ending sync...

I'm REALLY, REALLY bored about the Iphone and Itunes. I had Iphone 3GS, 4, 4S, now 5C.
There were, and are ALWAYS problems about syncing with Itunes. Itunes is probably the worst ever software made for a device.
When i try to synchronize my music, i always get the message "Waiting for changes to apply" or "Waiting to syncing"(sorry, i don't know if that's the correct sentences in english, my Iphone/Itunes are in french language). I'm on iOS 8.1.3.
Before trying to sell always new versions of his phones, Apple should really care about Itunes, and work for a SIMPLE and EFFICIENT software, instead of creating a totally heavy and bugging software.

Yes, they changed the sync process a bit. After the backup, which is now step 2, transferring items to the phone is done in step 7, no matter if you copy photos, apps or other media, iTunes is sorting the items in step 3-6, after that the actual copy process is started.
So, I think, if your process is not finished in step 7, there are some app, photos or similar missing, and iTunes can't finish the sync.
Did you already try to delete the photo cache? It contains data about all photos ever transferred to your iPod, and sometimes iTunes can't read the data anymore. Deleting it will start a new cache and can also clear syncing problems. Photo Sync creates iPod photo Cache
Also try to reset the sync history in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.

  • How can I solve the never ending sync since updating to ios5?

I'm running Lion and when I upgraded my iPone 3GS to iOS5 I can no longer sync.  It freezes with the message "Waiting for sync to start".

I was stuck at that same message through three iOS restore cycles.
I just got off the phone with Apple Support and resolved my issue. It just needed a re-installation of iTunes.
My case is with Windows and iPhone 4, though. Good luck.

  • IPhone never finishes syncing

I have an iPhone 3G and all of a sudden, I am unable to complete a sync. The iTunes will stop responding in the middle of it as it says "Finishing Sync". I tried my other PC and it did the same thing. No music or ringtones will sync either. I tried just one song. It wiped out my songs already on my iPhone. What can I do to get iTunes to finish syncing? Could it be my phone? I have yet to download Ver 4.1. I am too scared.

After browsing through several similar posts, "https://discussions.apple.com/message/11273586#11273586" got me to try to un-sync contacts. That got the sync to finish as before. Further posts seemed to indicate that a corrupt file would cause this never ending sync. I think that's true since not syncing the contacts fixed the problem. I don't know how to fix corrupt contacts.
    Anybody have a suggestion.

  • Sync never ends

I have a new 32mb Touch. I originally synced it while on vacation with PC #1, and it worked perfectly. Now I am home, and I have attempted to sync it with PC #2.
I tried several times to sync to PC #2, and each time it would successfully transfer all (or most) of my media, but the sync process would never end.
I am using iTunes 7.6.1.9, and my Touch is version 1.1.3 with Software Upgrade.
I even went so far as to do a total restore of the Touch, but this doesn't seem to fix the problem.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

  • IPhone Sync Never Ends

When I sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes on my Window's computer, the sync ends on Step 7 and says "Waiting for items to copy." However, it never ends. I cancel the sync, and all the new content is there, but it never ends. The animation at the top shows that its working, but again, never ends. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on?

I have the same Problem, but with iMac (lion) and iPad (iOS 5) and in German .

  • 6.0.1 syncing itunes never ends

    Hi
My iPhone syncs poorly with iTunes. At the last step (7.7) after copying files, it takes forever waiting for files to copy... never ends
    Anybody on that?

Every time I sync I have to abort the end after a while, 10 minutes or more, after I realize it's no use. Doesn't seem to work erratically, but is very strange and should be corrected ASAP

  • Syncing calendar or contacts never ends...

Love my iPhone, love my new Macbook Air.
First time I sync'ed the two my 600 contacts made it from the computer to the phone.
Now I'm syncing again a few days later and music syncs, video syncs, but if I choose to sync contacts or calendar it never ends. I've left it for as much as 30 minutes and nada.
No progress is shown as it is with music, etc -- just a barber-pole like progress bar that never changes.
I've tried checking the sync box that says "for this sync only replace the content on the phone" and it doesn't make a difference.
I've tried powering the phone down and back up and nothing.
I rather not completely reset the phone because I suspect that this will wipe the call logs, voicemails, SMS conversations, etc.
If it helps, I think the problem started because during this 2nd sync it detected a bunch of "conflicts" in the address book and asked which version I wanted to keep. I went through and chose all the ones to keep but before that sync was done the sync got hung up because an SMS message came in which it was in progress and when I tried to slide the slider to get to the SMS I killed the sync (I didn't realize the slider killed syncs at that point).
    Any ideas?

One thing to try is to open isync from your applications folder.
Once isync is open, click on isync at the top of the screen and choose preferences.
In the preferences, reset sync history.
After sync history is reset, quit isync and try syncing the iphone again.
If the issue persists, try creating a new user account.
Log into the new account and open ical and address book.
Put a test contact into address boo and a test event into ical.
Then open itunes, go through the initial setup and try syncing just contacts and calendars.
    Make sure to merge data.
If the sync goes on in the new user account, then some how the data has become corrupted in your account and is causing the sync to hang.
    Hope this helps.

  • AdamSync from AD to LDS goes into a continuous never ending loop... can't figure this out.

I THINK I've got this thing configured up to the point where it should be able to sync.  The XML config is set to just grab a single OU with roughly 12 accounts in it.
Everything seems to connect OK, then it does a ton of "Processing Entry", even though there are only a few accounts in this OU.
Then it begins to do "Adding target object..." and gets stuck in a never ending loop.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how to troubleshoot this?

Are there any error messages from the event log?
Here is a KB article which describes a similar issue below I suggest you refer to:

  • Itunes never finishes syncing w/ my Ipod

For the last few months, Itunes will never finish syncing with my Ipod (I think 5th generation). I have the latest updates from Apple, and have about 27 gb's of the 30gb filled up with mainly music. I add ratings to the songs, but other than that, and a few song additions, there isn't much else to sync. In fact, when I first start syncing with Itunes, the center display window (i.e. where track info is shown) will tell me what is being synced over. Eventually it just says, something like "syncing with Ipod -- Do not disconnect". I've tried waiting for two days, and it'll remain like that. I end up pushing the eject button to free it. The ipod takes 5-10 before it is finally released from Itunes. Any ideas on how to fix?

I get this problem as well from time to time. It always seems to work itself out by it self too. What I do when it's acting up is when it says it's done my iPod screen will go to the main menu for about a second then back the the syncing do not unplug so I just time it right when it's at the main menu and unplug it then. So far it hasn't damaged anything.

  • Itunes synchronization with iphone5 never ends, why?

itunes synchronization with iphone5 never ends, why? I have NO jailbreak or similar.

    Hello willy198
Try removing an option that you sync like music. Uncheck it then sync and then revert the change back. Test the sync and it should resolve the issue.

In the Desktop Manager > Sync > Configuration, make sure the calendar options are set to override Outlook.
Set it also to notify you of the changes, so you will have to approve any changes.

iOS 7 allows you to have your apps update automatically. Therefore, the list of what has been updated stays so that you can see what was updated, when and what the release notes say. It has been suggested that they list has a limit, much like Recents. Currently, there is no way for the user to delete the entries manually. Just try not to look at them.

    Hello Allan,
I did the reset, the pc scrren said it would take about a half hour reseting which is ok. But midway through the process it apparently disconnected itself from the Ipad and the ipad icon disappeared from the itunes screen.  Will try process again see if it works.  Thanks for the suggestion.
