Never-Ending "Waiting" Bar?

I'll try to clarify the problem as best as I can:
I currently have iTunes v7.5, and it was working perfectly fine until about 30 minutes ago....
I was in the iTunes store and I clicked on the link to go to the homepage (it is shaped like a house), and it never did anything. I signed out, thinking that that would solve the problem, but it just complicated matters. Near the top of the screen, it says "Accessing iTunes Store," and there is a little bar-- it has dark and light slanted lines traveling horizontally inside the bar, and that is all it is doing when I am in the "iTunes Store" link.
Does anyone know what the problem is? It won't leave the page where is just says "iTunes Store"..... Ah!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

After a bit more research I have actually found a solution!! Not sure what app nap is but I went and checked the "prevent app nap" box when I clicked "get info" on fcpx application.
I am now exporting images without any problems! Wooooot =D

  • Never Ending "Waiting" Export Stills FCPX

    I use Final Cut Pro X version 10.1.2 and when I try to export a still frame(jpeg or any format) I get a never ending waiting in the share window. This used to happen with about every 5-10 images and then would restart FCPX and it would be back to normal. Now it does it from the start and cannot export a single still for my work projects.
    I have tried trashing Preferences, restarting computer, shut down computer, and resetting queue in Compressor settings even though I don't use compressor app for this process.
    Any help or ideas on how to get back to processing stills is greatly appreciated! Thank you

  • Runnig Win XP PRo (SP3) Boot Camp in Fusion 2 - Never Ending Progress bar..

    Hello guys
    I'm running Vmware fusion 2 and Have a Bootcamp partition of 32GB size (Latest Leopard ,MBP 15" 2.53Ghz ,4GB RAM). Fusion detects the Boot camp partition but when i click to run it it brings up a little window saying "Please wait while Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run....".
    I left it to run over night (8+ Hrs) but the window was still there? It never finishes so i tried Force Quit and then did the below command in terminal (because Fusion was showing the Boot Camp partition as "Damaged" after the Force Quit):
    rm -dfr "/Users/${USER}/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp"
    Running that command makes Fusion Remove the "damaged" Bootcamp and on on Fusion Restart Boot camp partition is recognized as normal again, so i tried to run the Boot Camp partition again in Fusion, The Progress bar window came up again saying "Please wait while Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition..." , i left it to run for another 5+ hours but nothing again! That window is still there and i had to force quit it since nothing ever happens,
    Can someone please help?

  • Suddenly never ending pinwheel and slower than usual

    My macbook pro suddenly started to get slow and gave me a never ending pinwheel while only having Safari running. The mouse was working but no response when clicking. Only way to restart computer was by holding down the Start button. Restarted and this time the computer hang up when I tried to Log in (while writing Login and password). I mangaged to Log in two more times but I got the pinwheel again when browsing internet. Finally I managed to make it to Support/Community.. any idea what's wrong?
    Thanks in advance (: !

    Print out these instructions and info at the links provided as most require you to be offline.
    Do a SMC and PRAM reset first, then a Hardware Test
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/26871.html
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509
    If the hardware test gives any errors, note them here.
    Check the time and date on your computer to make sure it's correct.
    If your still having slowdowns, pull the power plug on both the router and the modem, connect the modem and wait a bit then connect the router. Reboot your computer and it should connect automatically to your wifi. See if your slowdowns only occur if connecteted to the WiFI or not, that way it can be determined if it's a internet issue or not.
    (If your still having slowdowns, it might be because you have a Open Network on your router and someone is leaching off of it. WPA 2 with AES is the only secure wifi standard))
    You can test your internet connection speed here, see if it matches what your paying for.
    http://www.speedtest.net/
    IF your computer still has issues then:
    Fish out the 10.6.x disks that came with your computer (grey) or the 10.6.3 Snow Leopard retail disk, stick it in the computer and reboot holding the c key.
    (Make sure the disks are clean on the bottom, wipe with a very soft cloth and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol to clean and don't place the disk on a harsh surface that can damage the bottom.)
    Second screen in, under the Utilities menu is Disk Utility, select your drive on the left and click First Aid, Repair Disk (please write down any errors this gives and tell us) and Repair Permissions (the results there you can ignore)
    Do not erase or reformat the drive.
    Reboot and see if your computer works, if not repeat the c boot off the installer disk again and this time skip Disk Utility and install OS X.
    It will install on top of your 10.6.8 installed version (only, not your programs or files), which when finished you reboot and immediately Software Update to 10.6.8
    This should take care of anything wrong with OS X itself.
    Now to clean the caches of the user and other checks.
    Download the free OnyX for 10.6 and run ALL the maintenance and cleaning aspects and reboot at the end of the tasks (you can cancel in between reboots) but reboot at the end of using Onyx)
    Do all the checks it asks when it starts up and note any errors here they report.
    Also under the Verify Tab is a Preference (plist) check, check the "show only corrupt files" and run that, make a note of all and any corrupt plist files.
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/
    Plist files are preference settings files that sometimes get corrupted and may be the cause of your problems.
    If you have some, then you can look in your Users/Library/Preferences folder for them and Trash them and reboot the machine and load the program responsible, the plist file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
    The next thing to check would be your web browser plug-ins here
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
    For Flash in Safari check here again as it's more accurate
    http://flashbuilder.eu/flash-player-version.html
    Download Flash and install if it's not this version (latest)
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Silverlight here
    https://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx
    Finally install and run ClamXAv on your drive, this will look for known malware that might have gotten accidentally installed.
    http://www.clamxav.com/
    Since OS X was reinstalled, along with bundled programs like Safari, this should only leave applications and users as a source of any infection.
    If your stil having issues, then create a new user and transfer your files over and when up on the new user, delete it.

  • Http Request never ends

    Hi,
    Well I had a few minutes on my hand and decided to build a simple socket application that handles a browser request with a hello. Then I decided to complicate that a little and to actually send back what I receive. However the while loop that checked the input from the browser never ends (that is I never get a 1 from inputStream.read() method).
    Could someone please explain me why this happens? And how this could be solved? I mean how to detect that the request is over and it is time to respond. (In other words how can I base my response according to the request if I never know when the request is over!).
    Here is the code I used import java.io.BufferedInputStream;
    import java.io.BufferedOutputStream;
    import java.net.ServerSocket;
    import java.net.Socket;
    public class Test7 {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
      try {
       ServerSocket serverSocket = new ServerSocket(9989);
       while(true){
        Socket socket = serverSocket.accept();
        new Thread(new SimpleHttpHandler(socket)).run();
      catch (Exception e) {
       e.printStackTrace();
    class SimpleHttpHandler implements Runnable{
    private Socket client;
    public SimpleHttpHandler(Socket client){
      this.client = client;
    public void run(){
      try{
       BufferedOutputStream outputStream = new BufferedOutputStream(
         this.client.getOutputStream()
       BufferedInputStream inputStream = new BufferedInputStream(
         this.client.getInputStream()
       int in = 0;
       while((in = inputStream.read()) != -1){
        System.out.print((char)in);
        outputStream.write(in);
       outputStream.close();
       outputStream.flush();
      catch(Exception e){
       e.printStackTrace();

    So you can't read RFC but can read forums? :)Can you imagine reading documentation about something by continuously minimizing and maximizing the browser window? (which I do when at work so to attract less attention) :)
    Well if you want simplest way then just send header,
    data and close connection that's enough.Thanks :) I understand that now :)

    The code I provided above was not correct. I fixed it and posted it again just in case someone else comes across this post. As already said this was not what I had in mind to do in the first place, but it was fun :) Anyways here is the working code! (Although naturally not good for anything)import java.io.BufferedReader;

  • PFI Compilation never ends

    Hi,
    I have been developping my app since 2 month now and I never had any problem with creating test ipas (ie:target = ipa-test). But when I decided to create my final build for the app store (target = ipa-app-store) the process never ends.
    I run the compilation and it seems to be doing something (I can see the temp files and hear the fans) but it just doesn't stop. I tried many times and usually kill the process after an hour or so.
    I know that other people had a similar problem but I didn't find any official answer for it. Is it a bug? Does it have a workaround?
    I'm on a Mac with Snow Leopard and tried to build the ipa from both Flash CS5 and a custom ant build.
    I would really appreciate some feedback about it.
    Cheers,
    Ben

    First and foremost, compiling for iOS takes a lot of resources, it cannot be compared to packaging for Android, because the process is completely different, AIR on Android runs interpreted code, while on iOS it is native code, before deciding the compilation is stuck you should check the java/adt processes aren't doing anything. It's been said future AIR versions will reduce iOS compilation times.
    Second, I've seen iOS compilation fail and take forever only when using certain ANEs and Flash Builder versions. FB doesn't take too well certain ANE warnings and errors, and instead of ignoring or finishing the process showing some alert, it just sits there making you wait forever. If you are using ANEs in your project, you should isolate the problematic one, and then determine what may be the cause... if some problem with the iOS SDK used with your AIR SDK, if the ANE is causing some unimportant warnings but your IDE doesn't like them, etc.

  • IPhone Sync Never Ends

    When I sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes on my Window's computer, the sync ends on Step 7 and says "Waiting for items to copy." However, it never ends. I cancel the sync, and all the new content is there, but it never ends. The animation at the top shows that its working, but again, never ends. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on?

    I have the same Problem, but with iMac (lion) and iPad (iOS 5) and in German .

  • Safari 4.0.3 for leopard 10.5.8 never ends loading

    Ok, so I had Leopard 10.5.7 and updated to Leapord 10.5.8 and when I did Safari 4.0.2 downloaded with it.
    Safari 4.0.2 never ended loading its start page. So when Safari 4.0.3 cam out, I deleted 4.0.2 and downloaded 4.0.3. Still the problem remains. As soon as I open Safari, it starts loading and never ends (I waited 1 hour one day). When its loading I cant even use Safari b/c the beachball comes up. Though other applications like Firefox do work, even when Safari is loading.
    How would I fix it.
    Thanks for your help!

    Is anyone else having this problem????
    Does anyone know how to fix it? Having to use Firefox is getting annoying after being used to Safari.
    If it helps, I have Windows XP downloaded on the computer using bootcamp but this problem started way after I started using bootcamp.

  • Generate New Database job never ends

    Hi all,
    We are trying to generate a new template in our DEV environment, the job remains active but never ends. On every attempt , the process stops in a different table or process.
    The log file (level 5) simply stops in a certain point and nothing else happens. The dbeng9 processes consumes almost 90% CPU but the process siebsh does not appear between the top processes.
    We already tried reset all the servers, gateway, reassign the remote component group, recreating diccache.dat, but nothing worked.
    We use siebel loyalty 8.1.1.1 and oracle 11g 11.2 , on top of aix 5.3
    Meanwhile, the workaround was to generate new template in another siebel enterprise and copied the templates to the DEV environment and extracted the databases.
    Will be very thankful if anyone can help.
    Thanks in advance

    But the problem is that the process really stucked. The siebel.dbf , which should be created during the job , stop increasing the size around 30M while in the other environment, when the process finished , the file reached 80M.
    The log file also suddenly stopped to increase. It really seems that the process is waiting for something.
    We are not having resource problems like disk space , cpu or memory lacking.
    Guys, do you know what kind of consistency should be checked for GennewDB? If the repository table definitions have differences when compared with actual physical schema, suppose that we forget to apply some new table definitions, would it be the root cause? Do you know a way to compare the repository definitions against the physical schema? I think "apply all" is not an option..
    Thanks in advance

  • Launching a never ending vi in sequence

    Hi!
    I have a vi that can basically be represented by a while loop that never stops until i press a button.
    I want to load and run this vi from a sequence without it hanging up that sequence.
    Also, at the end of the sequence it would be great if it could end the loop in the vi.
    For this last part I made the vi read out a variable in my locals and stop the loop as soon as it is a certain value.
    (I think this is a good solution, but any suggestions are of course welcome )
    For being able to run the rest of the sequence, even though the vi never ends, I was less successful.
    I tried putting the vi in a subsequence and then running that subsequence in a different thread.
    However, stepping through the main sequence, it does steps over the call of the subsequence,
    but then the main sequence still freezes until i stop the loop in my vi.
    What am i doing wrong exactly? Any help would be much appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Run Asynchronous VI basically uses a sequence call module with the "New Thread" option, but I don't think it does much more than that. I think you still have to do ExternallySuspended and/or Termination monitor in your vi. At any rate, I recommend against using Run asynchronous vi as there have been issues with using that step type (confusion over what passing ThisContext means for the most part). See the following link for more details about the issues with Run asynchronous vi if you are interested:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&message.id=28101&query.id=753835#M28101
    As far as termination monitor not detecting whether or not the original thread has completed normally, that is not its purpose and not always what a user might want. For example, you might have a worker thread that you want to keep running even after the thread that launched it completes. There might even be more than two threads in the execution and the execution technically isn't complete until all threads are done, including the asynchronous ones. The purpose of the termination monitor is to give the code module a way to detect when the user is requesting a terminate or abort so that it can return and allow the execution to terminate or abort normally (an execution cannot terminate or abort while a code module is still running).
    Like you are suggesting, you can probably pass in the original caller's thread as a parameter to the asynchronous sequence and your VI and call Thread.WaitForEnd on it with a 0 ms timeout to check if it's done in your loop. You need to make sure that you unchecked the "Automatically Wait for the Thread to Complete at the End of the Current Sequence" setting on the advanced panel of your sequence call step though or your threads will both be waiting for each other and never complete. Also the sequence view of the execution is likely to switch to your asynchrous thread at the end because it will be the last thread running, so if you don't want that you should probably just go with passing a boolean variable instead and leave the setting "Automatically Wait for the Thread to Complete at the End of the Current
    Sequence" checked. Do not ever pass ThisContext from one thread to another though as that is the source of the problems people are having with Run VI Asynchronously.
    Hope this helps,
    -Doug

          end loop; -- end loop through the stats for each pitcher
          close konami_mlb_career_pit_crsr;
       end loop; -- end loop through all the pitchers
       close konami_mlb_pitchers_crsr;

    You don't seem to be using the cursor iterator variable "pitcher" when you print the data to the file. You are not even passing any parameter to the "konami_mlb_career_pit_crsr" cursor. As such the first cursor "konami_mlb_pitchers_crsr" appears to be redundant.
    Maybe the loop is time-consuming (instead of "never-ending"), and if you wait long enough, it will end. In the meantime, you may want to tune your logic.

  • 6.0.1 syncing itunes never ends

    Hi
    My iPhone syncs poorly with iTunes. At the last step (7.7) after copying files, it takes forever waiting for files to copy... never ends
    Anybody on that?

    Every time I sync I have to abort the end after a while, 10 minutes or more, after I realize it's no use. Doesn't seem to work erratically, but is very strange and should be corrected ASAP

  • JAXB on a never-ending stream.

    Hi.
    Would it be considered possible to use JAXB to parse a never-ending stream of XML? For instance...
    <foo:foo xmlns="some:namespace">
        <bar> ... </bar>
        <bar> ... </bar>
        <bar> ... </bar>
        <bar> ... </bar>
        <bar> ... </bar>
        ... continues for eternity ...
    </foo:foo>Each time I parse a chunk I want to get one 'bar' element only. Namespaces dropped into 'foo' would have to correctly affect these individual documents, so simply consuming the first bit of the stream and asking it to parse multiple times is probably the wrong approach. :-)
    And of course somewhere I would need to output the damn things again, and again with correct namespaces. So maybe it is too hard afterall.

    I'm not sure if this is what crowse was suggesting, but you could potentially use a SAXParser to get the discreet <bar></bar> events and pump that to an Unmarshaller to return objects to you. You'll want to turn off validation on the Unmarshaller, since you've already been through that once with the SAXParser.
    If you're interested in parsing streaming XML using JAXB, another alternative is to alter your protocol so that your repeating element is a toplevel element. You can then prefix the element length to the XML. This should allow you to quickly find the end of the element without having to actively parse it. You can then feed that packet to the Unmarshaller.
