Never ever rv220w again

Hi
Just bought this router as Cisco have a good reputation, but i've never owned a product that's so Beta'ish. Allmost nothing is working as it should with firmware 1.0.4.17, and it has not been updated since August 2012.
I've tried to setup normal portforward, without luck, i've tried to setup PPTP VPN, but having problems, if i do it like the manual says(Same network as VLan error). Simple things that should be working on a product like this, without any problems.
I'm for sure going to return this router to the seller.

I would have thoght that August 2012 release firmware would still count as current. To release firmware in a complex product requires a lot of testing (hopefully!) and 1.0.4.17 did fix a lot of bugs. I would hope that Cisco is working a new release however I would not have expected it to be released yet.
Your problem sounds like it could be a set-up problem. It seems that a lot of users have got PPTP VPN working. If you are still having problems then provide some information for the forum People like Tom are very helpful and seem very
knowledgeable. Alternatively you can place a call with Cisco.

There is a world of information in these forums if you use the search function near the top right of this page. Just type in NAS for example and you get many threads on the subject (marked with a green checkmark if it solved the question) another example would be Airport Exterme and sound system. Once you formulate your ideas better then specific questions can be addressed one at a time. You may find that a less expensive choice for a server might be a mac mini. Good luck with your project, ask more specific questions and update you systems profile.

Hi everyone! I'm in need of extreme help. You see, today, two months ago I went out of the country from the United States of America. I took about 1500 pictures ONLY on my iPod touch. When I returned to the United States to my home, I accidentally deleted a little more than 100 pictures. Then, thinking I could get ALL of the pictures back at once, I restored my iPod touch from an iCloud backup I had a couple of days before. Instead of getting all of my pics back, they all got erased. The pictures that I did delete were deleted from Camera Roll AND Photo Stream (iCloud). Then, I was only able to get about 500 pictures back from iCloud. So about 1000 are still gone. When i did the restore, I thought all my pictures would be there, but they weren't and I couldn't possibly figure out why; because a restore from iTunes or iCloud is supposed to restore your device to the settings of the time you backed up your device. All of my other settings were just the way they were supposed tone for the time being, all except my pictures, which contained not one picture in any folder. So EVERYTHING from Cameta Roll was gone, and only about 500 pictures survived. I kept retoring and restoring, hoping they would come back but unfortunately they didn't. Then one time a restored again, I saw all of them back!! But then, within a blink of an eye, they disappeared as soon as I tapped on one picture. Then, I knew they were still in reach, but I just had to find them. Where could those 1000 pictures go? I looked up how to recover deleted photos, but I have to install a software. My computer CANNOT possibly take anymore software on it, my PC is very sensitive and I cannot delete anything off of it. Please please help me. What can I do to get my pictures back? They are memories that I can never EVER EVER get back. Thank you so much.

TM saves the same (never changed) files again and again

I just had a look at my log, I found two problems: error 43, which I solved by changing TM disk and coming back to the original one, and something odd: it seems for the past two days TM has been saving again and again 12 files - size unchanged - from a disk containing nothing but old stuff I never ever touch.
Jun 10 10:47:01 myMacPro /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[75795]: Copied 12 files (25 KB) from volume XYZ.
I get a bad feeling about this - any clues?

Hi,
that's because you are installing over an historical timeline. Updates that you have not yet installed may have back dependencies to updates that you have removed from the update logs.
Most updates from Win7 RTM will require the PC to be rebooted. Win7 SP1. You should not delete your Update History between reboots.
If you require to run Diskcleanup in order to recover space from your c drive, then you have partitioned your c drive too small (100 Gb min). Go back to re-installing the OS or better from a backup or use the System Control panel to increase your c drive's
allocated storage.

IPad 3 freezes after upgrade to 8.0. Never ever had a problem with 7, at all. want to throw the stupid thing out.

After upgrading from 7 to 8 my iPad 3 will freeze using email, safari, games. I never ever had a problem before this upgrade. Have done all the temporary suggestions but nothing is a permanent and will come right back. I am so sorry that I upgraded, can not go back. I really want to thank the IOS guys for screwing everything up. Seems like old times with the Microsoft Tech guys. I have no problem with my iPhone 6 Plus phone.

It seems to be caused by roboform 7.5.1. I upgraded to the latest version of robo and it's working now. Sorry mozilla, not your fault.. very frustrated.

You could well be looking at a new iPod, but this will only cost you a couple of bucks, and a little time. Worth trying, but it maybe to late, (I just don't want to give you any false hope.) Turn your iPod off and leave it off, do not attempt to charge it or use until you dry your iPod out. Put it in a sealed bag of rice for at least 7 to 10 days. change the rice daily. If (and it's a "BIG" if) your lucky after drying the iPod it will start up when you turn on the power. You may need to charge it for at least 30 minutes to get some signs of life. If it does not turn on after charging attempt a reset, press and hold both the power and home buttons together for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons. If your iPod turns on, check that all is working. If you get it to work the first thing you should be is back up everything on your iPod to your computer, no guarantee it will continue to work. Water does bad things to electronic toys. If it doesn't work your only out a couple of bucks, then it's time for new toys. You may want to look at replacing with a refurbished iPod, about 1/2 of new. Why is it when I ask apple to reset my security questions to my email inbox I never ever receive an email and no I can't use the money I have in iTunes.

Can Not Acess iTunes store says "accessing itunes Store" and never ever does

Will not open iTunes status bar keeps scrooling saying "accessing iTunes" (but it never ever opens. Just keeps spinning. And because it does not open itunes it does not pick up or reconize my iphone when I plug it in.

I could use this brand new tablet HP Pavilion x2 10.1 (32GB) exactly ONCE, or say it more precisely for one battery charge. And loved it. Then it was discharged, and the trouble began: Since then, it won't turn on at all, even while charging. There is not even ANY sign (not even a light) if I press the Power button, and also holding it for 10 seconds and so on did not help.

So is this maybe a problem of the production? Now for the questions:0) How can I turn it ever on again?
1) Is the charger (made in China) responsible? Can I use another one and which one? Does it have to be 5V 3A, or is e.g. a 5V 2A also ok?
2) Is the charging electronic inside of the device not reliable?
3) Is there maybe another way to bring it back? Maybe you can charge it by the contacts of the dock connector? Or using some electricity measurement tool there what is going on?

HT5848 Cannot tap "play more like this" or "never play this again"!

On my iPhone 5 in the iTunes Radio page when I tap on the star I cannot tap the options to "play more like this" or to "never play this again". Is anyone else having this problem/can someone help me out? Thanks!!

I have this same problem; however, I've always ONLY been able to "play more like this" on the PRESET stations; otherwise, how could you have any 'new music' to select that you may want to hear more songs like the one you just heard and 'play more like this." If you could only choose your OWN music to "play more like this," it doesn't make sense why you would choose your own music?
So, I've been able to choose "play more like this," ONLY on the preset stations, but sometimes they are grayed out and I cannot select that option.
