Never see the charging battery indicator

Hi...I just got the new 8 GB Nano 3G and there is something I don't understand. When I plug my Ipod to my Intel MAC mini on a USB 2.0 port, I never see the big battery charging indicator or the charged battery indicator. The only thing I see on the grey screen is a 30 pin black connector image in an orange circle and it's written underneath : Connected...Eject before disconnecting. How come I don't see the charging battery indicator ??
The other thing, this screen is always ON at full brightness. Is there a way to get this screen turned OFF or dimmed when connected to the computer ?
I tried the IPOD directly connected to the computer or connected to the Apple dock and no difference. I run IPOD firmware 1.01 and the latest version of Itunes.

Regarding the Battery indicator I think that is working as designed. If you EJECT your ipod (while keeping it connected to the USB port) then you should see the charging indicator.
The dimming question... You can change this setting in the menu. Now I don't have my ipod in front of me to give you the right path but you should find it fairly easy if you browse the menus. Look for "backlight" in "settings" I think.

During normal charging phase is there a way to see the estimated battery% ? If I am at 10% and plug in to charge and it takes 30 minutes to get to 55% then I know there are about 30 more minutes of charging until I'm at 100%.

There is an App at the App store called "Battery Magic". You can get a trial version, (free) that will show you what you want to know, including battery life, and how long you can play games, music and other things on your current battery life.
You can also download the full version. I think its $0.99.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps..

Why has the big battery indicator disappeared?

My iPod Touch (IOS 6.1.3) no longer shows the big battery indicator when the iPod is turned on or plugged in for a recharge. The battery seems to charge ok according to the tiny battery indicator but the big indicator has disappeared for good. Also, when plugged in, the tiny indicator doesn't show charging is taking place.
In addition, the device no longer shows up in iTunes and doesn;t sync. I suspected a defective cable but chraging does seem to work. Have tried recycling power to no efect.

My iphone has run out of battery and displys the charging battery when connected. But it doesnt actually charge or is recognised by my mac.

When my phone ran put of battery it went to 1% i charged it all night from a outlet, however in the morning it was still on 1%. So i switched it off to charge, it then said no charge. Then when i try to charge it no charge goes in! Even when plugged into my mac nothing happens, the phone displays the charging battery but the mac doesnt pick up on the phon ebing plugged in. help?!

Clean iPhone charging port with toothbrush. See if better. If not and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, Apple has battery replacement program which costs $80. If you go your own route, consider batter replacement and/or charging port replacement with attached flex cable, both are less than $10 parts.

My advice is to try not to treat this like it is a paid service provided by compensated professionals. Ask nicely and one of the nice folks here might take some time out of their weekend to offer advice.

New to Iphone ...purchased Music but don't see the charges in my bank account

I am a brand new iPhone 5 user; actually a brand new apple user. I purchased some music last night and this morning, but I don't see the charges showing as pending in my bank account. Do they not show up as pending? or do they accumulate for a few days or so and then are charged? or are they charged for each single purchase? Just wondering how this works.

Mighty Mouse wireless: changing the setting of the low battery indicator

It seems that the low battery indicator for the wireless mighty mouse appears when the battery level goes under 30%. Is it possible to change this setting, e.g. make it occur when it passes the 5% of remaining battery?

I fully agree with Tibo. I'd like to change this setting as well.
This low battery warning may be a good heads-up for someone who feeds their MM cheap batteries but, I got two Energizer AA Lithium batteries in mine and it literally "keeps going and going..." consistently for weeks while constantly receiving the annoying low battery warning.
Come on, users a perfectly capable of deciding what is fair-warning on the life of batteries we feed the MM.

HT4060 Are you supposed to see the green battery icon on the ipad 4's lock screen while charging?

I've seen it on other apple devices, but not on mine. Is that normal? I would like to be able to see it.

As far as I know, iPads don't show the battery icon while it's being charged. It just only shows for a few seconds when you plug it to the charger, but then it disappears and you can only see your battery icon at the top right of the screen

TS1909 so its normal if the battery is at 99% and the charger is indicating full charge?

i usually drain my battery daily and plug it in the charger before i sleep. But when i wake up i notice the battery plug is green (which is full charge) but when i check my battery % status, at the status bar it says its 99% with a full charge. When charging, battery indicator not moving, it is just staying red

1. i have new imac at the office with latest software. when i have connected the camera it worked perfect no problem.
