Never seen Import Error Message .....

New one to me. I'm trying to import some 4:3 SD video that I took several years ago into my HD project. Short 8 to 10 second B roll clips. I get this error message:
The original clip is an .avi clip so I saved it and then converted the copy to a .mpg2 clip. Still no success.
I did a search and found info about pixel size. These are 640X480 clips. How could they be too big ?

It seems you happened across a blocked or restricted area of the site. Although not a user I get the same message. Contacting the site administrator may offer a more comprehensive answer.

What I'm trying to do is migrate a new pagegroup into a target site. I've gone through the process and added all of the external objects to to transport site.

What is the red x refering to that you reference? I'm currently having the problem that you describe. The local provider imported successfully, but the page group I was trying to import failed to import.

Cannot import .mts files from SD card. Never received an error message before, but now it is telling me that DVD content is protected, which it is not.

I always import video files, every week, from an SD card (.mts file) no problem. All of a sudden today I'm getting an error message about the content (says "DVD" contact) is likely protected, which it is not.

What happens if, instead of using your operating system to move the files from the card, you leave your card in the camcorder, attach the camcorder to your computer via USB, then use Add Media/From Flip or Camera to open the Video Importer to get the video from the camcorder to your computer (as teh computer's instructions suggest)?

Import error message

I am getting an error message: Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file" when I attempt to re-import some previously edited (in Elements) jpgs into the Elements editor. I have re-named these files outside of Elements but the Organizer had no problem importing them. There are 11 jpgs and when I try to re-edit them in editor 5 of them will not open and get this message. They are jpgs.....so I am a bit confused of why the editor cannot read them. Please help. Sometimes the JPG metadata gets corrupted just enough so that PSE chokes on the file, even though other apps can open it. Open the files in another program, such as XnView and save it from that program. That will re-write the metadata correctly.

Import error message "-4960"

Using iMovie 4. I have already done this movie, from video clips from my camcorder. I have saved the clips, put them on an external drive, but now I had to bring them back onto my desktop to make another version. Some of the clips will import, but most will not, giving me an error message "-4960". I can't find an explanation in the Support section. Does anybody know what happened to make those clips unimportable?

What is the file format used on the external drive?
Some Windows formats only allow a 4GB file size or lower.
You may need to reformat the drive using Disk Utility.

Import Error Message continually

I recently updated with the Apple automatic updates. My Iphoto worked just fine until this update and this may simply be a coincidence but now when I try to import photos from my camera, I get an error message. Its the same camera, same hard drive same old same old.
2007-04-01 18:42:23.307 iPhoto[1130] An error occurred while trying to save your photo library. Some recent changes may be lost. Make sure your hard disk has enough space and that iPhoto is able to access the iPhoto Library folder.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name, long or short, in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. See if this won't let you continue. Also run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions (this if for application and system files).
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. How can I get rid of files that cannot be imported error message

Hello, this is my first post. I am a new mac user. I have imported my jpgs from an external hard drive which was in the most part successful, however, 14 of the files appear to be corrupted and every time I open iphoto9, I get the error message, '14 of your files could not be imported, would you like to import them now?' I have tried choosing both options yes and no and it then writes error message telling me it has created recovered photos folder. When you go to this folder it is empty and every time I restart iphoto, I get the same message. I have tried deleting all the files and re-importing only to find that the number of corrupted files has now doubled. I have also deleted the iphotos library recovered photo folders to no avail. I have tried creating a new library and importing the files to that but the same problem occurred. How can I get rid of this repeated error as I am now up to recovered folder number 47! Help!

Welcome to the Apple user to user assistance forums
quit iPhoto and right click (control click) on the iPhoto library (in the pictures folder by default) and select the show package contents command - find the import (or importing) folder and drag it to the desktop and launch iPhoto - you should be fine now - open the import(ing) folder on your desktop and if there are any photos you want import them then trash the folder

Error message, stating unable to import contact data - this vcard cannot be imported as it contains invalid contact data. I've checked but no good. Please help!

A .cwk file is a ClarisWorks database file, I believe. Problem is, ClarisWorks hasn't existed for a long time. It's possible that Filemaker might be able to open them, as I believe Filemaker used to be a Claris product. I don't know what else might be able to open such a file these days.

Has anyone seen this error message before?

We have a server running Windows 2008 R2 which we have built as a demo environment for P6 R8.3 EPPM. It was upgraded to R8.3 SP1 late last year, and has just been sitting idling in between being used for product demonstrations.
Recently I decided to let Windows Update apply a bunch of patches to the OS and the SQL Server instance running on the box - today when a colleague and I logged in to EPPM we kept getting a popup window every 10 seconds or so in front of the main portlet windows, headed "message from webpage", with the message

This happens if we access the application using IE; it does not happen if we use Chrome - can anyone offer any suggestions what might be causing it? There is nothing related to AdfAgent or AdfIE8Agent in the Oracle KB at the moment

On the server where P6 + WebLogic are installed, it's IE 11
On my client PC, it's IE 11 as well
I am pretty sure that that the problem has only started since IE11 appeared, but that may be wishful thinking. I have tried clearing everything from the browser cache, with no difference in behaviour. I have also tried setting the emulation mode to IE8 but that didn't seem to make a difference either.
I have restarted the P6 web app several times, and cannot see any errors in the WebAccessLog.html except for a occasional minor one related to Struts - certainly nothing that seems related to ADF directly.
Whatever the issue is, Chrome is not affected, and I have now installed it on the server as well where it is working fine.

Anybody seen this error message?

I recently replaced the internal HD on my G4 Quicksilver tower and get this error message when I dock my iPod (40GB with click wheel):
"The system extension /System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext/Contents/Plugins/iPodFireWireTranspo rtSupport.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update."
Things I've tried:
1.) Updated iPod software and iTunes.
2.) Deleted the extension from the Library. I dragged it to the trash, but it didn't actually delete. The next time I fired up iTunes I didn't get the error message, but I have ever since.
This error is more of an annoyance and doesn't seem to affect the docking process and the transfer of music from iTunes to my iPod.
But still.
Anybody have a similar problem and a solution. Thanks in advance

You should certainly be alarmed. Well, sorta actually this might prevent you from making any changes, but other than that you should be fine, but fix it. Is there a dump file created? Are there any other processes going down?
