I really hate mac's right now, were suppose to be the best system in the world, huh! I have had such problems in the past 4 days, I have been on these boards for the past 4 days and posted several topics and nothing has worked. Quicktime 7.3 is the worst thing that I have ever come across. I'm using final cut pro 4.5 h.d on my ibook g4 and wanted to download the latest qt, now I can only capture up to 2 minutes until it freezes, then I was told to put the old version back which is qt. 6.5 and it wont load because it still sees the new version which is 7.3. I was told the only way to reload qt 6.5 is to reload my operating system which I did, then I downloaded the 6.5 and guess what? ya the 7.3 is STILL in MY SYSTEM and it wont leave. I'm at my wits end right now and I really hate apples right now.

Don't get me started on Final Cut Pro! You definitely want to stick with FCP 4.5 as long as you can.
It does seem that Apple software is slipping down a slippery slope. Unfortunately, I can't boycott Apple because the alternatives are worse. I hope Apple can get it's quality control back on track.
It seems like a system install should have brought you back to the original version of Quicktime, but maybe you need to do a clean install. That would be a lot of work for little gain.

Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then setup iCloud with your new ID.
You can't change the Apple ID for your iCloud account, you have to delete it.

Sorry, but Boost reportedly does not offer unlocking for iPhones, so you're stuck with them unless you can return the iPhone for a refund and cancel the service, or can sell the iPhone to someone who could use it with Boost.

The IOS 6 updates in find my iphone app is horrible. I was using IOS 5 on my iphone till I got a note in apps to update to IOS 6, I thought it would be good, but it changed all my apps, and I do not like it.

The IOS 6 updates for findmy iphone does not work as well as IOS 5 app. It will not let you update your location when you tap the refresh arrow. So tired of it telling me that my iphone is offline when it is never off. The IOS 5 was great and it worked so much better then the IOS 6. Not only have find my iphone app changed but all my apps changed when I downloaded the IOS 6 update. If I knew that I would not get the same apps back as they are now, I would put my iphone back to factory settings. But my fast updates on my computer are IOS 6.

On my machine I just hit shift-command-j (the keyboard shortcut I assigned in System Preferences) and a list of the sheets in the current document pops up:
I type a number from the list and jump immediately to that sheet. The hands never have to leave the keyboard.
(This particular document had a sheet named for each month. But the sheets in your document automatically will be listed instead.)
This is done via a Jump to Sheet Automator Service (Dropbox download). To install just doubleclick the .workflow package and (if needed) click 'Download Anyway' in System Preferences > Privacy & Security.
Installation will cause a new item to appear in your Numbers > Services menu. Then, if you want a keyboard shortcut, go here in System Preferences and add one:
You can rename or remove the service by holding down the option key in Finder and choosing Go > Library > Services. You can also view the AppleScript contaned within the service by opening the .workflow package in Automator.
Note, also, that in Numbers 3 you don't have to use those left-right arrows upper right to slowly scroll left-right to the sheets that are out of view. Just move your cursor up to the "band" with the "tabs" and drag left or right. That's much faster than using the arrows.

Thought I already asked this, but don't see it. Want to know what the "Render" feature is for and how you use it.

I've watched several of the tutorials. I was able to upload a video yesterday to YouTube, but today, I made a new video, and after three tries, never could get it to upload. Kept getting an error asking if I wanted to TRY AGAIN.
As I was editing my video, the sound never seemed to work right with the video. The video would freeze, and the sound would keep going. Strange. I figured I needed to push "Render", but have no idea what it does. Can't find a tut on it.
Any help will be much appreciated. I have six versions of PS, and I have never been able to get videos to upload to YouTube except for the one I got to go yesterday. Failure today.

Big question. After you pressed the Render button and the Timeline rendering was completed, did the video portion play back better in the Edit area monitor?
Timeline rendering is just a preview feature. It does not fix a problem. It is the program telling you if you are viewing the best possible preview that the project has to offer. The program uses a color indicator line over the Timeline content to tell you if you are seeing the best possible preview.
No color line or green line = you are seeing the best possible preview, no Timeline rendering needed or available. In this condition, if you hit the Render button, all you will do is play back the Timeline content in the monitor...no Timeline Rendering. An orange line over the Timeline content is the program telling you that you do not have the best possible preview and in order get that you need do Timeline rendering. You can do that
a. pressing the Render button above the Timeline area
b. going to Timeline Menu/Render Work Area or use the shortcut for that, just press the Enter Key of the computer main keyboard.
You do not have to do Timeline rendering, but it is your window of opportunity to catch a problem sooner than later. It is particularly indicated
when for titles, effects, transitions, and non native formats.
And, if you are getting the orange line over content suggesting that you do Timeline rendering, you can select the area where you
want the rendering done under that orange line.....you set the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar to span the area that you want rendered.
Also, the process of Timeline rendering deposits preview files on your hard drive automatically. These preview fields for a SD project are DV AVI files (whether you render a still or video file) and for HD project are MPEG2.mpg files (whether you render a still or video file). You should keep watch for pile ups of those preview files if you are getting in a free hard drive space crunch.

I never thought I would miss concurrent manager....

Hi,
I have an 11g database and I want to develop similar functionality to the concurrent manager that Oracle applications has.
I am okay with scheduling, dynamic SQL, updating job statuses, parent queueing etc etc etc...
But where I am scratching my head is how to be able to run sql*plus scripts.
Is it possible to =>
1. From pl/sql launch a sql*plus script - where the script is held in a table in a very large varchar2
2. Capture its output
3. Capture its success / failure state
I am not looking for anyone to write this for me(!) - just for a brief push in the right direction on what I would need to put together.

One possible approach can be
1. Read the table and write the script into a file
2. Invoke OS command from pl/sql (may be with help of stored JAVA procedure) to run the script in sqlplus and redirect the out put to a log file You may generate a shell script dynamically to make the task easier.
3. Instead of using JAVA stored procedure invoke the OS command by using DBMS_SCHEDULER.

IOS5 - Well I just thought I would say that I am the biggest mug in the world with technology and I just did the IOS5 update without any trouble what so ever and everything is working perfectly and I have lost nothing !

I have the Harmonn Kardon series 1 sound sticks....
Can I get a USB to 3.5mm stereo Jack plug to output to these speakers. They are powered through their own power supply but the 1st series used a USB connector to connect to the PC????
I have seen them on ebay, from china for a £1 or so... supposedly carrying power and data. I assume the Harmonn Kardon cable is data only as the power is received through its own separate power supply. Would this cable do any damage?
I asked this question 4 years ago and got the same response....ZILCH I did a search 4 years ago and found the same question asked by another ..... response for them was the same ZILCH!.
Does no-one have any ideas...am I the only person in the world who wants to keep these speakers but have them work with new kit????

Jiri.... I am glad you brought this up... it may keep it alive....BECAUSE... I bought one of those 3.5mm jack to USB cables off ebay (2 infact) and a USB adaptor female to female and it did not work!!!
So what the connectivity issues are I do not know??

The USB input in to the original SoundSticks requires the USB standard “BUS” type of data to function correctly. This means that any adaptor would have to supply a USB driver programme (USB 1.1 not higher), a mixed audio stream (left and right) and a way controlling the volume of the SoundSticks. The SoundSticks do not require the 5 volt signal that USB can also supply.
We have looked at a number of 3.5mm to USB (female socket- it has in this pin order) connecters in the past but so far none of these match the requirements needed.
I hope that these details help, but should have any additional questions please feel free to ask at any time.

So you can see that the adaptors I purchased were probably USB 2 ...... how you get round that is beyond me.
If you findout however, or If this helps Allan persue this a little further, then that would be great. I have 2 sets of these amazing speakers and I cannot use them where I would wish to... so sad.

Very simple scenario.
I put three buttons into HBox and align to right. And these buttons may be hidden in some cases, but the left one won't occupy the position of the hidden button.
Must I remove this button besides setting visible to false?

Hello everyone.
I just got my first BB the other day and as a matter of fact my first real phone in like 4 years. So its all quite overwhelming even for a technical guy like myself. Im in Canada and chose Rogers but the phone itself is not Rogers. Things i have come to realize: I can't seem to watch youtube video, no images in my email (gmail or otherwise) , msn works intermittently. I think i need to update the phone OS in order for the youtube and rich email to work so I am kinda reading up on that. Anyways I look forward to sucking as much info i can from these forums so far they look quite helpful. Be reading you!

The update did not do anything.
AT&T cannot and will not do anything, they do not provide support for iPhones, Apple does.
The issue is not with the iPhone or iOS if you've reset network settings and tried forgetting the Wi-Fi Network, it is specific to the network.
Check the settings on the router, try disabling the security settings first... that will clarify the issue is not with the device but rather the Network.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I reboot my computer, wiping everything clean and reinstalling programs. iphoto did not install and I don't know why. I thought I would just purchase the download, but it says that I need to chose an application to open it. What so I do?
