Neverending Update?

I'm currently attempting to install the new WTP preview build (9860) using the local admin account of my machine and it seems the installation never finishes. Any thoughts? No error messages are shown, it simply never ends.

Hi Shuurajou,
Check your time on your computer, for example the current time is
10.28.2014 15:38:42, we can go to C: \$WINDOWS.~BT\Source\panther, find the setupact.log, if the installation goes background, we can see if the action is performed in the meantime:
 2014-10-28 15:38:09, Error
[0x0808fe] MIG    Plugin {ee036dc0-f9b7-4d2d-bb94-3dd3102c5804}: BRIDGEMIG: CBrgUnattend::CollectBridgeSettings failed: 0x1, 0
If so, we can see the installation goes background.

  • Problems with 7.0 or 7.0.1?  Try this...

If you are having problems with:
    -Slow CD importing
    -Slow syncing
    -Neverending updates
    -Failure to recognize iPod
Try minimizing the iTunes window to the Windows taskbar right after you initiate any of the above actions. My guess is that this is going to fix A LOT of people's problems. Okay, maybe not fix, but it might be a temporary workaround until Apple gets these bugs out.
IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU PLEASE REPOND TO THIS THREAD AND LET ME KNOW! If this works for enough people maybe Apple will adequately address this problem.
It worked for me and a couple of other people. See thread started at: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3130876#3130876
    Windows XP Pro

I have recently solved my problem, which may help.
Everything is working great in IE once I upgraded to QuickTime 7.0.4, but my problem was with Firefox, my prefered browser. I too was getting the QuickTime symbol with the question mark, so here's what I did.
    1. Made sure that in the QuickTime Settings-Browser-MIME Settings-Miscellaneous-Flash Media was set to 'off', 'unchecked'.
    2. I had the latest version of Flash Player installed (version 8.0.22.0).
    3. Closed Firefox
    4. Opened Firefox
    5. Yippeee!!
    Hopefully this'll work for you.

  • Muse installation/update neverending story

I have CC subscription, and all the products works well ... except for MUSE!!
First I was unable to install Muse, when I started to install it the program was installend on the machine ... but nowhere
So I found a possible solution, by:
    - closing CC
    - uninstalling Muse
    - uninstalling Adobe Air
    - cleaning the registry for any problematic entry
    - downloaded from here http://www.adobe.com/go/muse_latest_win the latest installer
    - reinstalling Muse
At this time the program run but there are few problems:
    - in the CC/Apps panel Muse is still not installed, if I install Muse from there the program is reinstalled ... but it isn't anywhere, so I have to restart from beginning!
    - as soon as I start Muse a splash screen says there is an update (april 2, 2014) with "install now" or "install later", if I click on "install now", the progress bar start and at the end the program simply close; at the next restart of the program the splash screen with the same information appear again, and again and again
Please, do something radical to this program to fix this mess, we are paing every month for this.

  • Updating Issues. Windows 7. Adobe frustration is neverending.

Windows 7 CC user. I can't update to the latest AE or PS versions. CC claims they are up to date when they are clearly not. Adobe Application Manager claims that only Prelude can update automatically.
When I manually grab the updates from Adobe I get an error saying I can't update (12.2 for AE for example). Very frustrating and customer support is anemic at best. I'm sorry to be so negative, but this is getting a bit ridiculous.
Anyone have any ideas or experienced anything similar?
    Thanks,
    Chris

You will have to run teh Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and start from scratch. Tho9se obstructions come from updates that introduce compatibility issues with shared components. Of course it's a mess, but well, Adobe may learn one of those days...

  • Gripe about Camera Raw Update & Adobe in General

I love what Adobe products do, but hate the rigamorale you have to go through to get them to work.
I bought a new Canon T2i and it wasn't supported.  So I tried updating.  The Adobe Application Updates manager doesn't work.  I then tried the installer.  It fires up the Adobe Application Updates Manager which didn't work.  I uninstalled CS5, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted and it still doesn't work.  Finally got it to work.  I found & got the zip file & replaced the old "Camera Raw.8bi" at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats.
In retrospect though I spent several hours working on this and got angrier and angrier at Adobe as my morning progressed.  I noted that this issue (updating Camera Raw) is at the top of Adobe's list of support problems.
Several years ago Netscape sued Microsoft because IE was bundled with the OS and, thus, Netscape couldn't compete on a level playing field.  One of Microsoft's counter arguments was that a user could uninstall IE.  The process was so convoluted that the judge rejected Microsoft's argument.
Getting Adobe software to work is very time consuming and convoluted.  We buy the tools for workflow productivity then have to deal with the getting them to work in the first place.  And to add insult to injury, after paying through the nose for our software, Adobe charges us for support for their mistakes.  And this is the third crash I've experienced in 6 months.  I'm a struggling, sole owner, photographer and resent the time sink that dealing with Adobe software involves.
Adobe, are you listening?  I don't think I'm the only customer ticked off at these neverending problems.
Microsoft Sharepoint Designer 2010 no longer supports ftp.  As a replacement I was thinking of replacing my Microsoft Sharepoint Designer 2007 with Dreamweaver.  After my experience with Photoshop I'm going to hobble along on Microsoft Sharepoint Designer 2007 as long as I can and hope Microsoft adds ftp to future products or a good alternative to Adobe and Microsoft exists.

The version of ACR indicated in LR's help/about is the version of the RAW engine internal to LR, and not the version of ACR you actually have installed for Photoshop.
What does CS4 / Help / About Plug-ins / Camera RAW say the version is? And are there two versions of Camera RAW listed in the About Plug-ins.
Maybe there are multiple versions of ACR installed and LR is finding an old one, or perhaps LR is opening a file that was originally opened in a prior version of ACR/LR and LR can tell this by looking at the XMP or the LR database so is warning it may not be compatible even though it probably wouldn't matter. I don't have a Mac nor CS4, yet, so can only guess.

  • Trouble with camera roll, pic transfer to iPhoto since update to ios 5.

since I updated to ios 5; when I take a picture it goes to the bottom left corner as before but when I click on it, it opens and shows a 'saving' icon that never goes away. I now have 'albums' that show 'camera roll' and 'photo stream' but neither of these show up in my iPhoto when i connect my phone to my Mac. I am running iPhone4 with ios5 and iPhoto 8.1.2

I turned off photo stream and now if I take a picture it doesn't go into old camera roll where all my other pics are ... it has created another camera roll that only appears from the camera screen and I am unable to do anything with them...when I touch the screen it starts the 'neverending save icon'...help!

  • Updated iOS, now stuck in a perpetual restore cycle.

So I start up iTunes this morning to update my podcasts. I update and i connect my iPod to sync them. It says I have an update for the iOS. So I go through the process and let it reboot. Now I have been in a seemingly neverending cycle of attempting to restore, getting a "Preparing iPod for restore" on Windows iTunes, and eventually getting an error window with a 1604 error code. Nothing seems to fix the issue. If anyone can't give me a fix, looks like I will have to venture to the Apple Store tomorrow. *sigh* Great work idiots at Apple!

    Error 1604 is covered here:
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
But the restore loop is also pointing into this direction:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please followTroubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.

  • Neverending Reboot loop

Hello I have a real weird problem,
I've updated my Tiger 10.4.11 to Leopard 10.5.1 and now in an neverending reboot loop. My MacBook (2Ghz Core Duo, 2 GB Ram) starts, then I get a grey screen with Apple Logo, then after 2 minutes, the computer reboots and so one....
To stop this (infinite) reboot loop I need to put the Leopard DVD in the drive and wait for an unknown time of reboots to finally get the login screen. After that I can log in and use Leopard without any problem.
I have no clue, what is going wrong, I've checked the Startupitems ( none, deactivated the Time Machine)and reset PRAM several times...
I'm really upset because I really don't know why the MacBook is rebooting and needs the Leopard DVD to correctly boot ???
Thanks a lot for your help !

You have to stop here. Never modify an OS that is not working properly!
Install of Leopard with Update 10.5.2 : endless boot loop
Sometimes "You need to restart your computer" message
OK, we knew it would not help.
Clean install of Tiger: works wonderful
Clean install of Tiger + Upgrade to Leopard : endless boot loop
Something is wrong with one or more of your Tiger apps.
Once started (after a random number of minutes, going from 5 to 20 minutes of reboot loops) Leopard works without any problem and is very fast.
    Bad RAM???
I bought my MacBook in June 2006 and it has 2Ghz and 2 GB Ram. Apple Hardware Check was also ok.

I'm really disappointed. It seems as if Leopard can't boot correctly with early MacBooks !
What else could I do ?
Sounds like RAM going bad or a HD going bad.
You have done marvelous sleuthing. I am quite sure you have some kind of marginal hardware problem that does not show up all the time. Beware that Leopard is a very demanding system on hardware. Is all your RAM from Apple?

  • Tecra M9-136 - BSOD during Vista SP2 update

Tecra M9-136 asked this morning to update to Vista SP2 and during the process the BSOD 0x0000007E arrived. Restarted in Safe Mode and the installer continued and then finally reported that the update had failed - and reverted to SP1. This took most of the morning.
It will start in Safe Mode but on a normal boot-up, Vista SP1 gets through the fingerprint recognition and then fails with the same BSOD (it doesn't get as far as displaying the desktop).
The laptop has BIOS level 1.80. I've tried in Safe mode to install 1.90 but it tells me that the battery has insufficient charge and the power adapter isn't attached. Both untrue.
Stuck - need advice. Could this be a hard fault? Can't see how I can update anything if it's a soft fault.
    thanks

The message with the BSOD mentioned checking BIOS and driver versions. Anyway, no change made to that.,
I tried System Restore but the only available restore point was the SP2 installation. I thought Vista was supposed to save a restore point every 24 hours even if nothing new had been installed.

  • Cannot open and update IPhoto after upgrading to OXYosemite

From the App store, I downloaded and installed OXYosemite. There are 2 more updates available: iPhoto and iMovie. When I try to upload them, the notice I get is "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID  This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
I have 2 apple IDs when I inquire about my ids. Signing in App Store with either of them, doesn't resolve the problem. I get the same notice. iTunes, Mac, mobile downloads, all use the same apple IP, only for the computer downloads from App Store isn't working.
    What should I do?
    Thanks, Sev

  • Error message: "playlists selected for updating no longer exist"

I tried to update my ipod nano and I guess I had deleted a playlist, but since then, I have not been able to update. Every time I try, I get the following message:
"Cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist."
I haven't been able to highlight which playlists are selected to begin with.
I read through the manual and thought that maybe rebooting the whole system might work. So I deleted Itunes from my computer and re-installed.
Then I tried re-setting my ipod. So now I have nothing on my ipod.
I also deleted everything from my library, thinking it might help to start from scratch. Nothing has worked.
How do I "select" and "unselect" playlists so I can get up and running again?

  • Error message iPod cannot update b/c all of the playlists no longer exist

Hello. I have been getting this error message. "Songs on the iPod "MAR(the name of my iPod)" cannot update because all of the playlists selecting for updating no longer exist." And my playlists are still on the left side in my iTunes. They do exist. I have a feeling ths might have to do with the fact that on vacation the person I was visiting gave me a gift of putting all of his music that would fit into the external hard drive part of my iPod, and for the past week or so I have been putting that music onto my 40 GB portable hard drive at home. I suspect I took a vital folder out of my iPod by accident. Right now I have the folder iPod_control if I open my iPod up in My Computer. Am I missing something? Right now my iPod is empty because iTunes made a composite playlist last week and I deleted it thinking I could get my real playlists back. Can you help me, or reccomend a site/someone who can? Thank you.

    hiya!
And my playlists are still on the left side in my iTunes. They do exist.
let's just doublecheck this. folks get this message if they have "automatically update selected playlists only" selected in their itunes "ipod" preferences tab. so bring up that tab ("edit > preferences", click "ipod" while the ipod is showing up in the source list), and do a playlist by playlist crosscheck of the playlists selected in that tab, and the playlists showing up in the itunes sourcelist.
is there any playlist selected in the preferences tab that isn't showing up in the sourcelist?

  • Video IPOD no longer recognized by Itunes and wont Update

This is a long complicated issue. My Ipod has been working flawlessly until 2 weeks ago. Someone tried to plug it up to their computer to charge it and it wiped out my library and added their library. At first i was thinking no big deal, i will just reconnect it with my computer and it will load my library back on. However once connected to my computer it is not recognized by itunes. So i did a reset , which seemed to be working great and it started "updating" about 80% through that process it gave me an error message that says " This disc can not be written to or written from" now I have no idea why it would say that? and although it seems completely wiped out and useless, it still shows that much memeory is missing in the "about ipod" screen on the ipod. So i know the information is there somewhere , somehow?... Anyway I dont know what to do, Does anybody have any suggestions?
Oh and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Itunes program to make sure it is up to date. WOuld adding new songs to my library have caused this problem?

    1. Try Resetting the iPod. Hold Select and Menu for 6-10 seconds - until you see the Apple Symbol.
    2. Use iPod Updater to restore your iPod to factory settings.
See if those two steps clear up your problem.

  • Error during OS 4.2 update; Ipod no longer recognized by windows or itunes;

I've had my 3G 8gb since last Feb and never updated the OS (3.1.3). Yesterday I tried updating to 4.2. (OS: Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium; iTunes: 10.1.1.4) There was an error (unfortunately did not make a note of). Now my ipod touch is stuck in "Recovery Mode" and cannot be seen by Windows or iTunes. Windows does detect new hardware but when I browse for the drivers, I get the error "Could not find driver software" after I pointed exactly where it was located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. I've tried removing all Apple software from my computer and then reinstalling iTunes but I get the same results. I don't know what else to try. Any ideas? Thanks!

I found a solution last night through http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538. But thank you for trying. The worst part was that I was doing the right thing all along but I think there is a bug in Vista (or I don't understand why I couldn't do it the way I was). On the window that appears after I clicked "Browse my computer for driver software", there are 2 options. The first says "Browse for driver software on your computer" which has an edit box under it and a "Browse" button next to the edit box which allows you to pick the parent directory that driver is in. The second option says "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". I knew where the drivers were so I was doing option one and it would not work (many repeated attempts after re-installing iTunes, etc.) - VERY FRUSTRATING. But now I'm up and running!!!
