New 16g 4S overheated and died in 30 days, anyone else?
First problem within 10 days, sprint full reset, at 30 days phone got very hot and died completely. Sprint will not take phone back, apple cannot even guarantee overnight delivery.
Anyone else with same problem and disapointment with apple products?
No apple store in my area. I ordered an other phone thru apple since sprint service is below grade but they are not able to guarantee overnight delivery even when your are willing to pay $30.00 for overnight service.
Very concerned about the phone getting very hot and dying.

Hi, apologees if this post seems long, but i would like to tell you everything i know to get the best possible advice.
Firstly i have the following hardware plugged into my "MSI K8N Neo Platinum Nforce3 250 SKT 754 SATA GIGBIT LAN 7.1 Sound Retail Box" :-
An AMD 3400+ 64bit 754 pin processor
1Gig DDR 400 ram (2 sticks)
Radeon 9600 XT Graphics Card
anouther 5.1 sound card (PCI)
A 120Gb IDE western digital hard disk
A 250Gb SATA western digital hard disk
IDE DVD-RW drive
Couple of USB devices running from the computer
Windows XP
All of the above are in a cheap computer case with a 500 Watt PSU.
The weirdest thing is that my motherboard has been working fine for a good year (it has been running all of the above for at least 4 months now). Then, a day ago I was working on my computer and must have stopped at about 10 pm to watch some TV, leaving the computer on behind me, monitor switched off. Please bare in mind the computer was left idle (running Windows XP, no screensaver).
Half an hour must have passed and the computer SUDDENLY switched off. I thought "hmm, odd" and, being the idiot i am, did not check for any kind of overheating before switching the computer back on. So i switched it back on for a couple of seconds, only to hear a horrible noise (god knows where that came from). Of course I then instantly tried to turn the computer off by holding the power switch, sadly nothing happened (motherboard didnt respond) .
And so i had to turn the PC off at the switch. I new something was seriously wrong at this point, and so i pulled the case side off and checked each and every heat sinked chip for overheating of any sort. Of course im not a human thermometer but after feeling each one i found that the Processor seemed to be at normal running temperature, as well as the RAM and graphics card sinks (the PSU was also fine). I then decided to feel the rather large goldlooking "MSI" heatsink on the motherboard...
That thing was seriously hot!!!!!
And so i left the PC for about half an hour to fully cool down. I now turn my PC on and all i get is a flashing power LED, on and off every second or so (obviously the motherboard is well and truly dead now). So, three questions,
1) I take it the motherboard is the device at fault?
2) Do you think any other components may have been broken whilst the board overheated? (i just dont want to get a new motherboard replacement and find that my pc still doesnt work, or even worse, my new motherboard dies) .
3) Has this happened to anyone else?

Well ive tried booting the motherboard just connected to the PSU, front panel (power LED, speaker and such) and processor (and fan). That gave me the flashing LED still . From my experience with other motherboards you can boot them with nothing in and still acheive beeps and such. Really the CPU fan should whirr in this scenario if it works, but it doesnt . I cant be overloading either PSU with this setup can I ??! -

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if it that fixes it ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot. If not then try restoring to your last backup (after, if you can, copying purchases over to your computer's iTuNes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, and copying any important documents and/or photos off it)
If that doesn't fix it then you might be better off asking in the Using iPod forum on here, this forum is for questions about the iTunes store. -

If you have a backup on iCloud or iTunes you would not have lost all your data, the update went fine on my phone and my wifes and many others. On forums you dont see the millions of users saying it went well, just the few with issues. If you had no backup thats not Apples fault, thats yours. The same will happen whatever platform you go to if you dont back your data up.

Well, if they have truly disappeared then something is really messed up. For really messed up stuff, you need to set it to factory default condition, and then afterwards, restore it from your backup.

I have installed OS X Mavericks on macbook pro, macbook air & iMac but I am having terrible trouble with apple Mail. I need to take all accounts online frequently OR worse I have to quit mail and restart computer. Is anyone else having problems?
I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As". So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail. I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
Here's what I know:
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update. None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them. This is maddening! What can be done? Apple?? Anyone??? -

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

By what time zone does Verizon use to log data usage? When I checked my current usage, there is data used logged in at early morning times and I don't have anyone else who is up at these times. I also have 1.8+ GB charged to my allowance that I don't understand at all how it is mine because the highest I've ever logged at any given time has been barely 0.5 GB. I'm cruising along at .04-.07 GB and all of a sudden appears a 1.8+ GB deduction/usage and it makes me wonder what the ???? is going on. Is Verizon posting fraudulent usage amounts just to drive up my usage so I have to buy more Gigs?
The time is not the time of actual use, but the time a tower reports the use. The data would have been used anytime prior to that time. Usually, but no always, the usage happened between the time prior and the time reported.
For example:
9:00 AM 1.23 MB
7:05 AM 0.01 MB
1:15 AM 350.03 MB
8:00 PM 23.89 MB
This does not indicate 350 MB was used at 1:15 AM. It really tell you 350 MB was used sometime between 8:00 PM and 1:15 AM.
The times are local time zone as far as I can tell. -
I just finished my multi-device upgrade to iOS X. Now, Keynote freezes and is basically dysfunctional. Anyone else have this problem?
What did you upgrade? There is no such thing as iOS X, there is iOS and OS X. iOS is for iphones, ipads, and ipods and OS X is the Mac operating system.

I received an Keynote update notice on my Mac Air. I updated and now can not get into my saved keynote docs. I am being asked to upgrade again and purchase the upgrade. Anyone else having this issue?
Try this repair, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, use Appcleaner from Mac Update to do this, its freeware
2 restart the Mac; Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

New iPhone 5s Overheating and Losing Battery Life
I just received the new iPhone 5s, and it's been on for all of 30 minutes, during which I restored the phone via iCloud backup and reinstalled my apps, etc. In these 30 minutes, the phone overheated and dropped down to 40% battery. Any reason as to why this happened? I've already closed all the apps that were open, locked it, and put it in to charge.
Had the same issue.
- I was running on low battery. So I killed all the apps and put 5S to sleep with 19% battery.
- After a while an alert popup of a low battery sign of 10% came. I forgot to hit OK.
- After a few minutes when I picked up the 5S it was terribly hot with battery showing 1%.
What paopaowell describes is not causing the massive battery drain. The one time location checking (GPRS) starts the GPS for a second or two and then turns it off. That won't cause the massive battery drain. -
After updating to IOS8, my iPad 2, which has both AT&T cellular and wifi, needs to be completely turned off and rebooted to get cellular service. Does anyone else have this issue ?

First, quit all running applications and test again -
