New 20" ACD is old!

I recently purchased a 20 inch ACD in 11/2007 from John Lewis UK.
On searching forums for something else, I discovered that you can determine the age of your display from the serial.
My serial is xx627, which I believe is 27th Week of 2006.
My question's are - how often is the ACD updated? Is mine out of date? Do you think I can do anything about it?

Really, the "versions", as I gather, are more about production runs. One could argue, and correctly, that the ACD hasn't changed since 2004 release. But, as production series are released, users have seen slight differences in the display characteristics of the ACD, as compared to earlier runs.
Usually, most people are looking for a major revision, like when the ACD changed from polycarbonate housing to aluminum housings. Add to that desired features, like a built-in web cam, higher response rates, different back lighting (LCD)- these would be the revisions that most are looking for.

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.
(Such convolution is worthy of Windows® in my estimation)

The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.)

You are allowed to have two activted installations, so if the first machine is the only machine with an activated installation there is nothing prohibiting you from installing and activating on the new machine.
You can contact Adobe Support thru chat to have the old installation deactivation.

How do I create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user

My computer got hit by lightening, and I may have created a new user account through netinfo rather than system preferences /accounts/+user. Mail used to open twice, but no longer. Now, Safari askes me for my keychain password twice, Spotlight can't find a folder on the computer when the search is restricted to folder and computer, though the folder is there and easyfind finds it, and when System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy has the hard drive icon added, then deleted, Spotlight still does not find anything. (Yes, everything is backed up, on CD, DVD, and online.) Microsoft Tec Support says

I believe Microsoft. So, creating a new user was easy.
But copying files uses up too much hard drive (movies, music), and may miss keychains, preferences, mail, address book, and documents. Since Spotlight no longer works, who knows what is happening. (Yes, I've repaired persmissions, and disk repair. No change). I'm using up my hard drive trying to move files to the new user. If I share files, or put them into a public folder, then delete the old user, will I still have the old user's files in the new user's account? It is not clear to me what I should be trying to do in order to create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user. Thanks.
My responses will be slow, because I have to drive to town to use the internet. I've ordered a new airport which may take care of that problem. SO be patient.

I need to do the EXACT same thing, but have no idea how. Has anyone out there done this?
My situation is a tad different..this is a new Mac (and I'm a brand new Mac user). Tons of querks occur under my original account (videos won't run, Safari won't support certain plug-ins). I spent 6 hours on the phone w/ 4 different Apple Reps and nobody could fix it. A rep finally looked at my MacBook Pro in person today. He created a new account just to see if that would work and under that new account, everything works perfectly fine (no querks, can view video). He tried switching a million settings in my original account to no avail.
He said to create a new account (as he did) and move my files over to the new account and then go back to the original and delete it. How do you do this?! I can't figure it out! I've got a new account created, but of course it just has the default folders in it w/ the little red icons next to them! Thanks in advance!

For your computer first get iTunes to see it by:

You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

I think iTunes thinks my new iPod is my old iPod and it's keeping me from syncing apps

I recently set up an iPod 5 to replace my iPod 4. The new one was my wife's that she never used and let me have it. So I restored it, tied it to my account, and I've been using it for a couple of weeks and a few days ago downloaded Tiny Death Star, which I've been enjoying.
However, ever since I downloaded it I have been unable to sync with my computer. I repeatedly get the "This iPod is no longer authorized for this app, do you want to authorize", error in iTunes then Iclick yes, then it asks over again and I can't sync anything else. So I deleted the game(sigh...) and everything worked fine again -- but when I try to "push" the app to my iPod from iTunes, it tells me that "tinydeathstar" is not compatible with my iPod -- which is absolutely incorrect. It is incompatible with my iPod 4 (there's some compass thing it needs?) but I downloaded it on my iPod 5 and it runs like a champ.
Tiny Death Star is the only app I have that won't run on an iPod 4. I think that's the issue with the syncing and the pushing -- iTunes thinks that my new iPod is the old iPod, and won't "allow" an app it thinks it is incompatible. To remedy this I've tried 1) doing everything from this support article : (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389), 2) restoring my iPod to factory settings 3) removing both devices from my account and re-adding only the new one and finally 4) uninstalling itunes and manually removing a bunch of registry stuff.
None of that worked.
So it isn't a huge issue for now. I just won't be able to sync my iPod for however long I play this game. But eventually more and more apps won't be compatible with an iPod 4 and I'll be in a pickle. I might have to rebuild my computer (sigh) just to get itunes to work again.
So, other than rebuilding my computer, any ideas?

My new one is a Windows 8 OS so I bought the 13 and downloaded it on the new laptop. Our desktop had died so I downloaded the 13 on the new desk computer also. Not thinking I downloaded 13 on my old laptop as I hope to get it patched up enough to be a backup for my photography. When I tried to activate it I realized that I had downloaded it too often. I didn't know you could only use it on two computers. Learn something new every day.. Any way I removed it and now my PSE 12 does not seem to be working. Now it could be something that I did or something that is an issue with the laptop. this laptop has all the previous editions on board as I always tried to update, except for the year I got a really good deal on Black Friday. I also notice that the new laptop has a copy of PSE 12 in the program list. To my knowledge I have never deactivated any of my PSE's except the extra 13 downloaded. Bottom line, do I need to go in and deactivate previous PSE versions and removed them from my computer? I could certainly use the space and secondly, can I deactivate the PSE 12 and then go back and reacitivate it and install it again on the old laptop or the desktop, whichever I deside would be the most appropriate place for the newer program. For the PSE 12 since it is an updater for 11, does the 11 still need to be on the laptop? thanks for anyone who can understand what I am trying to say and can advise me as to my next move. I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. First of all make sure that you've definitely backed up the movies to your external hard disc.
In iMovie click on any event you don't want, go to the file menu and select 'move event to trash'. Then do the same for any unwanted projects - 'move project to trash'. Quit out of iMovie and empty the trash.
