New 21" imac VESA mount

Does the new 21" IMac coming out this month have a VESA mount or is there an adapter for it?

Eric,
I found this on Apple's site, it is designed to work with current 27" iMacs.

  • Getting New 24" iMac - Can New Ones Use VESA Mount?

I've got a tall desk and my old 20" is a little too high so if I go with a 24", I'll need to position it a little better.
Do all 24" (old and new) iMacs accept a VESA mount? Any advice on doing this (tips, what to do, what NOT to do, etc)
    Thanks!
    Mark

The both new and old 24" models have a VESA mount adapter kit, according to their specs pages.

I believe this is still the same kit for the newer aluminum 24-inch iMacs.

  • Seeking a lightweight reclining stand(iMac vesa mount models)

Hi, I purchased a 21.5 iMac with the Vesa mount adapter assuming it would not be that hard to find a suitable reclining/retractable stand instead of a wall mount that can easily allow the user to obviously adjust these iMacs into a 90' 60' 30' viewing stance easily transporting the device throughout their home or office. I do have an HP all-in-one which does have a reclining stand/wall mount already installed but adds so much weight to the computer because it is also a wall mount  are there any suggestions out there or is Apple possibly working on offering such an accessory since releasing these vest mount options over a year ago

    Go to
    imac mount display
    google it.

  • IMac (late 2013) model with stand - can you get it changed to the vesa mount ?

I have a new iMac (late 2013) 27 inch - I would like to fit a vesa mount - if I take it to an Apple authorised repairer can they fit one and remove the stand?

A 3rd party VESA Mount Adapter is available for the 2013 27 iMac here:

  • Will the new (thin) iMacs have a VESA mount kit?

Will the new (thin) iMacs have a VESA mount kit?
I have my current iMac mounted on the wall, on an arm. It's the perfect setup for me. Will I be able to upgrade and keep this setup?

Looking through the tech specs, I couldn't find any mention of a mount:

  • Will my Apple VESA mount work with the new 27" iMac?

    Hi
I have an alu iMac 24", model: iMac7,1
I have the Apple VESA mount kit for it.
I have just ordered the new 27" iMac and I'm wondering if I can use the same VESA mount for the 27" when it arrives?
    Thanks
    /Martin

    Thanks for the reply.
    I'm not sure.
Is that the VESA mount that they have always had on the Apple Store for the 24" and now they have just added the 27" in the text, or is it a whole new VESA mount (which then is backwards compatible with the 24")?
I tried looking for an Apple support email address to ask this, but that seems hard to find.

  • Vesa Mount for New 27" iMac, does it exist?

    Hi,
Has anyone found a solution for mounting the new 27" iMac? The Vesa mount apparently doesn't fit the new computer.
    Thanks!

I found this but I don't have confirmation that it works, nor can I find out how to dissassemble my iMac to do so:

If anyone thinks this might work (or better still if you've tried it), please let me know.

  • Is the new iMac VESA mountable?

Can you remove the stand from the new iMacs and mount them on a wall with a VESA mounting bracket?
    Thanks,
    Kelly

As long as Apple has not changed the new 20" aluminum iMac's, the VESA mount for the G5 iMac is usable for the 20" Intel-based iMacs, because the stand is the same. The issue is that it isn't very user installable because it requires complete disassembly of the iMac to get to the inside of the casing to install the mount. This is a warranty killer. However, a guy who works in a computer lab has completed the process on about 15 to 20 iMacs back in 2006 when the Core Duos were first introduced.
You can do a search for the threads in this forum using VESA as the search word, All as the range and limiting the search to username Tostada.

  • Custom vesa mount late imac 2013 27"

    hi
    Let's say hypothetically
1 I can open Imac behind it, i see this screw i take them out, so the stand is out
2 i bought the vesa mount which works for previous version of Imac, i see the screw but the new imac screw is inside the back of the panel
3 I hire somebody at the metal/aluminium shop to measure up the adapter that would fit into the screw and make the screw just like the old imac thus it will give new room for the vesa mount to fit in
am I missing anything? Anybody out there expert to give me the inside behind the apple imac case panel
    thanks so much

  • How does one mount a VESA mount on a iMac 27"

How does one install a VESA mount on a 27" iMac and how long does it take to install it on the computer?

    den.thed,
Thank you.  I have 22 of these to mount on articulated arms and I had no idea of how long it would take to remove the leg and put the bracket on.  Like almost everything Apple, they make it fairly simple.

  • What are the actual dimensions of the new Thunderbolt Display without the stand (e.g., when using a VESA mount)?

I need to use the new Thunderbolt Display without the stand on a VESA mount, but before I order it I need to make sure it will fit height-wise in the allotted space.

The ThunderBolt display specs page has the same sizes listed as the 27" LED Cinema Display specs page (web archive).  I just measured my Cinema Display for you and the height of the display itself without the stand is 15 5/8".  However, you will need some additional space at the bottom for air flow intake.  These displays get hot and need proper ventilation so do not block the vents on the bottom.  Also the bottom vents are where the speakers are.
    Hope this helps.

  • Re-attach iMac stand after VESA mount

I've had my 24 iMac mounted with the VESA Mount kit. Now I need to re-attach the stand. I've tried following the instructions backwards, but when I get to the part with the access card, I can't get it to work. I'm afraid to use a lot of force, because I don't want to break something. I've had no luck googling this.
    Any clues?
    Thansk in advance.

Hi, I had same problem when I decided to replace my stand on 24in white Apple, after a lot of cursing I found that after replacing the screws etc you now have to place more pressure on the stand by pushing downwards before sliding the card in, I am assuming that you have the face of the computer laying face down on a soft cloth, give it a try, Robin u/k.

  • Universal Vesa mount made to fit 19" iMac - DIY

My monitorarm came with a 75mm vesa mount and an adapter plate to extend it to 100mm vesa. I rotated the 75mm part of de monitor arm 45 degrees. Then I pushed the 100mm plate behind the stand, also in a 45 degrees rotation. This way there are three screw holes visible. Two to the side, and one behind the hole in the stand. I layed the 75 mm vesa moutn attached to the arm on the outer side over the stand and then fixed three screws.
I didn't really have to tighten them much as it seems to clamp quite easily. This is by far the mnost elegant and yet the cheapest solution i know of, and invented by my self. Yeah, I'm proud!
If I kwew how to post an image, i would, seems impossible though. Well, if you wish to see how it looks, send me a messgage with your email details and I'll send you some pictures.

I just thought I would post the resolution to this issue, in case anyone needs to search this issue in the future.
The holes between the small bracket and the VESA adapter did not line up when I installed both.
However, I did some more searching and found someone who noticed the same issue, but got it to work.
In order to make it work ...
First attach the small bracket to the iMac/Display. (the one that requires all the small screws)
Then you have to attach the VESA adapter to the small bracket, which requires a single screw.
You have to torque the single screw down all the way, until it bottoms out.
When you do this, it pulls the small bracket up and in line with the VESA adapter.
I was reluctant to tighten this screw down so much, but it's the only way the holes will line up.
After doing so, I could then attach the final two screws to complete the installation.
The iMac is now mounted on the VESA adapter just fine.
It would probably be helpful if the installation instructions were more specific about making sure that one screw had to be torqued all the way until it bottomed out in order for the holes to line up.

  • Reverse vesa mount imac 2013

    Hi guys,
I purchased a late 2013 27" iMac with the VESA mount in November of 2013. Now my office situation has changed and I will not be able to hang my iMac anymore. My questions is; can I get a stand for my mac? I know originally Apple said this would not be possible, but I thought the market may have adapted to the needs of people like myself.
    Looking forward to your suggestions.

    Hi a brody,
Thanks for the link, however this does not solve my problem. I fear I may bot have explained properly.
I already have the VESA mount on the back of the iMac - it came with it from the factory. So my Mac never had a stand, and apple said the stand can not be fitted afterwards.
But I am hoping there is a way I can get a stand for it.
    Cheers

  • Does the VESA Mount Adapter - sold in Apple Store - work for iMac 21.5 Mid 2011

I just wanna know if the VESA Mount Adapter works for 21.5 inches iMac Mid 2011.
    Thanks

Unfortunatelly, it's not clear on the Apple Store Website.
And here in Brazil, the store support people says that it's OK for my 21.5" iMac. The technical support people says it's not OK and further, they said that I should have ordered an iMac without the stand and ready for VESA mounting.
So, the only option that I have is to buy another iMac ready for VESA mounting, which is kind of impossible, here in Brazil, due to the higher prices.
I'm gonna wait for my next trip.
    Thanks BGreg.
