New 4s syncing problem.

I purchased a new iPhone 4s about 2 weeks ago. I was unable to sync the phone originally (didn't need to) because my laptop had crashed and was being repaired. When I now attach the phone, it tells me that the phone cannot be connected due to a lack of pairing record. Does anyone know how to circumvent this problem?

Ok so youu have a new computer with all the content you want on it?
You have restored the iphone and got Music and photos on it.
Contacts are now normally syncd via the icloud.
In preferences select iCloud and switch on contacts and anything else you want
Then on your iPhone select Settings, Preferences, iCloud and turn the icloud elements on there Contacts, Calenders etc
That should enable Contacts and Calender to show on your phone and as soon as you make changes on the mac it will update the iphone and vice versa
The final thing is Apps. Are they on your computer?

  • New Outlook sync problem after update!!!

I had the 'original' Outlook sync problem, which went away after the iTunes update to 7.3.1, but now, after the iPhone update last night, I have an entirely NEW Outlook sync problem!!
When I sync the iPhone, right when it gets to the 'syncing contacts' part (that you see in the top box/window in iTunes) I get an error message that I haven't seen before. It says "AppleMobileDeviceHelper has encountered a problem and needs to close..." and it gives me the option to send an error report. I dismiss the error box, and the sync process hangs, and iTunes becomes unresponsive.
If I open Outlook, the two Apple sync oblects are still enabled, and get no error message. If I re-open iTunes and try to sync again, it only syncs iTunes content, and never even tries to sync my contacts or calendar.
Anyone having anything similar since last night? The only thing different is the iPhone firmware update.

I just cancelled the sync by using the slider. I didn't realize I could do that. The phone seems fine. I may try it again and see what happens.

  • New laptop, sync problem! HELP!

Hello!! A few weeks ago, my old laptop suddenly got a virus, and it was quickly corrupted and destroyed. I had no time to back up my songs on iTunes! I now have a new laptop, but when I plugged my iPod touch into it, it only transferred the PURCHASED songs!! I really need to know if there is any possible way to transfer ALL the songs onto iTunes. If not, will the songs get deleted from my iPod touch if I sync it to my laptop? I really hope not, since I no longer have the CDs that I imported the music from years ago. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

The purpose of a backup is to ALWAYS have a copy of your important info/pics/music/docs/etc in case something unexpected happens.
You do not begin to backup when you are having problems. Computers/hard drives do not always announce their pending failure. This why you maintain a backup.
You can try a search for a third party program at your risk (this is not supported nor endorsed by Apple).

  • New computer, syncing problems with itunes

    Hi there.
It's not really a new computer I just couldn't put the whole problem up in the header and it might as well be as I've had to erase the hard drive, reinstall leopard and start all over again. obviously my phone thinks that of course it is synced with another itunes library (which doesn't exist). (I'm hesitant o sync it with the computer in anyway as it may erase all of the applications that I have acquired and bought in recent months. Is there anything I can do about this?
    Thanks

The iTunes store still sees this as the same computer with the same MAC address, unless you changed your Ethernet card or other hardware. I guess you didn't backup your iTunes library...
    1. Reauthourize your computer in iTunes.
    2. Disable automatic syncing on connection of your phone.
    3. Connect your phone to iTunes
    4. Right-click your device, and select "Transfer Purchases" - this will transfer all iTunes purchased media and apps from your phone to iTunes.

  • New onset sync problems Zire 31

I know my Zire is old and tired, but I never had sync troubles before.  Recently when I would start, I would hear the familiar two tones and it appeared that the sync was occurring.  However, new data from Outlook (using Windows XP SP3) doesn't appear on the palm.  I did a soft restart on the palm and downloaded the latest software again (using repair) and tried again.  Now I hear three short beeps and nothing happens.  The sync never begins.  I'veAny thoughts about what happened?  Any suggestions?  I'm stuck and need the data on my palm!  I tried following the administrators help article, and got through going to Device Manager, but my Plam doesn't show up.  How do I get it to??  Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially from smkrantz!

There may be database corruption causing the issue. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will scan for database corruption and then report the corruption. You can then find the records causing the problem and fix them yourself or you can purchase the program and have it automatically fix the records.

To install the program to the handheld, disable the calendar conduit in hot sync manager.
Click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.

  • New IPad sync Problem

I just purchased a new iPad. When I went to sync it to my computer (HP Eletebook 8440p, running Vista 32 bit) it recognized it as it should have.  I went through the standard setup / registration phase. At one point it brought me to a page in iTunes that ask me if I wanted to set up the "Find my phone". At this point I can not progress any further. The three links listed "Learn More", "Not Now" and "Setup Find My Phone" do nothing when clicked. iTunes does will not progress any further.
    Steps taken this far:
    Un installed iTunes 10.2.2
    Re installed iTunes 10.2.2
Uninstalled again and installed older version 9.2 ( I think)
Received error and re installed 10.2.2
I still have the same screen asking about "find my phone". This is all new to me and I'm at a loss.

Can you try to setup the iPad from a friend's computer? Or return to the store and request an initial instore setup?

  • New iphone syncing problems, causing itunes to crash

I just purchased a verizon iphone yesterday and am in the process of setting up the phone to my liking.  Because of the verizon service the phone came with ios 4.2.8 which I have now upgraded to 4.2.10.  The sync process goes fine as long as i am only syncing apps, contacts, updating software, etc... The problem comes when i attempt to sync music, photos, and videos.  The sync will clear the first few steps of the process fine but will then cause itunes to essentially become unresponsive and crash.  At this point I am given a message saying windows is looking for a solution to the problem. no solution is found and the only option i am given is to close the program.  Unfortunately there is no specific error message given.  Everytime i open itunes again after the crash it will begin to sync again, slowly make a little bit more progress then crash again.  I also have an ipad and an ipod that both still sync sucessfully and do not cause itunes to crash, so im assuming the problem might be with the phone.  I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall of itunes, quicktimes, and other associated programs to no avail.  I have booted into recovery mode and completely started over with no luck.  Now im out of ideas on just what to do.  Any Thoughts?  I'm running windows 7 with the newest itunes and a verizon iphone with 4.2.10 fyi.
    Thanks

Ahhh man mine is the only discussion without any replies! Any help or suggestions welcome please!

  • New User - Sync Problems

This is my first BB and I am syncing for the first time. I have a Curve 8900 and the Desk Top Manager is version 4.7. I am hoping to work on the calendar, task,  memo, and address book on my lap top and then sync to my BB. I have successfully transfered the Address Book to the Windows Contacts folder but when I try to sync the other applications the options that are offered are Yahoo or ACSII Importer/Exporter. I am not familiar with either of these programs and I am assuming that these are online programs. I am running Vista home version and Office 07 Home version. I do not have Outlook. If anyone can offer me some advice with respect to programs I can access or download it would be greatly appreciated.

  • New audio sync problem

Just last week I started having problems capturing my video clips. It starts out fine and then the video freezes, then resumes, then the audio is off the rest of the clip. This happens when I use the Firewire NTCS and Firewire NTSC Basic dv controller. It won't happen on the Non-controlable device mode. It isn't doing this directly out of my dv player because it is fine on the monitor (which come direct from the player).
I have recently downloaded the new quicktime, but I can't see how that would affect it? Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
Rayna...oh, I am running FCP HD

hi randy, thanks for your response!
I don't think it is a timecode break...what I am capturing is a 9 min program w/o any stops or breaks. This is happening about 2 minutes into the capture.
I will certainly try what you suggested though. Thanks a bunch ,
    Rayna

  • HDV exports have new sound sync problem in Quick Time

    Hi
I'm on FCP 5.1.4. Prior to a few weeks ago, I've had no issue with exporting HDV files and playing on QuickTime. Now, regardless of the Quicktime Conversion I use, the exported video lags the sound. I went back to old projects and exported. Same thing. All the clips play fine in FCP. QuickTime is 7.5. I've read elsewhere people have had to downgrade to prior versions of QT. Anyone have a similar problem or have an idea what the root cause might be?
Specs of captured footage (pretty normal)
    Capture video: 1440x1080
    Copressor: HDV108060i
    Video Rate: 29.97
    Audeo: 48hz
Hope we can get some help here because I know others have the problem--and like me--are dead in the water on projects.
    Thanks,
    Phil

Figured out a solution. For those of you who have equipment/software similar to mine, FCP 5.4.1, IMAC G5 and QT 7.5. My project had multiple layered soundtracks. Sending to QT with any kind of compression didn't work. I wanted to ultimately get to an IPOD format. Here's what I did:
    Export project as self-contained movie.
Open QT (don't just click on the file - it'll launch FCP).
Open the reference file you just made.
It'll open, but probably stutter because size of raw file; doesn't matter.
    Stop QT from playing.
Choose Export; then any file type you want that's smaller.
    I chose IPOD.
    Works flawlessly.

  • New ibook syncing problem

    Greetings:
Since ibooks disappeared from iTunes and is its own app on the computer I can no longer individually drag books to my iPad.  It asks me to sync the whole library every time but whenever I try it gives me a warning sign saying this will replace all music on your iPad.  I don't want all my music on my iPad replaced every time.  I have ripped CDs on there that are not permanently on my computer.
    Can anyone help please?
    H

Can't help you with your first question.
You downloaded the latest iPod updater software, but did you actually run it?
The actual updater is called 'iPod Updater 2005-09-23' (if you have the latest) and is located in
    b ~/Applications/Utilities/iPod Software Updater
Connect your iPod, wait until it appears on the desktop and run the updater.

  • I have set up my new iPad 2 on my windowsn 7 computer, but experienced syncing problems from the start. It seems that it doesn't recognize the iPad, although it appears in iTunes. It only gives set up as new or restore options.

I have set up my new iPad 2 on my computer (Windows 7), but experienced syncing problems from the start.  It seems that although my iPad is regognized in iTunes as it appears there, it only gives met the options to set up as a new iPad or restore from the backup, no synching options. What do I do?

File>Devices>Transfer Purchases will transfer the itunes purchases to your ocmputer.
You should sync your ipod to your computer regularly.

  • New iTunes, same sync problems with Vista

    Hi
I got really excited when I saw in the fixes for the latest iTunes 8.1 for Windows that they had fixed sync problems with iPhones. They haven't!
On Vista Ultimate the sync has always been a problem, with either OutlookSyncClient or AppleMobileSync (or both) frequently crashing. With the previous couple of versions of iTunes, in my case, it has happened every third or fourth sync. Now with the new version it is almost every sync. It took me five disconnect and reconnect attempts and a couple of reboots to succcessfully sync this morning.
I've tried every fix I can find on line. I read that the Outlook sync problem was caused by an incompatibility with pst files that were not unicode. Oddly, I wasn't supposed to be able to sync with an old pst at all, but it did work erratically. Converting my pst to unicode didn't make any difference.
With the AppleMobileSync problem, I read that completely removing all Apple software in a particular order, restarting each time between removals, then clean reinstalling, should solve the problem. It didn't.
Now the problem is even worse and I'm at my wits end on it. Come on Apple, get a grip!
If anyone can shed any light on this I would be really grateful!

  • IPOD sync problems - are the new ones just as crappy?

Like everyone who uses an IPOD shuffle on a Windows computer, I constantly experience sync problems with the IPOD either not recognized or recognized as a different USB device. Constant plugging and unplugging into different USB ports usually solves the problem but what a freaking headache!
I'm thinking of getting a new music player and I want to know if the newer IPOD's (nano, shuffle, etc.) are as crappy with regard to USB port recognition and syncing as the 2nd generation shuffle?

You are obviously extremely dedicated. Just how long did it take you to talk to 30 or 40 million iPod Shuffle users and find out all of them had these issues?
Actually my guess would be your computer has an issue. I am assuming you are using a desktop computer? If this is true make sure you are using the full power USB ports in the rear of your computer.
Misidentification of your iPod would indicate a drive assignment problem, a problem that has been an issue since Windows was released. Make sure that all of the drivers for your other USB devices are current. If necessary use Device Manager and manually change the drive letter on the iPod.

  • New Touch Missing Movie Rental/Game "In-App Purchase" Sync Problems.

just picked up the new iPod Touch 4G (64GB) and am syncing to Win7 Starter (32bit).
I rented a few movies before I bought the Touch. They all seemed to download fine. the "Move" sync process seemed like it worked perfectly. When I looked back at my movies on my touch, some of them were missing. When I double checked my rental section in iTunes the movies were missing. I remember a dialogue later, saying that the file couldn't be found. I ran a quick windows search with no results.
So it seems like I could "Move" the movie fine, but after the sync finished, the files were gone from both the computer and the touch.
Could someone please explain this, and what I may do to recover those files? I did pay for them after all, and would still like to watch them. I just don't want to pay for them twice.
    Also (another similar issue):
I downloaded and played the game "FieldRunners" fine, but then decided to do an "in-app purchase" for the next level. I clicked download/entered my info/ and it seemed to download correctly, but when I re-entered the app, the level was not available to play. just weird.
FYI: this is my first iOS device, so please don't flame me for newbie ignorance.
    Any advice/suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks.
Overall, Here is my experience with the new touch:
First Connection: Installation did not work. Unplugged / Replugged USB worked correctly. (no restart necessary).
Selecting content to sync: Did not detect Outlook 2010 (FULL/NOT BETA) for Contacts/Calendar/etc.
I chose not to sync this through iTunes, and instead setup an "Exchange" account on my iPod Touch through google (m.google.com). Works perfectly.
I have my other email addresses forwarded through gmail to take care of push notifications. I still don't have Outlook 2010 calendars synced with google yet, but I'll figure that out.
Then I noticed the other sync problems mentioned above.
Again, any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Epski
Let us know how you go as i'm having the same issue also. I upgraded to yosemite and itunes 12 at the same time and thought the OS upgrade was the issue. I downgraded back to Mavericks again (for lots of reasons i won't go in to here) thinking this would fix the problem but it didn't.
When i play any video content from itunes 12 in full screen goes dark once the controls fade away. QT, appletv or anything else plays them perfectly, as per itunes 11!
You don't have a Samsung TV by any chance do you?
