New 64bit audio console works in 32bit windows

ok, if anyone else is like me, they don't care much for the additional applications from the install cd.
today, new drivers for 64bit and 32bit windows and the audigy2 zs line are out.
i tried, for fun, to install the 64bit audio console and it works fine in 32bit windows. finally a very nice and easy way to set things without the excessi've applications.
now, anyone know if the 32bit drivers released today are newer or older than the beta's released a few weeks ago?

Regarding the "new" drivers, it's not:
"This web download combines the fixes and enhancements from previous driver updates for your Creative Sound Blaster Audigy?2 and Audigy?2 ZS series internal audio device."
Fixes:
SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55.exe (Released on 9 Dec 04)
EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50.exe (Released on 29 Jul 2004)
SBA2_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe (Released on 29 Mar 2004)
Oh, they don't work on the Audigy 2 Value.

    Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
    My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
    Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
    I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
    ?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
    Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
    I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

  • Put new battery in ipod. works fine but windows cant access

    a few days ago I successfully put a new battery in my ipod.
    I followed all the instructions and it has worked fine: charges plays all the music nothing weird.
    Then I tried to hook it up to my computer and my itunes doesnt recognize it, windows sees it but I cant access it (says Ipod on drive G). then i went through the process of updating it (2005-11-17) but after a while of attempting to initialize it says "cannot mount ipod". once i click OK it disappears from My Computer and the ipod updater closes.
    i also get this prompt before anything:
    - drive not ready prompt:
    "the drive is not ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive and make sure that a disk is insterted and that the drive door is closed"
    I did theother 4 R's as well before this and even changed the cable just to make sure. any thoughts???

    There is a possibility that when you plugged in your hard drive, after installing the new battery, it didn't plug all the way in. This is what happened to me. I just opened up the case and made sure that the hard drive was plugged in correctly. after that it worked fine.

    they are these blue straight plastic things with a little wedge hook doo dad on the end. they couldnt open the ipod initially , i used an exacto knife and pryed it open a little then got the plastics in there. Like changing a bike tube they give you two "irons" to work with. one to hold it open and the other to slid towards the top and bottom. it pops right open. you need to open it from the sides not the bottom or top. The mini i have no idea how to open i also thing the nano is built like the mini. I am sure if you google the battery replacement product it comes with instructions (but make sure you have good eyes, the writing and examples are TINY.

  • Audio stopped working suddenly on windows 7

    I use windows 7 with Ubuntu 14.04 in dual boot for years. I have recently encountered a problem on my windows 7. My headphones are not working. The audio driver from realtek detects unplugging or plugging in of the headset but it's not giving any sound.
    The computer port is okay and the headphone is good too as I can hear everything in my Ubuntu. There was not any problems with the windows too. It was working fine. But recently I've encountered this annoying problem. I used to use a software Soundwire which
    used to send audio to my smartphone over wifi. even that is not working or not even connecting. The things I did around the time when the problems started was:
    1. I was cleaning up my PC uninstalling unnecessary programs. I did NOT uninstall any audio drivers.
    2. I installed Virtualbox for few virtual OS testing.
    The things I already tried:
    1. Obviously Tried the Troubleshooter for audio playback which doesn't detect any problems.
    2. Tried uninstalling audio driver then shutting down computer and reinstalled audio driver. Did NOT work.
    So any help about this? It really occurred suddenly.

    In addition to the replies, check your device manager for any issues.
    have you check the hardware and sound on the control panel for any clues?

    I have just bought an ipod nano 8GB, and tried to install it. The latest itunes I can put on my computer is 7.3.2 as it is a Windows 2000 not an XP. Unfortunately the nano is saying it needs 7.4 and above. can anyone help please?

    I wish you would have asked or checked on the tech specifications for the Nano prior to purchase. These are the required tech specs, copied directly from the Nano page. I'm sorry there's nothing you can do.

  • CS4 on new 64bit machine will not save files, "unkown error"

    I just upgraded my machine from an older 32 bit PC to a 64 bit PC running Windows 7. As part of the migration O'm having to re-install a lot of softwaare including Illsutrator. The install was succesful, Illy runs and will open all of my old AI files, but it will not save them. All I get id an "unkown error" message. New files created form scrath save ok; old files will save over or be "saved as"; if I copy the contents of an old fiel to a new page it will not save either. I have removed the AIprefs file but no change.
    Any idea what the issue is?

    I have had this problem as well and this is my take on it. It can open the files being that it's .ai format but it can't just save them again being that the previous save format was 32bit and now the save format is 64bit and when you ask it to save a 32bit file it wants to save it as 32bit again but illustrator can't do that from a 64bit system. The bit size does make a difference but if you go to save as instead of save it will save it and you can write over it. What your doing then is saving a new 64bit file over the old 32bit file.

    I'm running Vista 32bit with a SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum with the Inspire T7700 7. speakers. I installed Creatives latest driver and no matter what I selected under Vista's Sound controls (Stereo, 5., 7.) I only got sound out of front left and right. It played all of the test sounds, but just in those two speakers.
    I uninstalled all that stuff, and installed the SB Audigy Support Pack 2 by daniel_k. The same thing is still happening, and if I go to the Audio Console, there is nothing in my Speaker / Headphone Selection box under the "Speakers" tab.

    Well heres my method?.) Insert Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro CD Software, install2.) Use Creative Website Support and choose Auto Update3.) Install via downloaded programs/auto installation?4.) • Windows 7 64-bit X-Fi PCI-Express Audio console

    Hello,
    I have a SB PCI-Express Extreme audiocard, and I recently installed Windows 7. I have the basic driver and I do have sound, but the full control suite of software, that included the audio-console and startup-console I had in XP that allowed me full control of my card I do not. Which is rather annoying, because there's much more functionality there.
    I tried installing the XP version of the control software, but it started with saying I have newer drivers installed, which made me cancel it as I figured it would be bad to install XP 32-bit drivers on W7 64-bit system.
    So, I wanted to know if Creative is working on make W7 64-bit version of the control suite, and if so, whether there is an estimate on when it'll be completed/released? And if not, if someone knows a workaround to get the control suite of XP installed anyway without overwriting the drivers.

    Re: Windows 7 64-bit X-Fi PCI-Express Audio console" http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/SB-P7X-Series-Support-Pack-2-0-07-3-2009-AudigySE-Value-LS/td-p/53329
    That is for your card, sorry about that. Then you can download and install the newest Creative driver on top of this package. You will first unpack Dan K.'s support pack, install it, reboot. Make sure your sound is functioning and that in Device Manager you have Creative X-FI, not high definition multimedia device. Then reboot again, and install the newest Creative Labs driver. Now you can configure your system for number of speakers, tone, bass, EQ, Crystalizer, etc.

  • "Invalid printer specified" for 32bit Windows Service in 64bit Server

    Hi All,
    I'm having some issues with crystal reports.
    My development environment:
    Visual Studio 2008, 32bit Windows XP
    Running environment:
    Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 64 bit
    Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008 (x86)
    I've created two applications: one is console application and one is windows service. Both application run same codes to print crystal reports to printers and run at 32 bit. I can have multiple instance of console application running without any issues. When I run the windows service version, the first time the service works fine. But after I restarted the windows server, the crystal report throw Sysstem.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException.
    The detail of the exception is:
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80000201):
    Invalid printer specified.
       at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputControllerClass.ModifyPrinterName(String newVal)
       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.PrintOptions.set_PrinterName(String value)
       at Company.PrintReport(ReportClass report, String printerName)
    Both console application and windows service run at 32 bits. The user runs the service is domain controller who has admin permission. And the same problem happened on an web application hosted on IIS of the same server.
    What I've done so far:
    1. Set the printer option in the report to no printer
    2. Try install the crystal report x64
    3. For the windows service build for x86.
    Please some one help me in this.
    Cheers

    That is a rather strange issue.
    Make sure you are killing the report object once you're doen with it. E.G;
    Dim report as New ReportDocument
    Protected Sub Page_load()
    End Sub
    Private Page_Unload()
    report.close()
    report.dispose()
    GC.Collect
    End Sub
    //C# (on form open):
    private void WebForm1_Init(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
        if (boReportDocument != null)
            boReportDocument.Close();
            boReportDocument.Dispose();
            GC.Collect();
    // C# on form close
    private void Page_Unload(object sender, EventArgs e)
            if (boReportDocument != null)
            { boReportDocument.Close();
                boReportDocument.Dispose();
                GC.Collect();
    If closing and disposing does not help, is htis happening on your dev computer or after you move that app to another server?

  • Satellite P100: Conexant audio is not supported on Windows Vista 64bit

    Last week I install the new system as Windows Vista 64bit but no sound. I think that was the problem with the 64bit audio driver. Is that anyone has the new driver for vista 64bit?

    It seems some devices are not recognized by Vista common drivers which were shipped together with the Vista OS and therefore new drivers are needed. But because the Vista is not official on the market (official start is end of January 2007) the drivers are not published.
    But where did you get the 64bit Vista version???

  • Install windows 8 64bit on 64bit architecture tablet(acer iconia w4-820) by removing the preloaded 32bit windows 8.1 or dual boot

    Hi,
    I need to install windows 8 64bit on a 64bit architecture Tablet(acer iconia w4-820) by removing the preloaded 32bit windows 8.1 or should make it as dual boot. For a project purpose.
    I tried booting the tablet from windows 8 64bit DVD for installation but it does't even detect the DVD Drive. when i insert the recovery DVD which came with acer it gets detected.
    The windows 8 64bit DVD which am trying to install is volume licensed which we use to install on our laptops. That works fine with Laptops.
    Is their any different version of windows 8 do i need to try for installing on Tablet(acer iconia w4-820) or where am i going wrong.
    Thank for your help.

    SM
    DISCLAIMER.  I would contact Acer about this to be safe, but if you only have one HD in the tablet you are going to have to do a clean install by formatting the HD.  You cant run 64 bit & 32 bit on the same drive AFAIK.

  • How to get 32bit Windows 7 on new Envy 17

    Hi All,
    This is just a helpfull mail for all those Win7 fans and people with too much 32bit apps.
    WARNING: Steps below may void your waranty (so get an in store extended waranty lol)
    Finally managed to get Windows 7 SP1 32bit fully functional .... (Comes with Win 8 64bit)
    Howto:
    (Preparation)
    a. Download Windows 7 Drivers for:
         1. Intel Integrated Graphics
         2. Intel USB 3 Controller
         3. Ethernet
    (Steps)
    1. Go into bios by pressing F10 quickly on startup.
    2. Change boot setting to support older OS.
    3. Change USB setting for first USB2 support
    4. Save and exit Bios. (Can boot into Win 8 again and will reconfigure your system or just shut down here)
    5. Set Bios to Boot from DVD
    6. Shut down, power off, unplug, remove battery.
    NOW for the tough part:
    7. Remove singe screw that was hidden below battery for Memory etc cover.
    8. Carefully unclip the big cover (uses a little force)
    9. Carefully lift and unplug the two SATA HDDs - take note witch one was HDD1 and HDD2.
    10. Plug the HDD2 (Should be the empty one) in the place of HDD1. Leave HDD1 aside for now.0
    11. Can leave cover off here and plug back back system.
    12. Power On. Insert Windows DVD. Boot from DVD.
    13. Setup Windows.
    14. When setup complete - power off. Put HDD1 back in place of HDD2 and close cover.
    15. Will start with Win7.
    16. In windows, go to second HDD, SWSetup\Drivers folder and run each driver there.
    17. Only a couple will not run because they are  x64
    18. Install the ones you downloaded earlier.
    19. Wooohoo everything works.
    (Post steps)
    1. Don't mess with second HDD in windows if you want to keep factory OS intact.
    2. Find Ramdisk Software online that can use "Hidden Memory", Make Ramdisk with extra ram available, Assign this Ramdisk as your Virtual memory - thereby using "All" of your Ram.
    (Getting it all Back)
    Since Windows 7 BCD cannot boot Windows 8, download the Visual BCD tool, run the Dual Boot Repair Tool, and choose Automatic fix.
    Next boot will boot with windows 8 loader and you can choose to run original windows 8 or your cool Windows 7
    Hope this helps someone else ....

    Using X-Fi Elite Pro and Vista 64-bit /w new 2.8.0004 drivers. Notes in the lastest driver says that Dolby/DTS encoding is enabled for Vista, but I'm not seeing the decoder tab like other people have. Can I still decode with my soundcard using method 2 in this thread

    I have the X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard and Vista Ultimate x64 SP, I get the decoder tab in both creative audio console and Creative Console Launcher (All modes). In order to get the Dolby Digital and DTS decoder tab in both creative audio console and Creative Console Launcher (Entertainment mode, game mode, ect) you have to install the following. Later, you can buy the Dolby Digital Li've as a add on.
