New 7D has trouble talking to 430Ex speedlight.
Regardless if I have the flash control set to external only or both. I turn on the external flash, it show the channel etc. I pop up the on camera flash and enable both. Standing right in front of the 430 and pressing a test flash, nothing . Going around to the external and waking it up, take a picture, no external flash. Finally after two or three shots, the external starts blinking.
Can someone tell me the proper procedure so I know if there is something wrong with this new gear?

Hi Hairdad,
We're sorry to hear that your EOS 7D is having trouble talking to your Speedlite 430EX. I'd like to go over the steps to get this working for you.
1. Press the [FLASH] button to pop-up the built in flash. Ensure the Speedlite 430EX is set to Slave mode.
2. Select [Flash Control] under the Camera 1 Tab, then press <SET>.
3. Select [Built-in flash func. Setting], then press <SET>.
4. Select [Flash Mode], select [E-TTL II] then press <SET>.
5. Select [Wireless Func.] and choose the Speedlite fire option.
6. Set [Channel] to the same as the Slave Unit is set to.
7. Fire a Test flash. The slave should fire, if not then check the settings again. (Page 119)
8. Take the picture.

Is it just me or Safari's new upgrade has trouble rendering some pages?
Some pages I've loaded seem to keep blinking white, and then they don't reappear until I scroll my mouse over them, and most times they don't come back again. I end up having to refresh the entire page for it to render properly. Could this be an upgrade problem or the pages I'm visiting.
YES! YES! YES! It totally hosed mine. Of ocurse, let me preface this by saying that my iPhone has been a piece of crap since day one. I have a 3G. When I first got it I could barely hear anyone on my phone even turned all the way up. After the frist update I did it was somewhat better but not great. After last one I did, it would shut itself off when I was texting or using the internet. A LOT! I could be sitting right beside my husband and have no bars. And he'd have wifi and I couldn't get it. Not a foot apart! Wrote Apple. They sent me a phone to use while they were fixing mine. This one does the same exact thing. I will NEVER have another iphone!

New iPhone has trouble loading Camera Roll
Got a new iphone, had icloud back everything up but camera roll isn't showing up. It's showing me that i have the correct number of pictures but it's been contstantly "Loading..." for 2.5 hours. Any idea if they will load properly? Anything I can do to expedite?

When you restore from back up, the process will restore the OS and some initial data, it will then restart and allow you to use your device while the remaining data is downloaded and restored in the background. have you allowed enough time for this to complete.
ensure that you have a decent wifi signal. -

My new macbook air sometimes has difficulty booting up. I reinstalled Lion twice. That soves the problem temporarily and then after a few days it reoccurs. It also has trouble at times opening mail or Microsoft Word. Any ideas? Thanks, Marty

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "difficulty" during the boot sequence? When/where is the difficulty occurring? Are you getting to the Apple logo? Apple logo with spinning gear? Blue screen? Login window? There's many phases to the boot sequence and when it fails can go a long way in determing what's causing the problem.
Also, what sort of third party software is installed? It sounds like at a minimum you've installed Microsoft Office? Anything else?
Lastly, after you reinstall Lion do you perform a restore from backup or remigrate your data/content right back into the new OS? If so that could potentially be the problem right there. But truthfully there's more information that needs to be provided to begin recommending troubleshooting steps. -
My new iPod has been updated. I was pushed into it. So then I thought "it could use one it could improve it". I read as much as the terms and conditions as I could read that was understandable. And now it's been less then two days and my iPod is now practically useless. Don't update your iPod. It was the only good thing I had. I pleded and pleded to my parents for weeks and save up for weeks to get one. And now it's not even a year old and I've lost it. I can't afford to get a new one. And I can't afford to loose this one. i worked hard every day all day For months to be able to even get a quarter of what i needed. And my parents agreed to pay for the rest and it was my Christmas present. i was extremely happy. It's the best thing that I have and I've lost it because of an update Apple pushed me into. Now they won't help me.
my iPod is freezing every 5-10 minutes for long periods of time. It is:

the keyboard board is lacking severely
lags through out ipod
i cannot play games as it lags then freezes.
my screen is pressing where I don't press it.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Can you set up a rule in your old account to forward mail to your new account and then delete it from the old account?

Windows XP SP2 freezes and then has trouble booting up
I've got a recent problem with my PC freezing while in use. All of a sudden it freezes with no error messages. The only resolution is to reboot the PC; however, most times the PC has trouble booting up after that. Usually at some point before it boots up I'll get a CMS checksum error, hit the F1 key to continue and Windows will load up. I'll have to restart it multiple times before I can get it to boot or I have to unplug the PC, let it sit overnight and then it tends to boot up with no problems the next morning.
I did notice that the fan to the PSU isn't running all the time. Should it be? I would have thought so, but don't know for sure.
I haven't tried reloading Windows over the current installation. I have an original Win XP disk ()non-SP2). This is a Windows CD, not a restore CD. I've updated to SP2. Will it be OK to reinstall over it with an older version of XP? I guess I can just not replace any newer files if it asks?

I see you linked to an earlier post you made. However, if the memory checked out OK and it's run fine for the last 6 months without any problems, would it do any good to run another memory check on it?

suggest you to ignore "The Geek Squad ran the basic diagnostic package" and to test it personally.
get memtest http://www.memtest.org/download/1.70/memtest86+-1.70.floppy.zip
extract files and make diskette bootable from installer. then reboot PC and boot from floppy, select test n5 only from there and leave it to test over 20times ensure no errors will come... step by step with memtest: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=103598.msg760534#msg760534
other way is to try to install XP with each memory sticks separately until works.. leave only one stick into DIMM slot close to CPU socket and have a try to install OS again, if no go remove memory and replace it with other one. and retry.
or take PC to some computer repair shop to diagnose. -
I recently upgraded my ipod Touch (4th Gen) to the new ios 6.0.1 software. Now it has trouble syncing, freezing up while syncing and keeping music on it without deleting it. I tried restoring it, but can't even downgrade it. PLEASE APPLE!!! PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

What exactly do you mean by lag time when tutned on? If you startup from a shutoff condition you have to hold the power button for a few seconds before the startup sequence begins...and then the apple logo will stay on-screen for a minute or so as it powers up.
If you are talking about waking from sleep, how long is this taking?
If you are concerned, by all means take it in for testing...but Apple does not repair iPhones, they replace them if defective. -
My iMac has trouble loading fonts (and speakers) on startup.
Some mornings my brand new work iMac (running 10.7.2) has trouble loading fonts on startup. Sometimes the speakers don't appear to be connected/active either. Both problems go away for the day once I've restarted the computer once or twice. Any ideas on why this is?

I have two PCs that I need to deauthorize so I can download tunes to my new laptop. Trouble is, they are both out of commission. Is there anyway I can deauthorize them remotely?
De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

Moving Creative Suite 4 to new laptop. New download has 9 Pro, old install had 9 Pro "EXTENDED". Don't remember if my boss bought the "extended" as an exrta. BUT, when I go to Adobe and downlaod the "Extended" version, it says I have a better program already installed. IF this program is 9 Pro, then It is missing the 3D capture feature I was using to create 3D User Interactive PDFs of AutoCAD 3D models off the Model tab. Any clue what I need to do? Thanks, Cliff
[email address removed by host]The version of Acrobat bundled with CS4 was Acrobat 9 Pro. Acrobat 9 Pro Extended was sold as a standalone product.
If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, then untick the option to install Acrobat when installing CS4, and you can carry on using the standalone copy. Acrobat and CS4 don't actually talk to each other, so installing CS4 won't affect your install of Acrobat unless you force the CS4 install program to replace it. -
Wi-Fi has trouble connecting on wake
After putting my MBA to sleep, it consistently has trouble reconnecting to Wi-Fi on wake. In order to reconnect, I Ctrl-click the Wi-Fi icon to disable Airport, then re-enable it and Wi-Fi works. I see this issue at home and at work, two separate routers. I searched the forum and saw a similar thread but I believe I'm seeing something different because Wi-Fi reconnects without physically moving the laptop closer to my router. It's a new MBA purchased in March running 10.6.7. Has anyone else seen this behavior?
I also have this problem on my late 2010 11" MBA, both at home (DLink router) and at work (Airport Extreme). It is really annoying. I have tried deleting preferences and keys, I have deleted and recreated the connections... to no avail.
All that helps is deactivating wireless and then activating it again after a couple of seconds (it then instantanously connects without problems).
I already had a similar issue on my first gen MBA a couple of years ago and it would be really great to have this fixed... apart from this issue this machine really rocks!
