New (8.0.0) vs. old (7.x.x) sorting of albums in the list view

I am having a few little issues with the new classification system in iTunes 8.0.
I have just changed for the first time the album name of a few songs I imported after updating to 8.0. The album name of the CD was starting with "The". After renaming the CD, I have noticed that whenever I try to punch the name of the album directly in the Albums column in the Browser pane of the List view, I can't find it. But, if I strip the "The" from the name of the album, therefore basically punching on my keyboard whatever comes after the "The", I can find it right away. This was not the behavior found in iTunes 7.x, which somehow confuses me now. But, another problem comes up when typing the name of the songs I imported in iTunes 7.x and before. Their album names are still classified as the "The" being part of the Album name. This means that everything I had before upgrading is still behaving as if I was in iTunes 7.x (but in iTunes 8.0), and everything I imported after the update is behaving in the new fashion. I tried renaming a few "old" albums (7.x) in 8.0, and they are now sorted with the new 8.0 style.
I also don't like the new Grid view, as I can't seem to be able to type in to go directly to an album, even when the Album tab is selected. I always end up instead on artists having names similar to the album I'm looking for...
Is there a way to circumvent this new (re)naming "automation"? I like to find my albums the way their name appear on their respective album art...
Anyways, I hope I am the only one being affected by this changing, as I will find myself utterly confused, or will be forced to rename every album starting with "The" I have in my iTunes library which, by the way, seems to be a very popular way of naming albums nowadays!

If you change your Apple ID, all the apps you purchased with the previous ID will no longer updatable for you and this problem will continue. You see your old Apple ID because you are likely still using some of the apps purchased on that ID.

How do you isolate an album or artist in the new iTunes? (12.0) It is really frustrating when trying to listen to one album and I get the album in the list with all 1,025 other albums in my library. Same with the artist.

You assumed correctly, and it should continue to play the rest of the album in order. Does this happen to all your albums. Have you tried restarting the tv. -
I want to give my old macbook pro away as a gift & bought a 250 GB SATA internal hard drive and installed it, then popped in the osx install disk. When I start it up it begins well, but when it gets to the point to install the software on the drive, the drive simply doesnt show up on the menu to be chosen to instal the software.
The cables are on right and should be working well, so I don't understand why this brand new, never used hard drive doesn't allow the software to mount. Thanks for the help!jcbarker wrote:

How about an exact model number, there are a lot of 250G Toshiba drives, but even if it is formatted for Windows it should not be necessary to remove it just to format it.
Can you see the drive in Disk Utility? (Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility) -
I tried restoring it and found out all my previous cloud backups are also missing
I have also gotten a new iPhone 5c and am not able to get any pictures from camera roll or stream. Tried all of the same things restore etc and nothing. Has anyone got an answer? Or contact support?

Continuing with above question, would it make sense to re-set the TC to factory settings? Can 2 computers back up to one TC?
thanks!You can backup 2 computers as long as the TC has enough space.
Your access might be restricted if you set it up with users.. you must log in with the correct user to get access to the files.
Otherwise you should be able to see both sparsebundles just with finder.

Just downloaded the latest version of iTunes - iTunes 11.1.0.126. Even though I was already subscribed to all of my podcasts, there was a new Subscribe button next to each one. So, I clicked them. Now, every podcast in my list view is populated by every old episode ever published by that podcast. Worse, they cannot be deleted using my Delete key. Next to each old podcast is a cloud download symbol. My list view is now completely cluttered, making them extraordinarily long to scroll down through. Anyone know how to get rid of this major annoyance?
You have to pay to subscribe to iMatch to be able to delete.

How can I change my icloud account information on my iphone 4S? When I did the latest update my icloud account reverted to the original ID I had when setting up my account. How can I change my apple ID when I am in setting > iCloud > account > Apple ID? Again my ID went to original ID and I do not know how to update it to my new one.
Thanks!If you want to move to a new, separate iCloud account you have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account. Deleting the account will only delete it from your phone, not from iCloud. This will not effect other devices still using the account. Also, you can continue to share your ID for the iTunes and App stores even though you will have a different ID for iCloud. They do not need to be the same.
To begin, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them. To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom). Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, if you have any data in either iCloud account that you no longer want (such as someone else's contacts) you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete it. -
Why is ical on iPhone 5s missing old events only on list view??
i have the latest ios7 on my iphone 5s. i only noticed this recently that old events more than 1 year old are missing from ical once i am in list view (magnifying glass) but present on day/week/month view? On settings it is set to sync all events and events are present but not via list view. The reason this is annoying as month view is just dots which does not help if you have different coloured categories.
Its puzzling bth. With events showing when not in list view shows icloud is working but i don't get this?
thanks denI am not witnessing any instability problems on my 5S. I would check with each of the developers to see if their apps are compatible with iOS8 before deciding this is a problem with your individual device or the iPhone all together.

New iOS 7.01 iPhone 5. When you go to check you calendar entry's it does not bring up all the entry's only shows entry's for each day. Why?
When in month view, swipe up or down to change the month, tap the litle icon "three lines horizontal" next to the search icon, and you have a list view of all events. Clicking the icon twice again, brings up the Day view, and then again tapping twice the list view again....
Personally I am not very happy with this "advanced" app, and I have installed Week calendar which basically is another interface to the same calendars database. -
Modal dialog and new form after click on save do not jump to the list form

I want to open a list new form in a modal dialog. After the user click on the “Save” or “Cancel” button modal dialog close and the user not jump to the list view.
How can I do this?

StefanIf you are using a URL to open the new form then you can add the following parameter to the URL to redirect them to wherever you wish after the form closes: Source=URLToRedirectTo
For instance if the URL you were using was:
