New 890FXA-GD70: Only the SB lights turn on

Hey gang, I just picked up a new 890FXA-GD70 and troubleshooting an issue. When turning on the PSU, only the two SB lights turn on. I don't get any other lights nor do the BIOS digits count up. Is my board fired/DOA?
I've unmounted the board and placed it on a nonconducting material, connected the 24-pin and 4-pin power connectors, installed only one stick of ram, my video card and cleared the BIOS. Thinking it was the power supply, I went and purchased a new one. Same result.
Any ideas/thoughts?

There are four indicator LED's on this MB. CPU Phase (4 power phase modes), NB Phase (2 power phase modes), SB Phase (2 power phase modes), DDR Phase (2 power phase modes). Only the SB Phase Indicator lights up showing that its in 2 phase power mode.
The step counter does not light up.

Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

You'll need to copy the music from the old iPod back to iTunes first before you can transfer it to your new iPod. Map with 500 pdfs. How to make a new file with only the first pages, new file with second pages etc.

Hi,
A client confronted me with the next question:
I have a map with 500 pdf's in it.
Is it possible to make a new file with only the first page of each pdf?
After that to make a new file with only the second page of each pdf?
And after that the third?
Etc.
Is that possible with an action?
Or are there scripts for?
I couldn't find them.
I use an iMac with Acrobat XI.
Any help is very welcome.

You can extract each page from each pdf as a seperate page. Once this is done you can select the pages tocombine.
You would have to write custom a custom JavaScript and programatically code the names to combine if the extracted file pages habvestandars naming that could be programed. There maybe some security coding you will have to do because of Adobe restrictions but this all documented in the Acrobat JavaScript Reference.

To reiterate Larry's question are you trying to copy
your iPhoto Library package in it's entirety to the flash drive
or
just the photos that are in the library?
Each requires a different process.
If it't the former reformat the flash drive to OS X Extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto Library package from your Pictures folder to the flash drive.
If it's the latter export them to a folder on the Desktop first viaFile ➙ Export ➙ File Export and Kind = Original and drag the folder onto the flash drive.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

IMAC Powers Down by itself, When it reboots only the Spot Light visable

Hope someone can help, we have two Imac 20' G5 2ghz with 1.5gb Ram. Both system are crashing with the same problem.
The IMAC Powers Down by itself, and when it reboots only the Spot Light Field is viable, Only way to recover it is to rebuild OS. Sent the System back, and Both Logic board and Hardrive were replaced, and the day system crashed again did they same thing. We also have 2 Imac 20' G5 Isight Models working in the same envioroment and are not experiencing any problems with those systems. Any Ideas?

Sounds to me like you may have bad power supply units. I know of several people who had Rev B machines that were covered by THIS repair program.
Even though it says rev A machines are covered. It seems like some that were made early in the switch still used some of the components that were fingered out as not functioning properly. I would check your serial number.
Either way, give AppleCare a call, you should still be covered. And if you had some things replaced, like you said, let them know its doing same thing. Its for this reason that I have a hunch you are getting those old MBs that were having issues. Its more than the Power supply I sispect. Since you cant run it normally when it does power up, seems to me you may have several issues going wrong at the same time.
Hope you get it fixed.

I turn on the personal hotspot on the phone, connect to the ipad over wi-fi or bluetooth and surf the web flawlessly. I turn on the VPN on the ipad and cannot access my work network. I check the IP address of the phone prior to the connection of the VPN and it registers a VZW IP that the phone is supposed to broadcast. I turn the VPN in and the ipad reflects the VPN IP address that I'm trying to connect to back to the phone and THAT is what the phone tries to project. My RMS vendor and our network provider have both been identified as not being the culprit. I've spent about 8 hours on the phone with an IOS Senior Advisor and we are both perplexed by this. He has been gracious enough to maintain daily contact with me and he's forwarded it up to those higher than him.
This worked back in April of this year and quit working in May or June. That means it worked on IOS5 and quit working IOS 5.
Anyone else having these issues?

My iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 are running 6.1.3 with no such problem and the same with the overwhelming majority of iOS devices running 6.1.3.

New 890FXA-GD70 No Video - FF code

All items are new.

AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz Socket AM3
1x4GB Corsair XMS (CMX4GX3M1A1333C9) (have 4x4gb, for install only used 1, also tried 2)
PS: CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W
HD: 1 Seagate SV35 Series ST31000526SV 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal
System is dead on arrival.
Motherboard LED shows FF immediately after powering on.
No video at all. Tried 3 different video cards that work in their original computers.
I hear no disk activity from the hard disk.
I've tried:
- Resetting the CMOS
- Different sticks (of same type) of RAM
- Different SATA ports
- Different video cards
This purchase was for a business and it's rather urgent. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

1. Reseat the CPU and check for bent pins.
2. Put 1 memory stick in slot 3 or 4
3. JPWR2 must be connected with either 4 or 8 pin, doesn't matter as long as it's connected.
4. Reset the Cmos by removing all power and set jumper Jbat1 into 2-3 position for a minute, then put back to 1-2 position.
(5. If you have a different supported CPU try that one.)
If that doesn't help, RMA the board, as then it could be a broken board or CPU.
The board will never start without ram, why people try that is beyond me

My MacBook is not charging but the green light turn on and sometimes is orange?*

The life cycle of the battery was in the 800's when I was first trying to figure out if it just needed a new battery but it died shortly after. Okay so I found my iPod had gone through the washer and dryer. It was perfectly dry. I tried to turn it on, and nothing. But I thought maybe it's just dead. So I plugged it in, let it charge...when I tried to turn it on, the little light went green. I thought hurray!! But I put in the earbuds and heard nothing except some random "Battery level 75 percent." On my sister's earbuds. On my earbuds, which went through the washer too, nothing.
What to do???

It's likely that your iPod is toast. It does not play well with water and soap.

Did you buy the Applecare extended warranty? If not then you will need to pay for whatever repairs need to be done.
You will need to take the system to an Apple store Genius Bar for a check up.

I actually showed this to Apple geniuses when I took my computer to the apple store, and it's still here. In console it says:
kernel[0]: Previous Shutdown Cause: -128
I don't know if that's related or not, but maybe helps?
