NEW Album Artwork Problem and MORE!

Once I puchased a laptop, I attempted to copy the library on my main computer to the laptop. This worked fine. The problrms arose once I synced my Ipod to my new laptop. After I synced it,  alot of the album artwork is not correctly positioned. What I mean by this: the artwork is with the correct songs, etc. but the actual artwork is all whackey. For example, instead of the artwork having the correct, individual sizes, they are in the same black box no matter what the size of the artwork, meaning artwork that is tall and wide is missing the top and bottom with black boxes on the sides.
That is the best I can explain that.
Another problem arose when I attempted to update my ipod. I got an error (-43) when I updated it on my laptop. After it failing over and over again, I just moved back my stuff from the laptop to the main computer to update it there. Now after I sync it to the main computer, the album artwork is still garbage and glitchy on my ipod. Moreover, I am still getting the error (-43) message.
*** itunes?
So now im thinking, "well, i'm going to have to save my library somewhere else and sync the ipod without a library." What makes me reluctant is if I move my library, which has the album artwork messed up, will it stay like that after the update considering the music is not being updated with it?
Well, this *****. I have no idea what to do. Why must iTunes have so many problems?

Well, It updated and synced fine. The album artwork sizes were fixed too!
But now the artwork looks add like the pixles are not set in properly....
Oh well.
Thanks to anyone who read this.

  • ITunes 8: still the same album artwork problem

hi! it seems that this is still an open question. the problem is that after installing iTunes 7.7.1 some of my (manually added) album artworks dissapeared and cannot fix this because no matter how hard i try i cannot recover the artworks (the same way i did it initially). nothing happens after i try to copy the picture in the field reading 'Drag Album Artwork Here'. and iTunes 8 that i have downloaded and installed just a while ago cannot fix the problem either. any ideas what is going on?
thanks anyone who would read this and tries to help.

Okay, I think I've figured a way around this. At least it works for me. It's a bit convoluted, but it works and it's fairly simple. Here goes...
Select the aiff or aif files in itunes that you want to add album art to, right click and choose "create AIFF Version." This will create a new AIF file in the iTunes folder in your Music folder. Once that is done, this new AIF file will accept album art in iTunes. Just delete the old aiff/aif files and replace with the new aif file created by iTunes. I know it's a little more extra work than should be necessary, but it's a temporary fix until Apple hopefully fixes it without having to do these extra steps. Hope this helps!
Let me know if this works for anyone else.

  • Tom Waits New Album Technical Problems on ITunes Store

Tom Waits' new album, Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards, has serious technical problems on ITunes. I downloaded 4 songs before quitting, because just about every song skips and misses. It's not an isolated problem, apparently.
Apple needs to fix this problem AND refund the money of any ITunes customers unfortunate enough to download this album.
Does Apple have a policy about this sort of thing?
    Thanks

It appears that I've solved the problem. I was using the Length attribute in the enclosure tab to indicate the length of time of the file rather than its byte size. After going through and fixing all the length attributes and pinging the server all of my episodes are no appearing.
My only guess is that Apple really clamped down on podcasters having valid XML sometime at the beginning of July, because I didn't change anything about my XML file other than adding new episodes every week. But anyway, it seems like it's working fine now.

  • How do I make new albums in photos and move picture from one album to another

How do I make new albums in Photos and move photos from one album to another

At the moment you can't - though it should be possible (if it makes it into the final release) in iOS 5 which will be available sometime in the Autumn. Photos cannot currently be moved between albums on the iPad.
If  you sync separate folders from your computer you'll get an album for each of them on the iPad, and you have to sync all the folders/albums that you want together as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad (not including a folder in a sync is the way that you delete it from the iPad).

  • New album art feature and the album art screen saver

    Hi,
I've been using (and enjoying) the built-in album art screen saver for my locked screen for a long time. A few days after I've updated to iTunes 7, I began to delete old covers of my favorite albums (low resolution, bad color, read: Google image search) and applied the better-looking ITMS covers by selectively using the "get album art" feature.
Since I did that, those favorite albums do not appear in the screen saver rotation anymore.
I'm aware that the downloaded covers aren't saved in-file but in the /Album Artwork folder, so I'm certain that's the problem - the screen saver isn't programmed to look for those.
Now, does a workaround exist for that? Does Apple plan a small update (unlikely) / did anybody write a compatible clone / did anybody found a hack? Unfortunately, it's not in the localizible part of "iTunes Artwork.saver".
Thanks in advance for your help!

Same problem that I am having. I enjoyed the album art screen saver. Since I updated to v7 the screen saver doesnt seem to work correctly. Spent the first day of release getting most of my albums (shockingly more then I thought). Enabled the screen saver, but only got 4 albums to show up, no others. Testing it more, I removed the art for the albums that showed up, which got me to 1 album, removed and then got the error that my iTunes Library had no albums with artwork. Weird.. Removed my library, reloaded, and ALL the artwork is gone. Tried going a few albums at a time manually and it shows in iTunes, the new Album Art Dir updates with new stuff. but nothing for the screen saver. Good idea in principle, kinda bad in excuction is my thoughts right now. Hope for a fix soon.

  • Album artwork info and help

    Hi all,
i have a question, when iTunes find itself album images, everything is ok, i transfer music on iPod and images are correctly displayed. Th e problems is when iTuns can't find it , so i find it by mysel, I select all the songs and from the information window i add the image.
Now i have two questions: why these images added with the second method aren't transfered on iPod?
Why iTunes added images are added in iTunes db (so i have One single image for all the records) and no space is occupupied by ten or more pictures as when i add them manually?
    I hope i've been clear..
    thanks
    bye
    p.

Unless Itunes has the specific album or song then it can't download the artwork for it, so you need to find the artwork covers and then put them in manually. I rip my Cd's with windows media player 11 which adds in the art and then I use it to add to the albums in Itunes.
Here is a link to explain how to add in artwork manually to songs or albums in itunes..

  • Album Artwork problems on iTunes

Please, I need some help here. Here's what I'm trying to to if possible.
I have many music videos that belong to a certain album (ex. Loose/Nelly Furtado - Say It Right, Promiscous, Maneater) so I would like to assign a general ALBUM ART for all the videos belonging to this album but I would also like to assign different ALBUM ART for each song. Is that possible on iTunes?
I have had problems with iTunes 7.4.2 as well. I cannot delete ARTWORK so it becomes clear. I hit "GET INFO" and under "ALBUM ARTWORK" I manually delete it then the Coverflow goes blank for a second and the same artwork is back there. I tried to delete whatever is under the iTunes folder but the same thing happens. Any ideas or just a buggy iTunes version.
Another thing... Coverflow for videos??? Mine doesn't show anything and it doesn't work horizontally.
Any ideas and comments would be greatly appreciated.

I tried the unsuncing and re-yncing trick  - did not work for me either.   The album artwork would change, but most of the titles were still wrong.     What I finally had to do was unsync artwork, overwrite old backup with a new one (with app organization, contacts etc, saved, but nothing else)
Then restore to the factory settings by clicking restore in itunes  -
After iOS reinstalls from scratch, restore to the backup of your apps and contacts you did before the OS restore.
Then try syncing just your playlists to validate, this worked for me.   After that I uploaded the rest of my albums and everything is cool now.
As for why this happens in the first place, it's likely a corrupting of the music or artwork database of sorts.   Before doing any of the restoration, look in your music directory and clean up any titles of artists with unicode characters, or underscores before the names.
I had one album with Japanese characters, and a few others that Itunes prefaces with underscores to avoid duplicate album or artist names.    I suspect somethign like that may play a role in the problem.

  • Album Artwork Problems

All of my album artwork appears normal and complete in iTunes, but after updating much of it and re-syncing I have issues with how it displays on my iPod Touch (4th generation). Many of the songs display the artwork incorrectly and some albums don't display the artwork unless I jump through some hoops each time. Watch this video I made to see what I mean by that.
    Any suggestions?

Ugh I have this problem too. When I put songs on my iPod (new or old) and try to add artwork, it doesn't let me on my iTunes and doesn't show up on my iPod. I am getting so irritated, how do I fix it? And also, when I go to my list of artists, it sometimes lists the same person twice. And not because they have a song featuring someone, it will just list the artist twice in a row. I have the newest version of iTunes and the newest software update on my iPod so I don't know what to do...

  • Album artwork problem--can anyone help?

I have a wierd thing happening with my album artwork. All of the artwork is correct in ITunes, and the artwork appears correct when I hold my Itouch lengthwise. However, when I hold my Itouch vertically (i.e. with the button at the bottom) the album art is messed up. For example, I have an U2 album that only displays the art correctly when I hold it side-to-side. Vertically, the album art is blank when I display the album, and when I play the songs I get a cut screen, top half of which is an old Christmas album I've deleted and the bottom of which is art for a television series that I purchased. What's the deal? Is there any way for me to get my album art displaying correctly?

I think I have found a solution. Although it is not 100% guarantee it will work, at least it helps keep my artwork stable.
For PC (I don't have a Mac), right click on the song(s) that causes you problem, convert ID3 tag to version 1.0 (back to basic, eh).
Then edit the tag (if necessary, and add artwork. If it is not fixed, repeat the process one more time.
The key is converting the ID3 tag to the most basic version.

  • Album Artwork problems, extra beginning clips to songs...

Anytime I try to add album artwork to a song or group of songs, the song will add 3 seconds to itself, so it will start, get 3 seconds in, and then start over. And sometimes it will do this and not show the artwork.
Example, tried to add a picture to Sexyback, kept adding 3 seconds to the beginning of song. This is the latest version of itunes also.
It seems as though if i just add the artwork to the ipod it doesn't always do this. I've never had this problem before...anyone help?

  • OVi Suite Album Artwork Problem

I have installed Ivi suite 3.0.0.250 and I am aslo running I,Tunes version 10 which stores all my music.. I have changed the music folder option in Ovi Suite to use the  I.Tines folder and aslo instructed Ovi  to watch the I tunes music folder for any new changes.
Whilst Ovi suite has detected and shows all the music from itunes it has not brought over all the album artwork. this appears to be completly random. There is (as far as i can see) no wayof adding the missing artwork in the ovi suite. The artwork shows perfectly in I Tunes and on my I Pod
I have deleted all 28000+ tracks once and tried again but it has made no difference.
I would like to use Ovi rather than itunes to create and sync a playlist to my Nokia C7, but will not do so whilst this problem persists.
I run windows xp, I Tunes Version 10 and Ovi suite 3.0.0.250

Hi, i have a C7 and when i downloaded music files to it using Ovi Suite none of the album art appeared on the phone. I replaced a N85 with this phone and on the N85 there is an option to replace the album art with any image. The C7 doesn't seem to have this option. Anyway after trying a few things i still could not get any artwork on the phone so i installed Ovi Player and used this program to download the music to the phone and it worked perfectly with all the proper artwork installed. You could try this program and seeing that you have a lot of music it might be better for you. All the best

  • Can't delete some album artwork & put in new album artwork

When I got this new iPod (had an older one, pre-color) I used the feature that loads album artwork for you. Fine & dandy, except some of the artwork it found is wrong, wrong, wrong. For instance one of them says "Pure 80s!" which is not the original album's artwork (although, yes, it is an 80s song). I cannot for the life of me get rid of that album cover even though I "delete" it and put the correct album cover in it's place. Any help on this, or am I stuck with "Pure 80s!" instead of the real cover art from the original album the song was on? Argh!! (been trying to fix this intermitantly for several months). This is just one instance, there are several others like this and it drives me bonkers because I'm kind of anal.

Let me clarify one thing. When plugged into the computer & itunes, the album artwork IS correct. When I disconnect and the ipod is on it's own, the artwork is INcorrect.
Also, I don't sync because I use my laptop which doesn't have enough memory to hold all my music. I do load everything onto an external harddrive, but that is incase of a catastrophic emergency and the whole thing needs to be redone.

  • Itunes album artwork problem on 11.4.0.18

Recently after the update to iTunes 11.4.0.18 I've noticed my album artwork not displaying correctly for some albums.  They appear jumbled, but only the album thumbnail.  I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with an AMD processor & 8GB of RAM.
If you right click on a song in an album that appears to have a jumbled thumbnail, and click on Get Info, the album artwork appears perfectly fine in the summary tab as well as the artwork tab.  I've tried deleting the artwork then choosing get artwork for that particular album.  In most cases this has worked, with a few giving a message that artwork could not be found.  I've tried copying the artwork from the Get Info>Artwork tab, deleting it, then pasting it again and this also seems to take care of the problem when viewing the album thumbnail.  It's just crazy having to do this for each and every album that is displaying a jumbled artwork thumbnail.
Anyone come across this in v11.4.0.18?  Is there an easier way to fix this thumbnail problem than going through each and every album that seems messed up?

I can't see your image, but what may work is to delete the folder Album Artwork and then scroll through the entire library in Albums view.

  • Album Artwork Drag and Drop issue

    Good morning all,
After struggling with this last evening for some time I have decided it's time to ask the pros.
In iTunes I used to be able to drag and drop album artwork. So, for instance, I would just go and google the album image I was looking for and then take that jpg and drop it in to whichever album is missing that particular cover on the main album screen.
What seems to be happening now though is that iTunes thinks every jpg I try to drag over is actually a podcast and it takes that album cover and places it under "Podcasts"
I know I could just go into the album properties and add the album art that way but this was just so much simpler.
Any thoughts? Writing this in a hurry as well so please let me know if I need to be more specific.
    Thanks
    Chu

That does not exist - the workaround (maybe permanent solution - who knows) is
    File menu ==> export
And BTW if you are not backingup all the time you are 100% guarenteed to lose all of your files and photos sooner or later

  • ITunes Album Artwork Problem. Help?

I recently installed iTunes onto my new laptop, and the album artwork for all my songs comes out slightly discolored, in that it is a hue of pink. What's even stranger is that the album artwork seen on the bottom left corner shows the artwork in it's right colors. I've tried to calibrate the colors on my screen in my settings, but nothing seems to be working. Oh, and my new laptop is running on Windows 8. Help?
P.S. Don't mind my choice of music, I was helping my little sister put music on her iPhone :3

Here's the Apple article on that
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1815
The important line is "If the data matches, iTunes will download the album artwork".
What it doesn't say is, "if the Apple database is wrong, you'll get the wrong artwork".
Try getting the correct cover for +Led Zeppelin I+ - impossible. They had Mothership listed under Lead Zeppelin for a while.
I agree with the other comment; just get those 40 covers from somewhere else, rather than find out how it is listed in the Apple database.
