New aliases crash apache

Looking to see if any of you folks have come across this, every time I add an alias via server admin (running server 10.4.10 and server admin 10.4.7) Apache crashes and I have to copy over the http.conf with a back up. Though this is a easy fix its kind of a pain as i have short term memory issues and always forget.
any tips would be awesome
thanks

Thank you!   I have ead every thread & Knowledge Doc I could find,  I have called Apple and I have asked at the Apple Store,  NO ONE told me this.  Rolling out features I understand, however being offered the option to create aliases then repeatedly being told
with no explanation is exaspertaing!  How hard would it be to post a notice in the DIscussion Boards, if not into the iCloud Mail alias creating sequence?  Think of waste of time & the annoyance caused, the complaints in Discussion Board & the phone calls to Apple that could be avoided.  Poor management.  When Google rolls out new features they post the fact that features are rolling out & you will have to wait a bit.
Feh.

  • My new Mac crashed. Have difficulties reinstalling CS6

My new mac crashed. They installed a new hard drive. I'm trying to reinstall my CS6, I have the serial number. But the systems says that the code is invalid. What must I do? Must also say that finding a download page is difficult... I know how to go to my Adobe id and find my products and serial number, but from there I don't find a download page. Plus, because of the crash, I can't deinstall the first version. Thanks for helping!

Contact support by web chat if you have serial number issues.

  • PHP crashing Apache process on 10.6.x

I have the stock Snow Leopard versions of Apache and PHP enabled on my iMac (a 2006 running the current 10.6.8).  It is set up for local development testing only (host entries like mysite.local 127.0.0.1 and Apache config entries), and things generally work fine.  However, occasionally I'll load a PHP file, edit the source code (using BBEdit), and quickly switch back to the browser and reload.  Every now and then the reload takes a few seconds longer than it should, and it turns out the httpd process handling it had crashed (and presumably was restarted).  The crash logs generally look like this:
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: 0x000000000000000d, 0x0000000000000000

My guess is that apache or php has cached the script file or a file system reference to it, or something related to it, and editing change/save somehow invalidates this without its knowing, or the browser refresh comes so quickly after the save it hasn't received some notification from the file system.  This has happened over a year or two with whatever versions of apache/php were current with OSX 10.6.x at the time - it isn't new, and in my case it is more of a nuisance than a showstopper.
I was just wondering if anyone else has ever run into the same issue - I'd be interested to know if it goes away with Lion, for instance, or if anyone has seen something similar with custom builds of PHP.

  • New iMac crashes, start up problems, flicker screen...

Purchased iMac four months ago. It seems to be a bit flaky – as a life-long and loyal user of Apple, not what I was expecting! Often have problems crashing or hard disc error messages at start up. Flickering screen.
Also not sure that I got everything that I requested at the store – I had asked for an additional back up drive in store when ordered and I've looked on my iMac and it doesn't seem to have this. Currently backing up to iCloud and on DVDs to make sure I don't lose anything if my computer gives up the ghost and dies!
Bit disappointed really. Never had problems with any Apple products before and saved up for quite a while to upgrade my very old G4 (which still runs like a dream, and only updated because it's operating system became incompatible with latest software updates) to a new iMac (which seems a bit buggy).
Asked around and a few people have found iMac to be less reliable than previous Apple computers. Anyone else have problems with iMac seeming less stable?

Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.
You'll have to take up the missing backup drive with the sellers. The iMac doesn't come with one.

  • New iMac crashes permanently - bluetooth problem?

    Hi all,
my new iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) is constantly crashing, especially after the execution of a particular gesture on the Magic Trackpad. The crash after moving the scroll wheel on a wired Apple mouse has so far occurred only once. After the phone call with the Apple support I have deleted and reinstalled the system and then copied the data from an old system from a Time Machine backup, and reinstalled my programs.
Unfortunately, the problems are still there. These are the results of EtreCheck:

  • Why does my new PSE12 crash after about 1 minute?

I used PSE8 for several years successfully, on a desktop running WinXP. Always reliable, if a little slow backing up etc with my huge (75K images) catalog.
My brand new desktop now runs Win7, 64 bit. It is a high-spec machine. I bought PSE12 and converted my old PSE8 catalog. For a while, PSE12 worked OK, even though it took a couple of days to generate all the thumbnails for my large catalog.
Suddenly, it started crashing after around 1 minute - even if I do nothing. I uninstalled the old PSE8 - still the same problem. I uninstalled / reinstalled PSE12 - still the same.
Feeling somewhat desperate as I dare not backup my catalog, or even add new images, as the software will inevitably crash part-way through. And am going on holiday soon, with camera!
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
If it was working but now fails, it could be a problem with your catalog.
I would suggest you try repairing and optimizing it
    Load the organizer
From the File menu, select Manage Catalogs - that should open the Catalog Manager.
Select you current catalog and click on the Repair button
When that has finished, click on the Optimize button
When that is done, click on the Cancel button to close the Catalog Manager.
If it crashes before you can get into the Catalog Manager, start the organizer while holding down the shift key - that should go straight into the Catalog Manger - resume at step 3 above.
    Good luck
    Brian

  • New MenuElement() crashes Photoshop

    Hello Friendly Fellow Scripters:
I'm pretty new to the world of CS 2 scripting, and I'm trying to insert a menu item in the Photoshop File Menu.
To get familar with the MenuElement class, I tried this example found in the Bridge Javascript Reference:
    var newMenu = new MenuElement( "menu", "MyMenu", "after Help", "myMenu" );
    var alertCommand = new MenuElement( "command", "Alert", "at the end of myMenu", "myAlert" );
This script works in Bridge, but conistently crashes Photoshop. Is it really not possible to modify the menu's in Photoshop? I've looked through the installed scripts, and haven't found any where a menu item is added to Photoshop. The docs lead me to believe that what I'm trying to do should be possible:
"ScriptUI objects are available to JavaScript scripts for the following applications:
    ? Adobe Photoshop CS2
    ? Adobe Bridge CS2"
I'm using a Mac G4 Powerbook (OS X 10.4.7) and the ExtendScript Tookit to do my testing.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    John

No, I never got any answers and after finding out that the fax won't work on this printer unless I have my answering machine in my office hooked DIRECTLEY to the printer, I took it back anyway. But this Photoshop thing has happened on 2 different printers I have tried... Canon & Brother. It is a common problem out there and I think I will have to suck it up and go back to HP printers because so far these other brands are not cutting it for me.
Let me know if you find an answer for the Photoshop problem as I am out of town for awhile and planning on buying ANOTHER printer when I get home... I have always used HP, but was trying to break away from their ridicuoulous ink prices, but I give up. If Photoshop works with a new HP printer, I'll let you know!

  • New G560 crashes every few minutes windows 7 BSOD 0x00000124

We just bought the new G560 using windows 7.
    The system crashed after the first 10 minutes with a BSOD;
    it crashes constantly/every few minutes.
    The code is 0x00000124
I see comments from others that this is a hardware conflict.
This is a laptop started crashing right away during our first moments of opening an IE browser.
There were any changes and no added software.
We have since made sure it has all the current Microsoft updates but the problem continues.
I don't find any other users of this new laptop with any postings but it looks like it has a serious problem right out of the box. No clues to be found here or in the Microsoft site.
Can anyone help- let me know if there is any more info I can add to the thread

    @ tenmnd
if you have any mini dump file, please, upload
( copy the recent two or three files from c:\windows\minidump to desktop then upload somewhere on the web, like rapidshare.com )

  • Changing Datasource and New Aliases in CRystal Reports 11

<p>I am in the process of converting from Crystal 7 to Crystal 11. In existing reports that have been saved in 11, I need to point to new tables. After pointing to a new table I get error messages saying that it does not know the fields used in the report and prompts me to change all the aliases in all the formulas and fields used on the report. I checked the documentation and it looks like I have to do this manually. In older versions, you could change the alias and it would go through and make all the changes in the formulas and fields.</p><p>Could it be possible that a new version has removed a great feature?? Not only did I have to manually change the aliases - but doing so removed all the field names from the report - very annoying!! I have several reports where new tables are being used and will have to be changed and this task could be a disaster. </p><p> Has anyone encountered this or know of a way around it??</p><p><br />Thanks,</p><p>Anne</p>

It took me a while, but I figured it out.  Click on Database - Database Expert.  The directions for changing the alias should be displayed (click the table name on the right and press F2).

  • Logging in to iCloud on new phone crashes to home.

When I try to log in to icloud on the new phone (6) it crashes to the home screen each time and does not log in.  I can log in to my iCloud account on the web and I can see that my old device shows as still logged in.  Funny thing is that I did an erase all settings successfully and turned that phone in to Verizon so it is not possible I am still logged in.  Or is it?
I have tried the "log out of all browsers option but that does not work either.  I am stuck, I cannot use icloud on my new phone...
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    ck

Delete the account, then sign back in with the correct ID.  (Deleting the account only deletes it from your device, not from iCloud.)
If you are using iOS 7, when you delete the account you will have to provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Mod_plsql crashes Apache 1.3.12 if DB session crashes

mod_plsql in each Apache child connects to the DB creating a DB session. We then have to stop and then start the webserver in order to get things going again.
How is mod_plsql supposed to function when a DB session crashes ?

  • New mac crashed

long story short: bought my parents a new imac for christmas and spent the last month creating a family website for them on it. the other day it crashed. apple gave me a new one, and they were able to provide me with the web files (including the domain file). but when i loaded it and tried to pick up where i left off, the entire thing looks wonky (question marks all over it, incorrect template format, etc.). i'm going to lose it if i have to start over after a solid month of work on this. help? thanks

    the url is
    http://web.mac.com/pfyanco/iWeb/yanco%20family%20test%20Site/Welcome.html
(un - yanco, pw - family)
the only page that looks as it should is:
    http://web.mac.com/pfyanco/iWeb/yanco%20family%20test%20Site/Harry%27s%20Family. html
and that's only because i recreated that page from scratch (so the templates work when adding new pages)
