I think that good test is a way to go but you should ask several types of users for instance there are illustrators that use illustrator, web designers, map makers, graphic designers and so on.
You should try to get perhaps a cross sectiion of users.
However you might attract other users if you have these to user currently contributing to this thread.
You could probaly get them to help you with a list of a dozen or so users that would fit the bill.
One more thing if that is an email you use often I would hide it with a link rather than letting it out in the open like tht since the forum is monitored by software mining hackers who collect email for the purpose of spamming, although it is not clear what the purpose of the spam is exactly.
Next time perhaps ask for thoise interested to send you a private message which is a safer way initially.

Typically this is a problem when the sender creates the file with an extension that you, as the recipient, can not open.    What is the file extension?
Is it .docx?  If so, that requires MS Office Word 2010 or newer.  MS Office Word versons circa 1997-2003 used .doc as the file extension. The default in 2010 is .docx  There is an option within the save-as to select the older .doc extension.

  • Looking to Buy a New All-In-One Printer

I am looking to buy a new all-in-one Printer.
I have been using the Epson RX620 for a little over a year and have had great print results. Unfortunately I get a warning message yesterday that the printer needs servicing and nothing will work. After getting much less than desirable results from their Customer Support I am moving away from Epson, after three different Epson printers.
I have heard many good things about Canon printers. We will be printing bunches and bunches of photos(two small daughters + graphic artist wife = many, many photos). I am presently looking at the Canon MP600. Any goods or bads about said printer?
We do want a printer that can use cheap cartridges so HP is out of the question. Any other recommendations is appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
    Nick

The only thing that ****** me off about Epson is that they shut down their toll free phone tech support!
I had to rely on their email support to set up my new Epson printer (CD/DVD loading tray) which wasn't so bad as it was very detailed & hands on. I just couldn't understand their manual. I was having one of my "senior moment" days.
Those Canon printers are handsome! I almost ended up getting one. But, the Epson printers won because they are the only ones who can print directly on CD/DVDs & all the software is included.

  • Are there any new All-in-one printers for sale that use the CLI-221 cartridges?

We have a MX870 Printer that needs to be replaced but new cartridges were just purchased from Canon.  Are there any new All-in-one printers for sale that use the CLI-221 cartridges?
    Thanks,
    Margaret

The MX922 (known as the MX926 in Australia) is supported by 10.10 and Windows 7. Whatever site you were looking at may not have updated their details. Here is a link from the Canon Australia web site showing the drivers and applications for this model for 10.10.

If it's not an Airprint enabled printer, you can not natively through your iPad.  BUT, there are apps you can purchase in the App Store, like Print Central ($9), which is what I use myself and works well for my needs.

With new windows 7 (64) drivers installed on an ASUS notebook G74Sx series & upgraded from an earlier XP install.
Solution center indicates my hp 7310 all-in-one is green checked & noted as ready, but will not allow auto print on both sides when it did with XP driver on old computer.
I have removed page turner, cleaned contacts then reinstalled with no resolution.
When trying to resolve & printer tool box button is pressed - nothing happens, dosen't open, plus another less important issue that bears mention is that it will not show ink levels with HP cartridges installed.

  • Looking for new All in One. Is Officejet as good as Photosmart? Please recommend an All in One.

I have the HP Photosmart C7180 All in One that's a few years old and is starting to give me a lot of errors (mostly ink level errors).  I'm thinking about replacing it, because I want one that doesn't use as much ink -- and one that has a bigger scanner bed (at least 11 x 14 or bigger).  I'm a budding artist and I want to have the ability to scan in my drawings.
However, I do print a few photos now and then.  Does anyone know if Officejets will print decent pictures?
Please recommend an All in One (the newer the better) for my needs.

Thanks! It sounds like a potential nightmare. Does
anyone have a different experience? I'm not
committed to an all-in-one, but it does save space.
If you're willing to take time and effort into the process, HP's MFDs and Brother's MFDs work... mostly. HP has even improved their drivers. It took 'em long enough.
No, I repeat, no MFD I've ever seen has been trouble-free, Mac or Windows. That includes Epson, Canon, HP, Brother, and (ugggh!) Lexmark devices. They all give problems. Not necessarily the same problems, but problems. HPs and Brothers give the least trouble with Epson a close third... but YMMV. I know people who swear by Canon, while in my personal experience Canon devices have been... not so good. But it was a limited sample, and maybe I had lemons.
Most MFDs (that is, everyone but Brother) don't easily do networking unless it's a Specific Feature™. My HP PSC1350, for instance, does not believe that such a thing as a network exists, and is that way if connected to Macs or Windows machines. I can make it visible over the network, but it's a pain.
If you want wireless network printing, get a wireless router (hint: Apple sells something called an AirPort Base Station) or access point which has a USB port and supports putting printers on the network. Note that you'll likely not be able to scan over the network.
There are network MFDs; HP makes some. They're expensive. The OfficeJet 74xx is $500, and it's the cheap HP network MFD. I do NOT own one, so I have no idea how well they work, other than they're HPs... which means that the hardware will probably be excellent, and the software dreck.

  • Good News All-In-One has been updated for CS-6

You can now go to All-In-One website and get the update to their programs so that they will now work in Photoshop CS6.  I was able to get the download last week after talking to the technician and received an e-mail today that the update is available for both 32 and 64 mode.

    Thanks for the news Nancy!

  • Xcode 4 new all in one app, first time startup

    Hello dears,
since v4.3 (I think), Xcode comes in an "all in one app", without installer package.
While starting  Xcode.app  for the first time, a window appears commenting to install additional resources.
Does anyone know the install path of these resources ?
    Thank you much!

    Thanks KT,
I dont mean the resources from the Xcode menu.
I mean the installs that are necessary and performing at the (only) first start of Xcode.
Reason, I like to check, where they are, and how much, in case of using a SSD and maybe trying a simlink.
Ok, I could test it, overwriting Xcode with a new file from the image.
If the install procedure comes up again, I seems to be located in the app itself.

  • Audio Stopped Working - New All-In-One Touch screen Win 8

I have a new HP Envy Touch Smart All-In-ONE PC with Windows 8. I went to listen to audio on a youtube video, but I got no sound. At first I thought the volume had been turned down or muted, but after checking everything I know to check, I still have no audio. I have tried Windows support.
    Any ideas?

Without knowing the exact model of the PC I suspect you may need the IDT Audio update.  You can get this by manually running Windows Update - look for the Optional updates.   The update in question is called "IDT - Audio Device - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC".   Windows Update does not install "optional" updates automatically.
Other Envy 23 users have experienced "No Audio" issues and this update has resolved many of the issues.

    Hello @dean74,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I have read your post on how your brand new desktop computer is experiencing slow Internet. Are you other wireless devices experiencing a similar issue? Does this occur with more than one browser?
In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on Windows 8 stops responding or becomes very slow after connecting to the Internet. This should help improve the speed of your computer's browsing capabilities.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Looking for a new all in one printer

Our m2727 all in one printer has died.  It had a pretty good run so we are looking for another HP.
This printer gets a pretty good workout.
Any suggestions?  B&W.  Must have scan and fax capability.  Need something reliable obviously.
    thanks!

    ChrisPbass,
I would suggest contacting HP Home & Home Office. They will be able to narrow down the field to what would be best for your particular use. There number is below.

  • New all-in-one running slowly

I have an HP Envy 23-o014 all-in-one touchsmart computer running Windows 8.1.
I have noticed that whenever I am loading up webpages, my mouse moves very slowly as if I am bogging the computer down too much. The webpages are also slow to load at that time. My internet connection is fine as we also have a much older and less powerful laptop that will perform the same actions without any issues. Every so often, my display will also black out for a second or two and resume what I was doing.

    Hello again @theNurseNancy,
I was looking further into your issue when I noticed that your computer came with Windows 8 and you are running Windows 8.1. I have to ask if you have installed the drivers for your computer running Windows 8.1? If not they can be found at the HP ENVY 23-o014 All-in-One Desktop PC Drivers page. I would advise that you start with the Chipset drivers and then install ALL the drivers available to you to ensure that you are running the most current drivers for your computer. When you are done this I would like you to also run the Windows Updates on your computer and ensure that they are completely up to date as well.
If after you have ensured that ALL your drivers and Windows Updates are installed you are still having the same issue I would suspect that the Windows 8.1 update may have caused the problem and not have been correctly installed. I would recommend that we do a backup and recovery of your computer back to factory and try the update again. To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.
Once you have completed the above steps I would like you to ensure that you have installed ALL the Windows 8 drivers from the HP ENVY 23-o014 All-in-One Desktop PC Drivers page. Once you have done this I would like you to review the Windows Support document: Update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8, which will walk you through all the steps required to install the Windows 8.1 update correctly.
If after doing all this you are still experiencing the same latency issue I know you do not want to be dismissed to phone support as you put it, but we have ruled out ALL software issues by wiping everything out and starting over and you are still getting the same problem and you may have a hardware issue that needs to be addressed. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • Buying new all-in-one printer- canon pixma series?

    hi!
i really wanna replace my hp 5610 with a better, faster printer.
    * fax
    * duplex (feeder ofc) scanner
    * duplex printing
    * five ink cartridges (not combined)
    * network access: ethernet OR wifi. which will connect to the router; wireless or wired.
    **cheap black ink**
well, i checked out canon pixma series. the real problem is that i dont know what "mac support" mean. at my hp 5610, hp say the printer is mac cimpatible. but as i worked with windows and mac, i can honestly say the mac support is as good as nothing... just to add "mac supported" at the features.
i am a student so i will print much @ black. plus i always scan my papers so i really need duplex scaning too.
what do you say about the canon pixma mx860 model?
if you can recommend other models (*not HP!!!!*) i will love to know.
    thanks!

I would actually recommend the [PIXMA MX870|http://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/For-You/Printers/PIXMA-InkJet-Printers/MX870].
It has 5 individual tanks with a high volume black tank for text printing.
    Duplex document feeder
    Wireless or Ethernet support
Mac OS X printer and scanner driver included as part of Apple Software Update
well my hp (which *****) also have "mac support" via apple software update. the peoblem is that its features lacking and even the simplest operations like increasing brightness/contrast are missing.
i would prefer the manufacturer's software is its full featured + ofc mac supported.

I am very happy with my MX 850, a predecessor. I use it for most of my printing, except that I have a color laser printer for really big jobs. I suspect that the cost of consumables is comparable on both printers, as 5-8 ink cartridges print about the same as a laser cartridge, and cost about the same as well. Maybe the laser is a bit more expensive, when the other consumables are taken into account.
Scanning is very convenient. I also use the printer as a card reader, although the computer cannot write to them.
do you use canons software or the apple built-in? can you set a new profile with higher brightness+higher contrast?
what about the duplex feature? for scanning? works well? fast? those kind of details usually arent taking into consideration either at specs nor reviews
