New Apple Loops aren't showing in Loops Library.

After adding gigs of sample libraries to the Apple Loop folder this morning, only the drums/drum kits of those libraries are showing in Logic's loop library. I've already deleted all of the index files, reindexed the library several times, and it's still not showing anything other than drums, even though in Finder, all of my samples are there. AIFF and Wav.
My sample libraries added prior to this morning still work. I have over 120 gigs of samples. I'm not sure if Logic has issues with large libraries or not, but this is a bit frustrating. Maybe someone can help? Thanks.

It does not work. Mav even if the files are converted to AIFF it can only be seen in the Apple Loops Utility. You can not see them in Loops browser in Logic.
Give me better way !

  • Menu option: Add to Apple Loops Library

    Hi,
I'm using David Nahmani's Logic Pro lesson book for level 1 certification. In this lesson (lesson 7 on page 264), when I open the "Add to Apple Loops Library" window, the items TYPE and SCALE should be choosable, but they are grayed out.
As the book indicates, to turn a region into an Apple Loop it must be a whole integer in length. The one I created is. It's a two bar region, just as the book told me to create, from 5 1 1 1 to 7 1 1 1, which the help tag also indicates.
Continuing on in the lesson anyway, with the TYPE and SCALE choices not accessible, results in an Apple Loop that is different than what the results in the book show in three ways. In the Loop Browser, when searching for and finding my newly created Apple Loop, 1) The tempo information column should indicate the tempo 73, but it indicates 0. 2) The % results column should indicate 98%, but it indicates 0%, and 3) the "Play in" pulldown menu should alter the key of the loop, but all choices result in the same original key. I don't know why the TYPE and SCALE items were grayed out, and I don't know why the other problems are occurring as well.
There are 5-6 other basic components to this that I rechecked over and over to make sure I was following the directions exactly and it seems I have. If anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate hearing them.
    Thank you,
    Aaron

  • Logic 9 Pro won't load apple loops library or EXS24 Instruments!

    First off, specs:
    I'm running 9.1.8 on OSX 10.8.2
I recently purchased a brand new 13" MacBook Pro (early this december) and used migration assistant to transfer my accounts, apps, and such from my old hard drive to my new one. Everything seems to be in its place and running fine, except for Logic 9 Pro.
Whenever I load up a session featuring the EXS24 sampler, the loading bar will hang up upon loading the instrument, eventually turn into the spinning wheel of death, and become unresponsive. This also happens when I create a new session, open up a new instance of EXS24, and attempt to load a patch. All of the other stock Apple instruments load up just fine.
I also noticed that Logic can't locate my Apple Loops Library, as every option in the loop browser is grayed out. I went into my library folder and found the EXS patches as well as the Apple loops, so I know they're there!
Unfortunately, I don't have a Logic 9 CD (It came preinstalled on my previous computer), so to my knowledge reinstallation isn't an option, unless there's a way to reinstall Logic 9 without a CD and without losing my license. I've already tried the following to resolve this issue:
    - Reindexing spotlight
    - Reindexing loop browser
    - Disabling spotlight on the volume where the Logic files reside
    - Deleting the Logic 9 preference file
If anyone has any insight or a way to reinstall Logic 9 Pro without a CD and without losing my license, it'd be greatly appreciated!

    Hi
You probably need to re-index the Loop Library.
In Logic 9 control click on the Loop Library and choose "Reindex"
In Logic X use the Loops Menu at the top and again, choose "ReIndex".
If that does not do it, you may need to manually remove the Index files

  • Bought a New Apple TV, however nothing shows up on my Panasonic TX-32LXD70A , does anyone know why?

Bought a New Apple TV, however nothing shows up on my Panasonic TX-32LXD70A , does anyone know why?

I'd probably pass on getting the 2008 repaired, it will probably be prohibitiviely expensive. You can always take it back and get an estimate from your Apple Store or local AASP to get specifics. If the machine still runs but only has that one problem then just continue using it until it dies.

  • Where are my new Apple loops hiding?

    Hello all . . .
    I will probably learn that I am a complete idiot, but . . .
I just bought and installed my first Jam Pack loops: the Symphonic Orchestra loops. I am still with GB1 because what I really use is Logic Express 7. ( The Jam Pack box does say in tiny type that I need GB2 for the Symphonic package, which I didn't notice initially.)
What has happened is that 30-some new Symphonic software instruments have installed fine. I can use them in LExpress although not in GB, because (it appears) they need the EXSP24 sample player. Logic has it; Garage Band 1 doesn't. OK. Cool.
But wouldn't the advertised 2,000+ new loops be in here somewhere? Right now, they don't show up in the Loop Browser in either GB or LExpress. I've checked the Library > > > Apple Loops folder. It shows 1,006 loops in the folder, which sounds like the loops that came with GB1. The installation DVDs don't provide an option for simply dragging a folder of loops to the desktop, then to the GB Loop Browser for indexing. (Everything is submerged in the installation process.)
I don't mind buying an iLife upgrade with a later version of GB, if that's what I need to do. But I wonder if the loops aren't in here somewhere?
Thanks for any help to this bonehead!
    Rick

That was it! Perfect! Thank you!
    Thing o' beauty, in'it?
And did I mention I would probably feel like an idiot?
Naww, don't be silly, if you were an idiot my post would have been meaningless to you.
Glad it helped, and glad everything is working for you! Have fun.
--HangTime [Will Compute for Food] %-|>
(BTW, GB2 really is a brilliant upgrade from GB1. GB3 really doesn't add anything for music creators, but it does mean that used copies of GB2 might be found cheap. Just one nobody's 2¢ %-|> ) --HT

  • New Apple Loop Created at Wrong BPM?

    Hi,
I've beat mapped an audio region, which adjusted the project tempo to about 122.5 BPM, which is the correct value.
I've trimmed the region to an even number of bars, and exported it as an Apple Loop as I have always done in the past.
However, when I go to open it up in the media browser, it says the BPM is 95, which is wrong. When I make it follow the tempo of another project which is also around 122.5, it makes it way too fast (it over-compensates since it thinks the loop is at 95BPM). I've tried it in the Apple Loops utility, and the same thing happens.
Any help is very much appreciated!

Set the permissions on the other volume's root directory the same as the boot volume.
    owner:root
    group:admin
    chmod 1775
Make a /Users directory on the other volume and
set permissions same as on the boot volume,
    owner:root
    group:admin
    chmod 755
create your new user directory in the /Users directory on the other volume.

  • My new Apple id does not show in I tunes

my original ID was an @me.com account however when I forgot my password to this account I changed my Apple ID to @live.co.uk and is saved as this unfortunately my I tunes sign in box still pops up with my old user account details of @me.com and so I can't log into I tunes to get updates etc as it tells me that my account has been disabled - how do I get I tunes to accept my new Apple ID - this has been driving me nuts for months so any help with this will be very much appreciated.

All content that you download from the store are tied to the account that downloaded it, only that account can download updates to its apps (and potentially redownload its purchases).
You can log out of an account by tapping on it at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app, or in Settings > iTunes & App Store, and you can then log in with a different account.
But as you created a new account you will need to get your old account re-enabled to download updates to the old account's apps - or delete the apps and repurchase and download them with your new account. You might be able to re-enable the old account via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password' (and then log out and back into the account on your iPad as above, so as to 'refresh' the account on it)
If that doesn't fix it then contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • New Apple TV won't show video on new TV.  Old Apple TV worked fine.

I had two Apple TVs. One is hooked up via an HDMI to DVI cable to an old DLP TV. I wanted to see if the new one would work with the DLP TV. It did, and had no issues.
Then I hook it up to a 1-year-old TV via HDMI to HDMI. I get "Unsupported Video" on the display! I'm using the same setup as the old Apple TV to the same TV.
The white light is solid. I reset the AppleTV it flashed rapidly, and still does not work. If I unplug the cable, it says, "no device connected".
Again, old one works on the TV. New one does not.
    What's the issue?

Thanks for the suggestion. I remember having issues with some video modes on the ATV1. I confirmed in the manual that my new TV does do 720p at 60Hz, and up to 1080p at 60Hz on the HDMI inputs.
I brought the ATV2 back to the old TV, and it works fine. Does not appear to be any way to select video modes on the ATV2, like there were on the ATV1. No way to select modes on the TV either.

I can't even purchase them again...which I'd be willing to do if I could because I've had to do that in the past.  But I can't even do that now.  I'd like either a credit on my account or a way to get these songs!

  • Missing / No "Apple Loops Index" Folder of TXT Files

I've been having a weird issue for a while now, even after doing a clean install of Yosemite again. It seems I've never had an Apple Loops Index folder in my Macbook's Library, and even when I make one from scratch in the proper location and run a loops re-index from both LPX and GarageBand, no .txt index files are made. I've never seen the folder or files before. The reason why I'm asking about this is because I've had some issues with missing Apple Loops folders that I definitely have in my HD library, but they won't show up. Many support forums advised trashing the Apple Loops Index text files and re-indexing, but I have no way of finding this folder. Has anyone experienced this or read any similar issue reports?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Loops reside in a few files.
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops
~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops (if you installed any thiord party guys)
    The index files are here:
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index
    ~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index
To move the loops to an external drive:
    1. Move all of the loops from the Apple Loops folders above and move them to the external drive.
    2. Delete all of the Index files.
    3. Use the Loop Browser to reindex the loops from the new drive.
Be sure to drag the loops as individual folders (in other words if you store them in a folder called loops and then have groups of loops under that) if you don't, you will have one large group instead of several smaller ones. It makes it easier to find what you want.

  • GarageBand '11 (6.0.5) How to reinstall MagicGB & Apple Loop Package?

    Alright,
Up until the newest update to OSX Mavericks (10.9) I was able to use Magic Garageband & Apple Loops Library with the free added content that it prompted me the first time I used it, which was about 1.5 gigs of content it downloaded directly from Apple. Now since the clean install of the new OS on both my late 2012 Mac Book Pro and late 2012 Mac Mini (both are drive free versions so they came with no discs), I no longer have either of these features in GarageBand '11 (6.0.5).
Does anyone know how to reinstall/download them?
Garage band used to download them automatically the first time I started up the software but now Magic Garageband has nothing in it and I get a popup anytime I open a new project saying "Please reinstall the Apple Loop Package".
Is anyone else having this isssue?
How would I go about fixing it?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Michael Jos Moore
    @mooremichaelcom

The saved effects are stored in your User Library - you need to uninstall it.
Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
Open your User Library and open the folder
    ~/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Plug-In Settings/Compressor/
Remove the setting you just created and saved from the "Compressor" folder.
Restart your Computer. (Don't skip this step - it is necessary in Mavericks).
Your User library is hidden by default since MacOS X 10.7.  Lion.
Select the "Home" folder icon (the little house)  in the Finder's sidebar and press the key combination ⌘J to open the "view options".
    Enable "Show Library Folder".

  • Apple Loops from Regions problem...

    Greetings,
Having a problem when I add a region to Apple Loops in Logic Express 8....
I've read some similar threads, but nothing that answers these issues..
After creating a region using the Ultrabeat or a synth (all internal), I'll select the region and go up
to the 'Region' drop down menu and select the first option, 'Add to apple loops library'...
I came across this process naturally and it seemed to work fine, but then some of the loops created
acted differently than others.  When I drag some of them into the Arrage area, and press play,
they will playback no matter what position they are at.
For example if I have a beat that starts at 1., but I have the recently added 'problem' loop at 4.,
this 'problem' loop will play back from 1 as well, no matter if it's at 4, or 24...
I'm not sure why this is happening to some and not others....???
Did i accidentally do something to these that I didn't do to the others?
Also, I figured I'd just delete them and create new ones, but then I couldn't find them ANYWHERE
on my harddrive!!!???   I really don't get this one...
I've read about the Apple Loops Utility now and I guess i should use that for future loop creation?
I really don't understand how the loops I made are no where to be found, not even in the
                     Apple Loops/User Loops folder....
Would really, really appreciate if someone could help w/ this conundrum!

    Ouch.... That's a real bummer.
I would recommend trying the "re-conversion" with just a few loops and seeing how it works for you. I've had to do this before as well. I had a library from L7 that I had converted using ALU inside L8's arrange window. For some reason, the loops that I had never used in that project that I had converted were not converted after I deleted the project that I used them in... make sense? not to me either....
The whole Apple Loop Utility is awesomely useful sometimes and buggy to the point of frustration at others....
Also, is there any consistent pattern to the "off-timeiness" of the loops? (i.e: only midi loops, only audio loops, only slows down, only speeds up, "choppy", etc...)

  • Can I relocate the Apple Loops & Index folder to another drive?

There's like 10GB of Apple Loops on my boot drive. I would LOVE to move all of that stuff off to a data drive. Is there a PLIST file or something that tells SoundtrackPro, etc where this treasure-trove of stuff is located - or is it hardwired to be in the Library folder on the boot drive?
    G5 DP 2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)
