New Apple TV and OLD HD ready Sony w/o HDMI
I have an old HD ready Sony TV... no HDMI connection. However, I also have a DISH satellite receiver that provides the HD tuner and does have an HDMI connection.
Can I plug the HDMI cable from my DISH receiver to Apple TV box and make all this work? I'd hate to order the Apple TV and not be able to connect it... don't want to buy a new TV quite yet.
Thanks

If I have a new apple ID and password, do I lose all of my old apps if I sync to my new apple ID?
I'll ask my question differently. I have multiple devices and I sync them to my itunes account. For one of my devices, I gave it to a family member. I changed my itunes password and did not give it to the family member who has one of my devices. Will they be able to update applicable apps not having the new password?
Also, if that family member opens their own itunes account and purchase apps and sync the phone, will they lose all the apps that was purchased from my itunes account? -
If I create a new Apple ID and I delete the old one, Will I lose my purchases and data?
If I create a new Apple ID and I delete the old one, my books, songs, docs and all the data that my old Apple ID contained including my purchased Apps will appear in my new Apple ID and its associated Icloud?
I want to create a new Apple ID but do not lose my data and purchases, How could I do it?Are you entering your Existing Email Address for which you have Access and also are you Entering the Password which Matches Apple Requirement ?
Enter the Email Address that you already have (like Gmail, Yahoo, MSN, Live, etc) but you have never used it for creating Apple ID before.
Passwork Requirement is Minimum 8 Characters, Alpha Numeric and Password should Content atleast 1 Upper Case and 1 Lower Case Letter. You will find the more detail on the same page when Creating Apple Id and iTunes will give you Error if the Password you enter does not match their requirement. -
If I create a new Apple ID and rescue my old one will I still have all the credit I did on my previous Apple ID ?
You will still have them on the old one i guess

Arghh!! I am literally about to throw my new iPad out of a window - apple is driving me beyond crazy. I have an old iTunes account to which all my music is saved. I have just created a new apple id and want that to be the one that my iTunes account references - it won't let me change my old email to this as it says my new apple I'd is sychd to another account. How do I do it? Am desperate!
Delete them and then download them from the desired Apple ID. This may require repurchasing paid applications.

I have a new Apple ID and I can't change it for my iCloud. It keeps asking me to sign into iCloud with my old email address an it doesn't work because I changed it. What do I do ?
To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I created an new apple id and want to change my billing information from the old id to the new id. How do i do that, as i have been trying it like always and it keeps saying that i have to contact apple support? I have an iphone 5S.
Good day BenithaK,
Once you have changed your Apple ID, you need to set it up for use in the various systems such as iTunes, the App Store, etc so it can be used as intended. This article shows how to do that -
Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID - Apple Support
To change your iTunes billing information for either Apple ID account, follow the directions in this article -
iTunes 12 for Mac: Manage your iTunes Store account
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I keep getting pop-ups telling me to sign in to my iCloud and it's very annoying. I have no idea what the old password was, and I don't really have a way of changing the old password because I also don't know my password for the e-mail address connected to it (it kept telling me that the answers to my security questions were wrong, but I'm not sure what other answers they would have been). Therefore, I created an entirely new e-mail and a new Apple ID and everything else is set to that ID... except iCloud. Is there any way to correct this, or am I out of luck?
If your device is signed into an old iCloud ID, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID*, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).
* If that's not the case, you'll have to contact the Apple account security team and ask for assistance resetting the password for the old ID: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security. You'll have to be able to prove your identity to them before they will do this. -
I have an old work e mail address that was a primary apple id. The App Store uses this as a default. I have created a new apple ID and changed this in the settings but the App Store still defaults to the old address. How can I get change this as I cannot update anything at this stage. I cannot create a new password against the ole apple ID as the e mail is no longer valid, old work e mail
Hi tried the various options but ended up deleting the apps associated with the old Appleid and then accessing them from the App Store and reloading. They automatically asked for the new Appleid and password.

Hi, I have made a new Apple ID and logged in on my phone, settings > iTunes & app stores, but the app store is still using my old Apple ID. How do I get rid of the old ID and replace it with the new one?

You could use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

My husband bought a new Ipad Mini and he created a new Apple ID and new password for him, but his old Ipad was under my Apple ID and Icloud too. Now he wants to get his pictures from Icloud to his new Ipad, What do i need to do?
You can use a wireless flash drive.
Copy from old iPad > wireless flash drive > copy to new iPad

I recently updated my apple ID email address, and Password to my current (newer) address. upon doing so iCloud went completely crazy, changed the timing zones on my calendars, and removed or changed data on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
i have tried, in vein, to get a verification email sent to me from apple so i can get my iCloud account working again, however no such email has arrived.
soon i will be taking my Mac to an Apple store to get the Harddrive wiped clean, as Mountain Lion has well and truly messed it up. what i am wondering is, if i where to create an entirely new apple ID, and start from scratch would i still have access to the apps and song purchases i made on the on the old account?Well yes, but if you want to update those apps, you'd need to sign in under your old Apple ID to update them. It's really best to just stick to one Apple ID, or you'll run into association complications down the road.

I need to delete the name of my old apple ID and password since it was hacked. I created a new Apple ID, and password they work fine getting in and out of account however Apple has kept my old hacked account in their record for updates. I also can not use ITunes applications because Apple has kept old hacked email in their system and they are matching it up to my IPAD and my IPOD touch serial numbers I believe. Any Idea how I can fix this my self without buying their phone warranty plan? I have gone into settings and tried updating info their and with apple on phone once before they said they fixed it and now the latest IOS 6 update won 't load to IPOD TOUCH due to this.
HELP !!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!?????????????AT A LOSS ON THIS ONE???????
Any suggestions would be appreciated?First, if you still have access to the hacked account, rename it if you can and change the password for it.
How to change the name you use for your Apple ID
If needed, change the email linked to it as well. Get control of that account back.
As all iTunes purchases are linked to the account that purchased them (music, apps, etc) it is best to rename an account rather than creat a new account. Apple ID's can't be deleted or merged either.
From Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
If you need further Apple ID help, you will want to contact Apple, Apple ID Support
or maybe iTunes Support

I made a new Apple ID and everything has been changed and then I am trying to update candy crush and it is asking me for an old apple ID and this hasn't happened before
Games and media are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
Either log in under the old ID to update Candy Crush or delete the game and
then download it under the new ID. All in-app purchases and progress will be lost.
Why did you make a new AppleID, if I may ask? -
I just updated my iPhone. it prompted me to create an apple id. not being sure i did create a new one. after my phone updated i realized what i did. how can i delete my new apple id and use my old one so i can get my apps? thanks
Go to 'Settings' and 'Store' and then click on the 'Apple ID' and sign out and back in with your correct one.
