New apple tv restarting as I scroll across the menu - help?

Just bought the apple tv yesterday. When I get to the Movies and start to move my cursor across to music and then over to Podcast - as soon as I move over to podcast the unit restarts and does not allow me to move over to other selections like Internet or Settings.... Any ideas?

If your ATV is rebooting itself spontaneously, particularly if it is a frequently recurring problem, it's most likely the result of hardware failure. If you just bought it yesterday, take it back to the Apple store and exchange it.

Was it bought in an Apple store, as there is no product page for Apple TV in your location? If it was bought through another store make sure it was an authorized seller.
There are no apps stored on the device (except Computers and Settings), they are fed through a server and will differ depending on region. For example, there are many that are US only and some require connection to a cable provider. To change accounts and access another region you would need a valid address and credit card.

No, you will not loose anything. However, if you ever need to update any of that previously purchased content, or re-download it, you will have to use the older AppleID. Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID you use when making the purchase.

Apps are permanently tied to the AppleID that downloaded them and cannot be transferred to another. Best thing to do is delete the apps and download those you want or need under your AppleID.

i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1. I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard. This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter. When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes. Now it's running flawlessly. I have Avast anti-virus installed though.

We all know the battery doesn't last a full day if you "use" your phone like a normal person. I am very frustrated! My daughters iphone 5 started doing this a few days later than mine as well.

I would recommend the steps in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

Apps and music are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If you don't want to continue to get that message, delete the apps and purchase them again with your new Apple ID.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. I saw a Motorola smartphone yesterday that had this feature. It would be fabulous !!!!!!

TThe feature I saw didn't require touching the phone, the time automatically scrolled across just for a few seconds, each minute.
FAbulius for for a massage therapist who uses her hands to work on clients but wants to know the time.
are you suggesting that if I unlock my phone, I can see the time on my phone without touching the phone? Is this constant and therefore a drain on my battery? Then too my phone isn't locked.

this is a Family Sharing question. After we upgraded to family sharing, and I now have a new apple id, I find that all the documents on my iPad in pages, are only accessible if i sign in with the original apple id- now my husband's ( he is the primary account holder). Is there an easy way to migrate these documents to my iCloud account, or do i need to email them to myself . There are a couple of hundred documents.

No. I have tried twice. When I turn off pages in the iCloud settings while logged into his account, then my documents in pages just are gone. They return when I turn it back on.
Is there another way I can save them to the device?

I am trying to synch my iPhone with my computer, and new Apple ID. My iPhone is synced with another computer, but i have changed the Apple ID on my phone and authorized it on my computer. However, i can not transfer my purchases on to my new account. I have updated my phone, authorized the account on both my phone and my computer. And i do not wish to wipe my phone clean, because there is but one song on this new account. How do i transfer the music on my new account?

All content bought/downloaded from iTunes is tied to the account that downloaded it and it can't be transferred to a different account - so you will need to authorise your old account on that computer if you want to transfer its purchases over.
