New apple wireless keyboard doesn't work after upgrade to leopard on mini

I am posting this because I have not seen anybody else post this issue, but it is fixed at this point.
I installed the new apple ultra slim wireless keyboard on my mac mini about a month ago...was working great...until I upgraded to Leopard. The keyboard would connect, and the esc, function, and arrow keys would work great. However, none of the letter, number, or enter keys would work. This was all observed using the 'show keyboard viewer', which is accessible by allowing 'show input menu in menu bar' from the 'international' system preference pane.
I rebooted many times and even updated to the latest leopard patch set.
During this whole time, the wireless mighty mouse has worked without issue.
I removed the device and added several times with no change. I even moved the wireless keyboard to my G5 and it worked great over there.
After a few days of trying various things to no avail, I was finally able to get the keys to work, but I am not sure why. I had a wired keyboard connected and kept going back and forth between the wireless and wired keyboard and all of a sudden it started working. Very strange.

this problem is fixed, but if anybody has an idea what happened, I would like to know.

Last night my apple wireless keyboard stop working in windows. It is working perfectly fine in the OS system though. I have checked control panel in Windows 7 and found out that under Device management "apple keyboard" has an issue there, I have tried to follow the steps windows suggest but it doesn't work...How can I fix this please? Looking at purchasing a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Macbook Pro. Figured the one made by apple will work, but not sure... Any suggestions on a good wireless keyboard and mouse, or knowledge on whether Apples will work or not?

I just got them last week and the keyboard is new and the mouse is used but looks brand new. And you get a free pair of AA bateries with the mouse. And you can get 2AA batteries for the keyboard for an extra $1.29 I highly recommend going this route as I did very recently and am very pleased.

Apple BT keyboard doesn't work after OS update

When I booted up a day after installing the latest Maverick update, my Apple BT keyboard no longer pairs with my iMac. It paired with a laptop at the Apple store, and the BT mouse still works. A clean reinstall of the OS hasn't helped.

FWIW, I have not seen posts that indicate any Bluetooth connectivity problems with OS X 10.9.2...

I am running Boot Camp w/Windows XP Service Pack 3. I cannot ever connect my Apple Bluetooth Keyboard in Windows. The mouse seems to work OK but the keyboard just doesn't work. Is there a way to get this working?

Wireless Keyboard functions not working after upgrade

I have a HP Pavillion Elite m9080a desktop with a wireless keyboard 5189URF Running originaly on Vista but last week I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is that the feature buttons on my keyboard are not working ie no volume control, CD/DVD controls not working, typing is ok. Also the caps lock / number lock icon is not appearing on the task bar. Also on my Monitor w2207h the two USB outlets are not working either. I need help please to restore these functions.

Yes.. its for windows vista.. run it with recomended settings..
if it dosent work then try following..
go to your device manager and see can you see some devices named " unknows devices"
if yes then >
Try following some steps
go to your device manager > right click on unknown devices > go to Properties > then Details tag
select from drop down list called Hardware ID's (PCI\VEN...) Copy it via right click...
and search it according to it on google or any serch engine you will get the right drivers..

Doesn't work after upgrade to leopard

I recently upgraded my iMac G5 to Leopard, and had been running GarageBand 2 since I got the computer. After upgrading, when I try to work on a song, none of the tracks show up. Usually one or maybe two will be visible, and when I create new tracks, it just appears over the top of the existing tracks. If I click on the track and drag the mouse down as if to rearrange them, all the tracks appear, but disappear as soon as I let go of the mouse.
I'm stumped. I really have no idea what could be wrong, and I don't want to spend $80 to upgrade to the new iLife when I don't need it.
Is this some sort of installation corruption, or is this version of garageband incompatible with leopard? And what can I do to fix it?

Wireless keyboard doesn't work after latest security update

Hi,
I update MacOS 10.6.7 with latest security update and my wirelles keyboard is connected, but keys not work, capslock light doesn't change. I try charge battery, then I replace new battery, but it has no effect. I connect keyboard to another Mac with Leopard system and there's no problem... There's some solution? Thanks

Try repairing permissions with Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility.
There select First Aid. After that select the hard drive within Disk Utility's window. Finally click on the button that says Repair Permissions. A reboot may be necessary to finish the work when it is done.
Ignore any errors reported.

It was a bunch of other troubles that lead to this point.
Macally external wouldn't pic up by firewire. Used Bluetooth keyboard to browse web for help.
Downloaded from Macally's site 'Firewire Enabler' using option+click since safari disabled my regular click and download method
followed instructions for install of 'Firewire Enabler'(put it in the extensions folder).
Crash On startup with an error and grey restart screen of destruction.
Installed OSX on another drive, keyboard wouldn't pic up..... went for a wireless usb gateway keyboard
located the 'Firewire Enabler' file and deleted it.
Restarted system and booted back from old drive.
Locate USB something error,
Bluetooth keyboard neither lights up when turned on nor connects....
what do?

I have no clue what you have done, but you seem to have piled things on top of one another.
I would probably start over. Your profile indicates you are running an older version of OS X. (10.4). If that is the case, I would do an archive and install (after uninstalling whatever third party stuff you have added).

I did "upgrade" install of Leopard, and clicking on URL that comes up in web sharing in system preference gave me "forbidden 403" thing.
Found this instruction on making .conf file in /etc/apache2/users/ -->

Now I get "unable to connect, can't establish connection" message.

New apple wireless keyboard & iPad 3 pairing question

Bought a new Apple wireless keyboard this week. Had some trouble pairing with iPad 3. Took me 4-5 attempts but it finally paired successfully after 10-15 minutes. Question for all you gurus... When the wireless keyboard arrived on Friday, I first paired it with my MacBook Pro. Could that have caused issues when I re-paired the wireless keyboard (today) with my iPad 3. And further, this will sound like a silly question, can the wireless keyboard be paired with two devices? I don't mean simultaneously. Does it screw up any settings to use the key board with separate devices/computers? Wondering -- if I keep my wireless keyboard at my office -- can I go to work with either my MBP or my iPad and simply use this one wireless keyboard? Or should each device have its own dedicated wireless keyboard? That seems redundant but I kind of love this keyboard already and would be willing to buy a second, if need be. Obviously, I don't want to spend extra money if it isn't necessary. Am I going to have to re-pair the keyboard and device each time I switch between the iPad and the MBP? Thanks all. Thanks for the quick reply Skydiver! So...I really should buy a second wireless keyboard so that I don't have to go through the hassle of re-pairing the keyboard when i switch devices, yes? Yes, I believe I've answered my own question as I now sit here with my MBP attempting to pair it to the keyboard. Oy. Taking forever. I don't mind buying a second -- for $69, it seems to be the most efficient thing to do. Now I just need to figure out a way to designate which wireless keyboard goes with which device. Wacom Tablet causes Apple wireless keyboard to stop working.

My Wacom tablet/pen causes my Apple wireless keyboard to stop working. While working on a photo in Photoshop using my Apple (usb) mouse to make selections the keyboard works fine. When I use the Wacom Pen to make selections, not immediately but anywhere from five to ten minutes into it, I hear what sounds like a chirp from my computer (Mac Pro) and my keyboard stops working. The command, option, control and direction keys still work but not the number and letter keys. I have to connect a spare Logitech keyboard via USB in order to continue and not loose my work. After awhile I will hear the chirp again and the Apple keyboard will start working. This will continue to occur at irregular intervals. Without the spare keyboard I've had to reboot my computer (loosing all the work on the photo) to get the keyboard working again, but only for it to reoccur. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated.

The Mac inherently keeps all input methods active, such that you could type alternate keys on alternate keyboards.
If you have third party add-ons that might change the way Bluetooth works, those would be the primary suspects.
Be sure all your Drivers are completely up-to-date, and batteries in battery-powered devices are still strong.
Bluetooth uses the same part of the frequency spectrum (but a different modulation technique) as cheap WiFi Routers, baby monitors, and microwave ovens. if you live in a busy apartment building, there may be very high levels of interference.

New apple wireless keyboard could not be detected

I just purchased a new apple wireless keyboard and not paired with any device before. It could not be detected by my mbp 09 (with most updated software) by "set up bluetooth keyboard" button. It could not detected by bluetooth device serach on ipad2 either. Any setting procedures I missed? I followed all procedures I could find... Please help. Thanks!

The Function keys will not all work properly on 10.5.8, all the other keys will be fine. The previous model MB110LL/A would work with all the Function keys on Leopard or Snow Leopard.
