New AppleTV 2 update

Does anybody know if this new update for ATV 2 addresses the problem of dropping wi-fi connection upon waking up out of sleep mode?

Earlier today I installed the upgrade to my 2nd generation AppleTV. After reading your question I tried to see if it was still recognizing my computer/iTunes, and it was. To be honest, I don't remember having a problem with losing the connection before the upgrade but I may have just not noticed.

Sync no longer works with new AppleTV update

Since upgrading to the latest AppleTV software, I can no longer sync to my AppleTV (1st gen). I can now only stream content to the AppleTV. There is still content on the AppleTV, but I can no longer manage that content.

Netflix Streaming Problem with new AppleTV 1080

Hi there,
I have had a AppleTV 2 720 for two years. It has been working perfectly with Netflix. I have a new AppleTV 1080 and the streaming from Netflix is awful. The picture drops definition and the audio goes out of sync and sometimes it just comes up with an error message. I have BT Infinity (30+mbps) and never have any issues streaming from Netflix via two or three devices at any one time. I have searched forums with no solution. I have tried lowering from 1080 to 720 on AppleTV, (kind of negates the purchase of a 1080 device though, eh), restarted and restored the AppleTV, logged out and into Netflix. The super HD picture when working is great but not sure if AppleTV 1080 is suited to Netflix. Surely I can't be the only sufferer here, please help! Thank you....

This is what worked for me. It was posted by BenFinklea so he deserves the credit. Since I've done these steps I've had no streaming issues. I agree that it's an Apple issue and not a Netfix one. All my other devices on and off the same network stream just fine. To test this I even bought a Roku LT which I love, especially for the money and it streamed flawlessly. I perfer the format of my Apple TV so I was glad to have it operational again! Good luck.
Use Google’s Public DNS Server To Fix Apple TV Streaming Problems
1. Navigate to Settings >> General >> Network and select Configure TCP/IP.
2. Select “Manually” next to Configure IP.
3. Dont change the IP address or the Subnet Mask and Router Address. Just click "Done".
4. Set the DNS Address screen with the following: 008.008.008.008 and click “Done.”
You should now be able to stream Netflix on your Apple TV.
I moved the Apple TV unit away from other electronics and rebooted the router/BT Hub and restarted Apple TV. I did the fix as above and it seems to be ok. Will update soon! Thanks Winston....

The "New" AppleTV?

When Steve Jobs announced the "new" AppleTV last Tuesday, is it just a new update to the software for the AppleTV or is it a completely different model from the older ones? I'm just wondering since the Apple Store states that it is "new", I just notice that it has "802.11n Wi-Fi wireless". Is all the AppleTV 802.11n?

May or may not be a good thing.
The A4 is powerful enough to handle a slightly different GUI arrangement, let's just hope it doesn't bring a size overhead that will diminish memory resources used for other things.
I couldn't see anything obvious on the new AppleTV page earlier, but they do tend to mention software updates there if there's one available when a big interface change takes place.
Both run iOS and should be able to support the new software unlike the old AppleTV 1.

Will I be able to feed content to the new AppleTV from my Synology DS210J NAS? It has an "iTunes service"...
I wouldn't be happy if I had to turn on my monstrous gaming computer in the bedroom every time I wanted to listen to music in the living room.

Not directly. Apple TV requires either a synched or streamed sever to respond with a 4 digit code upon initial link-up. The NAS's use the mt-daap/FireFly media server which does not have the capability to respond with a 4 digit code response. Besides, iTunes 10 broke the ability of most NAS mt-daap/FireFly servers to share thru iTunes.
I've never tried streaming iTunes 9.21 shared library audio/visual files from a NAS. I'll have to try that when I get a chance.
BTW, the mt-daap/FireFly server s/w hasn't been updated in two years, and it's speculated on the 'Net that the developer has stopped the development. However, I new guy is furthering the development under the generic name of "forked-daapd". But, it will be up to the NAS compa benies to fix their units, not Apple. (Another discussion.) Guess I won't updating to iTunes 10 for awhile.

Not happy with new appletv

I have both versions of apple tv
I had 2 of the old style and sold one for the ability to use netflix (which i like)
but other then that the the software seems to be in need of some major refinement. I was hoping with the update that they would have made some changes but it didnt seem like anything changed
1. Connecting to a library is deathly slow.... I dont know how the old apple tv did it but when i click on a directory for tv or movies or whatever it would immediately take me to that list.... now i get 2 minutes of "loading..." im curious if this has to do with the homesharing option?.. perhaps if they reverted to the old way of connecting to you library then perhaps it might be immediate.. right now by the time i get to the show i want to watch im so frustrated I just want to turn the TV off
2. I dont know what happened but with the original when you went into your tv shows you would find your shows then click then find your season then click and then find your show.....
now on the new one it lists all the tv seasons in with all the shows so when your looking for something it takes 5 times as long to get to the bottom of the list
3. the crashing - the new appletv just doesnt seem stable.... i have to pull the plug on it all the time to reset it when its frozen, or it will reset on its own in the middle of a movie
4. could be related to my tv but i never had a problem before with the old one is that now when it goes to sleep it always seems to wake up in some other resolution with "noise" on the sides or bottom that doesnt go away until you unplug the appletv and plug it back in
i can deal with a lot of these issues but apple if your reading this the lag between menus is just horrible it kills the whole experience please make this a priority for your updates

Well you kind of have to think of it as a new device, instead of a second generation. They started from scratch and made it run on ios instead of a version of OSX. I haven't really noticed any problems but there are people having issues and glitches (and these could be for any number of reasons).
I'm sure there were, and there are people having issues with the first one too. Sometimes the forums can help solve these issues, but sometimes it involves a firmware update or talking to apple support etc.

Since installing new software update, my iphone 4S no longer is recognized by itunes

I installed the new software update to my Windows PC and my iphone and now my iphone 4s is no longer recognized by itunes and I cannot sync. I already attempted unintalling itunes and reinstalling it - it didn't work.

It sounds like your phone is not recognzied in iTunes anymore. I recommend the troubleshooting steps from the article named:

Here is an overview of the troubleshooting to be done:
1. Update iTunes
2. Check the USB cable
3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Check for third-party software conflicts
If the issue persists, try uninstalling iTunes and its associated apps with either of these two articles depending on your operating system version and its associated softwares:

Computer slow and not responding since installation of new iTunes update

Good Morning,
I downloaded the new iTunes update two days ago. As soon as I did it my computer was freezing up and none of my programs would respond. I uninstalled it as my computer was working fine. I did the update again and the same thing happened. So this time I uninstalled iTunes only, not Quick Time and my computer is fine. Is there anyway I can get a link to download the previous version? I can not do a system restore because my compute does not have one for some reason. I have tried that.
Also my computer's CPU usage runs normally at anywhere from 4% to 12%, both times after I did the update, it was running at 100% all the time. I could not shut it off or close any programs.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Many thanks Matt - when I spoke to my son last night he did say the anti-virus programme might be the cause, so he told me how to re-install the old Thunderbird version which worked, and to tick the option which says 'allow me to choose whether to install new versions'. It looks like new firmware update is available for Nokia N95 basic model .
Earlier Version of Firmware was : 30.0.015
Now the latest available Firmware was : 31.0.014
When i connected my N95 to PC using PC-Suite, it notified me about this. But when i searched the internet for change log , i found none. Is it right firmware , why Nokia didn't disclose change log, which it used to do it earlier ???
I will wait for 2 more days for official communication from Nokia....

I had the same problem when i dl-ed a new anti-virus softward, but what I did help me reconnect Firefox again!
Here is what I did,
Go to open firefox browser-->option-->advanced-->network-->settings-->and change it to auto-detect proxy settings for this network!

Apple removed blood glucose until further notice. The reason behind this is that it gave a distorted picture in countries where the medical world used other measuring units. I suspect it will be available again in a future update.

With the new i0s7 update I can't delete the mail in my inbox all at once. I see there is the edit which allows you to mark all and to the right of that is MOVE and TRASH, why when you mark all you can't access these two options?

In the new ios7 update, why can't you mark all your messages in the inbox all at once? The EDIT tab lets you Mark All and off to the right is greyed out "move" and "trash", why can't you Select all and then press TRASH. It only lets you mark them as Flag, or mark as read. This *****!

Per pg 52 of the iOS7 User Manual, what you describe should be possible:
Delete, move, or mark multiple messages. While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select some messages or tap Mark All, then choose an action. If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.
