New application icons not showing in Mavericks?

Hi folks,
I've recently re-installed Mavericks on my iMac.
When I install new apps the icons are not showing properly - like this: http://d.pr/i/AFFF

Does the icon in the lower-right corner say "2 more in Finder" or something like that? I think a Stack can only show a certain number of files; then it directs you to the Finder to see the ones that were bumped off. For instance, my Documents stack displays 62 files, with a link "55 more in Finder" in the corner.

KDE 4.8.0 upgrade - application icons not showing in system tray

I updated to KDE 4.8.0 through pacman yesterday, and I noticed that system tray is not working as it should. Icons for some applications do not show, while other work OK.
For example, Akregator icon appers in tray, while icons for Skype, AppSet or the Java application I'm developing do not. I notced that notification ballons for these apps pop up at upper left corner, instead of lower right.
Anybody got some idea what might be wrong? Maybe QT version issues?
One more question: how can I bring up these application windows when they do not show in tray?

Application Icons Not Showing

When I install new apps, the icon just shows the default blank paper with a "NO" sign. After a restart, the correct icon for that application will replace it. Why does it do this, and is there any solution for getting the correct icon other than a restart?

Those icons can take a bit to link, especially with large numbers of files. I'm fairly sure if you waited a bit longer they would appear on their own (it's a spotlight related thing).
Try restarting the Finder; waiting; logging out and back in.
Also, try deleting the com.apple.systempreferences.plist
~/Library/Preferences/...
Also ~(yourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist & com.apple.recentitems.plist

App-V 5.0 SP1 application icons not showing up

I've set up clean App-V 5.0 SP1 environment (Server, Sequencer and Clients). Published applications works when accessing them from %Localappdata%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\Integration\... folder, but for some reason the application shortcut icons are not showing
up correctly either in start menu or in desktop (defined desktop folder for shortcuts in App-V Server settings just for test).
So, there is this shortut on start menu, but it's not showing application icon and when opening shortcut properties it does not show application, it only shows "start in" folder (which is %localappdata%\etc..).
I've tried this now on Windows 7, Windows 8 and on 2008R2 server (rds client). Same "error" appears on all machines, and application icon is not showing up correctly.

That sounds very strange. Have you checked out the event viewer logs? You should enable the Advanced view and check them out. Also may be worth while making a copy of the .appv file and renaming it to zip, opening up and looking for the shortcuts in the
AppXManifest.XML file...see if you notice anything a miss there. Also the most obvious would be to take a copy of the package, open it for upgrade and ensure the shortcuts appear under Shortcuts and FTAs.

Application icons not showing in a stack

I have dragged my Applications folder to the doc, so I can use the stack feature. However not all the application icons display in the stack, anyone know why this would happen?
It's not all of them just Delicious Library and Fetch (so far).

Application icons not showing in console

Does anyone see application icons in the Configuration Manager console? There's an "Icons" column as if this is an intended feature, but it always shows the generic application icon. This is really annoying as I can't check applications icons unless
I find a machine the application is deployed to and check Software Center.
Is this a known issue? Is there some way to resolve it?

New MBP Icon not Showing up in Shared

First off, love the new MBP. Situation is: the computer name shows up in the sidebar of the Finder in the Shared items on the network on my MacPro, but there isn't an icon next to it. Any ideas why this might be?

I have solved the problem by copying the file com.apple.macbookpro17-wi08.icns under /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Library/MachineTypes.bund le/Contents/Resources/ from my new MBP into the same folder in the MP. Apple is good but "quodammodo bonus dormitat Homerus"...

New genre icons not showing up on iPad

I edited the genres.plist file on my XP system to add some genre photos and they show up fine in iTunes (and I have validated the XML file once I finished editing it). I've subsequently done more than a couple of music syncs to the iPad but none of the new genre photos show up in the genre view. Is there another step to make this happen? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is just showing "My favorites"
Can somebody please tell me the reason for it or how to bring "My accounts" in search show

May be while copying the application "My Accounts" is not copied.
But you can create one by saving the Query.
Seelct "My Account" in the Find DDLB while in adv search and save the query as "My accounts".
It will be added to the SHOW DDLB.

SADLY not as i downloaded an upgrad to my original PAGES/
i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......
and the same magic was supposed to happen in reverse.
It doesn't/
if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?

I installed the following tools :-
Weblogic Server 10.3.6
SE JDK 6U35 64bit
Oracle Portal,Forms,Report,and Discoverer Services (11.1.1.4.0)
1. Create a "icons" folder and place all gif images in there :-
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Form1\forms\java\<icons>
2. Within icons i made a jar file of all gif images :-
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Form1\forms\java\icons\jar -cvf frmicons.jar *.gif
3. Copy this new jar file into :-
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Form1\forms\java\
4. Edit formsweb.cfg file:
imageBase=codebase
archive=frmall.jar,frmicons.jar
5. Edit Registry.dat file:
default.icons.iconpath=/forms/java
default.icons.iconextension=gif
After doing above configuration i create a form and place an icon on the button.
Set button's icon property = Yes and give name of icon without extension.
When i run the form not display icons who configure icons.
Please give the solution how to set icons on button.

Application menu not showing in preference pane

Have brought some games for the iphone and ipod touch but have no application menu not showing in preference pane to upload them to to ipod touch. All software is current both itunes and ipod touch

If you go to Preferences, General you should be able to see the "Applications" check box, below "Audiobooks". Check the box, this will show the Applications icon in your library.

I've been all over the support page, I even looked up my purchase history and there is are none showing and I even bought last weeks episode, The Bell's of St. John. Who can I contact to find out why I'm not getting the rest of season 7 for download?

Garmin is sending you to Apple because it is Apple that would have to give you a refund as the actual point of sale. However, Apple states all sales are final.
Apple is sending you to Garmin because it is Garmin's fault their maps are out of date and Apple doesn't write the software. They may not even be looking that deeply and simply perceiving it as a programming "bug" it is up to Garmin to solve.
Who know whose fault it is that Garmin isn't getting up to date data to put in their maps.
Ultimately I think you stand the best chance in getting a refund from Apple though it isn't guaranteed. Apple is the cashier. You just have to convince them this isn't just a line of code omitted from an application and isn't something that will be soon corrected by Garmin. Make it clear it isn't a problem with the application running on your device, it is a problem with the data it contains. Either that or you have to hope Garmin will feel so bad about it they will delve down into their slush fund and send you a refund.

I have a Ipod touch and recently added new music to my itunes library on my laptop. When I sync with my ipod, the new music does not show up on my ipod even though the sync process seems to be working.

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

In IPhoto I changed movie dates after thumb nails were created in IMovie but the new dates are not showing up in IMovie. Is there someway to refresh the IPhoto event in IMovie?

Background: I'm transferring file folders from a Visa laptop via an external hard drive to my IMac. In the folders are photos and videos from different cameras. SO I first tried to import to IMovie but it would not recognize any of the files. So then I imported into IPhoto and both photos and videos were imported and I created events for each folder. When I first opened IMovie I had to wait for it to create "thumb nails". Then I could view the events in IMovie BUT the video clips are not together because they have vastly different dates and are mixed with videos from other events. I looked at the dates and said I can fix that in IPhoto which i did but those new dates are not showing up in IMovie. I think I need to somehow refresh the event data that Imovie is using but have not found how to do that in either IPhoto or IMovie.
I'm doing this on three events with about 100 photos and videos. But I have many 1000s more to do so need to know how to either fix this or delete these events, reimport, change the dates, then open again in IMovie. I'm sure that would work but I can't understand why changing the dates in IPhoto is not being reflected in IMovie.
Appreciate any tips or pointers.
OBTW this is my first question as a first time Apple owner.

Well moving to a different discussion group did not provide an answer to this question either. But what I finally did was import one batch of photos and videos into IPhoto for a given day at a time. Working with these I could change the date and times in order to get them in the original sequench taken. Then I would create an album with that batch. These would all be on the same day (IMove was closed for this phase). Then I would open IMovie, generate the thumbnails for that album, and select the album I had created. This was necessary because the importing process in IPhoto was using incorrect dates for my video so it was a real struggle finding them in IMove until I developed this approach.
I believe that this whole process was so screwy because I was importing from an external hard drive not a camera. I had these photos on a PC and did not have the original cameras to use to import directly which I am fairly sure would have made this easier!
